Unfortunately, I need to change my review from 5 stars to 2. Though the app says there’s a monthly subscription option, there’s no way (that I’ve found) to purchase it in app, I only see the annual option. I’ve been back and forth thrice with customer service, who insists there’s an option in the Google Play store to buy a monthly sub, but I can’t find that either. That said, the original points below are still relevant. – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – Couple of things I really like about the app: 1) Lots of short meditation options. I stay really busy with work and kids. It’s nice to be able to sort on duration and find a good 5-10 minute option. 2) I like the option to layer a sound on top of the coach. You can add in waves, forest, river, etc. You can also mix it so the coach is quieter or louder against that sound.

So helpful, easy-to-use, and most importantly: relaxing . There are types of meditations for every need, both short or long and informative courses, too. I was(still am) a beginner at Meditation and Mindfulness, this app has helped me incorporate both into my life seamlessly . I highly recommend it .

Really good app, however when listening to the sessions, I wish there was a bell or just a pause before going to the next session, instead of the sessions just playing on a loop. It’s better than constantly looking at the circle with dots to know when my 4 minutes are up, especially if you have your eyes closed while meditating. Can you please fix this!!! Otherwise the content, lay out is good. Another great addition to my mindfulness apps. But please consider adding bell at end of each session

I find it hard to concentrate and relax when the voice is using complex words in rapid succession. It feels like the voice is a student paper using the synonyms option. It’s trying too hard to sound smart. Keep the language simple in the “Get Started” section or you will lose people before they ever get to other sections.

Very good app. There are problems with it though. If you start a meditation and stop you will start all over. So annoying. Also when the startup meditation is completed most other programs are paid. Which kinda defeats the purpose. They have a few timed ones, but they don’t focus on anything. Very frustrating if you suffer with anxiety to find out there are few things to listen to unpaid. It has been helpful but all in all they made it to make money like most “calming” apps.

  9. The content that is free is very high quality from several different guides in their own style. There are a handful of meditations and sessions for free and timed/guided meditation. Quite a number of options for trials as you use it for the paid subscription which is where the app really shines. I’ve got hours of sessions available on various subjects and categories, so of them so far are very high quality. I had no problem picking this up as a total beginner to meditation and mindfulness.

  10. I’ve been subscribed to this for over a year and it has suddenly started crashing every time I try to play any content. I believe the problem is since upgrading to Android 12. Power cycle and reinstall have no effect. Really disappointed because I can’t sleep right now and this is normally what I use to try to fall asleep. Get your QA act together.

  11. The guided meditations could be sooo much better! They feel rushed & are the very opposite of soothing/relaxing. I felt like I had the same amount of anxiety if not more afterwards. I did enjoy the timed unguided meditations though. I really liked the bells because they kept me present in case I just so happened to wander off. I also thoroughly enjoyed being able to toggle the depth of the sounds which is a nice added bonus to my meditations & focus. All in all, I don’t recommend

  12. I’ve tried both the Mindfulness App, Mindworks, and Headspace and while all 3 have their merit this one is the best if for no other reason than one feature the others don’t seem to have: the option of a background sound. That one feature helps with my concentration immeasurably and makes the Mindfulness App a cut above the competition.

  13. I have been trying to find an app to help my sister calm down before going to bed but we could not find a free app. I just wish there were two different versions. One would be the free version but with a little less applications or amount you can do and the other would be the paid subscription to get everything from the app but still making the free version fun and available to use when needed.

  14. Love the meditations, I’m a huge fan of several practitioners with recorded meditations which is why I pay for premium. However as I’m listening there is some sort of feedback/noise that sounds like a tape recorder clicking or rolling over something repetitively. Not sure if it is the app or from the recordings themselves. It is while I play background sounds so maybe it’s that?

  15. Best simple meditation app. Edit: Although I have to point out to the developer team, although I appreciate the effort, the lastest update, at least to me personally, is a lot less aesthetically pleasing. I’m referring particularly to the timed mediation sections. Seems like a step back. Thanks again for your effort however!

