  1. I really like DoorDash for all the food delivery options at home or while I’m traveling for work. However, as other reviews have stated, I’ve also been noticing a lot of issues while the app is running. My phone has frozen on numerous occasions but has quickly fixed itself. However, I just completed an order and my phone did a hard freeze for almost 30 minutes. I couldn’t get any function to work and I couldn’t get my phone to power off. I finally got it to restart but they need to fix the app.

  2. I noticed that when you click on the pop-up notifications when using the app, it causes the phone freezing that others are describing. As long as I don’t accidently click on the notifications as they pop up or in the drop-down summary menu, there are no issues. However, this problem feels like it has been in place since early January and can only be fixed when you hard restart your phone. Fix your app.

    I have to agree with a recent review. My phone is android. Overall, the doordash app works . However, I find that almost every time I use the app, about halfway through the ordering/waiting process, the app starts freezing and glitching, and soon it affects everything about my phone. It’s even difficult to restart the phone, but it does clear up after I restart my phone.

  4. The app has been so glitchy and slow for the past few months. It’ll take several minutes to launch and sometimes, just won’t work at all. Other tines, it’ll work fine and then glitch when I’m submitting my order. I have dashpass, but there have been several instances where I had to use another food delivery service because this app wouldn’t work. I’m going to cancel if they don’t fix this. It’s just ridiculous.

  5. My very first order was missing an item. The bag for the restaurant was stealed, which would suggest the driver didn’t check the contents against the attached receipt. When trying to get the missing item resolved I waited for 10+ minutes for an agent hoping they could arrange to have my missing items delivered. Ultimately, I got tired of waiting and went back to the “get credit back” option, which I assumed would go back to my card, it does not. The credit went to the app.

  6. App has started crashing my phone. It took a while to figure it you, but every time we order food my phone would become essentially unusable. The keyboard wouldn’t pop up, the touch screen becomes glitchy and it’s hard to even get it to the screen where I can restart the phone. Really inconvenient, especially if the driver is trying to message you or if you need to use your phone for other purposes.

I’m about to cancel my dashpass because of this app. I thought something was wrong with my phone but I realized it only happened when I used the doordash app. The app consistently freezes and crashes so it takes a lot of time, luck, and patience to actually get your order in. The most annoying thing is that it screws up my whole phone!! It makes my phone go haywire to the point that it freezes for several minutes and won’t even let me turn it off or restart it.

  8. Every single time I use this app my phone crashes. Nothing will open. Nothing will close. My buttons are all useless. When I restart it, my phone acts like it’s updating. When I was on vacation, it did it twice in one day and again the next day. There is no way that Samsung or Google sent out 3 updates in less than 24 hours. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but that didn’t help. Idk what’s going on but how can an app that isn’t spammy and weird render my whole phone unusable?

  9. The app itself is wonderful – when it wants to work right. I had noticed that since just after Christmas, it has been freezing my phone. It doesn’t matter if I click on the notifications or it directly from the app. My phone freezes up some times to the point of not being able to get out of it for quite a while or restart the phone. I have missed phone calls because of this – some from work – as I couldn’t answer them. You need to fix your app.

    The DoorDash app keeps freezing my phone. When I looked at troubleshooting the app, they acknowledged an issue and are “working on it”. However, it just keeps locking everything up on my phone and I decided to delete it until they can get it worked out. It’s too frustrating to have to minimize after every selection just to place an order. Even after clearing my cache I still have the problem. Some times I can’t even unlock my screen. I have to try shutting it down and then it lets me in.

  11. When it works, it works fine. But ever since the last update whenever I open the app, it causes my phone to freeze and become sporadically responsive. Even if I close the app, the problem persists across other programs or even just unlocking the phone. Basically makes the phone unusable. Have to restart the phone every time I place an order. Don’t have this issue with any other app.

  12. Renders my phone to almost unusable everytime I order. I really wish it wasn’t the case and I’ll change my review if the problem is fixed. It slows down my phone to the point where- – I can’t pull down my notifications. – have to try and open my keyboard several times before it shows. – won’t allow me to return to my home screen unless I first see my running apps. – if I close my phone, I have to plug it up to even get the screen to light up. Ect. Ect.

  13. The DoorDash app has a serious bug that needs to be addressed ASAP. I thought something was wrong with my phone but noticed my phone would stutter, glitch, and not respond appropriately after using the DoorDash app; it wouldn’t even. Let me restart my phone without having to go into the settings to restart from there. Please fix this ASAP! It’s been several months now, it’s annoying.

