I really waited to give a review because I wanted to get the full experience. I love it. It’s not too easy and it’s not too hard. It has tons of perks to boost your progress and offers in game ads that don’t bombard but are optional. The number one thing I love is that I can leave the game and come back and pick up where I left off. I can’t explain how unbelievably angry and sad I get at my sims game for completely laying waste to my characters while I deal with my real life. 5/5 🌟 🤩 ⭐️
I love this game and come back to it from time to time. I just came back and have been having the same problem alot of others have. Constant crashes can’t load into vaults without having to reopen the game in a constant cycle. Spent way to much time and money to not be able to play. If they can fix the crashes the game would be fantastic but with the constant crashes it’s unplayable at this point. Update: Still no luck. It’s completely unplayable and all that time and money gone. Please fix
Game’s pretty good. Been playing since it came to console, and later on mobile. There are micro transactions, but Bethesda doesn’t pressure you to buy them, and you can easily progress without them, unless you are impatient. I was able to complete a vault after about a full month. There’s plenty of replay value as well. Overall, a free and genuinely fun game.
Recently, the game has not been able to load into any pre-existing vaults. I was able to create a new one, but after I quit out it was also unable to load. Whether or not a vault has cloud save has no effect. This problem has persisted for several days. Edit: Clearing the cache and restarting your phone seems to be a fix. Edit 2: With the Christmas update it now crashes immediately, clearing the cache no longer helps.
I’ve had this app installed for years on my phone and enjoy playing it off and on again when I have time. Last year it stopped logging me into my accounts saved in the cloud. Now when I try to log in (after deleting and re-installing the app to my phone 2x now) the game crashes while loading the vault and sends me a notification to close the app, or just shuts down.
Gameplay is a perpetual struggle with a story of never having enough of what you need. My people die far too often. This is not fun. As far as stability on my S22 Ultra, I experience frequent and often crashes & app doesn’t open at all 3/4 of the time. This could be a really good app, make it easier to play, i.e. people don’t die as easy & less rads, allow more free item videos, fix stability issues. Maybe allow an easy-hard mode, not just the current mode: impossible.
Please fix this game! I have contacted multiple times in multiple ways and it still crashes almost every time I open the app. Sometimes I can get it to open after it crashes five times or so, but there’s no guarantee, which stinks if I’m limited on time and have people in the wasteland. I have already tried the troubleshooting suggested for this situation on the link sent to me several times. It didn’t work. I love this game, but I can’t play it very much. It’s frustrating to start!
I love Fallout and this game. I was so excited for the new quests and stuff… But, as with the other recent reviews, I can no longer play. Nothing loads. Clearing the cache doesn’t help. Please fix the game ETA: 2 months later, still can’t play. Can create new vaults but can’t load existing ones; uninstalled/reinstalled a final time and now all my cloud saves are gone. I lost literal years of earned rewards and I’m so upset. Please fix the damn game.
Good game, sunk by crashing & bugging. **Lost in-game purchases.** It played well for a couple weeks, I assumed the crashing others reported didn’t affect me. But crash frequency increased, now the game is empty — no vaults, no way to recover in-game purchases. It was excellent game play, but it just doesn’t work. I’m not sure how else to rate something that bricked. The tech support page does not address the problem. (I’m on a new phone, updated Android OS with plenty of capacity.)
Overall a great time waster game, would like a version with a higher dweller cap and deeper vault. Only real issue I’ve had is control sensitivity, sometimes hard to click correct dweller (or the mysterious stranger) accurately. Another plus, probably the easiest mobile game to avoid microtransactions. Some games make progression needlessly difficult without it, some have constant pop-up offers. Not this one.
Great game, but now can’t play. Redownloaded the other day after not having played in forever. Played awhile, then ever since, it won’t open. The game crashes sometimes during the scrolling intro, most often within about 5 seconds of clicking my vault to load. Cleared Cache, made sure no update, etc. Nothing. Not sure if most recent update broke it somehow but if you can play it, it’s a great game.
Game recently stopped loading. I could get to the main screen, enter vault, then loading screen would freeze and shut down. I Uninstalled the game, and reinstalled, and it wouldn’t let me load anything from cloud. Had to start over. Started over, turned the game off, turned it back on, stuck on loading screen and shut down. I’ve lost my entire vault, had to restart, and still not letting me play.
Great game, the weapons are cool and just pretty much everything about it, except for two things, one: resources (food, water, electricity) is hard to all maintain at once. Two: Vault-Tec boxes are really hard to get, so i would appreciate if those just like randomly appeared during quests that DO NOT guarantee a Vault-Tec box
Awesome game until…. Just like everyone else, I’m experiencing crashing when loading my vaults. Clearing cache is a band aid that may or may not work. And if it does work, it’ll only be temporary. I considered creating a ticket to get help, but this doesn’t seem to be an issue exclusive to any specific phone. I’m hoping the glitches will be fixed in upcoming updates.
