  1. This app sucks. 1st, when you try to use it to do something that you are able to do with online banking (like an external transfer), it says you are not eligible for that service. Then when you try to cancel an external transfer, there is no button provided to do that. So now, HAVE A GREAT TIME PAYING OVERLIMIT FEES! Also enjoy the frequency of having “wait and try again” messages. Too bad you thought your mobile banking experience was going to be fast and convenient

The app is much easier to use then their website is, which I’m glad for, because whenever I’m trying to access my bank accounts, I usually do it from the app because it’s impossible from their website. Would definitely recommend if you have trouble with passwords, since you can use a thumbprint to access your account. However, it does take a while to process and load once you’ve made a deposit or withdrawal, which could get annoying if you’re anal retentive about some things!

  3. In 2021 I upgraded my phone and the app changed. It appeared to be more user friendly and hadn’t exhibited bugs so I raised my rating. 6/15/22 I love fingerprint access, allowing secure entry sans password. Also, I protected my assets for travel, transferring money quickly with a few key strokes. One minor gripe; Mobile deposit would not accept eChecks printed for deposit. The photo capture worked but, upon pressing, “deposit” refused to accept the “successful” image capture.

Edit: don’t know what’s going on, it isn’t allowing me to deposit a check like it usually does, it’s BS, also the hold steady feature is annoying when it’s steady enough that I can see my own signature clearly and it still won’t take the picture, do you guys want me to pull out my tripod and take a photoshoot of the check or something, what’s worse is the manual works way better and doesn’t complain, and then it tells me “we couldn’t see the signature” wha? It’s where the template said it should

  5. This app is very convenient, but a warning about mobile check deposit! Today I had a check that processed last week returned as “un locate acct” and was charged the check amount + a $20 fee. I spent a lot of time figuring out what the issue was, contacting the check sender, and going to the bank. The issue: the app mis-scanned the last 3 numbers of the account number. It’s sorted now (+the fee was reimbursed when I asked). Be careful to verify your routing + account numbers!

Tried to install app without Wi-Fi but would not install so I connected to Wi-Fi and it connected immediately the trick is taking a picture of a larger check it takes a few times but I was successful what a fun experience being an older adult I have now moved up into the 21st century. This time I deposited the check without Wi-Fi and it went right through. So much easier than driving to the bank which is not open at this time and going through the drive-up window. In 2022 it still works perfect.

  7. This is a very handy app for depositing checks, transferring money between accounts, paying bills and checking my balance. Annoyingly, the app crashes with frequency, which can be very frustrating when it is down for a few hours or a whole day. Sometimes very quick actions get lengthily delayed.

  8. Overall I’m very happy with this app. The convenience is great. The only reservation I have is that when making payments or transfers to my other accounts the submit button does not always work. It requires pressing the buttons more than once. Ironically, the app warns you that pressing more than once could cause multiple payments/transfers. So far this has not happened to me. Easy Peasy! Sweet! U S Bank, rocks!

    I’ve used the app only for wire transfers. Good intention, poor implementation. It’s annoying to use and unreliable to the point of unusable sometimes. – seems the back-end service is unavailable sometimes, esp. on weekends – doesn’t support landscape mode => one-finger typing required – forgets a “saved” recipient I’ve used many times. – superfluous prompt for the source account: I have only 1 eligible. – froze on the last screen with the confirmation to send, so I had to start over.

  10. As a US Bank customer, this app is essential to all your banking needs. The app is clear and concise and functions extremely well and exactly as intended. I pay multiple bills, keep an eye on my transactions and work on building my savings. I can make changes quick and easy and with a quick sign in, seeing all my accounts eases any anxiety about my finances in seconds. Highly recommend!

Works well to deposit checks and transfer money from one account to another. 6/1/22 Update on app. When I try to take a picture of a check to deposit, the app no longer shows the check with the guide lines. I just move the phone slowly around, until it takes the picture. I do not have this problem when taking a picture of the back.

  12. Easy, safe, and convient. The app is super easy to use for account balances, transfer money between accounts, get statements, and view routing and account info. I never have to worry about my account being compromised with this app, and I have the option to sign in using fingerprint instead of typing a password.

