Cool game, this game USED to be a lot fun. There is lots of ads in everytime you play. Take for example, you go for a revival potion because you died in a boss battle, not only do you have to watch an ad for the revival potion, (not that i complain about it.) But you have to watch yet another ad for no reason at all! Some ads are unskipable and some aren’t. THE ADS ARE GONNA TAKE OVER THE WORLD! It is though a fun game and i do recommend you play it, it has a fun story and fun fights.
‘Tis a great game! Absolutely 0 enforced ads. My only problem is that when I try to do survival mode, it asks me to insert a username, but when I try to use it, it always becomes invalid. This has happened with all the usernames I have tried. Although, others do have a problem with enforced ads. Edit: you should not have to wait 2 hours just to complete one level.
I love the gameplay, it’s a LOT of fun! But my GAWD the number of ads is out of control. Seriously every 45 seconds to a minute I’m forced to watch a 30 second ad. I have to uninstall this game guys. I’m really sorry because I do enjoy the game, but I feel I spend as much time watching ads as I do playing the game, and that truly takes away from the gameplay experience. That’s LITERALLY my only criticism.
This was great! This was a really good little fighting and platforming game. The only thing I don’t like isn’t the ads it’s just the timer so you have to wait to play a new level!:( but besides that this had a nice story going along with it. The areas you go in are cool, the bosses are nice and challenging and the awesome fighting skills you can get. And you can watch videos kind of like a series. All and all this is a really good game! Overall rating 4 out of 5 I would recommend.
It’s the first game I ever got, and I love it, it’s great!! It’s challenging to get past the end. But, I rated four stars beacuse I feel they should continue the story line. Make a second game where I can still keep my levels and get even higher! And the art for the app logo is getting worse. But other than that, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR??? DOWNLOAD IT!!!
Would be a great game if it didnt have ads blowing up on my face. The game is good and the story itself is ok, but the ads are everywhere. Once you finish a level, the next level will be stuck on a timer for hours unless you watch an ad or pay for a membership. One of the side stories cost 5.99 and the other you have to get all gold trophies in adventure. Who released this game? EA?!
This game is awsome! The battles, the boss battles, the fights, even the story. I never played a game as good as this. I love that it’s challenging, and it test your platform gaming skills to the max. Even on hard mode, and on arcade mode. But the boss, and the main story (this might be a spoiler), can’t compare to the frosty plains levels, enemys. They were challenging, but the boss was really challenging. Please don’t change anything in this game. Best game ever!
It’s one of the best games I’ve played and I don’t plan on uninstalling it anytime soon. However, I’d like to make a couple suggestions: 1) Add an online Multiplayer that’s unlocked at the end or something, if it was unlocked at the end it would be kinda like the web series and it would give more of a rewarding feeling to the player. 2) Allow the player to use their custom character as their halfbrick profile picture.
The game is really good overall. The action is solid, the music is great, and the graphics are very unique. There is also a good amount of content available, and the ads aren’t too intrusive, but an ad every single checkpoint is annoying. However, personally, a restrictive timer for every single level seems quite absurd. Furthermore, the ranged enemies are bogus, not only for how much damage they do, but also for how they knock you into environmental hazards way too often.
I really love this game,I really do but I think there’s two many ads,it can get very annoying at times and can ruin the experience,also you should add a co-op mode where you and your friend can play the story together,think about how cool that would be, when this stuff happens I’ll give it a five star,but other than that’s it’s a great game and I recommend it if your looking for a fun action platformer. Edit: also get rid of the timer,it’s annoying,and ruins the game play kinda.
Glitches out after nearly every ad. I enjoy the game, it is great. I also understand the ads, everyone has to get paid. However nearly every ad, savepoint or not will go to blackscreen after the ad and not transition back to the game. I will have to restart the game. Kind of lame. Update, after a little bit of time the ad issues went away. I really like the game and have beat it in normal and modes.
You can do a adsless run if you turn the internet off. As for the game it is graft. The story is a bit more complicated than the game like he want to impress lawyers. Why tho but back on the game. It should be in the hall of best 8_bit games cuz the graphics are very good and the levels are too. That all I have to say about the game. Also hard mode is harder than I thought. It is a great thing the game is free.
