  1. Not so much a problem with the app but a problem with Amazon. Orders are not arriving. Some orders are returned without ever arriving and others just seem to disappear before being delivered. I’m in a remote area where shopping options are limited. Amazon used to be a reliable option. Search function is terrible, it just repeats the same items. It definitely needs better filter options. I’d like to be able to filter by country of origin for one thing.

It was a great experience at first but since November or so I have been charged twice a month for prime membership, I guess they charge you double for the “free shipping” I have been attempting to contact customer service in the app, which the app lags alot and it will automatically take me back to the home page. It has improved slightly more and is doing less than that. But I’m not sure if you are supposed to be charged twice each month for Amazon prime.

    Love the app, it does everything you’d like it to, especially appreciate the map /update notifications to see where your package is as its approaching your house. I removed 1 star because it is a little clunky, terribly slow much of the time, especially upon first opening it up. Also the menu is not that easy to figure out. I think it may simply be the font is too small.

  4. The Amazon Shopping app is a convenient way to shop on Amazon, but it has a few app-only benefits that make shopping on Amazon faster and easier than shopping on your desktop. For example, the app lets you add items to your shopping cart without leaving the app, and it will automatically calculate the shipping charges for you.

  5. Newest update is worst than the last. I’m honestly pretty annoyed with this update. This update made the app way to convoluted for kindle books. I am an avid reader and can’t buy books through the app anymore. I have to search for them in a web browser on Amazon. It’s gate keepy and pointless, it was fine before and makes trying to buy books more difficult. I try using the links listed and those don’t even work. Looks like Amazon doesn’t care about its authors or readers.

  6. Can’t download my purchased music. Amazon, keeps getting worse; more greddy than ever. It’s a most unpleasant shopping experience. Worse still, I cannot find parental controls for preventing in-app purchases. Amazon says the option is there, but it’s not. Product listings & reviews cannot be trusted. Search results are an awful manipulation. Sorting search results is wildly inaccurate, unhelpful, & manipulated. There is no recourse for the consumer. I’d cancel Prime if it wasn’t for my mother.

    The search algorithm amazon uses is terrible (I understand them showing sponsored items). Amazon used to deliver fairly quickly. Now I find myself coming to Amazon only if I can’t find it anywhere else. Almost every time I find a product elsewhere, I can get it quicker for the same price or cheaper. Usually packaged better as well so I don’t have to worry about it being damaged when I arrives. Not being able to use Amazon smile unless they have access to your location is stupid.

  8. Amazon is robbing people. Seriously. For 2 years they’ve consistently taken money from my cards on file for Prime membership well after canceling multiple times. It doesn’t matter if I cancel it or an Amazon representative, and get refunded all or half in some cases. They charge me again. 16.25. I talk to them several times per month. when you make a purchase, be sure to take all your cards off the app. I use audible and kindle so I kinda have to keep returning to the app or website.

    Stale app. Sadly, does not support dark mode. Search is poor showing many irrelevant results. Order history has been shortened to 3 months from having a complete history. Having a full history to scroll through was very helpful in finding items to re-order and to see when items were purchased for warranty. Now you have to filter by year. If you cannot remember what year it was, it’s much more difficult to search. Less useful. Freezes up sometimes. December 2022 – no improvements.

  10. This app is terrible. You no longer have the ability to filter on MEANINGFUL fields. Everything has been replaced with IRRELEVANT values, that have nothing to do with what you want. It makes it EXTREMELY difficult and frustrating to find what you need quickly. In other words, for unknown reasons, Amazon took the power of their whole market position, and revolution in shopping (AKA making it quick and easy to find anything you want), and tossed it out the window, in favor of? Pathetic.

    App has become the worst version of itself that I’ve ever experienced. Always crashing and lagging, product videos will go to black screen and never play. Cart button goes to a product and not cart. Lots of issues. I’m not going to write a book about them. My experience with Amazon Shopping has become labored and tedious. I sincerely hope they get things back to before the newest update.

  12. I don’t want to watch your videos. You have made it so that the app will not scroll if I touch a video. This causes many of these terrible attempts at peddling some outsourced garbage to pop up to full screen, when I don’t want it to. This is the sort of poor functionality that will cause me to remove the app, and subsequently my prime subscription. Update: I would also like to be able to filter by country of origin. If that’s too much, just have a filter to exclude results from China.

    Scrolling for an item can be absolutely miserable with the unpausble video ads. Sure you can mute/scroll past them but the shakey camera they use for half of the products makes me physically ill. Having the the screen scroll downward while a video shakes around on the screen the perfect recipe for motion sickness. Got to the point where I’ve given up on searching for certain items where I’m more likely to be shown these ads. Honestly, Prime cost to much to have to put up with this.

