the only feature I use on this app is private photos I don’t want to risk others seeing if I show them my phone. importing is ridiculously easy & fast, the pics are then automatically removed from your gallery & into app. a security feature is, it’s not possible to leave this app open. any time you switch screens, you must log in again. I’ve had nothing but a great experience with it.

  2. Holds many pics. But most of the time I cannot open it to view them. Keepsafe has many pop ups. Have to reinstall, but must delete files to reinstall. Must pay for the app you think you’re installing..* UPDATE, if you use the Free version for to long , they will remove your pics/ vids and say you put them in the trash unless you pay to recover. Your items will mysteriously disappear if you keep refusing to upgrade to the paid version. THIS IS Extortion.

  3. I love this app, I am an annual paid subscriber; but the reason for the 3 stars is what actually drives me crazy; which is, when trying to upload a file, they are not in alphabetical order and I have to scroll down through hundreds of folders looking for the one I need to backup. The annual subscription is not cheap and for that reason, that should have been addressed by now. Other than that, it is s great app.

  4. So far I like the app, I’m on the free premium version right now and so far I like it. Had to switch from Google photos bc I’ve almost run out of storage. All that said, one thing I don’t understand is why the photo information isn’t stored about the photo. Like when the photo was taken possibly where it was taken the time taken. None of that information is available. I know it’s probably a privacy feature but it would be nice for me to decide if I want to have the information available to see

  5. Genesis dice:

This gallery app features a delete toggle but has the recovery option behind a paywall. Additionally, the files are not viewable until payment is given. This is dishonest and a scam, please correct this. UI wise, the app needs more organization features such as having dedicated tabs for photo/video or having nested folders. On the main menu, allow us to configure the column amount and album order. Lastly, reduce the thick boarders around the images and make UI black.

Update: it took them time but they did fix the issue, give it a try but have backups. Update: as you can see they are telling everyone to reach out for help.. Lol what a joke, they simply tell you they know of this issue and are working on it. For two months now, why not just roll back the app?… I don’t know what they did but they’ve locked out all my photos. They show the title quantity but they’re all blank and won’t view, export or unlock. Gone from average to terrible.

  7. It certainly does the job! Backing up, removing from viewable directories, appropriate level of discretion. As a premium subscriber, I enjoy its simplistic UI and multiple albums for organizing, but it definitely lacks the functionality of sorting and filtering. I submitted an email to suggest this and got a REALLY quick response, so I hope to see the feature added in the nearby future. Edit: Still no features requested on 11/2021, but no issues! Keep up the good work 👍

  8. This app is constantly crashing There are even times when it crashes back-to-back-to-back. There’s times that even crashes as soon as you open it up. Other than this problem, obviously a very App breaking everything else seems to be working very well. I really wish that it didn’t do the constant crashing so that I would actually feel like paying for the premium before the complimentary free trial runs out. I’m not gonna pay for a app that keeps crashing over and over.

This app is pretty good, however there is no consistency when importing pictures so you have to manually import them one at a time. Other than that it’s pretty good and I am really glad that when the free premium ends all your photos save. I would definitely recommend! Scratch that, talk about an AD take over, can’t even upload 3 pictures without an AD that signs you out so you need to put in your password again.

  10. rudjae dice:

The app stop working mid import and refused to open, now all the pictures and videos that were imported are gone. Would never recommend this app to others. It has only one job that is yo protect the data we entrust to it, instead all the data was destroyed. It failed at the one thing I needed it for and it did so within minutes of me downloading it.

  11. 2-year premium member. I have hundreds of photos and videos lost due to this app. I have cloud backup turned, that did not matter. When I log in, the photos and videos are blank and say “cannot open video”. I have never been more angry at a supposed “premium app” in my life. Those lost videos were irreplaceable.

  12. Used to be good but now the screen is covered with ads the entire time. As soon as you close one, another opens. This is not an exaggeration. 2/3 of your time in the app is spent with full screen covering ads that take at least 10 seconds each to skip. Genuinely unuseable at this point.

  13. DKing6084 dice:

This is a very well app, hides all my personal things but I just have one problem with it, when I play a video I won’t be able to exit out of it the only way to exit a video is to close the app and reopen it again, which I can do but it just gets tedious after a while. If you fix it then I’ll rate 5 stars. Also the ads are another issue but I can survive those

  14. jaekuyn dice:

I received an email saying my account would be deactivated from something called keepsafe. I decided to download it and check it out. I logged in and got an access code. Then it shows me my premium expired and encourages me to renew it. I switch it to basic and have no photos here. That’s because I have never signed up for keepsafe nor have I ever had premium. I don’t like these dishonest tactics to get you to download and upgrade subscription.

