  1. This app works great. Does everything a file explorer should which was a feature my phone was strangely lacking from the start. Has a dark mode, nice looking interface, and the ads can be clicked off without having to sit through them like other apps. That brings up my only complaint. With how nice this app has been and how much I love it, I wasn’t about to find any purchase option to get rid of the ads. Something that, for a very select few apps, I’m willing to do.

  2. Great file management application. It is a significant improvement on the system file manager on my device, an S9+ running Android One. The ads are unintrusive and occasional. Even though I have bought the ad-free upgrade, I believe the application works well, with or without the ad-free upgrade. I like the option for a dark theme. The UI and functionality of this app is superb, it is not as clunky and slow as I would expect file management to be on a phone, rather than a computer.

  3. ” Found 47 big files, you can delete the unimportant ones.” ” Found 250 videos, you can delete the unnecessary one.” ” Clear all unimportant data.” What I want to know is how your app decides what’s important to me and what’s not. When I actually opened up the files that your app is telling me to delete it was things I wanted to keep: photos of my children, copies of voicemails, and videos and pictures that were in my main gallery. I actually hit clean up on one menu and regret it. Gone forever

  4. Dear xiaomi developers, i hope you hear my feedback. As a professional ui/ux designer, I’ve been a big fan of this file manger. It is awesome. But there is one simple but important feature you need to add to this app. when you browse in a folder, If there are multiple photos, when you open one of them, you can’t simply swipe left or right to see other photos inside that folder. You have go close the photo, then open another photo, this is such an important yet simple feature. Pkease add it

  5. Absolute mess. It is filled with bugs especially with the file selection, it won’t even let me choose what FOLDER to use and instead bugs itself out by making me choose what FILE to use, which is obviously not how it should work. I want to pick a folder to use for my documents but I seriously can’t get to because of this app, and this being a system app to my phone doesn’t help at all. This is very frustrating and I’m really questioning about your phones’ quality.

  6. Meh. Downloaded this to find files I download from my home computer while out and about. Unless i physically move the files to a specified location it cannot find them. Which is the only reason I downloaded the app. It needs to be more above file structure where you can unhide the hidden files. I can easily find the files if I connect my phone to my PC. I’m looking for an app that does the same. This app does not.

  7. No company, in my opinion, should remove ans replace ANY default core apps, like phone, calculator, and file manager etc. and replace it with BLOATED ADWARE. It’s also one of the most frustrating layouts I’ve ever seen in a file manager app, with no options to change it to traditional side by side or tree view. It’s full of pop-up ads that appear RIGHT where you’re tapping, resulting in a whole chain of webpage opening, ads popping up there, 3 more browser tabs open, and so on. Horrible.

  8. I had hopes for this but ended up deleting it shortly after using it. I wanted to have a good file app to transfer files from one folder to another. This takes WAY too long. 17 files took over 2 minutes and the progress meter doesn’t work. Other apps are able to move files much faster so there’s something different in how this one moves. So I have moved on.

I’m reassessing my first review. So within the past few updates the app is working better than before… But it’s still very hard to find files. The app needs to have a list version to apply when trying to find a certain files name. It’s hard to go by just the picture showing up when the files are of videos… And the app feels a bit cumbersome. I do like the fact within the app everything dated.

  10. I love how this app shows miscellaneous thumbnails and unnecessary files in one place, and also duplicate images. I was able to remove 40+gigabytes of junk. I use my phone for a lot of art, and it also has the section so you can use your data transfer adapter and easily save files to an external drive, micro sd card within or outside your phone. A highly functioning app that is worth the download.

  11. Was a great file manager, but now it won’t stay open for longer than 15-30 seconds. Constantly crashes on Android 12. Also run it on a tablet running Android 9 & another phone running Android 11, neither have the crashes. Fix it! Update: Uninstalling since it still constantly crashes. There are better file managers on the Play store.

  12. Fast, simple to understand. My only concern is I’d like a folder for apps. The redundancy of having apps located in settings sleeps be outweighed by having all you information in place. This app also has the added benefits of functioning as a clean up app. Remember, only clean out cache, junk files, duplicates, temp internet filed you don’t need. Clearing RAM means your phone uses more battery and time to open them again. Android already has set rules to manage memory.

  13. An all rounder files app, contains ads but you disable them from the setting. Why I give it 5 stars? Because of the response I got from the team behind it, I asked for better support for .webp images & bam in less than a weak they fixed it. Edit: I gave it a 1 star rating because with the last few updates the app gets me to the start screen everytime i open a file in some folder.

  14. Overall, a good experience. There’s a bug though. Some folders when opened, gets opened from scrolled down view, like in the middle. I have to scroll up for some folders. Also, it would be great if you could add tabs like in Mix file explorer. Also, to copy or move a file, you have to select the destination from the first, like press copy<(shows internal or external storage)

  15. There is a bug in this file manager which stops me to delete any files through this app(even I’ve updated this app many times) every time I try to delete a file it always shows a message for grant permission access to SD card , but I go through the process but it always says “Can’t access SD CARD”, and I searched all over the internet but i can’t find any solution, I have to unmount sd card to delete files, but this isn’t a solution. PLEASE FIX THIS PLEASE !🙏 Update: thanks for fixing bug.

  16. With the new update, when moving a file from source folder to destination, the source folder doesn’t refresh automatically, which wasn’t an issue in the original version. Therefore, after updating this app, I am force to uninstall the update just few days later. Please fix this issue.