  14. I wish people here reviewed the APP, not Amazon. Amazon’s great, the app not so much. Edit 1/30/2023: the app is usable once more, so back to 3.5 stars. My main gripe is still how slow and resource-heavy is the app, but I doubt they will ever optimize it, becoming heavier with time. Basically using it to occasionally browse items and check the tracking number of orders. I use my PC for prolonged browsing and to place orders. Faster that way.

    Absolutely horrible service these last few months. Nothing arrives on time. Why pay for prime if you have to wait weeks for your order. I have canceled more orders due to this issue in the last month then the entirety of 5 years shopping through Amazon. I just cancelled my prime. I would rather order through another site and be told up front delivery will take weeks, rather than wait to find out after the fact. Very greedy Amazon. You’re failing to provide the prime benefits being paid for.

  16. Good but problems since updating. Now I can’t take screenshots of my orders because of the “security policy” when that wasn’t a problem before. It also now asks every time for my address and payment method and because of that I can’t screenshot my purchases for my records anymore. I can literally take a screenshot of my address and card in Settings and Wallet, so why is it all of a sudden an issue in My Cart? Also for the person who asked, no, Amazon isn’t supposed to charge you twice for Prime.

  17. OMG been fighting with this app all night since I updated! It’s always regularly lagged / locked up (especially at night) but this is ridiculous! Dropping rating from 2 stars to 1. With so many updates you would think they would fix these stability issues. 😮‍💨 I’m on Wi-Fi but none of my other apps lock up like this, including Twitch and Roku mobile streaming. Cleared cache, uninstalled/reinstalled; no good.

  18. They just updated the app so that when you go to shop and you look up a product it autoplays a video on every. single. product. And when you go to click on the product that you may be interested in, it starts blasting the product video. I was advised there is no way to turn this off unless I also wanted to stop autoplay on my Amazon prime videos. Which means that if I were watching a show it would not autoplay the next episode. I fail to understand why these two would be linked.

  19. I love Amazon and the app can be somewhat useful. The ways to narrow down options of what u want could be better though. For ex: if you’re looking for a certain price on items it would be nice to be able to put it in manually from how low to high of a price range instead of up to $25 and then $25 to $50. What if I need something up to $60?Also, when I pick the option to show items from lowest to highest I notice a significant difference in the # of items found.

  20. Sadly, just canceled my prime membership. I had Amazon prime for a decade, the best thing ever for so long. But about 6 months ago something changed with their customer service, they absolutely can’t fix anything. They do extremely poor job of even trying and you can’t speak to anyone who can make things right. Sad that Amazon isn’t what it used to be, but given what it is now I had to cancel my subscription. I certainly hope feedback like this helps them get going in the right direction again

    Junk auto play in search results. Junk junk junk. It’s unusable for me. Can’t look at a product and decide if that’s what I’m looking for. Also I don’t like that this junk that I can’t turn off is using up data on my cellphone plan. I don’t plan on doing any shopping at Amazon until it’s changed. On a side note I tried the mobile website and it’s the same on there as well. Amazon must have thought doing this to their site they would increase sales. Just the opposite is happening in my case.

  22. Since a recent update, I can barely stand the search results because now they AUTOPLAY the images. I look to those images to tell whether I want to click on the result or not, but if I only got 2 seconds to tell what it is, how does that benefit anyone? This is pure “fixing what isn’t broken” example; way worse than what I’ve seen Microsoft do. For the love of God, at least let me turn it off! If I could guess, it’s decreased my chance of buying anything by 30% out of frustration.

  23. I love shopping with Amazon. However, the app is incredibly slow. The time it takes to switch through options on my phone or even open the app is tremendously slower than on my PC. Granted, my phone is now 2 years old but even when I first got it, it was still slow AF. I wish Amazon would put more time into functionality.

  24. Use to order so much, but this past year so many orders never arrive. It shows up as me returning the item, and most of the time the price of the item goes up from when I originally ordered it. Anytime I’ve turned to the Help Center on the app they say they’ll fix the problem, and never do. Ordering any items to be delivered is now becoming a big gamble, if things continue to be unreliable I’m pulling my subscription and looking for a better alternative.

  25. I haven’t had nearly the same trouble with bugs as some people are having, but I still see the “There was an error on our end” page way too much. My main inconvenience is ordering things that boast, (Buy in this amount of time to get it tomorrow) and 3 days later, I’m alerted that it was just shipped. I don’t even know if Amazon is to blame, but police your sellers or something. Prime isn’t worth paying for if it has no advantages over using the free version.

  26. Can’t view recent purchases page. It just keeps refreshing and nothing really loads. I’ve even tried reinstalling to see if it fixes it, but nope. I thought maybe it was just a bad update, but it’s been like this for months now, without a fix. Do better, Amazon. All these other things that don’t even matter are on the main page, but we can’t even view recent purchases anymore.

