My party chat is not working properly. It doesn’t matter if I’m using Bluetooth earbuds, or my phone’s speaker. Once my screen times out or I lock my screen, no one in the party can hear me anymore. Not until I open my screen back up to the app. It is even kicking me due to “networking error” some of the times too. Even though my Internet is strong and working for everything else including my partner on their PS5. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. As well as clearing cache.
The party functionality on the app has always been buggy. I would get kicked from the party when another app on my phone would play audio. As of 2 days ago, the party functionality is now completely broken. You can’t leave the app or even let your phone screen turn off or the party chat will disconnect. Very frustrating and no fix in sight.
The app is good! But the messages don’t load and connection to the servers always times out! Fix that! Would give it 5 stars if it ran smoothly! Update 8/25/24: The app keeps timing out alot and doesn’t even open, it stays forever on the loading screen. I got Playstation stars/points to spend and it doesn’t allow me to cash them in! It just crashes! Fix all the crashes and load times on the app!!!
Joining parties from your phone and saving clips is nice, but this app has some serious issues. Being in a party sometimes glitches, making you unable to mute, leave, and interact with the app, even if you close and reopen it, and the only solution is to power off your phone Something else I find very annoying is that if you close the app, it’ll keep you in the party. You can still hear everyone else, and they can also hear you, which I feel like is a big invasion of privacy.
Edit: It seems to have resolved itself. Crazy. Correcting my previous rating.😁 It won’t load any images at all. The square spaces where they should be remain empty and don’t appear to even be trying to load. Because of this I can’t check my library with the app or the news section. This makes the app pretty much useless. I might uninstall if I don’t start seeing some images soon. Only 2 star until this is resolved.
The app is often slow and unresponsive. And sometimes I want to upload videos from my PlayStation on to my phone, and it just wouldn’t let me do it, it would simply give an error message. This happens to random videos regardless of how long they are. If I have a few clips that are all 5 minutes each, at least one or two of them end up being unable to upload to my phone.
Really enjoying this app, I use it very frequently. Aside from gifs not working properly, everything is pretty good. At least it was up until PlayStation Stars completely stopped working over a month ago. I had over four thousand points saved up, 4000. Everything I check it it says engineers are “working on it.” I really enjoy this app, please tell me the issue will be resolved soon and my accumulated points are still there and usable. Thank you
While the app has a lot of great features, it has some technical issues that should be fixed fairly quickly. PlayStation Stars is still down weeks later and the recent update only added a feature I’m sure nobody cares to have. Sony seems to like pissing off the people who make them money. I hope they compensate all the people who have stars with something other than a digital trophy or something lame like that. I want a thousand stars for the downtime.
Needed help with a payment refund, and the assistant on the contact support Luis.M.B helped me alot with the process. I was trying to click the survey button but I’m not sure if it registered properly so hopefully this will count as feedback. So overall my issue has been greatly resolved. 2nd review: 3 stars because my connection can be 100% and I still get the “can’t download try again later” for downloading clips”
At first downloading clips from the app wasn’t bad. I use it for creating content, recently it’s been super slow. Now I can’t even use it, the clips show a grey screen and just keep loading. They won’t go away, I’ve uninstalled the app twice now. It’s overall super slow, doesn’t work. Two years later and the app still can’t load clips properly. The clip is only 27 seconds long😂 If you do something atleast do it right💯
This app usually works fine, but lately it’s been really laggy and slow. I keep trying to download my photos but it’s so slow and I often have to close the app and refresh it after downloading a couple. It’s super inconvenient. Not to mention, I wish I could download more than 4 at a given time before having to wait more than necessary to download more. 2 stars until it’s fixed.
I’m glad you brought the PlayStation Stars back, cashing out for PlayStation Money is the main thing I use them for, because it helps on buying things in the store. Having the power to convert the Stars into cash gives me more incentive to purchase more in the PlayStation Store. Thank you for keeping the Gift Cards to use them. The games were cool to have, but if I had to choose for trading, it would be the PS Cash. Plus everything in the app seems to run smoothly. 🌟
Last update partially broke the app for me. When I open it, it freezes while loading. I have to close it then re-open it and then it’ll work. Uninstalled and reinstalled and it didn’t help. PS Stars no longer available on app…. or is still “down”. Seems intentional that stars went down while all the big sales passed by and with other big sales still going on…
Very buggy. Shows captures already deleted that you can still download, Playstation Stars doesn’t load at all, shows old friend requests, and can be overall slow. The only good thing is quick access to games you play, friends, and profile editing. Even then, you cant even see your banner. Hope these issues get fixed :/
After years of functioning with no issue the app is now useless. I am unable to even sign into the app, constantly receiving error codes. I have uninstalled, updated sign in information, etc., with no effect. Support is non-existent. Uninstalled! With PlayStations new “plus premium” nonsense, charging ridiculous prices for ancient games unless you subscribe, it may be time to leave the PlayStation family!!!
Overall, it’s a good app to get any and all games you want to download and play later on even while you’re out, but currently the stars part of the app isn’t working, and it’s been down for 2 weeks at least, at this point many players could’ve gotten a game or two from the points alone, I think we need some compensation as some of the players might’ve already gotten enough points for them to be redeemed for PS money. Wish we could at least use the system to use the points, but it’s locked by app
It does the job but lately I’ve had to reinstall twice now just so I can access and download pics from the gallery which is incredibly annoying to do. PA doesn’t allow sharing anymore to Facebook or Twitter (understandably) but the app shouldn’t error out like this multiple times if we’re gonna have no other option for sharing pictures.
This app can’t go more than a couple minutes without fully crashing when viewing my game captures and clips. It’s unbelievable how bad this part of the app is. It needs to be fixed. I can’t even view the first few seconds of my videos bc of how the app stutters and lags just trying to open up and play a clip I made. And if I do finally get to start viewing the clip, it crashes. This has been the case for YEARS. Please do something about this.
Slowest app I have EVER used. Try to sign in, it asks for a code. You go into your ps4 to get the code, and the app wont even allow you to input the whole code. You go online to see if there’s some solution, and none can be found, at least even with an hour of research. And, of course, sony support was no help. Edit: years later, different phone, it still crashes and slows to a brutal crawl. Pay your people better, Sony.
Using a Note 10 Plus. This app rarely sends messages. Hammer the send button and nothing happens. Won’t send images either. All this worked a month ago, but not anymore. Not even going to ask you to fix it, because it is your updates that mess up the app when it is running fine. Now it isn’t fine.
