  1. Good overall. The main thing I’m annoyed with right now is notifications to not miss a podcast I’ve maybe listened to twice, and I’m not subscribed to. It’s a podcast I might listen to if I have time, but I rarely do. But right now, the dumb app is reminding me every single day not to miss the new episode. It’s almost to the point that I’m close to deleting the app, so I don’t get any more notifications. Since I can’t findany way to turn it off.

  2. A A dice:

There is no way to look at one’s history of what has been played. On top of that, if one is in the middle of listening to an episode and closes the app and reopen it later, it often changes do a different episode. So, one loses one’s place. To make it even worse, one can’t search for an individual podcast episode. So, the only way to find the episode again is to search through years of episodes to find the correct episode again.

  3. Jas Guy dice:

Don’t waste your time with this no good app it continuously and constantly disconnects and you missed the content of what you’re trying to listen to. it doesn’t get any better. I tried it again and it’s even worse. Now this Iheart app is turning off my Wi-Fi! I checked my other device and the Wi-Fi is fine this app is really really really bad always disconnecting I’m never trying it again neither should anybody else

  4. I really like this app. The adds aren’t that anowing I do wish they would widen the viarty of music when they learn my style. Some songs could be played a little less, some a little more, and newer ones. But that being said I like it. At least I can still hear songs when using others apps. Unlike Google and u tube.

  5. Difficult to navigate. Picked an Artist and didn’t get to the song I really wanted to listen to! The app doesn’t play the specific artist/song i wanted to listen to. Forced to pay more, to listen to my fav artist or song(s). Sketchy reception made it difficult to connect. Not a good experience with this app. Plus, cancelled this APP, and STILL GOT CHARGED! When I would rather place my money else where. Good luck Everyone. :/

  6. This is a desent music app ig. I mean it only has playlists and it does have good ones like iheartchristmas but, you cannot listen to one particular song you like. I believe spotify has more variety. Also whats really anoying is that when sometimes I am in an app that is not iheart it automatically buffers and stops the song which can be really annoying. Update: The buffering continues and it will not stop!!! Just fix this simple issue!!!

  7. Intrusive ads!!! iHeart just played an ad which continued playing even after I fully closed the app. It is alarming that any app has the ability to continue functioning after the user turns it off. And it is additionally disturbing that the makers of any app would actually presume to use that ability. Creepy. Intrusive. Way over the line!

  8. You can’t play a specific song without signing up for All Access, if that’s why you’re here. It tries to match what you want to hear with something else. I wanted to listen to Run Away to Mars…to play the song you want you have to sign up for All Access, which I declined. I guess then it decided I wanted to listen to Linkin Park instead, then Childish Gambino. If the “how about this instead” algorithm doesn’t even work, then what’s the point?

  9. Does a HORRIBLE job of switching back and forth between WiFi and cellular. It insists on replaying the introduction message on every switch in either direction, causing me to miss much of what I’m trying to listen to. Work-around is to turn off WiFi every time I use the app, which presents other obnoxious problems.

  10. I’ve had iHeartRadio app on every one of my phones for too many years to count. It has so many options than the other music streaming apps. I love listening to my favorite songs, even if I’m listening to my favorite radio station and I hear a song I like, thumbs up and it will appear in my favorites. I also love listening to Casey Kasem’s Top 40, Crime Junkie podcast and my favorite genres. Love it!!

  11. Amy dice:

Ads start to get a little crazy here & there but if I could afford it, I’d switch from Spotify to this I think, because it does a great job at figuring out what songs you’d like to hear next etc. Love it. Worked flawlessly for me just felt ads kept increasing & increasing to the point it was no longer enjoyable listening. 🙁

  12. easy to use great app. Deep cuts is an excellent idea to have implemented. Also just wanted to mention the quality. Lossless aside, these are fantastic quality recordings, and threw a good set of speakers or headphones, you’d be surprised how good this stuff sounds. Keep up the good work I-heart!

  13. I just dropped iHeart to 1 star (can’t rate 0). I use to love this app to catch my local broadcasts when reception got sketchy. Recently on all my devices it’s constantly shutting down. When it reboots I am forced to listen/watch ads (funny it always happens between program ads from the stream). What makes it even worse is they are no longer 15 second adverstments; instead they are the same 60 second spots. I now know more about M.S. treatments seeing the same ad 4 times in the last 10 minutes.

  14. App stops at every single song. Does not play the next song until I physically play it. Needs fixed thank you!! UPDATE ON THIS. The Bluetooth permissions is causing issues on Bluetooth devices. I went to settings and denied permission to my Bluetooth Devices and everything worked as it should. For the future of the app, we don’t need a Bluetooth device permission when the phones and other devices have their own. Please remove it.