  27. So the filter options are confusing and don’t give you the options you want. Used to have a filter price high to low but can’t find it anywhere. The way they bill and display orders is for their convenience not the customers. If I buy 100$ worth of stuff i don’t want to see it as 10 separate purchases. Just show me the 1 order I placed and within the order show the 10 items not 10 separate charges and orders.

  28. The app no longer gives me push notifications when my orders ship, when they are 10 stops away or when they are delivered. I no longer get notifications about lightning deals for items in my wishlists. I haven’t changed any settings, confirmed that nothing is blocking notifications on my phone, even reached out to support for help, which they were no help. I even tried re-installing the app and still have issue. Amazon has gone downhill in general, no longer 2 day shipping on anything…

  29. App constantly buffering. Not just once in awhile when a lot of people may be using it, but every time I use it. I can NEVER check my orders cause that page will never load. Other setting options take forever to load as well. The only part that seems to work is the shopping portion of the app. Will take my money but won’t let me check on my order.

    Issues since the 11/25/22 Update. Now when I attempt to go to view my Past Orders. It takes me to the screen loads the in app links but the orders never load and the load bar just rapidly flashes. I have to close the app completely to remedy the issue. This happens everytime I attempt to view previous orders. Friends and family have spoken of the same issue since the last update. Lastly and extremely annoying. Now when you search for an item. The Videos and even ads start automatically!

    This used to be a five star app but recently they’ve started issuing advertisements in push notifications, and that’s frankly not acceptable no matter what app it is. I’d have given four stars if they used Android’s built in system for disabling specific types of notifications, but they didn’t, so now I have to turn off both the unwanted ads and helpful notifications at the same time.

  32. Update: they have removed the easily accessible chat button. So good luck getting in touch w customer service. Amazon also let’s dealers use old reviews for new products. Original: If you use any of the sorting options (like “price: low to high” because you can’t filter by price) it will take out thousands of options. Designed to make you waste time looking through thousands of items.

  33. N’ver mind, I’ll just walk the 20 miles to the nearest Amazon warehouse. Like others said, the app has become SO slow and it’s crashing just about every time I’m on. I’ve cleaned the junk from my phone without changes. I just noticed a new issue yesterday. Sometimes when I want to go back a page it brings me to the home page. I love Amazon and rely on it for items I can’t find anywhere else, like a certain type of syringe needed for my son’s meds. Please, PLEASE address these issues. Thanks!

  34. The items in my cart just disappeared which is extremely frustrating adding what I want to buy and going to purchase the items and them not being there. The items didnt even go back to saved items they are just gone. And searching through my saved for later takes so much longer now that I can’t scroll through the lost and instead have to tap, “load more.” It’s highly annoying.

  35. New update made it worse. Before, I could see which item has been shipped and which not, just by looking at them in my orders and now I have to click on each individual order to see the shipping status. Also, items that haven’t been delivered used to be highlighted with different color and go to the top of the list. Now orders are randomly black and green for no particular reason and are listed by date you ordered them. So some processed items appear below those that have already been delivered.

  36. Amazon please fix your app. It can become incredibly buggy to the point where the app has even closed on me. Another thing would be the search engine. I can look up something and get something entirely different. I’m sure if i looked up circles on your engine it would give me squares. Even the filters don’t work right. Example. If i choose the filter “Physical Copy” it literally also chooses the “Playstation 4” filter on top of it. Why? I chose “Physical Copy” so why can’t i get what i chose?

    12/28/2022 App keeps loosing my browsing location and defaults back to the home screen. Still sucks. 12/1/2021 The app keeps resetting and losing where I was browsing. Overall the app works okay. The last update causes it to reset to the home screen when moving back and forth between apps. Very annoying. The app is slow when you edit lists. Changes to the menus have been terrible.

  38. The app is way too sensitive to taps. Half the time when I’m just trying to scroll it’ll mistake a swipe for a tap and take me to a page I never wanted to view. Also constantly creeped out by the “shopping livestreams” section and wish I could turn it off, or at least not have it autoplay. Some of us are on limited data plans, don’t waste it on video streams without my permission.

    Please get rid of the new video autoplay feature! Whoever thought is was a good idea, what were you smoking? I want some of that! 😁 Tracking map is RIDICULOUSLY tiny! Why not expand it to the whole screen? It’s not like you can’t – you do it for Fresh, why not do the same for all deliveries? Also, sorting by price stopped working recently. Pretty frustrating.

  40. Apps are amazing. I’m very grateful for them. That said, COULD YOU PLEASE FIX YOUR APP?? It’s crashing all the time or forgets to load links, going to blank white page. Searches are cut short by the app refreshing. I had a seller send me an image in the app messages to clarify a product description and I CAN’T OPEN IT! PLEASE fix your app.

