Overall very good. Sometimes the estimated prices are ridiculously high, but if you wait a few minutes and check again, they will often drop. My biggest complaint is that I’ve had several instances where I drivers matched to me and is shown as being on the way, and then cancels after I’ve already been waiting for a while. My other complaint is about the app itself. When you have booked a ride in advance, it can be very difficult to find it again. Checking on pre-booked rides is not intuitive.

The best ride app, out there! I have left my phone in cars, 2x. Both times I used the convenient “left item in car” and the drivers brought it back to me in just a lil while. I am so grateful. They show up on time and always get you to your destination. You can choose different levels of cars from standard to luxury to medical rides. Yes. I have ubered home from hospital. The price difference isn’t very much so it’s worth it, if you want an upgraded vehicle.

Multiple times the app will be stuck on a screen even after trying various methods to troubleshoot. I believe it occurs after an update and the Help service can’t be accessed since the app is frozen, leaving no way to get assistance. This issue persists with Ubereats as well. When the app works it’s great, but when I need it most it’s a coin toss whether it’ll work or not. It’s simply not reliable.

  4. New review. It used to work wonderfully with my address I’ve always used. For whatever reason, every time I get a ride now, they always get my location wrong yet, the location I set up for the pickup has always been correct. Really want to get a hold of somebody at Uber to fix the issue, only, in modern times, there’s never a phone number to call which is pathetic. Very disappointed in uber.

  5. Uber has become completely unreliable in my area. Even though I tip well and have an almost perfect 5 star rating as a rider I frequently get paired with drivers who aren’t even in my city. The map in the app itself will show dozens of cars nearby then send me some one 20 or 30 miles away. Waiting 40 minutes to take a 10 minute drive is ridiculous especially when the drivers themselves are frequently bad drivers, almost get into accidents, etc and the cost of the ride is now exorbitant.

  6. Very difficult to make a dispute. I had 2 drivers cancel on me and I ended up canceling the 3rd one because I had already waited 40 min for the first two that never showed. I got charged for the cancelation even though I was canceled on twice and it was very difficult to find how to get a refund and I did not get to describe or talk to anyone on why I felt I deserved a refund. Not a good system. I ended up leaving an hour later than planned and took Lyft because they actually showed up.

  7. Carl York dice:

You intentionally ask for more tips, after a tip has been given, AND you’ve designed the app such that it adds to vs replaces what was there. If you make a mistake, too bad: you can’t cancel it. Until this deceptive practice is changed, I am only using Lyft and encourage others do to the same. You can have my platinum membership. I’m not okay with tricks – esp when we are trying to do a good thing. You guys know many of us are running w/ luggage, yet force us to touch screens to move on.

  8. I use this app all the time and recently it is impossible to schedule a ride ahead of time. You can tell some woke retard changed the code to force users to use a pin on a map instead of allowing an address to be entered like before. The app refuses to work properly when an address is inputed, forcing you to zoom in on a map and hope for the best as you pin the pick up and destination. Roll back this update ASAP!

  9. The driver I think had difficulty with app( new driver) for whatever reason she couldn’t bring up a map to where she was going, but the real issue was at the end of the trip, my app said I never left my starting location. So I could not rate the driver or tip the driver or even contact. When I went to try and explain the situation, I got reimbursed my fare as a credit. Also on my app it shows that the trip had been canceled…

  10. A modern day service replacing the old-school, expensive taxi’s. Cheap, quick, and relatively reliable. You can also order food, and they’ve added car renting. The only thing thats a bit iffy, would be the reservation function. Reserved a ride for 7:05am, made the reservation a day prior, by 7:10am, no driver found. So I had to cancel the ride and created a new request for at that immediate time and found a driver immediately. With that experience as the exception, all in all, a great service.

  11. It was not easy to enter the most basic information like the destination. It even booked the trip without requiring me to enter a destination. Instead, it picked its own destination. Eventually I was able to change the destination while the ride was in progress. Also, I tried to add a credit card and I kept getting the message that the system had not updated my info properly. All in all, not user friendly!

  12. “Oops, something went wrong” I’ve tried to use the app for a ride six times this week and I get the same error message each time. I thought because there were no drivers, but I saw them on the map and got picked up by Lyft within minutes. I lost $15 in uber credit for the month because if failed to work. I do not recommend using this for anything urgent.

  13. Usually on time but once or twice uber didn’t give my driver the best directions..leading them to the incorrect pickup address. Lol Also, high prices but, it’s understandable due to gas hike! The app can be a little confusing like for canceling, setting a specific pick-up time and checking to see if you were over charged or checking to see if you were charged after canceling. I’m a happy customer 😀! One more thing..not clear on checking points, how they’re earned.. what you use them for?🌈🌈

  14. Was in Dubai, and the app didn’t let me use the credit card anymore, so i had to go to ATM’s to withdraw cash to use for rides. There was an error about a monthly limit being reached, which is ridiculous (unless they don’t want to make money). Contacted customer care multiple times, and they didn’t even know about the said limit which is absurd. Pity I wasn’t aware there’s a competitor with much cheaper rates and a better service.