  16. Brandon dice:

Easy to use and start. Has a large variety of meditations to choose from. The subscription to access the majority of content is reasonable as well.

  17. Honestly a great app to use for meditation, a couple months ago I had decided to learn how to meditate, and I chose this app because I thought it looked quite good. I’m glad to say that the app had lived up to my expectations, the UI is simple and I feel like I could meditate anywhere with just a few clicks. I had some issues with the timer not ringing at the end of the timed sessions but the bug is fixed. I recommend this app to anyone who wants to start/continue their meditation journey. 🙂

  18. I chose this app because it comes from the same developers as an older one I’d transferred from phone to phone and now suddenly needed began nagging me about potential incompatibility w. my new phone. I wanted more meditations and worried my app would quit on me, so I subscribed to this one and the large selection of quality content didn’t disappoint. My niggles are how easy it is to accidentally delete downloaded stuff and that I can’t order or organise my favourites.

  19. Very useful. I have a very stressful job and listen on my break. Helps get me through the day with a calmer frame of mind.

  20. I am completely overloaded: disabled by 3 chronic pain conditions, an 84 year old mom who I take care of and undiagnosed ADHD. The stress has me in a constant state of overwhelm. Since beginning use of The Mindfulness App, I have seen a quick improvement in my quality of life. I feel more clear headed and better able to handle daily stressors.

  21. A J dice:

I love this app. I’ve come back to it several times over many years. I like that there are such good free portions and that it offers brief meditations that are quality. I always feel more in control of myself and my life after I use this app. It really blesses me ❤️

  22. 5764830 dice:

Good content in English. If you want another language I would not recommend it. It’s also a bit messy, the way is organised. But for me it’s better and more advanced than Headspace. I am satisfied.

  23. N Sood dice:

Not sure about content, but according to duckduckgo tracking monitoring app, this is the worst on my phone. Only today it has made 7 attempts to access 34 pieces of information from my phone, which is nothing short of outrageous and nothing like what other apps I have on my phone do. App deleted.

  24. I Like Your Simplicity. Keep It Up. I Like Writing. Where Can I Post My Writings For You To Read ?Let The Nature Be Our Subject Of Writing. It Is Beautiful, Charming And Spiritual. Pramod.

  25. It helps with My anxiety depression brings me to a relaxing mind and body

  26. Mostly good, but there is a really distracting and annoying feature that I am unable to turn off. During every silent meditation, bells ring at various points of the meditation. I’ve tried to turn them off in the settings, but they continue regardless. Unfortunately, i’ll have to try another app, as the bells are too distracting.

  27. A great help to help you practice your Mindfulness regularly and relax, control and release stress and gain perspective again. I would love it if you could also have a choice in which voice you would like to hear though. You can select which background noise you want, which is wonderful. I also wish I was told in advance that you have to purchase some things to make more use of the App. However because the main female voice regrettably irritates me, I won’t be purchasing more of this. Hence 4 *

  28. I think the app has a lot of potential and clearly has lots of content. I have the full version and there are a lot of everyday things this can help with. The voices in all of these are extremely annoying, American accents with Americanised words. The voice should be a helpful guide like that in the Headspace app. This is stopping me from completing ANY of your meditations.

  29. I’d never felt the need to engage in any mindfulness sessions until recently. A few close friends have, and seem to find it useful. This app has been a great introduction to mindfulness. I’ve only used the free sessions, but they are nice. The app is easy to use, and isn’t particularly pushy with regards moving you on to the paid for aspect.

  30. I’ve been using this app for years and have found it is the one I return to again and again. I like the simplicity, the fact I can personalise, the rhythm, sound and content of the guided elements. I use this app when I teach meditation in leadership training and ask the leaders and managers to create an ongoing practice. It’s also available in a few other languages which is a bonus.

