  1. I use the service often. I enjoy how it tremendously, however there are some issues I have. There are times where the driver will cancel the ride when they are only a minute away. The route to the pickup point or drop-off seem to pick a longer route. There are several times I’ve ordered a Lyft to get to work, but a 10-15 minute ride turns into almost 30 because the GPS takes them on the surface streets rather than the faster freeway. It’s frustrating when you have somewhere to be on time.

  2. It seems like there was a bug in the lyft app. After I got dropped off at the right spot (right at the front door of train station), in the app the ride did not end. It showed the location as being -1k ft further away, on the opposite side of train tracks where someone cannot easily drive to. After the driver dropped me off he had to drive another 20 mins to get onto the other side of the tracks so that the ride would end.

  3. App completely crashed at the airport and didn’t even tell me the price of the ride before I even booked it. After waiting a few minutes of getting no information of a car or driver, I canceled the ride and was hit with a cancellation fee. That’s BS. Your app glitches and somehow I’m getting charged. Scammers! At least let me know how much my fare will be before I book it, that’s clearly a glitch and I shouldn’t have to pay for a cancellation fee!

  4. The drivers are fine, they get me where I need to go safe and sound so I appreciate them. But I dislike when I call a ride, it gets half way to picking me up and then all of a sudden it randomly switches to a driver further away. It happens almost everytime I need a ride to work. It’s very annoying, the first few times this happened, I let it slide but now it’s started to frustrate me. Today, I’m going to be late for work because it decided to change my driver. Uber may just be the better option

  5. Unable to use the app. Whenever I search for a location it says “something went wrong”. Tried to open help, that didn’t work either. Tried to open web help, that worked until I clicked the “app issues” link, then it wouldn’t load the webpage. I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. After each install it works for a while, but when I close and reopen the app it breaks again. Running a samsung S22, stock OS. Please let me know what else I can try to fix this.

  6. Typically gets the job done but if you’re counting on them to be on time when you need them too don’t, for me under 10 minute pick up time turned into 20+ second driver after canceling was 4 mins away and never moved. New update picked up and dropped off at a location half way to my destination because the driver did not have enough charge to make it… paid double because I had to order a second Uber. Lyft customer service is non existence and has no way to directly contact someone.

  7. C Kemp dice:

I’m so irritated with Lyft. I disputed a charge for a cancelled ride via the app and got a message saying I’d be refunded the money in 7 days. It’s been a month. There’s no way (that I’ve been able to find) to contact an actual employee (phone, email, messaging) so there’s no way to actually get help. I don’t recommend the app…unless your ok with BS charges on your credit card that you can’t easily dispute with the company.

  8. Lyft experience in San Francisco: this company’s service has completely deteriorated within the last year. I can’t count on the estimated wait time, drivers are either cancelling rides or forcing me to cancel, and the app has closed off any opportunity to provide this feedback so I have to take it to the app store. It’s really painful to say, but in San Francisco of all places this is no longer a reliable form of transportation.

  9. Amy M dice:

I can’t understand how the app and website for a well known service can offer such a horrible experience. All I wanted to do was schedule a ride for someone else at a certain time. There was no way to schedule a ride and also change the rider or at least just leave a note. When I put in a certain time, all those options disappeared. If I selected another rider, the option to schedule disappeared and I could only get an immediate pick up. Super frustrated with the scheduling experience.

  10. The map doesn’t work. I’ve been taken to the wrong location 3 times, 2 of which was my work place which the map keeps telling drivers is at a location two streets down from where it actually is. The contact us option doesn’t even have an email or phone number to contact, instead I have to select a subject and explain what happened to dispute something and “dropped at the wrong location” isn’t even an option. At the end of the process it wouldn’t let me submit it due to some error

  11. Usually have problems finding a driver. I understand drivers are not always available, but there is no indication that you will be unable to get a ride before you book it ahead. Made me very late to work a couple times because instead of finding alternate transportation, I was waiting for the app to tell me it cancelled my ride. Otherwise great service, especially in populated areas.

  12. All but one experience have been very good. That one was not the driver’s fault it was your app. I asked a day before for a pick up at i think 2 & they sent the driver at 12 so I cancelled. I checked it & the hours I put in there were correct. I tried getting your company to correct it they didn’t do it. Also one day about a year or 2 ago I tried using LYFT a third time in one day & that rejected it. So I had some one else call for a driver. So those are 2 problems . Drivers are excellent!!!

  13. Last month I used the service twice. In both cases, the rides came quickly and the drivers were friendly even if a little too talkative. I’d give those experiences 4 stars. The app no longer works while mobile. It only works if connected to wifi. Over several weeks in different locations I’ve tried numerous troubleshooting steps. I can no longer use Lyft because of their app.