  15. Great idea and the paid version is cool but if you want the basic, everytime you open it, it will make you look at the pros of paid and you cant jist back out, you have to go through then select “switch to basic”. Also, I have a passcode on mine and I have opened it up and it went to my photos for a second before going back to the passcode. They’re in there so no one sees them so that makes it a little less useful.

  16. It does exactly what it says and it’s very good at it. The biggest problem however is when trying to share/export any content from the app to elsewhere. Trying to do so usually results in a ‘cannot connect to private cloud’ error and urges me to make sure I’m connected to the internet even when I’m using a WiFi signal with full bars. This is frustrating. Also, there is no clear indicator inside the settings for enabling/disabling the private cloud.

  17. The app works well, but there is no sorting feature. If you add something to the vault it seems like it has it’s own way of sorting things. Although this is ok, having a feature where you can sort you materials alphabetically or manually would be nice. In my experience when I attempt to align 2 images it just doesn’t work. I even tried to change the name of the photos.

  18. The app was wonderful during the free trial, but now that it’s ended, performance is almost non-existent. I understand adding advertising, but there’s obviously something else going on. I don’t know if “throttling” is the correct term, but it shouldn’t take 5 seconds from press to folder open. Do I get a filter or search function for the full-price version?

  19. This is probably the best photo vault app I’ve ever used. It’s simple yet offers a ton of features to insure your images and videos are secure. The only issues I have are importing videos which don’t always show up. I have to move them to another album/folder. I wish there was a separate option for only importing videos like with photos. Or perhaps it’s a bug. My other issue is importing documents. Every album lists the amount of documents stored but I’ve yet to find a way to import them.

  20. Easy to use. But I do not like nor need the subscription. The only feature the subscription offers that I want is the ability to customize folders so my photos can be hidden when in the app. I think it’s fair to charge a subscription for a cloud service, but customizing is not a cloud service, I would prefer to just pay for the app out right.

  21. I’ve been looking for an app to do this! I love the sync feature; I can see ny photos at any time on any device. I also like that you can disquise it as another app. A good idea would be to do something in the app to activate the password promt instead of just long pressing the keepsafe logo. For example, typing in a specific equation on the calculator, an option after you scan your device, etc. I love it, keep on improving! I’m going to get the premium this summer hopefully l.

  22. Jessica B dice:

Love it very much. Great for keeping sensitive information safe. It has it where you could have multiple albums for different things. You could also make shared albums that only people you add to it can see by sending them a code. It’s a good app for keeping passwords, credit card information, or anything else you want to keep private. Highly recommend it. Best photo vault I’ve found in years.

  23. Works okay. If you import photos from the app, it deletes them from your gallery. If you share them with Keepsafe from your gallery app, it doesn’t delete them from the gallery. You can’t rearrange photos in an album unless you put them into the album one at a time in the order you want. I often get corrupted or 0 byte photos out when I try to export them back out of Keepsafe, so be sure to keep an extra copy safe somewhere else in case it messes up the pictures.

  24. This app has been golden until (ironically) I actually purchased it. Now, a couple months in it’s completely stopped working. I can not acsess my photos AT ALL. The screen where you type your code doesn’t even register! I don’t understand-the free version never did this. Obviously, if you’re photos are under lock and key (so to speak) they’re likely special/sentimental/or ones you’d prefer to keep private, so this is especially distressing. Please check out the feedback. This is a real problem.

  25. Love that the app keeps my more private photos safe from prying eyes, but I can still view them easily. The app also stays off of the previously used list, so no one can sneak in or know you were recently using it. ALSO, if you decide to clean your phone & remove photos from there to put somewhere else, they will go into one separate folder instead of back to their original folders like some other apps do. The only thing I don’t like is that choosing your album cover photo is a premium feature.

  26. I appreciate that you can now find the most recent photos at the top of your selection instead of having to scroll all the way down. The photos still import out of order from how you selected them, which I would like fixed. Attempting to rotate videos still doesn’t do anything except rotate the thumbnail and not be video itself. I would like to see these changes, and if these happen, this app will be the best you can get compared to the rest.

  27. I use this app a lot and it provides a good service! The free version has been treating me well so far. However, one of the most annoying parts for me that I feel should be an extremely basic feature and easy to implement is keeping the pictures in the same order. If I upload more than one picture at a time, then it uploads everything in a random order! In addition to that, there is no easy way to re-order the photos that are already uploaded. Please fix either one or both of these issues!