  31. The app works OK, even though I have experienced problems with the audio sometime – the meditation starts but there is no sound. Another thing, which might be just my personal taste – I find the voice and the diction of the instructor (Catherine Orzech) quite annoying and distracting at times. On the plus side – this might be considered an exercise in staying focused despite of distractions. All in all – a good app worth a look

Despite one of my last complaints has been heard (and fixed), there’s still one problem left for me: in the Timed Session personalized mode, I set the bells to ring one time at the beginning and one last time at the end, but it keeps ringing two times by itself along my daily 40-minute meditation routine. This needs to be fixed, then it’ll be the perfect app for me. Thanks for reading and giving me the needed feedback on my last bad experience and I hope you folks could make this twice!

  33. This is my updated review after some months of using (with subscription). First there’s some fantastic content – some of the heavyweights of the spiritual and mindfulness movements – Pema Chodron, Tara Brach, Jon Kabat-Zinn to name a few. Content wise it’s first class – great courses and many meditations on all manner of subjects. However, the app has a few bugs. First when you save a course as a Favourite, then go back to the course navigation through the Favourites menu item none of the sessions will show up. Ergo it’s impossible to navigate through your favourite courses because it’s a waste of time. You have to find the teacher, scroll through their list of meditations etc find the course and enter that way. Second – for each teacher their list of meditations and courses are mixed into one big list. I’d suggest their courses be in a separate list to make it easier to find them. Thirdly – if you exit the app while in a course, sometimes when you come back you are locked out. You have to shut the app or navigate to it’s home, then back to the course and it will appear unlocked (I have a subscription). These are minor things but they do make using the app annoying. That said buy the subscription for the content – it’s really quite astounding how good the content is. Five stars but if I could give 4.5 I would because these bugs have been there for ages and don’t appear to be getting fixed.

  34. The app mindfulness is a superb one that will guide you, how you will pass your day, will meditate for a duration to enjoy a smooth, Jolly, and cured life. This is the app which is prepared to make you sincere to manage a daily routine to be healthy for the secondness of life. Download the app for your own shake.

  35. Wonderful app for anyone wanting to learn to meditate and for seasoned mediators. All kinds of new tools to discover all the time.

  36. I love this app. I’m updating my comment to thank the team for creating helpful tools I use daily, and for focusing on us as a planet of individuals seeking improvement and not on dwelling on our differences. There’s too much divisiveness and tribalism in the world today, and this is my sanctuary away from all that. This is a place to relax and heal. My soul thanks you. ❤

  37. This app is wonderful. The words inspire. I am sitting in a bar, experiencing balance with my phone to my ear and feel elevated. Thank you!

  38. This app has helped me more than i ever thought possible. I use it multiple times a day and I’m loving this journey of mindfulness. Fantastic app!

  39. I think I should go back to no.1 so I can keep to national when I have just receive very bad news of my cancer not improving from my last operation. The black from light was very difficult to keep. David

  40. It updated and allowed itself to start push notifications. I hate push notifications so this app actually caused stress instead of reducing it.

  41. Good app. A few choices of meditations, from guided to silent ones. I like the background sounds e.g. waves on the beach etc. I particularly like the lake mediation, which is free. And the timed sessions, which offer flexibility depending on busyness and moods. It would be good to have more free choices in the app.

  42. Really helps create a discipline for taking time out to breathe and relax. I’m a real beginner but already after a few weeks I feel more confident and less distracted. I’m even sleeping better! The premium courses are excellent and very helpful. The subscription may seem a lot in the beginning but it is worth it.. it will change your life for the better

  43. I love this app. The variety of teachers and styles of meditation – from the more traditional to the more creative – make meditation an adventure, a pleasure and a journey with guidance at my fingertips. The only things I would ask for in addition to what is already offered are 1) more variety in traditions, ie., some Native American and African, in addition to other non-usual meditations and teachings and 2) more women teachers/guides. All in all, I treasure both the app and the time I use it.

  44. The app is Helping me to pause and be more self aware , and in the present. It’s becoming a helpful habit.