  15. RJ P dice:

If you’re willing to dedicate your phone to just this app, it works fine, but god forbid someone calls you or you get a snapchat. Then the app can’t do anything but start the same song over and over again. Can’t get back to live radio without restarting my phone, and that only works less than half of the time. Totally inconvenient

  16. I love the app, it’s great to use for work with FCC approved radio stations, and love the Playlists. I also really enjoy the iheart featured stations, but it’s real frustrating hearing 2-3 songs but then it plays 10 minutes of a podcast you have no interest in. Of course there are ads of plenty in between, but it is necessary to keep the app free. Overall, I still enjoy it

  17. Under pod cast settings there is the option to delete played episodes after 24hrs. Doesn’t on my Android. Setting download limit doesn’t seem to work either. Between those 2 issues the memory gets used up when it shouldn’t. Other than those things I love it. Update, Under Iheart direction I uninstalled Iheart, turned off the phone, restarted and reinstalled Iheart. We’ll see if that solves the issue of storing several gigabytes of podcasts that should auto delete.UPDATE: Still not auto deleting

  18. I Crider dice:

A few issues make this app less than ideal. Ads often times play over songs. However, the biggest drawback for me is this app plays songs that I have given the thumbs down to so often, multiple times. And the app keeps going back to the same song and same artist. I get it. The artist has talent but I am not interested in their music, do not like it, so how many times do I have to keep thumb downing like a spectator at a gladiator game?

  19. Lately the app stops and tells me I have surpassed my device limit because it’s playing on another device, which it isn’t. It does the same both with Wi-Fi and regular cell connection. It’s very annoying because it will give me the error or just stop playing so I have to start it again. I’ve tried contacting customer service but they never respond. I have a subscription but if it doesn’t get fixed quitting and going to another music app.

  20. I’ve used this app on laptops, apple products and android. But, whatever they’ve done to it has completely messed it up. I listen to radio talk shows and it’s gotten to where it plays only commercial after commercial. I click on the person, I’m trying to listen to, and it’ll pick it up then it fades out and basically pauses. I unpause and it fades back out in <15 seconds. It's gotten to where I just listen on terrestrial. Was much more convenient with an app.

  21. I know I heart uses ads to keep the application free, nd that’s fine to a certain extent. But the developers really need to fix the app so it doesn’t keep replaying the same ads over and over and over again, especially after your navigation system interrupts with direction instructions. The app should be set so that once an ad plays once it doesn’t repeat. Please do something to fix this, it’s making the app unusable with ad interruptions and constant repeats.

  22. Alert: Do not buy if you’re into music. I have deleted several playlists after 3 songs or an album because I can’t find what I’m looking for. Even some of the most basic things. It was better back when. Tons of cool obscure music. Seems like maybe they crowded it out with podcasts. Who wants to hear idiots babbling randomly about things they know nothing about? Having no luck finding a lot of the music that made me listen to iHeart.

  23. Can be a little glitchy depending upon the device but for the most part it works pretty well. I do wish they back off of this podcast advertising push from a marketing aspect just a little bit. Lastly they keep jamming down your throat stations or music genre that they think I want to listen to or news that I want to listen to. I’d rather pick my own stuff

  24. Just a terrible app. One upon a time it worked well. Then they made it nearly non functional. On podcasts it won’t play in order. Skips episodes, randomly picks episodes or just stops mid episode. On music just plays the songs you hate the most, over and over. If you hit thumbs down enough it will exclusive play those songs. After this review someone from iheartradio contacted me to give me advice like, “try reinstalling it, or restart device” Unfortunately this didn’t fix their bad code

  25. I only listen to one station in the morning through this and I have such a hard time. 1. Either the station does not load and ends up load justin Timberlake over and over again 2. It plays the stations but sounds like a broke record going back every few seconds 3. It stops randomly and I have to press the play button every 5 seconds. Everytime I download this app thinking it’s fixed its problems its either the same or worse. Fix your app! I just want to be able to listen to my station 😠

  26. Mike Wood dice:

This app used to be great! Now, not so much. I listen to some syndicated shows that are on terrestrial radio. The buildings I work in often have poor radio signal for the stations that carry what I listen to. So iHeart app was a great solution. A few weeks ago, something changed. Stations I often listen to added a second feed or subchannel on their app page. When the main show takes breaks the feed switches. In past week, it doesn’t switch back when the main show comes back on. Need a restart

  27. As soon as the app opens boom ads. I use this app everyday to listen to a radio station program while I’m traveling. But I don’t get service in a lot of these places I’m working so I download the episodes for offline use but they don’t tell you that you can’t even open the app if you don’t have full service. So if you’re in a place with spotty service the app is completely useless

  28. Deb Bergs dice:

This used to be a good app. I don’t know what they changed but over the last few months it’s gotten progressively worse. I pay a fee every month so I can listen to my Playlist. Never had a problem and it would start up on my Playlist every morning. Now, it has these “recently listened to” stations (30-40) loaded up every morning that I’ve never heard of, I have to force it to play my songs. It crashes constantly and keeps telling me I have to pay even tho I already do. I’m done with it.