It’s action packed. I like the graphics and sound effects. The missions are challenging but not impossible. Acquiring the power ups should be easier. Many of the opponents you face are are armed. Your charecter should be given enough strength to knock them out or down with one blow. ( In my opinion) I also think you should be able to jump higher. Other than that this is one of the best fighting apps I’ve played.
forcing me to wait 12 hours, or watch a stupid amount of ads before I can “unlock” the next level is ridiculous. oh, and once you get far enough into the game that changes to 24 hours. the game glitches a lot when ads come up, especially when I try to watch an ad on purpose. fix the glitching/freezing and don’t make me wait between levels and you have a 5 star game. and you could add a description of each mini game
Overall its a great game However there are some things that should be done. First of all there should be accounts, i had this game on an alt device and lost all my progress which at the moment, isn’t a big deal but just to ensure that someone can save there progress is a big deal. Second they need to implement a PvP mode, i dont know if they can or if the combat system would work but if they can it would be fantastic. And make no ads purchasable option. Overall great game.
I love the game, it’s just like mario or sonic. The customizing is alright, there really wasn’t that much to choose from, please add more items. The story mode is very interesting, BUT when you’re finished with story mode. You can buy other story modes??? (Idk what to call them.) The timer before you can go on to another mission, it really limits the fun. Over all not that bad of a game, just a few updates there and there and i think this game would be perfect
Hands down the best game I’ve played in a long time. The controls are simple and handle smoothly, the fights fun and fast paced, and the load out of weaponry is awesome as well. There is one issue that I’ve had but I’m not sure if this is the game center or the app itself. Whenever I get an achievement, the game freezes the controls while the achievements text displays for like 5 seconds. That’s a lot of time to stand there and get wailed on in the middle of a huge fight.
If you literally stopped forcing me to watch a 30 second add at EVERY save point, this would get a star higher. I shouldn’t have 2 minutes of forced ads for a 5 minute level. If you could rotate between projectile weapons or at least chose to keep one of have anything that says how much damage it does in game, that would be great. As it stands, gameplay is fun and gives you reason to revisit older levels. But I see no reason to level any character other than the one I’m using.
I really like it. Its simple, but in a creative sort of way. Id definitly recomend it. Edit: so they did a big overhaul on the game recently where the game speed seems to have trippled. This does make the game better in my opinion, however the change has forced me to relearn how to play because my timeing has been thrown off. If you are new to the game, it wont be an issue. Its just a bit annoying. Still 5 stars because of how awesome the game is! Definitly consider getting it. Youll love it!
Watch a long series of ads, occasionally broken up by an extremely half-assed beat-em-up. In the rare moments when you actually get to play the game, the gameplay is extremely bare-bones and mediocre. Nothing particularly interesting or unique compared to the most basic examples of the genre. But don’t forget the humor! Watch the devs air humping after every victory, it’s *super* funny and *totally* doesn’t get old.
Dan the man is one of the greatest action platformers I’ve played in years! The levels, and bosses are really unique. Leveling up your character is pretty quick and easy as well! The adventure mode is great too! And the spike in difficulty is really fast, setting up a new challenge for all ages! So does hard mode! Hard mode is also really fun! The only bad things I can say about it is the adventure mode lags like crazy sometimes. Other than that, great game!!! Hope there is a sequel soon!
This is a great game, with good controls, platforming, and storyline. The character design and the cutscenes are great. The only issue is the fact that ads are pushed a lot. It’s pretty unfair, considering that the game has a lot of paid features. But every single checkpoint, you need to watch an ad. If you broke a statue? Ad. If you clicked on the wrong item in the shop? An ad. Just get rid of some ad features. Then I and many others will give a better review. For now, 3 stars.
Great game with good controls and several play modes (story, survival, multiplayer, adventure). Only two major downsides: 1) Story mode needs more content, a new story to play through. Normal and Hard story line can both be completed within a week or so with fairly minimal play time. 2) Ads often break: no close option is presented, or when a close button is tapped the game freezes on a black screen. This can cause you to lose your progress, especially in Survival mode.
The new multi-player came out and I really love it, but there’s one big problem that caught my attention. In some multi-player battles when there is a boss fight, the boss is able to fight before the players can move causing us to die before we can even move. This always happens with the machine gun boss. Also, there needs to be a balance change with the jump boss. He is incredibly easy and beaten in a matter of seconds. I love that the devs are still working on this game! Thanks
Thank you for correcting the issue with ads being displayed after paying for premium. Question: is it possible to include in the options menu the ability to move the controller position to the player’s liking? The direction pad is spaced very far apart and it would be so much better if we could adjust the position of the direction arrows. Thanks for a great game!
Pretty cool little retro-style platformer. Graphics are purposely pixelated, controls are tight and precise, and the levels are pretty decently sized and challenging. Plays well with touch controls. I bought the premium version for $2.99 to eliminate the ads, but even the free version is fun. The ads don’t break the game, i just like to buy the game i enjoy to support the developer.
this is honestly one of the most entertaining mobile games ive played. im not the type of person that spends money on mobile games, but this one is worth the premium price in my opinion. the only gripe i have are the controls, not being able to customize them is a minor annoyance. if you accidentally move your thumbs, you mess up, sometimes costing your life. being able to place the controls any way you want would be perfect.
i love this game. only downfall is that i would love to be able to arrange my controls where i like on the screen. other than that, its fun, addictive, and able to be played for free without needing to make additional purchases later on. great job. i expect nothing less from the makers of jetpack joyride. you guys always kill it with the games you make. keep it up.