  17. I really like this app it does what it was built to do! The only problem I have with it is that it does not follow the window command as in if I have the UI on auto-rotate. It will not auto-rotate only standard mode which I use landscape to type in my notes and play some games. This would be a very good update to add on.

  18. Good file manager. Private files folder however, does not retain sort order when closed. File manager should also allow file associations to be changed. Video files can only be played by its built in player.

  19. Gia dice:

Good app to manage the files. Not too many ads and very easy to use. Could improve the filing of the documents, sometimes hard to find but mostly really good.

  20. After new update if you select files and later send files it comes to same place and if close or try to click on cross top left it will close file manager instead of current pop up. Secondly it is never showing videos thumbnail. Refreshing time is bad. Sometime it is not working. It takes hours.

  21. There is only one problem. the thumbnails of the videos are not showing up. For example, if you are looking for a video, you must play all the videos until you find it, and this, for me, is excessive work that could have been avoided. As for the application, it is very excellent i hope you fix that for us 😇

  22. AW dice:

Actually this is great file manager app with some basic and such++ functions related to file management, with some small problem, maybe some security problem, ads/tracking problem, etc as such. That make me still stick at M#xpl#rer as main app for file management with advance functions.

  23. It’s the best file manager I have found so far. Or at least… it was… It has a friendly and easy to use UI and has a lot of functions. But in the new updates you force people to use mi video as a video player which is a terrible app that takes ages to launch and has ads everywhere. At least the ads on the manager itself can be disabled but the mi video thing makes watching a short video a chore

  24. I am not happy with this app. Speed of moving and Copying files is worst. It takes years to copy or move something. And you, also not have an option to run the process in the background. If you put files on move and you want to use something else in the phone and try to run the program in background by tapping home button.. you end up in cancelling the process. This app is disaster. Update this app asap!

  25. Please Provide the option of send /share folder to the “Home screen”…. Its will provide a customer Experience better. Must needed option as we can simply click on Folder from home screen of mobile. Second thing…Google drive option is not working.error showing”This app is block for Google Drive”

  26. As a primary file manager for MIUI it’s a great app but yeah it’s very bad when you want to move data to an external drive because it has a high latency. And this app doesn’t support SD card.

  27. Sridhar B dice:

Very hard to use the ui for senior citizens. Especially the image and video sorting is not easier. Grid view is preferable for easy use. Sorting by recent or drop down by application or folder wise are harder while comparing with other inbuilt file manager apps…

  28. Provide something better atleast, like one drive connects in file manager. Transfer apps directly via file manager so we don’t have to backup apk for that. And i request please change overall look of this with the help of grid, flexbox and much more.

  29. This is the best file manager I’ve ever used, modern and beautiful UI yet unbelievably stable. Mi really surprised me I didn’t expected that I’ll ever download and use a File manager other than the built-in ones. The UX is on another level. thank-you very much

Its a good file manager . But you can improve it. When i pick a video from file manager to watch after ending the video when i go back to file manager its closed .and now you explore from start to watch another video from that folder

  31. A Simple, smooth & modern interface are what most phone users are the happiest with (including myself); This app delivers such & then some. I’ve used every app available & this app, as well as FX File Explorer are my forever favourites 💕★ Absolutely recommend!! ★★ Wm. Cole Hanson ★ m.me/Chevrolay ★

  32. Whenever I’m transferring a file from my phone to an external hard, if screen turns off it will ask again where to paste files. It ruins the whole moving process and some files will be damaged.pls fix it

  33. Ronnie D dice:

Worst File Manager ever. No thumnails for Images and Videos & that cleaner brush icon is extremely irritating as it is totally unnecessary to be embedded within any file manager. Also, recent files and folders need not be there. It only indicates your intrusion in users phones. Also give an option to uninstall your file manager completely so that users can download a better one from Play Store and use it instead of your pathetic file manager. Why do your updates show “Contains Ads”?

  34. The new update is too bad. Most of the documents, videos, audios icons are disappeared. Worst Interface.. Previous version was much better

  35. Need operation to be done in background also. While copy pasting files. It sucks when it stops working when when I open another app or when backlight turns off.

  36. The WhatsApp cache feature is not working for a long time. WhatsApp changed its default media folder location the feature stopped working. I thought the app will update itself. But it’s been so long. Either fix it yourself or add a option so that users can change the default folder themselves or remove the useless feature. What’s the point of keeping it when it doesn’t work at all.

  37. Not very easy to setup, at first it refused to open the external usb stick although it was ticked to allow access. (Drive can be accesed by the tablet with less problems outside File Manager) Eventually it opened and files could be seen… Forget about running or copying files, it had no problem deleting files though. It could be the android version, the brand of usb drive, the .Mp4 files, an act of god or all of the above… Not a positive experience with this version of file manager

  38. It’s such a nice app. But how can I change by privet file’s password? I forget this password😢 For new fingerprint setting I can’t see anything of my privet file🥲

  39. Can’t extract large files, can’t rename multiple files at once, can’t have access to Android data and doesn’t have multiple windows where I can easily switch through folders whenever I want to copy or move files. That is how a file manager should function.

  40. This was probably the best file manager app for Android but I switched my SD card for a larger one and now it can’t access the SD card no matter what settings I adjust so I have to replace it. It’s been a few years but since it’s not working anymore it’s time to move on.