    When the app is in delivery mode, it completely crashes Android 13 phones. This is a widespread bug with reports on Reddit that have been up for months. When this happens, the keyboard won’t open, the power button doesn’t work, and all sorts of other glitches systemwide. The only solution is a reboot. Doordash doesn’t care.

  15. At first I thought I was losing my mind and it was just me, but then I check the reviews and realize tons of other people are experiencing the same exact thing as me. After placing an order, the app will completely freeze up my entire phone, rendering it completely unusable. I’ve had to get creative with finding ways to restart it because when you hold down the power button, it will show up for a split second and then disappear. Every time, without fail. This desperately needs a fix asap.

  16. Freezes my phone completely. Doordash is the best delivery service in my area but the app itself has become practically unusable. Every single time, without fail, when using the app, my phone freezes and stutters so much. DD somehow interferes with restarting my phone too. If I bring up the restart screen, the app tries to reopen and closes the option to restart before I have a chance to click it. All screen responses practically shut down and makes it impossible to use. PLEASE FIX!

  17. It’s very annoying that almost every restaurant doesn’t allow for “special instructions” in the app. Terrible feature to implement since it makes the user experience awful. It used to be very easy to leave a comment for the merchant to exclude basic items like mustard, hot sauce, rice, bread, etc… But now it requires and extra step by the customer to call the store.

  18. Good app to use for a quick bite, but it has 1 major flaws. it messes up my phone. After ordering or just opening the app I have to restart my phone or else it will freeze up on almost everything. It freezes so bad to the point sometimes it won’t even let me turn off my phone. I know some people will say it’s just my phone but I’ve Uninstalled doordash before and my phone worked perfectly fine until I reinstalled. Not to mention that my phone is brand new.

    I thought I had a virus or something with my phone but after a while I realised it’s just doordash. It causes my whole phone to basically breaks and shut down I can’t change screens, and it’s basically impossible to use until you restart, but the glitching from the app makes it almost impossible to restart. Doordash you really need to fix your app.

  20. I, like others, enjoy using the service; it is my go-to food delivery app. However, as of lately, it has been outright freezing my phone and causing severe system/software lag. I know it is this app specifically. When I don’t use it for a few days, my phone is perfectly fine. Please fix this bug, whether it is a memory leak or what.

  21. Loyal Customer Deleting App I have used doordash since I first heard about it. However, whenever I use the app lately, it breaks my phone and renders it impossible to use. The worst part is that it doesn’t happen until you order, so you think everything is going fine. But it isn’t. As soon as you place the order, it’s impossible to use my phone, even to turn it off.

  22. UPDATE: February 2023 So, this is by far the strangest app ever. For some reason, it will freeze every single time I use it. Then, nothing else will work on the phone…BUT only when I open and use this app. I assumed it was an update issue, but there was no update available. So, I deleted the app, restarted the phone, reinstalled the app, restarted the phone…and still the same thing…. OCTOBER 2018 Totally reliable app. Works as expected without glitching.

  23. At what point does an app count as malware? Because Doordash has been slowing down my phone to a crawl almost every other time I’ve opened it, and force-stopping or closing the app doesn’t do anything. My phone has to be restarted nearly every time this happens, which Doordash ALSO slows down significantly. Fix the damn app already. This should be classified as malware at this point, as it’s been an issue for over a month now.

  24. VERY disappointed with the whole thing. The app is very easy to use. It also suggests places nearby with little to no delivery fees. However, I feel they need to work on a few things.For example, today I purchased an order from Dunkin’. One of the items I ordered wasn’t in the bag. I received credits in the amount of the item purchased. Only to reorder said item and had to pay! It makes 0 sense to me. Please work on this!!!!

    Using this app causes my phone (Galaxy S22Ul Ultra) to freeze up for the last few months and become unusable until restarted. This causes the keyboard to not pull up, as well as any other apps and often my notification bar and side buttons are unresponsive as well. The actual app design is mostly intuitive and well-made, I just can’t even use it without causing my phone to freak out.

  26. This app only when I use it does it basically make my phone freak out?! Love the service and convenience of it. I have had it with having to constantly try to fight to restat my phone, the only way I’ve found to temporarily snap it out of stupid mode is to plug it into the charger that’s plugged into the wall. It snaps it out of it for a second. This is ridiculous.

  27. Man, I’ve had some great drivers that I’ve tipped more in cash in-person, but I have had some truly terrible ones. I was trialing DashPass because you save a lot per order, but when you’re waiting for multiple drop-offs, plus the driver/drop-off was terrible, -and- the food was cold? I do not see why I tipped 20%.. I’m just going to get it myself in the future.