  29. Zone Base dice:

I used to love iHeart radio, but latley it just doesn’t work. Neither the app or the website work correctly anymore. It’ll take a while to start, then play for maybe a few minutes, then just stops. I’ll have to restart the app or refresh the page. It’s not my connection, I don’t need to update, it’s iHeart. Spotify works perfectly no matter what. Please fix your service, I’d like to enjoy it again.

  30. If I could give zero I would. How you managed to release an update that completely destroyed the app is unfathomable. App stops after every ad and commercial break. Gets stuck playing the same ad repeatedly. Have to restart the app at least a dozen times to get through one hour talk show. Deleting and never reloading. Good luck explaining this to all the companies you swindled out of ad revenue

  31. I used to love iheart but since they updated it commercials play over music all the time and you can’t even see how long it’s for or what the ad is for. They also get stuck in loop and you have to shut off the app to get it to stop. This is especially frustrating when I’m trying to put my 16 month to sleep and covid19 vaccine and voter registration commercials play in a 10 minute loop! Please fix these issues! I’m going to use Spotify, for now. At least I know what I’m getting there.

  32. Station will cut off and in the middle of segment and play a same commercial repeatedly and give you no way to bypass to get back to what you were listening to making you miss the segment completely. I have heard the same commercial probably 10x in the last hour. It didn’t used to be this way, but someone at iheart seriously screwed this app up for the worse in a bad way. This used to be the only player that I used and now I only use it when there’s no other option.

  33. Chad dice:

if the app stops, for any reason and you restart, an ad plays. then you get back to the channel but now its at a commercial break and you change stations, another ad plays. The podcast ads are the worst, most sadly produced ads ever. Video ads won’t stop if you close the app. They just continue, louder than the media volume. Have to close, open, then close all to make the dump app stop. They do that on purpose to hinder closing during videos probably. Going back to terrestrial radio sources.

  34. Hard to believe how buggy this app is after all these years. I can have 5 bars and or be on wifi, but it goes into buffering mode at least 3 times an hour. I go back to old school radio every chance I get. Update: iheart response was feeble. Ironic that as I post this, KFI buffered 3x, told me about podcasts I get elsewhere and when resumed, live radio show was in mid topic. I missed the previous 10 minutes of programming for ads, etc.

  35. Keith C. dice:

I listen to the radio stations from back home and I got so many repeated ads and no music. I had to press the stop button then press play again and some times that works, then there are times while listening to a song from a radio station …yup ads interupt during the song. I am close to canceling my subscription and joining spotify.

  36. Update: 24-Aug-2023 I am now using latest 10.19 Version. Let us see whether this problem is fixed. All recent versions on Android do not save library list like podcasts. All your followed podcasts lists disappears frequently. This issue has been continuing since the summer of 2021. I have since fallen to old verion 9.0 and that works great.

  37. I paid for Ultimate or Unlimited, whichever subscription allows for on demand song selection. I select a band, and it plays a different band every time. I’ve been robbed. There really isn’t another way to describe it. I was promised a feature that I paid for, and it wasn’t delivered. Fortunately, I can cancel the subscription. Three stars because I can still listen to talk radio and download podcasts.

  38. I enjoy the iHeart Android App. overall; but, I consistently run into a constant issue. The issue has to do with the iHeart Android App. repeatedly dropping Bluetooth headset connectivity while either beginning to play audio, or while in the midst of playing audio. I know that this is an iHeart App. issue; because, my other podcast and music applications on my phone do not have any trouble with maintaining Bluetooth connectivity. The loss of connectivity only happens with the iHeart App.

  39. Great selection, but the app makes it really difficult to shop for new tracks. Limiting the amount of skips and you can not just listen for a few seconds and track hop new songs to see if you like live or hate. So. I heart. Eh not the great! Also no crossfire between tracks abrupt transition of music . Also no cool visuals to the beat

  40. Takes forever to load. Randomly shuts off. You are adding songs to my playlist that I don’t want if I wanted them they would have been added. Sometimes it won’t connect to my Bluetooth s have to restart app / disconnect and reconnect Bluetooth. Just started doing this. Was much better before last update and just had a new update and still same problems. Please fix your app. It was good
