Good game, but two glaring issues. First, when you are dribbling near the half court line, the player will slowly drift backwards on their own, which often causes a backcourt violation, which is annoying. Second, the game will occasionly freeze up during the middle of a match. Force closing the game and restarting it fixes it, but all progress and energy used in the quarter is of course lost. This is frustrating and unacceptable.
***Update: Even after the latest update the game still crashes.*** Great game overall. Smooth game play, great graphics, my main problem is the freezing and crashing, once those issues are fixed the game will probably get 5 stars from me. The one other issue, it doesn’t detect when my phone is connected to the Backbone controller even though it is set to identify when a controller is connected.
A very fun game in my opinion. But I do have some issues. The movement system. Honestly, its not a massive issue, but it’s pretty annoying when in games you finally get the ball but ur forced to pick up the ball you get a backcourt violation. Also in drills. In shooting practice, This is a pretty annoying thing but when u run into the circle, ur player takes a few extra steps and actually come out of the circle. It simply wstes time. I have some more issues but overall this is a good and fun gam
Always lags out, always glitches, and the controls do things on there own even though I’m not on auto. BTW THIS GAME is not that good it keeps crashing when im about to play. Edit. This game is way better now every, now and then it crashes and lags, but it’s a solid 4 stars edit: sucks again. Sucks even more would rate it 0.5 stars if I could. Edit: can’t even load in anymore.
Many of the one star reviews here is because the game crashes, however it hasn’t ever crashed or me. The graphics are obviously inferior compared to controller nba games, but that isn’t much of a problem. The playability is great, and although it may take a few minutes to load leaderboards, it will never not appear eventually. The players and the whole system is balanced and great.
Cool but constantly crashing. I like the game, but the biggest problem is the lack of stability. Often crashes within the last part of a quarter and it does not give back the energy lost. This would make sense to keep people from cheating, but when you lose energy from game crashes it’s very frustrating.
Maybe have a recording option so you can see some of the incredible shots being made. I had 2 3/4 shots one was at buzzer in end. You can also make that a challenge maybe of incredible shots made kinda thing. Then again you need to fix your issues (games shouldn’t alreay be in process when you log in) with a few things more than just this or I’d of given a better review.
the game is great when it’s not crashing and freezing. I’ve lost 1000’s in coins and can’t count the leveling measures it cost me. Plus the $$$$ I’ve lost. H2H gives a minor headache, seems guys quit a lot to not lose points when you are crushing them. if someone quits when you are winning you should get a win not a draw. I enjoy playing but the bugs need fixing. Also way too many hackers/bots during events. They take up most of the top bracket so it’s extremely hard to get the top rewards.
The game itself is fun when it works, but I’ve missed out on a top tier center and power forward because I couldn’t access the game during the appropriate limited time events. Also, the limited time events seem to force a lot more missed shots even if you’re wide open and 10k+ in overall power over your opponent. 2 stars seems fair based on quality of game play and availability. Still can’t access the game right now as a matter of fact.
This games pretty well put together but when I afk a game I lose when my power is up by nearly 1k. I really don’t understand the point of upgrading my people so much and still losing to power levels way lower than mine. Also when you play auto it says you can still press the buttons but everytime I press the button it does nothing. I try to pass the ball and it does nothing. I press it 3 more times then it finally passes the ball straight to the other team.
This game is very fun. I always want to play it. Money wise you shouldn’t have to spend much if you play a lot. But I recommend buying the courtside pass if would have money to burn. But in the latest season earning cards and getting better is a lot easier. The gameplay sometimes doesn’t fully work and doe stuff when you didn’t press the buttons. I love all the players in the game and the way new themes and teirs come out. Over all I love this game.
I love this game but I have connection errors. And which seems to be the only problem. If you guys could change the shot meter a little bit larger, if the times running out as you have to shoot you can barely see it because I have to look at the time as well as the shot meter. Overall it’s a really fun and good game just has some things that need a change.
Ever since the season 5 update, the game loads extremely slow and has trouble connecting to the network on my Samsung Galaxy S10e. It also keeps zooming in to the point where I can’t see anything other than the player with the ball or maybe one more player, so I have to keep pausing the game, changing the camera view mode, then changing it back to the original view I had it set to. The prices of coins in the store also need to be drastically reduced!