  14. The app is difficult to navigate. I scheduled a ride. Noticed the drop off address was incorrect. The app would not allow me to edit the address. Additionally, when I attempted to schedule a return ride, it kept entering the same incorrect drop off address(now the pick up address). Submitted screenshots to these help feature. They are still working on the issue…I guess. Got tired of waiting for a resolution.

  15. On 04/25/22 I used the app to get a ride. The total distance of this ride was only 2 miles. I put in the drop off address and then was told by app my ride would be there in a 3 minutes. This is typical. I was picked up in a beat up Ford escape. When I get to my destination a few minutes later(which is approximately 2 miles away). I look on the app and was charged 40.00 dollars for a 2 mile ride in a clunker. I did not select any special features on the app. This is a total rip off..

  16. Service and drivers are good, but the app, which is what I’m rating, has created a new issue (or new to me). The “confirm and reserve” button that was introduced is to me a consumer concern as it DOES NOT show pricing before booking the ride. You have to back out to get the pricing options. This needs to be changed to an opt-in option at best. With demand pricing, this option can best be seen as a lottery game (one in which only lyft wins).

  17. Paul Metz dice:

Beware! Pricing is not accurate! The app functions well enough and is easy to use, but if you use be sure to take screen captures of the prices offered for rides because sometimes the price actually charged ends up being two or three times the original price cited, and the built-in feature to dispute the fare is pointless.

  18. The actual experiences are fine and sometimes cheaper than UBER; however, this app sucks. I’ve almost missed a ride several times because the app didn’t notify me that the driver was outside while my phone had the app in the background. Right now, I ordered a ride, and the app crashed. I couldn’t get it back on, so I basically had to wait outside the entire time to make sure I didn’t miss my ride. The app definitely needs more work.

  19. They charge a $5 fee for cancelling even when the driver is dropping off another customer and the wait time is long. There is a good chance of waiting the full time for them to drop off and getting cancelled on/passed over by the app/driver when it’s your turn and then you have to wait again. It happens a lot and nobody credits me $5 for the inconvenience. Why should I be penalized for being able to find a faster alternative?

  20. Ash Rom dice:

Like many people have said, I have no issue with the drivers. The problem is the wait time. I’m constantly late to work. It goes from waiting for one driver and gives you a certain wait time and then switches the driver to a different one. im so frustrated with this app and for the price it’s ridiculous.

  21. For the last at least a dozen times I can use the app to get to my destination. However when I’m done 10 minutes later I cannot reorder a lift as for some reason I am still stuck in the original screen from when I was getting picked up. It will not clear so I have to end up taking a cab back, because for some reason after the driver drops me off I cannot go to a clear screen and order a Lyft to go home. I mention this to all the drivers and they have no idea why

  22. Still a bug where it sometimes chooses a different driver when you minimize the app… It says you can minimize it and it will let you know when the driver is close, but then a push notification says a completely different driver will arrive. Sometimes much later than the initial selection. Happened three times in a row this time.

  23. SCAM. Prices are complete BS. Oh, I can save $5 by waiting 30 min? What about when my driver is constantly taking wrong turns and adding to my pickup time? Where’s the discount for when the service is messed up? All these things to charge the customer more, but we have no say when the app falls short. What an aggravating experience everytime. Different prices for different people at the same time. Refresh and it’s more expensive. Just garbage.

  24. Tia Begay dice:

While it gets you where you need to…it’s a hassle and they want to charge up to $40+. The drivers go to the wrong pick up and start the wait. When a driver can’t find their way to your location, they call and tell you to cancel even if it’s a $5 cancelation fee. Multiple drivers drop and its an even longer wait.. These situations were frequent and I would be late to work. That stress eventually built up and my tardiness added up. I have a mood disorder and this app triggered me. 🙃

  25. App is glitches, I tried to cancel a ride because I didn’t need it at the time, and couldn’t because the app wouldn’t show me the driver or if it had even found a driver, just notifications and the screen to put in your destination, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still same problem, ended up getting charged for the ride and the cancelation fee. Please fix this app.

  26. Ly T. dice:

Scam ride share. I was charged while a driver was giving a ride to someone else. The driver got paid from both me and that person from both our accounts. Customer service refused to refund. I ended up paying and never taking a ride. Then I asked them to remove my credit card from the app so that I can close the account and not worry about more scam charges, and guess what…. They refuse to remove payment information. So even if you delete the account, they keep your credit card info! Beware.