  28. Everytime there is an order in progress, my phone freaks out. Total screen freeze in and out of app. The only way I can escape is by holding the home button (Android). Typically, I have to reset the phone. It’s been months, and the app is still doing the same. My phone works perfectly fine with every other app.

  29. Very poor performance. When an order is placed on the app, my phone is very slow, laggy, unresponsive, and certain pop ups don’t work. Not only do I have to force stop the app, but I also occasionally have to reboot my phone. Very poorly optimized and likely causes some pretty nasty memory leaks.

  30. What is this BS where you don’t offer everything in the menu. A bunch of the “suggested” items are honestly really bad suggestions. When you want me to order a side with an entree I’m not really interested in what you think I’m interested in. I want to see all the sides, all the toppings, all the drinks. This platform is so annoying. I’m ordering from a restaurant right now that has fountain drinks but for some damn reason you guys want me to only order water because it’s all that you’ve listed

  31. DoorDash service is good enough, and they always resolve issues with orders quickly and fairly, however the app itself is a nightmare to use. It freezes the whole phone and causes other weird issues after it’s been open for more than a few minutes. I have to restart the phone in order to get things back to normal.

  32. Like others are experiencing, my phone severely stalls and freezes consistently with use of Doordash after recent updates. I’ve tested it with every application and without a doubt, it’s the Doordash app affecting my phone. It will open normally at first, but upon being closed, opening it again is near impossible without stalls and hanging screens. It makes my phone nearly inoperable. I use a Samsung Galaxy S20. It shouldn’t be so out of date to affect it like that.

    Prices are sometimes double what they are in person. Cant order a few “Dollar Menu” items without the total being $25+ A good 80% of the time the items are delivered to the wrong address or left outside without knocking, even though I ALWAYS say hand it to me directly. The app also freezes my phone entirely to the point where I spend sometimes 30 minutes trying to get it to force reboot just so I can use my phone again.

  34. It’s really difficult to order or track through DoorDash when your phone interface crashes every time DoorDash is used. How long is it going to take to fix this bug? Even after force stopping the app, my phone still locks up and has to be restarted to be functional again. This is absolutely unacceptable. I know of no other app that renders your phone disabled upon opening it.

  35. At first I thought it was my phone (had a Note 20) but now that I’ve switched over to a new phone, it’s clear that this app has a LOT of issues. I logged in for the first time since getting this phone and since then, I can’t open my previous orders to see where the driver was, my other apps were glitching, my phone was having an issue picking up my thumbprint, and it kept freezing, and even after fully closing the app, I still kept having issues. I uninstalled it b/c this is ridiculous..

    Review written on 2022/01/30. Like others have written, initial ordering can be a bit sluggish but usable. The issue is once the order is placed that your phone becomes unusable. The order tracking appears to just drain all of the phone’s resources and renders it unusable until you can restart the phone. Sadly even getting to the point where you can restart the phone is difficult as screens lag and freeze up. This is surprising considering I have a relatively newish phone (s22 ultra).

    Decent service and selection. Bigest problem is just about all restaurants mark up each item 20%-40% above menu prices🤬. Secondly to a lesser degree, The paid subscription doesn’t eliminate fees just reduces them to a smaller percentage😢. Overall, like it’s competitors it’s not worth it unless you really need stuff delivered and can’t be bothered getting it yourself.

    I have nonsense problems with the app almost every time. Like it telling me a selection is required when i definitely made the selection. I have to do the same thing over and over 5 times to get it to work. sometimes I’m SOL unless i try on a different device. Not everyone has multiple devices to try. Problems like this are why i dont pay for dash pass anymore. It would be worth it if it worked. But since i mostly order DD while at work, it takes up more time than it saves me getting my own food

  39. In it’s current state, this app causes a bug in Android 13, rendering the phone completely unusable (keyboard doesn’t pop up, eveything unresponsive, etc). Developers need to work with Google immediately to resolve this because this is the only app in which this happens. This has been confirmed by multiple people on Reddit all with different phones on Android 13.

My main problem is that, if I set the food to be here at a certain time, it’s for a reason, I’m not expecting it 30 minutes later when I can’t eat it anymore as I’m now off break, then you have the few that don’t even bother bringing the food in the first place, fix those and it’s a solid service though. Edit: again, Im on the verge of giving up on this app, I’ve set the food to come more than 20 minutes early the last few times I’ve ordered, and it’s not until 40 minutes after that it’s arrives