This is the best game ever! The graphics remind me of those 1980 Atari arcade games. The gameplay is excellent, the controls are SUPER responsive, and I like how there’s 3 storys to choose from. The only downfall is, that you can get Frosty Plains for free if you get all gold trophies in adventure mode, but you have to pay 5.99$ for Fright Zone. And the ads are a bit out of control, but otherwise, this game is amazing! totally download it for a great time!
Post update: Cannot play!! The ads do take time to get used to but it’s not an overwhelming amount of ads. Sometimes they have in game sales. Thank God for that because the game asks for too much money. Pay for premium. Pay for characters. Play for other miscellaneous stuff. I don’t like to play games that come up with various ways to get my cash. have to pay $6 for Barry or I can’t complete levels in adventure mode. Barry should never be $5.99 in the first place. Jump button doesn’t jump often.
I’m having an incredible time with this game. The controls and hit boxes are solid and the story is lots of fun. The only gripes I have is that you shouldn’t have to pay for the DLC, the final boss is incredibly hard, and it’s difficult to play your own music over the game, like I’m already playing my metal and it just cuts out, even with sound effects and music turned off (But the music is pretty good).
I really love the slightly retro feel to the whole thing, and the secrets are awesome. Cons include a bunch of forced ads (which technically can be removed with $$$, but…), a somewhat grindy economy and that the stars for completing different aspects of levels aren’t fleshed out or explained at all. Also I just recently unlocked Hard Mode, and during cutscenes some enemies have the upgraded colors, while others (notably the first boss) don’t.
A good arcade style fighter. I like the idea of 2 diffrent characters, not including the character you make yourself. I would say a solid 7/10. Can get little repetitive, but over all its a good game. About the ads, at times they could be annoying but having a breather between saves is nice. I say since the levels are so long, an ad after a level would be pretty fair, it would be annoying, yes, but maybe have it after 2 levels, or keep it the same. Im not a person who makes games.
This game runs VERY smooth. The advertisements only happen after levels, not right in the middle of fights. There’s optional ads that ALWAYS reward you. The upgrades aren’t hard to earn up for. There’s tons of coins in every level, treasure chests with 250+ coins on the map, there’s customizable characters. I could go on. I love this game. And premium is literally only $3!
Very good! Most of the game (incuding hard mode) is awsome, though the only problem i have is that the last few levels seem to spam forced battles, slowing down the flow of the game. other than this, the game is almost perfect. I do have an idea, a level editor. I have a feeling that this would be very difficult to program. I dont feel like giving any extra ideas, as I feel like it should be up to you to design the level editor, as you are the creators.
I love this game but there are tons of flaws. Game play and story are great. Difficulty spikes really quickly and controls can be a tad off when bouncing but it reminds me of your classic beat em up style game. Too many ads at every checkpoint and you have to be online to play new levels. Cooling off period to unlock new levels is insane.
Dan the Man not only has like the best name ever, but the best gameplay ever to see the app store. The ads are hardly in your face, and often times your getting something for watching those ads. I’ve played a lot of games that have really cheap deaths. Deaths that push you away back and forth, draining your health bar to oblivion. But in this, it seems to launch Dan back up to where he needs to go. And the in app purchases.. are amazing. Their really fairly priced. I could go on and on. (500/500
I think this is one of the best actuon platformer games I’ve played in a while! Very fun except some of the problems it has, only problem that does annoy me is the fact that most advertisments that you can watch for a reward usually never work, mainly in survival mode when I need a starting gun. I noticed that it started when ads took me to the playstore automatically then when i came back to the game it said video error constantly, also friend invite doesnt work, other than that, good game!
Dan the Man is a great side scrolling beat’em up game. For a free game you get ALOT of stuff packed into it. The only downside is the ads but for this much stuff packed in a free game I can deal with that. Then again,$3 isn’t alot of money. ~Edit~ So after playing the game some more. There is an outrageous amount of ads. It’s kinda ridiculous how many they pack into a level. It’s mandatory to watch at least 3 per level. Then the 20+hrs for the next level.
Like many other people I think this game is great! It’s nostalgic with it’s arcade style controls and graphics. It’s all around cool, but there is one problem: The ads! Not only are there too many but it gets in the way of playing the game. I get it if you have to watch and ad to be revived but it’s irritating to get non stop ads that people will not give into.