As of 2/24/2022: Things seem to be looking better with this game. As of 1/28/2022, no matter what screen I click on, the correct screen does not have show. Or, if I click on a screen, it does nothing at all. I thought it was my phone at first, but I had no problems navigating on other games. This is a good game, I just wish all of the bugs would be addressed and corrected.
would give 5 stars but it seems to be lacking in the game modes and overall things to do, that and it definitely follows the “pay to win” corporate strategy that has plagued the mobile gaming community, and as a true hardcore gammer it just saddens me. The gameplay itself is pretty good except the shoot timing is a little weird and takes a bit to get used to.
Installed this game twice. The first time it kept saying there was a connection error or connection maintenance. My wifi is fine and other games load and play without issue. The second time, I was able to put in my name but then it read connection error again. I love NBA2K, but this is pretty damn ridiculous. I won’t be downloading it again unless this issue can be resolved.
Was a 5 star review until I spent 5 event energy and after winning each match I had a “network error” and had to restart the app just to find out that the wins were not saved each time. This was done on wifi and on mobile data. Very close to uninstalling which is a shame because up until now I was enjoying the game. Now experiencing intermittent crashes after playing for 5 to 10 minutes and I lose the tournament or event energy that I used to start the match.
I have never played a game–nor used a cell phone app of any variety–that I can recall being plagued by such an obnoxious, persistent, pervasive issue occurring at a high frequency as this games COMPLETE crashes (that is, in the midst of quite literally every possible mode of gameplay, not just those that typically suffer connectivity issues such as head-to-head against another player). Probably once every 10 to 12 minutes of gameplay the app closes completely. Unresolved in over a month…
Imagine an old PS1 where you put in your favorite game and hope and pray that it makes it through all the loading screens so that you can joyfully play your game. This game is as bad or worse than an ancient PS1. loading screens everywhere, the app crashes, very very slow, etc. I couldn’t even make it to be able to play. Disaster of an app.
the game frequently just closes the app on its own whenever. no matter if it’s in game if with 1 seconds.left. it is very frustrating when your trying to complete a objective and the game shuts off. also the sound isn’t right during gameplay. Also purchased a new phone to play this game but the app won’t even open. It starts to load than within a few seconds the app just closes. Very poor app
I’m having a lot game glitches with the NBA2K mobile app when playing since the upgrade. It goes to zoom when playing and cuts court in have.,it shuts off at times when playing as well. I’ve closed out the app and restarted the game several times. It still does the same thing. I don’t see anything in the settings to help with these issues. It’s decent but everything is ridiculously expensive in game. Graphics are great but so many errors. Loading errors, freezing up, ball getting stuck on the rim. It’s also too hard to tell who is better than who with all the players. A huge selection of current and former players is nice but why not show the cap on their ratings all the time
It’s alright. Unfortunately there isn’t a season or playoffs feature that I can play. Just a bunch of tasks to complete in order to get further in the game. I can’t even jump into the action and play a full customized game. Graphics are amazing for a movie app, and when completing tasks game play is smooth. Definitely a let down. Not what I expected.
Fix the controls. It’s so frustrating trying to shoot the ball or run a pick and roll, and then, your player starts passing the ball unexpectedly. Also, please let us customize the placement and size of the controls. Customizing controls will help us minimize mistouching issues.
Unplayable after update. Doesn’t get past loading screen. If they fix this this is A fun game and could be great with a few tweaks. The defend button needs to select the closest person to the ball rather than the person that is the same position as the ball handler. Passing also needs to feel less random. Also a more balanced approach to lower ranking. I don’t want my three point sharp shooters missing an wide open from the top of the key because I have 100 less power than the opponent.
One of the better basketball games out there right now. Definitely much better than what EA Sports has right now. Energy cool down is perfect…not too long, not too short. Only thing is…it crashes more and more regularly…and it’s very difficult to see player names on the cards. If the crashing is fixed, this game is perfect…but until then I can’t play anymore…
This game continously crashes, each quarter you play utilizes “energy” which takes time to rebuild. It’s impossible to play multiple games in a row due to the fact that the constant crashing uses energy. You can’t play or don’t have access to real rosters. The graphics are great however your players get stuck in animation after celebrating a score which allows the cpu to run down the court open.