  13. This app sucks! They change it all the time for the WORSE! Constantly getting notices saying “Something went wrong”. Then you call the number the prompt gives you, wait 10 minutes on hold only to get a “sorry for the inconvenience but there’s nothing we can do”. You’d think a bank could afford an app that’s reliable.

  14. WORST BANKING APP!! If you use the biometrics option you get locked out of your account! I have lost count of how many password resets I’ve done in the last few weeks because it thinks that someone’s trying to hack into my account when it’s just me using my biometrics to login. It makes since that the failures of their app match with the failures of this bank. Transferring Banks as soon as I can!!!

    Clunky and not fully ready for prime time. Can’t read check endorsement 60% of the time while making deposits. Can’t actually set alerts or notifications through the app. When I tried contacting US Bank they didn’t understand what I was saying and didn’t admit to there being an issue with their product. Frustrating to say the least. I hate Bank of America but their mobile banking app is far superior.

    It is easy to use once you find where you do things on each page. It has become very cluttered, harder to understand with all the info where the activity use to stand alone. This has gotten better. Now I can’t see copies of checks/transactions. NEEDS FIXED!

  17. I use the app mostly to deposit checks. I prefer the computer except for a quick spot check of balance or a specific transaction. I am really disappointed that this app no longer works in Opera Browser. Now it occasionally works in Opera in private window. But doesn’t work consistently on computer or phone. It has me wondering if I should switch banks since they closed the branch half a mile from my home, and the online service is hit and miss.

  18. The whole purpose of an app is quick access. That’s kind of impossible when the app won’t save passwords or recognize fingerprints. The fingerprint scanner works for literally every other app. Not worth having. If I have to type in my password everytime than I’d rather just use a computer.

  19. After the last update, I’m no longer receiving push notifications from the app, most importantly to my banking needs, notifications regarding transactions. I’ve tried everything in my phone settings along with notification settings within the app. I’m no longer receiving notifications in my status bar and I’m rather frustrated!

  20. The build of the app is good, the response of the app is great. The bad is if you don’t know your way around it’s easy to get lost in the app. NEEDS ATTENTION: The balance on the app does not match the website and is very misleading. I incurred some overdraft fees because I wasn’t aware the app was wrong. Even with me overdrafted it shows me positive with the website showing me negative. Please fix this. Make sure balances match

  21. First, this is set up for a cell phone only. It shows a small screen, not what you want on a computer or tablet. It’s hard to read, especially for those with some vision problems. Basically, it needs to go through user testing and it does not appear that it has. Second, it is difficult to figure out how to make payments. Once again, the user interface team is lacking. I regularly spend about twice as long in this app as I should have to.

  22. I signed up for purchase notifications (from the very beginning of making this account) for any purchase made. Seems like with the last few updates, I’m not getting the push notifications for purchases and I’m getting quite frustrated as this particular feature gives me peace of mind with all purchases I make. Checked the app to make sure I’m still signed up to get push notifications and I am. Not getting them anymore. Issues with changed email address as well.

  23. Application is easy but their software is super slow. US Bank software, it’s always behind. I have to account for my own checking account because US Bank can NOT keep up with me. I spend very little money. Anyway, customer service is okay at Ontario, OR but the data system itself can be rather slow. Overall, not the application at fault. I would rather bank elsewhere.

  24. Basically does what it needs to do. Layout and navigation is improved over earlier versions. My biggest gripe, with US Bank remote banking is an ongoing issue which has existed for the entire decade that I have banked with them. Mainly the frequency with which one attempts to do something online, only to be told “sorry that feature is currently unavailable. Please try again later.”

    It works great. Even with the most minimal of cellular service I have been able to manage my account in times where it was crucial for me to have access to my bank when a physical locationis not available. Its very easy and convenient for me as a self employed individual to keep track of all finances on the go especially when on contracts away from home. I would highly recommend this app for any and all people who have an account with U.S. Bank or are looking for a quality bank in general.

  26. Great way to keep a closer eye on your bank account at the touch of a button. Just be careful! The current account balances and pending transactions have been known to change as the system updates and due to glitches. Keep track of your transaction totals to insure the app has it correct also. Turn on alerts!! They are super helpful. 😊

    I do like this app and it’s very convenient. But sometimes the balances are confusing as to what’s really in my account, what has gone though and dates are inaccurate. I have a bill that automatically comes out every month at the same time but I don’t see it for a few days…but, later it WILL show up as the day that it was supposed to be processed. It’s confusing and misleading.