  28. Outstanding App… especially since it has the ability to hide itself in plain sight! You can set keepsafe so that it shows up as a different app than what it is when the person who’s not authorized touches the app it looks like something completely different. But it gives you instructions on how to get through the back door to get to your hidden photos! It’s really cool

  29. The sync works well but missing basic options. I’m an annual subscriber and have been for a couple of years. The most annoying thing about keepsafe, is the inability to organzine the photos inside your albums. When you upload the photos, keepsafe just throws them in whatever order it wants and you can’t change it. There’s not drag and drop for individual photos or a simple sort feature. Also not very secure. All you need is the email and keepsafe will reset the password on your account.

  30. This app is aggravating! I recently got a new phone, and installed the app from Google play, and it doesn’t even have all the albums from my last phone (backup’d and space-saved many times), and then to top it off, none of my videos in over 20 albums play. A lot of them aren’t even there! (keeps telling me “Downloading full resolution…Your file must be downloaded, please connect to the internet”, even when I am on wifi. Very disappointed!

  31. This happened to me twice. If you’re going to restore your phone and requires you to reinstall Keepsafe, some or most photos and videos backed up in the cloud will not work. When you play a video, the app is stuck trying to download it and it always end up saying that there was an error downloading it. Photos still look fine but you can’t export them. I’ve tried to talk to support but there’s no communication and they respond a week or 2 later saying that I need to contact support again. Awful.

  32. Having used this app for quite some time I believe in my opinion that it does exactly what it is suppose to do, and with great efficiency and ease of use. My photos stay exactly where I want to, no accidental spillage and sharing them is pretty straight forward and with plenty of safe guards. Thanks guys, I can now say that my photos and docs are in safe hands, way up in da blue yonder!

  33. Installed this app a decent amount of time ago. Uploaded a number of photos and videos in order to clear up a bit of space on my phone. Come back later to find they lowered the space available and now I have to pay to “recover” my pictures and videos that are currently in a trash location. Can’t see what they are or if I feel its worth paying the $4.99 for premium to get them back. Pure hostage taking for profit.

  34. Years ago I thought this app was great and gave it 5 stars. But I noticed that a LOT of my photos or videos are no longer showing up. They hit you with the “Premium storage” fees after a while and most of the pics that I thought were safely stored are no longer available… especially after I get a new phone and reopen the app. This makes it worthless to me if pics don’t transfer over.

  35. Puts you into a trial without saying it, no warnings that once the trial runs out it sets a certain amount of storage, and anything you had over that amount of storage will be held hostage in a trash folder until you pay to upgrade to recover them. Lost a bunch of photos because of it, and am not paying money just to get them back and move them to a better app. Do not use this app unless you’re planning on paying for it!!

  36. App worked great when you would store your data on a 3rd party app like Dropbox granted there was really no security anyone with a little common sense could see it, I mean all it does is change the file extension to something else, but I decided to stay. paid the yearly subscription to save my data on their servers, I upgraded my phone apparently it wasn’t saved on their servers even though it was in the app for over a year and change lost my stuff and no solution from them.

  37. DO NOT USE THIS APP BECAUSE A MONTH LATER THEY INSERT ADS IN ALL YOUR GALLERIES! First you move all your images from various folders into the app. For me it took hours. Don’t get me wrong, it works great. One month later it tells you the trisl period is over, and disables features. It’s a time bomb. Now you have a thousand images to move back. But the move back feature sucks. Then you find out they put ads every 3rd image, and if you swipe it wrong it navigates to it. I feel so cheated.

  38. It’s a very good app to keep photos safe. One of the best I’d say, as it doesn’t prevent you from getting your photos back when your free trial has ran out. But, one thing that makes this app different is the lag that comes with it. Sadly, it’s kinda bad. It actually made my phone completely stop and try to reboot itself up to 10 times in a row. If there was less lag, there would be many more phones that would be compatible with this app.

  39. Horrible support. After the premium trial, switching to basic option is impossible. The app gets stuck in a ‘unable to download’ state, which means all photos are locked within the app/cloud unless you pay them for a premium subscription. This acts like a bug, but I have my doubts. All photos stored on the app are removed from the original phone storage to the Keepsafe cloud, so unless you buy the premium, there’s no seeing your photos ever again. This feels like blackmail.

  40. Twice now I’ve been screwed. I’ve been paying for a premium subscription for three years… both times I reset my phone… everything in the cloud has been lost… all settings, all saved items… everything. I’m just going to use the phone’s built in hidden folders option if my content isn’t going to be safe from a reset.