In general OK but the gameplay for some events and challenges is just not fair and it’s frustraiting. If my team has lower power number, all my players will become dumb and very bad no matter how skilled they are – what’s the point of skills then? So, if I perform a perfect shot with some good player, he will miss anyway, there will be a lot of turnovers on which I can’t affect. On Manual control, players are sometimes passing when I don’ press pass, they jump in defense when I don’t press jump.
love the game and got right into it, but for some reason during gameplay its really glitchy. tried changing graphic settings from high to low and still the same, i have about 2gb free ram on my phone and about 20gb or more free storage. please fix!! also my data is fine an runs at around 38mbps. not sure if its a framerate issue as it is a fast game.
Very annoying game, when the enemy has higher power even if it’s just 1k difference there is 90% chance the system will make sure you lose.. you suddenly miss open shots and give easy turnovers. Within 2mins, it will be impossible to catch up when you easily give wierd turnovers and the enemy team somehow get lucky shots.. uninstalled after a month of playing, such a waste of time building your team just to be robbed by the system.
Controls are clunky. The dribble move button is so tiny that it’s hard to make dribble moves without accidentally pressing other buttons. Defense is stupid. Allowing the opponent room to move freely, suddenly sagging off the offense. Open shots don’t hit despite being yellow. In my last game, I got hit by a game winner half court three. This game gives the AI a lot of freebies to win. They just want you to spend $$$ on the game. Just plain pay to win and not worth it.
This game lags constantly and when you get to higher levels you cant even attempt to steal the ball or they call it a reach in foul. Meanwhile the other team can clobber you when you’re shooting and they call nothing. Also, your teammates just stand there behind the 3pt line and don’t cut to the hoop or anything so you have to ISO everything but no one can make a contested shot except for the computer. Its BS and not worth the download. Do better.
U not giving control of players. When I guard a player my pt guard may be under the basket while my opponent guard is at top of key shooting, no matter that I’m holding guard button. Very frustrating!!! 2nd when we upgrade our players in catalog, if I’m at bottom of my selection at upgrade leave me there. I hv to scroll ALL the way down again to do anything else for that player. Last but not LEAST y’all got too much going on at one time. IT starts lagging in game. Thanks and hope y’all listening
This game is fun at times but the main issues is when your playing against the hard npcs, when you play against them it seems like it doesn’t matter how hard you guard them they will always score impossible shots but when you get literally open threes to shoot you miss 9/10 of them and it just makes the game less and less fun to play nobody would want to play a game where you have 95,000 Kyrie who can’t make a open three all the chances he has, all in all the game isn’t really realistic enough.
Literally doesn’t even want to load into a came it crashes every time in the very first program credits when you first click on game like the whole game is so far broken it can’t even start. Players dont play defense only happens on my team, not for the ai and card with high power, and with a really good rebound stat with 15k+ power, will get the rebound the same with cards in 10k+. Basically, it makes power only useful on offense, and it takes way too long to get coins. I’ve been playing for almost a year, and my best power team is only 20k-21k. The game is rigged for the ai to have a better chance to win
Best Basketball game on Android gameplay wise. Few bad things in this app are, once you open notification bar, game is unplayable even if you are just in the menu section, and it continues even for local and online games. Instead of using Auto Switch for Defend button, their should have been an Manual controller (touch to player works, but not enough).
I wish you could somehow choose who you could earn or buy like MJ instead of random draft picks or insentive rewards until you get em.we’d buy outright player of our choice with what ever card attributes we want also game seams to crash sometimes but it’s not that at all to all who are getting freezing problems or glitches go to the apps setting and clear the catche and cookies but don’t forget to save you progress first or your phone gigs are almost full buy sd card or better phone.
Game play is shotty unless it’s on auto. The prices in the store are of little value with high risk. The gold you receive is very little compared to what they want for item. At 5k gold I’d expect a low risk high reward but tbh you are better off earning players through game play. The shot meter timing is awful and gold or green can still bounce out, or even air ball. The 3×3 is cool, but if you aren’t in a league it’s worthless cuz you can’t upgrade the defaults they give you. Best free b ball.
2022 update: Wow! Came here to write exactly what I did in 2019. Pathetic. As many have said- this release is an unfinished product. It lags and crashes the UI every time I try and play it. Dribbling fluidity is like running diagonally in techmo super bowl. Actions are superseded by players underneath them and horrible passes are made. Kind of embarrassed I waited in anticipation for such a non respectable end result.