Fun game, but after 2 weeks or so it’s really starting to freeze and crash often. Looks like I’m not the only one. What’s the deal?? Update: downgraded to 1 star. This game absolutely will not load any longer. No amount of delete and reinstall, cache clearing will fix this. Bethesda, telling everyone who is having the exact same problem to submit a support ticket is probably not the correct answer.
I’ve played the snot out of this game for a few years. Caved and bought a couple lunch boxes in the past, microtransactions aren’t worth it in just about anything. I love that they added optional ad boosts. What I don’t like is the time restrictions on the ads, should be a much shorter waiting period.
Great game i like the attack animations and the different types of weapons there are. Amazing game. But i can’t apply different themes to the cafeteria. At first i thought it was because of the current Christmas theme so i didn’t think too much of it. But now, I just got the institute cafeteria. And I can’t unlock any other themes like railroad, BoS and even party time themes i don’t how to fix this.
My 1st review I gave it 5 stars, and a year later it still 5 stars. It’s essentially a free game, but I’ve spent $ just to show the devs some appreciation. There’s strategy to making a efficient Vault, checking out the FS reddit page helps. Some suggestions for the Devs – can we get a upgrade that’s makes it similar to the PC version? More depth into missions, stats, characters, etc. Or a open map to explore 🙂 I would definitely purchase a DLC that added this & extended the game play. Ty!
Game has not loaded for like 2 or 3 days. Just crashing. I was playing on difficult, so I’m sure all my runners are dead! Tried re-installing. But it has not worked since the latest Android update. Very disappointing Edit: I also followed all the troubleshooting guides. I cleared the cache, uninstalled, etc. Bethesda needs to put of a patch to make the game compatible with Android update.
Pretty fun casual game. It’s meant to keep you playing (and spending money) of course, but it’s a game you don’t need to shell out your hard-collected caps to enjoy playing. So far I haven’t encountered anything game-breaking, but the game does have some funny quirks, mostly very minor bugs. The quests give pretty good rewards, combat seems balanced, and the upgrade sequence is well thought out. Enjoy the post-apocalypse with this Underground Breeding Simulator ™
**Update after they posted below** That save is what I had done and had already listed so they clearly don’t actually read a review. And that link for more help, its just another link on their page that brings you to instructions on how to uninstall and reinstall… It was great, until it wasn’t. My vault stopped opening yesterday, I made sure it was saved to the cloud, uninstalled the app, reinstalled, and now it won’t even open to the title screen. Is there an update coming soon?
Very engaging! Would be FIVE stars but the controls leave much to be desired. Dragging dwellers is glitchy. When sirens are going off, suddenly it becomes difficult to drag dwellers to areas. Would be great if the rooms had a designated spot to tap to open them. SOOOO TIRED of trying to double tap a room but selecting dwellers instead of zooming into the room.
After the Thanksgiving update, I’ve had issues. Haven’t been able to load it to play since. Game won’t even load up to the *load your vault* screen half the time. If I do make it beyond there, the whole app closes out or notifies me that the app isn’t responding. And this Christmas update looks fun. I’d love to be able to enjoy playing it, please fix the issue so I can! This really sucks. I’ve put a lot of effort and time into this (sadly) hate to uninstall it.
It’s a great game, would recommend it to any casual players looking for a game that is way more lax, but I feel like this game has more potential, and maybe if they made a another mode where you can play as a vault dweller in you’re own vault or something like that. also you have to grind really hard to get most items like legendry’s without just buying them. I feel like this game has a lot more potential and would be better as multiplayer/singleplayer. In short it’s great game with minor flaws
I’m going to have to give up on this game. The update a week or two ago has just made it unable to launch. The uninstall/reinstall trick worked once, but it went back to crashing on launch around 6 hours later, and now it crashes even after a complete uninstall and reinstall. Enough people are complaining of this issue (all caused by the last update) that the development team should be completely focused on fixing this crash.
Spent 9.99 for an in-game item but now game is crashing and vault can’t be loaded. Help articles are useless (‘restart your phone’ haha). Very disappointing. Occasionally works when I restart and activate airplane mode before starting app but that’s super annoying. So many people complaining about this issue on other pages yet developers are not doing anything about it.
