Got it for the olympics but it’s hardly reliable. It will occasionally play the content with just audio, no picture at all. If I exit out of streaming a show mid episode it will not save the progress for me to return to so I have to start all over, ads included. I can’t save anything to “my stuff” list for some reason so I have to search for what I want to watch each time. Even if I liked the content enough to stay subscribed I wouldn’t because the app is so damn frustrating to use. Edit: No
Nothing quite like paying for a streaming service just to constantly be bombarded by ads. Literally just had a 120-second ad sequence, 30 seconds of the actual TV show I was watching, and then another 40-second ad sequence. This is stupid. I have Hulu, Netflix, Paramount, Disney, Max, Prime, Apple TV, and none of them do this.
Downgraded a star as of today still a lot of issues with this app. Constantly freezes and you can’t watch anything fully before getting frustrated and shutting it off. And now a price increase? For what? Not being able to use the app??? I have so many issues with this app. The video is choppy, it’s freezes way too much and the app just crashes way too much. Please fix.
Out of everything they have. It’s not very good. It appears that everything that was in 4K has been removed. I’ve noticed when I play movies and TV shows that it’s blurry, dark and kinda faded looking. Causing me to adjust my TV. The app itself doesn’t look like that. Only when I play something. I am currently a premium plus subscriber. If this is the best this service has to offer. Think I’m better off going with something else for entertainment.
I got this app to watch the Olympics thinking it was a pretty good deal, but the inability to replay the broadcasts right away is infuriating. I started an event an hour or so late and was able to start it back from the beginning, but when the live coverage ended I was kicked out. I went back to the event and saw a note saying, “replay available soon” Why isn’t it available right away? This is to something that every other online platform has had for years now.
Absolute garbage. They’ll make you sit through 2 minutes of commercials every time you touch the fast forward button… in addition to the regularly spaced commercial breaks. While trying to skip the break between events on an olympics broadcast, I gave up after enduring over 10 minutes of commercials and only about 30 seconds of programming. Hands-down, the worst paid streaming service I’ve ever made the mistake of throwing my money at.
So glad I’m not the only one having issues with this app, by far the worst Streaming service I ever had. One of my biggest issues is it’s CONSTANTLY freezing, I thought maybe it was just my Internet but now that I see others having this issue it’s frustrating. But it can play 10, 3 minute Ads within a 40 minute show PERFECTLY, 720p, Perfect frame by frame, but once you get back to the show “oh no sorry can’t load it” by far the most money hungry BS I ever seen.
For some reason this Peacock app only uses a small portion of my phone’s screen while watching. There is about a half inch all the way around the image missing making the viewing area half as big as it should be. I can’t find any option to Fill Screen or Zoom. Never ever seen any app that doesn’t use the whole screen. That is absurd. If they fix this I will give more stars. (I updated the app also. No change)
I signed up for it. paid for it, and it’s a real pain in the mmmmmmmm just to watch. keeps crashing when I try to watch any show. it’s worked once but frequently pauses and buffers. money waisted I think. they paid to have all these good shows but I think they need to invest in making their actual product better.
Meh! Only reason I subscribed was for Reelz OPL. Broadcasts gets delayed longer and longer before availability and commercial breaks become more frequent. Wish I didn’t pay for the full year and would rather have my money back. I’ve already canceled. And BTW, why am I paying to watch ads on something that isn’t live? Another corporate double dipping scam. I guess I shouldn’t have trusted NBC to begin with, they have to compensate somehow for the other failed MSNBS garbage losses I suppose.
I’ve been having a lot of playback issues on the tv app and also my phone app. Video becomes glitchy, subtitles don’t line up with the audio, and videos completely freeze. I don’t mind a couple of minutes of ads, but 90% of ads are in Spanish. I don’t speak Spanish. I don’t google Spanish. I don’t watch Spanish shows. I’m getting really annoyed since I have to pay for this service.
Too many crashes. Shame NBC just can’t seem to build an APP that is stable and has intuitive UX. Now to add the frustration of trying to use this thing on the Olympics on a smart TV is even worse. Inability to scan at speed (highlight links are never correct) and then get 120secs of ads every time I try to fast fwd makes it worthless. I’ll just wait until NBC posts the highlight on YouTube and ruin the surprise with their titles. Shame they just can’t get the Olympics right
Worst streaming app I’ve used. Ads are constant and when it loses your spot in a program (which is frequent) it forces you to watch every single ad leading up to the place you were previously which can be 30 minutes of non-stop ads. Only installed to watch the Olympics and will promptly cancel my subscription and uninstall immediately after they complete.
Constantly buffering and freezing on any/ every device. Should have been addressed by now and I/ we expect better tech from Peacock. (No, I won’t go to the suggested cut/paste reply link posted on almost every review. It’s that laziness that got me/ us here.) Arguably the worst functioning media app. The sad thing is that the app has quality content, but it’s so frustrating to use. With NFL around the corner, this should be Priority #1. People, people, work the problem!
Always drops connection. We don’t have that with any other streaming service. They also record ads into some of their content, like the Olympics, so that even if you pay extra for ad-free service you still have to watch ads. Terrible streaming service compared to all the others. We are dropping it at the end of our first month.
Add “Restart from Beginning” option on episodes! Help! I’m trying to rewatch an episode, and there is no “start from beginning” option; as soon as I start playing it, it skips to the next episode! There’s no customer service, and no way to submit feedback. Their online “chat bot” doesn’t allow keyboard inputs. I try “rewinding” as soon as the episode starts, but it’s no use, it just skips to the next episode. 20 minutes later of failed attempts I’ve logged into my PC to watch instead.
when in FORCED landscape mode (using an app called ultimate rotation control) when viewing a single episode in the information view, the play button disappears so I can’t play the episode, I have to switch back to portrait mode such that the play button reappears again so that I can play the episode, only after that can I switch back to landscape mode. this tiny thing is bugging me a lot please fix it and I will give you five stars.
Very few selections, could wait a couple months and see shows/movies on other platforms. Anything you watch always drags, skips, and buffers throughout the entire show/movie. I cleared caches and did everything to try to fix the buffering but to no avail. Finally had enough and ended membership. What a shame.
I’m very upset that they didn’t broadcast the medals ceremony for Women’s All-around Gymnastics!! I made a point to view it live and they cut off the stream right after Biles won. That’s what sent me here to rate my experience. Additionally, buffering always has a 5 second delay at the start of everything, the picture being blurry. Also, the sound keeps cutting out for a second about once every 5-10 minutes. This does not happen with any of my other streaming services. So disappointing.
Mildly better than before but still tons of bugs. I watched an Olympic event to the end and now I want to go back to it and it won’t start from the beginning. It just opens the event and closes right away. so many little things like this. Watching live events is infuriating because it does everything it can to ruin what happened by pushing you to the end even if you paused.
