CalWIN is a group of 18 California Counties that provides Health & Human Services for county residents. Services include cash aid, food and nutrition assistance and medical services.
The Mobile application allows you to check your current benefits wherever you are, whenever you want. Get information on assistance programs. Find a County Human Services office in your area. Or see if a disaster has been declared in your zip code.

We do not sell any personal information to any third party. However, some information collected by this application, and some information you choose to provide, is subject to disclosure to the public in response to a public records request, as required by the California Public Records Act. These laws exist to ensure that government is open and that the public can access appropriate records and information possessed by government agencies.
Legal exemptions to this public disclosure exist to protect individuals’ privacy. The California Welfare and Institutions Code (http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/cgi-bin/displaycode?section=wic&group=10001-11000&file=10850-10853) expressly requires the confidentiality of personal information gathered for the purpose of the Medi-Cal and CalFresh (formerly known as Food Stamps) programs, and protects it from being disclosed to the public.

The apps okay if you’re basically just checking to see how much money is left on your EBT card. But at least the touch ID option doesn’t seem to work, there’s no option to download any forms you need, it doesn’t provide any of the notifications that you get through the website. It’s a fair example of how out-of-date and out of touch government services are with modern technology and customer service.
I used to have Fresh EBT, and I’ll be going back to it after this mess. I have to sign in every time, (the other app has device recognition which makes it quicker at checkout), this one always logs me out claiming my password is wrong, (I only use 2 passwords), plus the layout is just cheap looking. Fresh EBT also has meal plans, food budgeting tips and even recipes. This one has much to be improved. Not user friendly at all.
Functions good. Now all we need is an app that will connect to the monitor that is used in the HHS offices that will relay or post the next number (person) that is called to go to the next window. I lost my hearing when I was 26 and I can’t hear the numbers being called. Sure i can see but your eyes get tired and strained having to watch it for 30+ minutes until your number is called. Like the TUNITY app…it links to the monitor and you can hear the numbers or better hear AND see. Accomodation?
Horrible app,and even worse website. Absolutely no instructions anywhere. Nothing functions properly. And there is no way to access the app without the website. And the website is the most useless piece of junk I have ever had to interact with. Do yourself a huge favor and DON’T waste you time. Because trying to use this app is nothing but a waste of time….. 2chours on hold would be faster and easier than this piece of junk.
