  1. I love this feature and constantly find myself using it for more things as I became more familiar with it. I’m not a “tech” person simple and straight forward as possible. I’ve never had any issues of any kind after about a year and a half of constant daily use so I definitely recommend familiarizing yourself with this very convenient way of keeping track of information readily accessible for quick viewing. Also great to cut and paste from other apps to proofread or edit.

My favorite thing about this app is that it automatically saves…you can put in a message and not have to take that extra step. With all previous notes apps I’ve used before, you had to click the ‘Save’ button and some of them also required you to save it to a folder as a pdf so you had to find the folder, etc. This has a Save option, but it’s not required. Great app and simple to use.

  3. I heavily rely on the notes app, and I have few complaints! I wish there were more bullet point options and that we could “tab” in to create more of a tree structure, like using bullet points in Microsoft Word. Also it bugs me a little that when you search for a word, open a note and write in it, when you hit “back” it goes back to the search; i selected a note and wrote in it, I already found what I was looking for 🙂

  4. I love taking notes about everything. I also love being organized with my notes. I have never been able to be so organized with my notes on my phone until I found this. I can color code the background and the text. I can create folders inside folder and I can upload pictures into it. My only complaint is that the writing is not level to the line templates and if it can’t write on the line then it’s kind of pointless. Otherwise this is my absolute favorite note taking app ever for everything!

  5. I am an artist and writer. I use Samsung notes everyday, all day. It gives me enough space to jot down amy ideas I have for my next project. I can Sketch with a variety of mediums. It gives me access to great colors. The templates are all very useful and helps me stay organized! I am still learning, but so far Samsung notes gets 10/10 from me!!

  6. Funny thing is the ratings are always in a hurry so this is a reflection of my first impressions which may change after some longer use. I like the interface and the multiple folders that can be created. But I’m using it to begin with as a groceries list and secondary items list. So far so good👍

  7. I can quickly, and easily, create new notes and to-do lists. You title your notes and lists, which makes it easy to find what I’m looking for. I use it for the to do lists because I can ✔️ off completed list items. I especially like that the list items are crossed out and greyscaled, rather than deleted, when checked complete.

  8. use it for everything since i forget everything, never has given me any problems. cool personalized features like fonts, edits, painting, able to lock and unlock notes, share. my only wish is ability to edit where i want which notes to be, instead of automatically having them pin to the top when you change something in them. i want to be able to shift them around according to my personal relevance. other than that, helps keep me on top of everything.

  9. This is a simple, but effective note app. I use it for everything from grocery lists to taking notes in diving classes. The list function is my favorite; being able to check off items is very handy. Just discovered the ability to add pictures to my notes, which is an awesome feature.

Just plain sucks. The option for saving and transferring doesn’t work. Making an account to do so is a joke. Contacting devs is pointless about the only thing good about this app is that it is useful for jotting things down if they are on you’re mind. But if you have to hard reset any device better email you’re self the info or loose it and be ready to start from scratch or just plain loose it.

  11. Jc Val dice:

Is good to keep notes handy, docs and much more. However when exporting notes with multiple scans it gets files too big opposed to reducing quality. If this feature was available it will be great. FYI, not so fan of Apple but when scanning in notes there files are reduced to be handle very good. Also, would like feature to reduce all hand written notes for arrangement with more flexibility that currently available. Great beyond these. Thanks.

  12. Pretty awesome for all sorts of important info. Even just for grocery lists, it is perfect. Only issue is the crazy stuff that happens when you try to add a picture or something. It pretty much Y2Ks what you’re working on and you can’t undo anything, so whatever you were working on needs to be started over.

  13. love it. great for on the go and to keep, TO do List, grocery list, important notes, and random things that come to mind. All in one place, always where ever you go and when you need it without having to carry bulky notebooks and pens. Fits right in your pocket and on the go. I highly Reccomend this app to anyone who writes alot or keeps Lists and notes. Different kinds of templets, colored pages, and documents, This app is A Must have in any phone I ever have. my Note 10+ came with it already

  14. I tried this app today more carefully. Now it’s similar to S Note; specifically “S-Pen to text” feature. Even more; I can’t believe that I can set pencil opacity! That’s a great job. I still remember the first release when we even couldn’t have text and pencil trace beside each other. But now, it’s different. the templates numbers are more than before; with changeable background color. Please keep this way for making this app. It’s hard to find a note taking app with high productivity potential.

This is a really great app for saving your notes. It even lets you draw with your samsung pencil which is awesome!! I have always loved the notes app. HOWEVER, I would NOT recommend you use it to put your personal informations, like your logins and things like that. I would recommend you write personal things like that elsewhere, like a physical journal you have in real life. I would hate to see a review about someone getting their personal info snooped by someone or something.