  27. App glitches all the time, whenever I need to request a ride it takes so long to load the map even when on wifi and I can’t enter a place until the map is fully loaded. Once the driver ends the ride, it stays on the screen as if they hadn’t and I’m still in the car at my starting location. Fix this now I can’t keep uninstalling reinstalling and loging in every time I request a ride.

  28. Ruby T dice:

Used to prefer it to Uber but app failures caused me to stop using it. The app routinely fails to find locations on the map or remember my pickup and dropoff history. The worst part is that it doesn’t tell you when the driver is here and doesn’t understand you’re already on your way. I am literally in the Lyft right now and it still says the driver is finishing up his previous ride. Not sure how they manage to go from 100 to 0, but sadly going to be my last trip today.

  29. I’m not sure what’s happened to this app, but the reliability of where your driver is, if they’re on their way, and any notifications have become terrible. I had requested a ride this morning where the app searched for drivers for a few minutes before starting the process over, so I took a cab. Halfway through my cab ride, the app alerts me that my Lyft driver had arrived, but I never knew that were coming!

  30. I’m new to Lyft and it’s App, so navigating the App was not as user friendly as I would have liked. I was just checking to see the price for a ride to the airport and the App told me that the driver would be arriving in 6 minutes ??!! I tried to cancel in time, and apparently was able to do so. But, it was not obvious how to cancel. Otherwise, everything else went smooth.

  31. It is a fine app, however rides can easily jump people depending on what I assume to be priority, there have been people I gave a decent tip to but forgot to rate and probably tanked their scores because there is no way to go back on it. However the biggest problem is how it just flat out does not work on data half the time.

  32. A driver cancelled a ride on me because he couldn’t find the pickup location, and they charged me a cancellation fee. I tried contacting customer service multiple times. Each time they respond without reading my messages because the responses didn’t fit my issue. It’s impossible to get help. I’m bringing it up with my credit card company. I’ll never do business with Lyft again.

  33. Developers need to consider common use cases I have two phones, installed on primary, used once, battery died, switched to second phone, installed afresh, prompts me to use same email, texts and emails me code to the new phone correctly, but neither get accepted by the app!!!! I ended up installing their competitor, which worked flawless for the same use case! Go figure!

  34. My one and only experience has been horrible so far. I tried 2-3 times yesterday to find a ride to find nothing and now I have a charge of almost 9 dollars for a cancellation fee WHEN THERE WAS NO RIDE FOUND IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!! Only redownloading the app to try and get this charge resolved as if someone was actually found I would have waited running late to work or not.

  35. The navigation system that Lyft uses is faulty…my drivers always go the longest route possible and have problems locating where I am for pickup. I give the same work address every trip AND have told many drivers about this problem but it keeps happening. I don’t know why it’s incorrect but once you’ve been notified that it’s a problem it should be fixed.

  36. The app works fine when I turn on VPN on my phone. But the app is not usable when directly on my carrier’s network (T-Mobile) – addresses suggestions are not loading in a reasonable time and the app is just acting like the internet connection is extremely slow. It might take several minutes to place a ride request. Of course for most users in this case, Lyft app closes and Uber app opens. I hope it is a bug in Lyft app and not T-Mobile intentionally throttling Lyft traffic down.

  37. The scooter didn’t work, so I hopped off and ended the ride. Except the app doesn’t work either, so I went to support, but the multiple choice help page doesn’t cover that and there’s no further help options I can find. A lot of these issues existed last year too, but what a start to the season to run into all of them at once. I guess what I’m trying to say is use someone else like NiceRide or Uber or Lime

  38. Great! There’s always options with Lyft. U can get a ride now or for later. Usually the closer you’re ready to ride, the higher the price will be. The only thing I DON’T like about lyft is, sometimes an order is placed and then lyft will send u the picture of the car on the way but then they will cancel it without warning and then send another for you to wait all over again. But overall, the app is nice and helpful. It’ll show your history of what’s been ordered as well.

  39. I generally enjoy using Lyft, however, it has it’s moments of not working properly. The app runs into connection issues/lag. I just had an instance where I was able to enter my destination but somehow the app entered the wrong information. After realizing this, I attempted to edit/cancel the ride, but nothing responded. Leaving the driver clueless and me with a fee. I can’t contact Lyft neither because of the issue I’ve mentioned. That’s not helpful. The app states they’re having the issues too.

  40. The latest updates broke the app. I can barely even load into the app, and when I do, it just sits on a blank screen for 10 minutes. It OCCASIONALLY works after restarting my phone twice, but the bigger issue is that Lyft has a dev team that only consists of 3 monkeys and a typewriter, so none of these issues are being fixed.