  41. It’s ok. A little lagging in speed. But they should make a section for items that you saved to lists that are now on sale. I always prefer to purchase items on sale instead of full price. I’m a sale and bargin shopper. So I’ll wait for something to go on sale, but will likely miss the discounted price because I don’t live on the Amazon app. Then I miss out on a purchase and the seller misses out on a sale. And no, I don’t care about the lightening deals. I care more about things on my lists.

  42. Not a problem with the app. DEFINITELY a problem with Amazon. The last couple items I’ve ordered were exorbitantly late, one I’m still waiting on. It arrived at a destination yesterday and didn’t move at all today. I pay for prime for quick and efficient delivery of items and that is not what I’ve been getting. Pretty close to canceling my membership and buying from my local area or just start using E-bay

  43. App works fine. Amazon does not. It once was a reliable service. Now, they promise same day delivery and make sure to charge you for it in your yearly membership, but it usually doesn’t show up til the next day. Some deliveries take months.. Projected delivery times frequently change. If Amazon retained a steady, reliable, and well-paid workforce that wasn’t overworked instead of their high turnover rate, they would likely be more reliable.

    Please remove the moving pictures of products. You guys changed the app so that now each product moves in its own tiny video as I scroll and this makes it impossible for me to process information or do anything. It short circuits my brain and I have to just close the app and not purchase anything. It’s insensitive of you to auto play product movements. Please, please give an option to turn this OFF. Thank you.

    App is a little slow at times. And I just realized there’s no questions and answers section. Not sure if it’s for particular items but what I was viewing doesn’t have it. I need info about a product. Scrolling is getting stuck while trying to scroll to the bottom to read more info about the product. When I want to favorite an item it went from a red heart to a black heart to save to your list. Do not like the black sad and depressing.

  46. And new problem with the app and “my lists”. Now i can’t acrually click on anything. I can see the stuff but what good is that if i can’t purchase it? I’m trying to go through “my lists” for some christmas shopping but the update won’t let me scroll all the way to the bottom of the page. It says I have to load more items but when I press it, it says an error occurred and to try later. Every single time.

  47. Product ads have gotten so bad in the app that finding what I’m actually trying to buy is almost impossible. I’ve found myself going into actual stores lately to find name brand products. Three or four years ago, Amazon’s shopping experience was awesome. Now it’s unbearable. I WILL look elsewhere for products before Amazon now.

  48. This app is trash. They allow you to buy with no problem, but if you try and view your orders, it absolutely never works. I was trying to do some returns, and I couldn’t bring up the order to be scanned. It was very inconvenient. It’s very rude to think that there is no problem when taking your money but viewing orders or returning them are not allowed. Make sure you print out all the return slips before spending the time to drive to ups for no reason

  49. More Than Satisfied!! I’ve never had any issues with the app or general website thru all the years I’ve been using Amazon & their services. I love the convenience of the app at my fingertips. I’m always ordering something for work, myself & family/friends. I enjoy browsing, as well. I really like the “help” option & “message center” – anytime I’ve had a question. Someone is there on the other end to assist me immediately.

    These new email notifications are equivalent to dial-up. They look unsophisticated and don’t always link up. The sort-by-price filter doesn’t understand the concept of simple mathematics(30 is more than 40). It’s just a shame u can’t add, move or delete multiple items at once in ur lists. I can’t even write reviews for the correct product. Instead it brings up past reviews for SIMILAR items especially if it’s the same seller.

    Why are the reviews hard to access? Have to press the review section multiple times. So annoying. Shopping experience changed for the worst. I use to enjoy shopping, strolling through pictures and reviews. The pictures are very choppy, uneasy to scroll through, there’s a stutter/hesitation between pictures. I have to swipe hard, 2 or 3 times to get to the next picture. Zooming use to be smoother.

    Horrible app! Extremely slow and non-responsive. And I’m sure Amazon has done this on purpose– now when you want to initiate a return through the app you must tolerate the incredible slowness going from one screen to the next, then once you have put all the information in and click “continue”, the app just plain crashes.

  53. It was ok but this recent update ruined the experience. The app always used excessive data but now it is terrible. Somehow browsing for 10 minutes uses more data than watching a 10+ minute video on YouTube. Since this update the app is extremely laggy and even heats my phone up which it never did. Not only that but sometimes pages don’t even load or when they eventually do they are missing half the stuff requiring me to go to the previous page and try again. There’s plenty more wrong…..

  54. Holy hell Amazon, you have a major damn flaw. Tried contacting support through the odd customer service menu. Found a small “contact us” after navigating a bunch and trying to search, but it only brings me back to the main menu. click one of the tabs like “something else”, but it only asks me to sign in…Which I can’t..Because you keep asking for a 2 step OTP… From my old number, which I don’t have. I even changed my own password… which needed approval… From my email. Still stuck. Stupid.