  41. Tom Gade dice:

Overall, I like the features, layout. However, I’m giving the app one star for one simple reason: photos are not encrypted on the phone itself. Photos in the app’s data folder are unencrypted – in order for an attacker to use this vector, they would need to have root access (through an Android exploit), but nonetheless, if that access is obtained, photos are directly accessible. Advertising doesn’t directly state on-device encryption, but I expected it given the ads emphasis on security.

  42. Correxis dice:

Perfect for a while, then locked me out. For some reason, though I never bought the premium, the app is telling me my “premium has expired” and I need to do this long process to switch to the basic, which never begins because the app won’t restore the files. It’ll just sit there frozen. I never bought the premium so I’m not sure why it even had to do this, and why my 34 files are now lost forever. Until this gets fixed, I cannot recommend this app for anything but as a file garbage can.

  43. Exactly what it says from the outset, perfect for keeping pictures of family and whatever other documents you have. Personally for me the biggest issue is the storage as it’s simply not big enough for someone like me with 20,000+ pictures to upload and no external support to save the pictures in of you can’t use the cloud. It especially sucks since I paid for a year of this service only to not be able to use it. Overall good app, just watch what you’re using it for.

  44. I’ve paid and I can’t use it. I renewed my subscription after several years of good use. Now, every time I open it is says my subscription has expired. I click to renew and Google Play tells me I already have one. Then when I return to the app, I see a box that says Congrats, you’re premium. I click close and it puts me back on the screen that says premium gas expired. I’ve uninstalled, re-loggedin. Nothing fixes it. I’m out money and can’t access my media.

  45. Used a long time with the basic version, did the premium trial, trial expired and they trashed all my images. I can’t get any back or even view the trash unless I pay the ungodly amount this app is asking for. I’m not even at the space limit for images. They didn’t have my images switched back into basic mode. Just straight up trashed them. Holding my images hostage until I pay premium. Greedy. Not worth me even having the app. I don’t recommend doing the premium trial as they screw you later.

  46. Intalled app on new device. Files would not load, noticed they were in the Keepsake Trash can, being stored on my device, not permenantly deleted. I attempted to view only to discover that they are holding my files hostage unless I get a paid subscription. I get it and it’s ok to limit features on free one, but when it it involves removing access to my own files on my own device?! Seem invasive to me. I’d subscribe but trust their integrity and security with my personal data.

  47. David Lai dice:

Great app, but lately some ads come up and don’t have any way to dismiss them. The ads redirect to Google play to install Facebook. I tried closing Google play and returning to app but it just reopens it. I have to reboot my phone to get the ad to go away. Luckily for me this comes up when I wasn’t urgent needing to use it otherwise it would be a show stopper. Please make sure ads displayed have an obvious close button.

  48. If you want to lose access to your photos, use this app. Customer support is useless and offers no real help because they don’t even know how their own app functions. Their supposed “private server” can’t be accessed even if you are a paying subscriber. I can still view low res version of my photos in app, but can’t download them at all like advertised.

  49. SOAD498 dice:

Great app for organizing private photos, and the premium features are nice and worth it. One issue however, when I look through my albums sometimes the thumbnail displayed for a pic or vid shows one thing, and upon selecting shows a completely different thing. Also, some pics and vids don’t display a thumbnail at all. This makes quickly finding a picture very difficult

  50. A BIG drawback is not being able to sort pics. With over a thousand images, I need to be able to list them by file name or date within a folder. This app doesn’t offer that option. Such a simple, common but time-saving function. Tsk tsk! UPDATE: Almost 3 yrs since my original review. I was told they’re working on the feature. Well, they haven’t. Why can other apps figure it out but these devs can’t? Hmm.

  51. Awesome, I’ve had zero issues because I can read pretty well and all of the features/drawbacks are pretty well explained and fairly obvious. Haven’t lost any photos and the cloud service has brought me through multiple phones. Would definitely recommend. I’ve had the premium sube for a few years now. $25 a year isn’t much to support something you like.

  52. Keepsafe is the hypersensitive version of dropbox. If you’re worried about “explicit content” on your phone, or anything else you’d rather keep hidden for that matter. Keepsafe is the app for you. It has multiple controls to keep your photos and documents as private as you need them to be equipped with fingerprint lock, immediate app switching when your phone is face down, and even a decoy Keepsafe for someone who is really snooping. It’s an overall secure well thought out app