  15. Honestly, it would be a good app if it wasn’t lagging. The uber eats page takes about 45 mins to complete due to crashing. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app so many times and it’s excruciating to place an order for 6 items taking almost an hour. The ride page glitches and never shows when the driver is outside. Please use all the money you charge in fees to FIX your app. 😊

  16. Drivers cancel, times to get a ride change, addresses move. And you cant rate the creep who canceled your ride last minute, only the guy who was stuck making up for him. Also you cant select multiple pickups and reserve in advance. App has those features in different areas. Get some people who travel a lot to help with your use cases.

  17. I extended pickup time for15 min. with 1st driver. Said she rang doorbell. I did not hear it. So she left. The next driver was great. Arrived on time and got me to destination. Very nice person! We discussed several things on the way and he was personable. Would work much better if I could schedule a time like other apps. That way it allows me time to get ready or reserve for later or the next day if needed. Frustrating! Need to make some changes for 5 stars.

  18. previously a 4 star rating but recently the app hasnt been working for me at all. ive updated the app 3 times and nothing has fixed, every time I open it it doesnt show my location nor any of my saved locations, it shows my account as signed in but blank, no name no pfp no rating. I cant open the settings to try logging out and back in, literally no option to schedule a ride. luckily I’ve been able to rely on the kindness of my coworkers to get me home from work otherwise I’d often be stranded.

  19. ml S. dice:

App does okay in general but when it really counts trying to disambiguate multiple of very similar addresses (Boston has same street name & number in multiple neighborhoods) then it fails spectacularly. Support is impossible to find. Uber only interested in selling you services but not in supporting when things go wrong. I develop software and know that things do go wrong and you have to support your customers. Up your game Uber.

  20. Noble S. dice:

Usually don’t have problems but there’s a glitch in the app and I can’t respond to driver’s messages or calls. My address isn’t showing up correctly on their end, but looks correct on mine. What’s up with that? Please fix this. /Update: Horrible experience. Between an incompetent driver (who falsely marked order complete), a malfunctioning app, and a poorly managed customer services department…the prices are too expensive for the subpar service. Deleted the app.

  21. Terrible. App is unuseable. Did not show anything aside from a white screen. Reinstalled several times, restarted phone, manually gave all permissions. After it reads the SMS code it gives me a white screen with the words “Around you” at the top. Gives the same screen every time I try to open the app. Uber Eats works without issue. Ride app is unusable.

  22. JB H dice:

Probably the worst app I’ve ever used. It crashes every 3-4 minutes. I can’t manage to accomplish anything in that time because it won’t load anything in a reasonable fashion. My internet connection works just fine for everything else and my phone works just fine for everything else but this app just doesn’t work. Please figure it out

  23. The app itself is ok. I can use it and all that. BUT the customer service interface is atrocious. There’s no place for me to type in what my issue is if it isn’t listed and if I do manage to get someone after searching through all the options to chat to a person I get handed off to another person. Is it within the app and the texting window? Of course not! They said they’ll get back to me by email. For the record my issue was that I can rate my driver but I cannot tip them. I’m up to date too.

  24. J A dice:

The app sometimes do not show the correct position of the car. (The app is slower then the car.) Anyway, wonderful service, mostly fair prices, correct, nice drivers, clean cars. What else we need? Never I had bad experience with Uber. (Like I had 2 times with the Lift – since I do not use theirs service anymore.) Uber is the right solution for all my trips in the area. -Thank you!

  25. The Uber app for over 6 months has not processed a pick up from my home to the airport. It keeps saying ‘oops try again later’. At first I thought it was the early hours I was requesting (5am, 530am) but I tried it at 9am and it still said I need to go elsewhere to be picked up. Getting an Uber from the airport there are occasional hiccups but not the complete denial of service. BTW, it’s a 15 minute ride from the airport and initially I was quoted $59 but it was an oops too final price $36.

  26. This was my very first experience with Uber, and I am so impressed with all of it. My driver arrived in exactly the time frame I was given. I needed to get to the auto shop where my car had just been repaired before it closed for the weekend. Although it had just started thundering and lightning, with a very heavy downpour, she was exceedingly helpful while still engaging in conversation. Based on this experience, I will definitely use the service over and over again.

  27. O Walker dice:

I’ve had someone access my account too many times and Uber has changed account information without verifying that it’s me. I’ve asked that those accounts be deleted to eliminate this problem nothing has been done. Uber needs another way for clients to contact them immediately when we see someone has accessed our accounts without permission. People steal phones and phones get lost all the time. It shouldn’t be so easy for others to access your account.