  16. Susan B dice:

I like that I can take notes and upload pictures to add to the notes for work. It lets me create folders as well, so I’m able to separate the info which makes it easy to find. Have been using for years, but with my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, it’s super easy to scribble notes down and save it.

  17. Anna Moya dice:

Notes keep me organized, focused, helps me save time and energy. I have used this app for many years and it has not let me down. I have always been able to retrieve notes/lists made ten years ago. I use it for groceries, recipes, packing and for work memos. Love its versatility especially, when I am able to open pdf files through this app. It has saved me so much heartache, so many times. I am glad to have this app in my life and I am sure many will agree. Thanks to the creators of this app❣

  18. Best Notes app for the money. NO ADS! …and more than sufficient features for any need short of a full word processor and there are NO ADS! The developers update the app regularly to keep its function modern. And there are NO ADS! …..we are all forced to watch advertising on at least a couple apps that we use, probably more than a couple for most folks. Samsung Notes is a highly functional FREE app that is kept modern and glitch free and it has NO ADS! AAAAAAA+++++++

  19. Mason L. dice:

I wish the checklist could be checked and unchecked in read mode since doing the checking and unchecking requires a single tap. The templates don’t line up either. Anyway, if you tap a checkmark box, your phone shouldn’t interpret that as the beginning of a text input. Especially in read mode.

  20. I do like Samsung Notes but wish the screen “locked” after saving. Would be so much better because when accessing, the only way to ERASE is by using an “edit” option. Sometimes if in the grocery store and I make my list using Notes, the screen is always “active” and I many times accidentally erase items because it doesn’t “lock” what I’ve typed. (If there is a way to do this maybe I’m unfamiliar with that option 🤔 so please inform if so.) Thanks.

  21. It is one of the best note taking apps I know, first of all, presentation is key and the icon and the app are pretty clean. It has a desktop version as well. The only wish I have is that it would sync with Google Keep as well because I have a lot of notes saved there.

  22. It’s missing a pretty basic function. The ability to archive notes. Also when you check items off a list they just stay where they are. Who do they not go to the bottom like most apps have them do? Also web accessibility should be an option like Google keep

  23. So I really enjoy my Samsung notes; they allow me to put down my expressions> come back to them later> edit> add> create real life content. My one limited concern is that every time I have changed devices I lose my notes even though I’ve had a Samsung account– because I changed phone numbers or email or other info. If it was in between a back up, I wasn’t able to carry over or access those notes. That said~I charge that 2 the universe & the way things go, it was a space for new creation.

  24. Shap Ma dice:

there are alot of issues compared to the old version of Snote.I like the old version more . for example – some times you need to review pages of a book very fast . but in new version of Snote , you can’t see the thumbnail of all pages clearly . they are so so small, tiny and unreadable. this is my main issue with this app. – there is no template for book cover

  25. The app I use the most! No more lost scraps of paper with important, spur-of-the-moment notes. That my handwritten notes are full text searchable is awesome. This app is why I love Samsung’s Note series of phones. My only issue involves how I hold the stylus – wants to switch from writing to erasing too easily.

  26. I don’t use the app in a super hardcore way, but it’s very good as a quick notepad. Plenty of simple functions in the way of formatting, text properties, etc that help me to keep things organized. For the casual use-case, definitely enjoyable.

  27. ColorMeB dice:

Better than best paid note app(evernote). Less features but for organizating notes this is quick and simple yet powerful with as many levels deep as you want. books need 4+ levels of organization (folder for all books – individual titles – world names – characters, laws, places in world – various details on these things) and this app makes this easy unlike evernote with only 3 levels (stack, book, note) and no way to go deeper. Folders make it easy to separate books from notes on other things.

  28. I absolutely love this app. I’ve always been a big fan of Samsung from the beginning, so that’s number one, but this app is amazing. I can make my lists, keep up with random notes, I can make tasks and send them to other Samsung users, change the background color, everything. This app is pretty amazing.

  29. the new features are amazing, more than I could ask for in a ‘notes’ app. I’ve been using this app for notes for quite a few years and have always loved that it seamlessly transferred devices but I wished it had the bells and whistles of other note apps. now it does. thank you! I love it! It feels like a simplified word or Google doc. The abilities I have to modify my notes is fantastic in my opinion.

  30. Another pos app from Samsung that I would never use and don’t need or want, taking up space and undeletable. It should simply be illegal to force unwanted, unnecessary apps to be taking up space on my phone, especially when they are neither essential for the operation or compatible with my device. Also, there are much better note keeping options. I paid a lot for my phone with a lot of memory and I want complete control over how it is used.