Well, the experience was alright up until 12/13/22. Now I can’t even open the game. Attempted reinstall, cache, etc. No change, I’m regretting putting any money into this as it’s currently unplayable, and overall, I’m a little sullied on the game as a whole to want to touch it. It gets one star in its current state, currently seeking a refund for money spent.
Awesome game that I have spent much time and money on, but do to the addictive and fun nature of the game I did not mind. Well took a break from the game for like 2 months and now I cannot even get it to fully load up since it keeps crashing over and over no matter what I would do. If this could be fixed would be rated 5 stars for sure.
This game is awesome… when it works. Every seasonal update causes the game to crash for a few weeks while the bugs are worked out, I’ve not been able to play for 2 weeks now with the winter holiday update. Every time it doesn’t open I lose interest a little more.
Game lags on harder quest and cause your characters to die because you can’t have them aim half the time no matter how many times you drag the aim icon over an enemy, can’t move any where in your vault without some how accidentally clicking on a character and dragging them into a room their not supposed to be in, this game has become a cash grab and garbage. I used to really like this game and would normally recommend it but now it’s unenjoyable. Hope they remove it from the play store.
Updating my review after having some stability issues on 12/9/22. The development team seems to have resolved the issue, thank you Bethesda Team. This is a fun, and slightly addictive, Vault simulator. Great for passing time, and is loaded with all your favorite Fallout lore. I highly recommend it for those of us that want some challenges, but prefer PvE over PvP.
The game won’t load past the starting menu. I click on my vault, the loading screen shows, and then the game freezes/crashes. Samsung 21 Ultra. Edit: It’s been almost a month since I’ve been able to load the app. Extremely disappointing for such a big company. Especially considering people spend money on your app. You’d think making the app work for everyone would be a priority. I’ve added report tickets, I’ve deleted the app, and I restarted my phone. Why is this still a problem?
Has come a long way from its initial release, I haven’t touched it since it was exclusive to Android/iOS, and much of the kinks and bugs plagued with the game at launch have since been ironed out as well as Daily “quests” in which you can send your vault dwellers into the wastes like when exploring, only its interactive and much more rewarding for both you and your dwellers. No idea what endgame is like nor I established a successful and productive vault beyond 3-4 levels, but eager for more.
Love that there is a game which does not force ads…at all. It is also not necessary to purchase anything. I have been playing Fallout shelter for a long time and I plan to support by buying something. There is a clear strategy to have an easier time in game play, however you do not need one. You also can play offline. The conversations are a bit silly but it’s a fun game.
Game will not load. I’ve tried clearing the cache, I’ve tried uninstalling and downloading it again and again. I played this a couple years ago and decided to download it on my new phone and play. It worked for about 4 days. I select my vault and it gets stuck loading and then kicks me off. I’ve tried about a dozen times since yesterday to log on and play. I’ve spent money in this game and it feels like a giant disappointment.
Started back in 2018, spent alot of time & money into the game. Now i basically have every weapon, clothing & junk item. Only missing 2 special dwellers to have 100% of the game finished. Maxed caps, vault is perfect, every dweller has max stats, weapons and armor to compliment their job. Sadly only way to get those last 2 dwellers is to keep buying lunch boxes and hope i get them. Game however is still enjoyable as it was when i first installed it in 2018! Highly addictive
Edit: I got the hard crahes to stop just so the recent update could bring them back, good job. Hard crashes are becoming more and more frequent. I only just reinstalled this game less than 2 weeks ago and it was only playable for about a week. I tried clearing the cache and if a reinstall means Im going to lose my data then Im just going to uninstall and never come back.
The game WAS very fun, until it just stopped loading one day. I went through the troubleshooting steps – cleared cache, restart phone, yadda yadda – I even uninstalled and tried loading from the cloud however it appears that I lost of month of progress after doing this (cloud save was up to 12/3, after reinstall and cloud load, the date was set to 11/3). It’s very frustrating losing my progress, especially after spending money on said progress. The game is still unplayable.
I love the sound effects, animations, style, and honestly all the detail in the game! Even if you only have, I dunno, 32 dwellers of something random like that- you have so many options of what to do! Go on a quest, build, send dwellers to the wasteland, and so on! There is just so many things that can keep you entertained with the game. Its not repetitive at all as you can get new rooms and explore new things- I love the game so much it has NO ADS and its not Pat-To-Win. Deserves 5 star.
Great game, super fun. But all of a sudden the game just crashes and is absolutely unplayable. It’ll load up to the title screen, and let me choose my vault… But after that, it freezes, the screen turns black, and the app will close. I have the Z Fold4, have tried everything to fix the app, I installing, clearing cache, signing in and out, no updates needed… Just really disappointed that the game won’t work anymore because I had such an amazing vault save.