  28. When my flight plans took an unexpected turn, I ended up needing a ride back to the airport that I could count on to be on time. Local cabs couldn’t even guarantee they would have a cab available. So I downloaded Uber. Yes, it was a pretty expensive 5 mile ride, but arranging my ride was extremely easy and my driver was there promptly at pick up time. Well worth the cost.

  29. App is poorly made and unreliable. There are many bugs and glitches in the “request a ride” process (including getting stuck on a map of the world, preventing ride requests) and the process of rating/tipping drivers afterward (often only presented with option to rate, not to tip). The service is good and the drivers are mostly fantastic, but the app is really bad quality.

  30. The application is unreliable in the worst possible situations. I was able to book a car with no problems for my flight out of town. The ride was great the driver was great. But I couldn’t book another ride after that; from the airport to the hotel, or when I get back home from the airport to home. Had to switch over to a simple reliable cab. Kept projecting my payment for some reason, had no problems paying for anything else during my trip.

  31. I’ve used Uber over the past year and have enjoyed the quick easy rides. However! There was one incident where I had a driver pick me up. Everything went as normal. I get to my location and get a notification that my ride has been cancelled by the driver because they waited to long at the pickup location. I go back to my app and find that none of my information matched my previous driver that did match. I’m unable to contact Uber about this incident and I’m stuck with a fee.

  32. E G dice:

Terrible service, Uber drivers will turn off their driver app just prior to picking you up. This happens if they decide to take a break (which means they should never have been scheduled in the first place). While that is a driver’s responsibility, a failed pickup should allow the passenger to provide feedback. The app itself has a history of being inflexible when you change credit card info or email addresses.

  33. Mike Arst dice:

Does anyone ever TEST their apps? I’ve tried several times to save an address to “saved places”. It never shows up in the “saved” area in the app, which keeps defaulting to an address I DIDN’T save. That one also doesn’t appear in “saved places”—so, no idea how to remove it. Worst: The app keeps “forgetting” user data—have to start over with each launch. Enough of this nonsense—giving up on it. Want more business, Uber? Then fix your bugs.

  34. This app and service is not reliable. Every time I open it, all I see is the map. No option on the screen or in the settings to book a ride and now you are charging customers booking fees. Whenever I do get the chance to book a ride, the trip doesn’t end, not even after I rate my trip. It stays active on my screen for days. I refresh the screen, hit cancel, restart my phone, uninstall the app, browser, new phone. The trip is still there and I can’t book a new ride. Awful app and service!

  35. This is quite possibly the worst app I’ve seen on Android for a big company. Very glitchy. The screen doesn’t even adjust when trying to message driver or chat support so you can’t even see what you are typing. Sometimes you don’t even get the option to message when you try and the GPS tracking is terrible compared to Doordash for instance. Very poor interface.

  36. I usually never have a problem with this app but lately when I request a ride, a driver will accept and then immediately the app starts searching for a new driver. This may happen 2-3 times and happens on random days. It’s making it difficult when I have to get to where I’m going. I’ve noticed the drivers keep having problems on their end as well, such as the maps not loading the app crashing completely when accepting a ride, or after picking up their passenger, which isn’t fair to them.

  37. For the most part I’ve not had major issues w/the app & most drivers are great. But I mistakenly billed an old company card because the app reset it as my default biz profile payment & still won’t let me delete the old credit card after weeks of trying (so, it’s likely it may happen again). 🤦🏾‍♀️ Making it all the more frustrating is the lack of an actual customer svc team to help. You can’t automate everything. It will eventually impact the customer’s experience negatively as it has mine.

  38. J R dice:

Whatever update took place recently made the app so unpredictable in how useless it can be. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, turned on and off my phone, and it still shows the last ride as if I’m still waiting to be picked up. And if that’s not frustrating enough, the app says “Null” for my profile and THEN it says “No Vehicles Available” like there’s no vehicles in the heart of one of the largest cities in the state. Fix your app Uber.

  39. The drivers are good to great for the most part. The real issue is the fact that the app will apparently redesignate who will pick you up semmingly at random. I’ve been in a situation where my ride was less than 10 to even 5 minutes away and was suddenly swapped for a guy 40 MINUTES away. The GPS also frequently has issues forcing drivers onto nonexistent roads or through parking lots to get onto a back road.

  40. I have had very similar experiences as @God’s Gift has already mentioned. On top of that, the app now refuses to allow me to put in a destination, making it literally useless. Reinstalling the app, restarting my phone, and signing out and logging back in have all failed to yield any results. Please fix your app, it is one of the worst I’ve used in my entire life.