  31. I find it to be essential for every shopping trip I make. Before I used this app. I would come back from the store forgetting to buy items I had previously planned to purchase – even when I started carrying a written list. The advantage of this app is that there’s two less things to juggle while shopping; a pen and paper. I have to carry my phone anyway – both to add/ clip digital coupons on the fly, as well as fielding the inevitable last minute request to buy an item.

  32. Jan Dawdy dice:

I would like to be able to save or freeze a particular note and be able to undo any changes back to that point. I use this for my grocery shopping list. While shopping and looking at my list and keeping it open, I frequently find that I have either inserted unrelated characters in words or have deleted much of my list. I tried using the lock feature but that does not prevent inadvertent changes.

  33. I’m impressed with the features. At the moment, one of my favorite pens keeps resetting to a different color, which is very frustrating, but I imagine it’s a big that will be fixed in a later update. Out of all the things Galaxy Tablets & Galaxy Notes can do with the stylus, this app brings it all together with incredible value, in my opinion.

  34. This is a great tool for quick dictation, writing down ideas, making and adding graphs, or other things that come to mind. My complaint is certain updates mean relearning old functions or how to use new ones. If you don’t like a change, but are able to revert to old version, no other functions work. Hence my 4 stars!

  35. I love the notes app, HOWEVER I recently just switched phones from the A6 to the A13, and for whatever reason ONE note didn’t transfer over because my phone no longer supports the formating. This note was for my passwords, so I obviously just copied it all down again. The only problem is that the app pesters me to update it every time I open it, just to say, “you have the latest version, but one item didn’t transfer so we’ll let you know when this content is available.” Please make it stop.

  36. I love Samsung Notes! Very user-friendly and a lifesaver for me. Due to recent illness, I now have memory issues, and I have to keep everything written down. So all appointments events, and reminders go in my Google calendar, and lots of other things go Samsung Notes! Pretty much anything and everything! It is just so versatile that you can use it for all kinds of documents, copy and paste projects, just anything and everything. I highly recommend Samsung Notes!

  37. I like this app well enough to keep using it, on the off chance I may still need it! The auto save feature is BEST! Im easily distracted & often close EVERY app at once, w/out thinking about the important things I was working on that day. I REALLY, REALLY, DID like the way my Samsung notes app transfered to my next phone during the data transition of new phone purchases. BUT! I dropped the score to 3, because it DIDNT transfer to this phone during purchase a yr ago, & I LOST SO MANY FILES!! 😭

  38. it would be nice to be able to set up the text in print ready form to print off notes and lists in a reasonable size so that when choosing to print, the text doesn’t print huge and take up 4 pages instead of just 1 or 2. other than that, this app seems to be very functional and handy for all sorts of everyday note taking.

  39. I love this App!!! I use it far more often than any other pre-installed item. I use it for grocery lists, to keep copies of medication lists, to-do lists, even as a rough draft and proofread tool for long items for web interaction before copying and sending. This Tool would get 20 stars if it were possible. If you haven’t looked at it, or used it, give it a try… You won’t be disappointed!!!!!!!

  40. Causes everything on my phone to crash. No matter how many times I uninstall, download, clear the cache, if this is on my galaxy, it causes every other app I have to crash. The notes app itself is great, but I wish I knew why it was causing my phone to repeatedly crash. I even took my phone to a Samsung repair center, and they told me the issue is not my phone and to just use a different notes app.

  41. I enjoy that I can control a lot of my text simular to a computer. My only complaint is that, I wish there was a way to search and categorize things by keywords. You could use the search function in any open folder or go to “all files” to do a big search. Ex. Having a “Recipe” folder, instead of having sub folders for “sweet” or “salty” have keywords, because sometimes one item can be both, or add on to it, “healthy” “cheap”, narrow down your options easily. I have notes of my notes to organize.

  42. They literally just changed it where you can’t customize your pictures in notes and put them side by side! So annoying! I’m going to have to find another app that doesn’t fo this ridiculous and constantly chnage things. People don’t want to have 20 freaking pages of pictures because they can’t put them side by side anymore!

  43. I’ve used it for years. I love it for writing notes, drawing or doodling or backing up an article I write. In case a glitch happens while online when submitting, I just copy and paste from Notes. I do use it quite often for work related things and from phone to phone…. all throughout my phone updates. I highly recommend.

  44. I’ve been using this app a few years. A good note-taking app that is not complicated and has a few different features for versatility. Would give it 5 stars if it successfully backed up the notes. If anyone out there knows how to backup the notes to the PC would be very helpful. When I spoke to someone at tech support they claim that the Smart Switch PC software doesn’t allow you to back up Notes and when I try to sync to the Samsung Cloud I get an error message