  28. I prefer this app to their desktop site. Everything is better organized and works a lot faster. Things like money transfer and Zelle are so much better on this app. The only time I’ve had an issue is when this app opened while in my pocket and it decided I was trying to log in with biometric info. It kept trying to read my fingerprint over and over until it locked me out. Ended up being a nightmare trying to reset my password.

  29. Had a great experience… until my notifications on all purchases quit working as of this past Sunday night/ early Monday morning. I have reset my settings, called US Bank customer care and still no resolution. All my settings are correct. I need this to work ASAP!! It’s a much needed feature that I have come to depend on. Wish I knew what caused it to stop.

I used to be content with the app, but recently it refuses to load Account Details when I tap on it, same with transfers, and it makes me close out the app because it freezes on the loading screen. Just before trying to view details I was able to make payments just fine, so it isn’t a connection issue. It’s upsetting because I’m unable to view pending payments and see what the real amount I have on my cards is.

  31. Outstanding application for you banking needs. best I’ve used. Update: Transfer to external accounts really is difficult. In addition, if you use biometric access and your body is not perfect (such as an overworked finger), then you are forced to change your password after three tries. This is a big hassle.

  32. Mobile app lacks standard features that are available on the full website, such as the ability to view and manage external transfers. In addition, your account will be locked for 24 hours without explanation (other than “there is a problem on our end”) if you attempt to log into the app while connected to a VPN (I use one for work). Lastly, this is not specific to the app, but US Bank needs a paid expedited external transfer option like Wells Fargo has – 3 business days is often too long.

  33. Very disappointing! The app works fine until I attempt to make a payment. It gets stuck on a Pay Bills screen with a blue circle that keeps spinning. How can you drop the ball on this important step? You getting paid should be a seamless and streamlined process. I deal with this every month. I usually get through after the 4th or 5th try. That’s totally unacceptable for a banking app!

Worked great until the most recent update; now it opens to a page full of offers and statistics and I have to search through 20 different pages just to see my account balance (“View Accounts” menu option just goes to the statistics page). On top of that each page takes 10 minutes to load. With this setup it’s easier just to call.

    Newest update is terrible!! App constantly freezes and it no longer shows my balance. I’ve spent 20 minutes just trying to check my balance and it won’t show me! It just shows a few recent transactions, after it shows me tons of ads, trying to get me to do other stuff with the bank other than my checking account. There seems to be no possible way anymore to just look at my balance to see how much I can spend when I’m out and about. I cannot GO HOME AND USE THE COMPUTER EVERY TIME I NEED TO KNOW!

  36. I really appreciate having the app, and greatly appreciate the recent changes improving the mobile check deposit! You’ve helped me a lot with that!! My only remaining suggestion is that often it’s still not easy to see what you want to do: you have to scroll down or see a tiny arrow to click on, and the small print size and color contrast aren’t easy to read. Everyone gets tired sometimes, and most people have poorer vision from texting, so help would be appreciated!

  37. Everything about this app is great except for bill pay. Recently they did a change to bill pay and messed it up completely. It is now very hard to use. Whatever idea was needs to be removed from their position. Previously I could set up reoccurring payments for every 3 months two months four months however I wanted. Now it only allows every month or every 6 months. Who’s idea was that? The usability of bill pay is also much worse.

    The app is less glitchy than it was 6 months ago, but the user interface is still very immature. For example it shows a big green check mark square and the word done under it. If you click on the square, nothing happens. You have to click on the tiny word “done” to proceed. Customer service remains non-responsive to queries.

  39. This app only works half the time when i try to deposit paper checks electronically. The picture taking worked, then app shuts down. The app also interferes with other apps like the ring tone. Lost the ring tone, then got it back when i uninstalled this app. Not recommended until they fix this bug. Update on 11/16/19 The app is much improved. Worked seamlessly, takes less than a minute to deposit a check. Beats driving up to the bank! Feb. 8 UPDATE: Works great, fast, user friendly.

  40. I could not set up shared access! The app says you can set up either “view only” or “view and transactional”. The app defaulted to view only and I could not change it! If using biometric finger print and the first attempt isn’t recognized, use your password! Dry skin may not read and trigger a lock out after to many attempts resulting in needing to reset your password.
