Would be 5 stars, however, the game has crashed twice. Not normally a big deal, but both times it crashed it cleared out all the slots I had bought in my aquarium. I had 14 slots filled with whales. Got no money for them, just gone. To top it off, I had to purchase all the slots again, and again. Highly annoying considering I didn’t lose any other progress. Makes me want to delete the game.
This game is one of the best I’ve seen on the app store! First of all, barely any ads during the gameplay, not buggy, runs very smoothly, and it’s a very simple concept. The only “bad thing” about this app, is the gold chests. They are extremely annoying. Pretty much shoving ads down your throat.
If you’re looking for the ultimate fishing experience, this is not it… This is a simplistic, relaxing, artsy game that has a small amount of strategy involved in the more difficult catches… Progress is not limited by anything other than how much you play, not how much you pay (not counting in-game currency obviously, which you obtain and spend in order to upgrade). Very easy to get the hang of and keeps you coming back to land the bigger catches to throw in your aquarium.
I’ve been playing this game for days now and think it’s great. The graphics are appealing, the music is relaxing, and the idea is pretty fun. I personally am even ok with the ads. The only issues I have are: – sometimes I tap repeatedly to reel in w/ extra precision and the reel then misbehaves. – some fish’s alert radius are VERY small compared to others. Ok in general, but when I have to catch 50+ copies of a fish to summon the one I’m looking for, it can get pretty annoying.
I enjoy the game for the most part. It is relaxing and has good music. Unfortunately, I can’t open the ad chests. I keep getting an error message, “problem loading ad, try again later”. I just added some fish to my aquarium, but i can’t feed them, because there’s always a problem loading ad. I have been able to run ads, but very rarely. Hopefully, you fix this bug soon!
There are just to many ads to enjoy this game. On top of having the audacity to charge the highest price I’ve ever seen to remove ads, at 8.99, it will continue to have them for certain features. Also, things that I would see as just normal progression items are consumables. Items to make lower level fish ignore your (multi-tier) bait, is a one and done. It’s not expensive but it is annoying to always buy and re-equip.
The game looks nice & the concept is good. But the UI is slow & clunky. There are a bunch of menus to go thru, the English isn’t great, & the instructions could be clearer. The game doesn’t autosave. The biggest issue with the game is the ads & price. I’m ok with paying to remove ads, but this is in no way a $9 game. And you have to go through so many ads in the normal course of play. In 5 minutes i can get promoted to watch 5+ videos. It’s overkill.
A pretty fun and addictive game. The music is honestly my favorite part. A decent variety of fish and several different levels. Gameplay is simple. Ads are a bit much, save for the aquarium recharge which is understandable. The microtransactions are a bit costly, specifically ad removal. Doesnt take much time to finish the index, thus you are left with little to do which is my only true complaint. A very good time killer, but could use regular updates adding more variety in fish, more levels.
It’s the best game that I’ve ever played when relaxing. The music calms my mind, there’s no end to the fishes, the events sort of amplifies the music’s effect on me personally. I do find it confusing on how there are PENGUINS in a lighthiuse sea, or A WHALE near the TOP of the lighthouse sea instead of near the bottom. *it’s been almost 2 weeks, just made it to the second area. I like how the music changed as well. Nice attention to detail.
I played this game for several hours and here is my honest opinion. The first thing I noticed was the pleasantly simple artwork, and paired with the melody it does create a peaceful atmosphere. The gameplay is very easy although pretty repetitive and linear… but eventually it just didn’t feel like enough. Then there were too many ads, and the ad removal fee seemed really high like $8.99. I just couldn’t to justify the cost. Eventually the ads wore me down and I got burnt out and just quit.
I absolutely love the game! I absolutely hate the ads! I’m knocking 2 stars off because the majority of the adds are 30 seconds long, cannot be skipped, and to get rid of them, you have to spend $9 to buy your way out of them! I would absolutely pay $3 maybe even $4. But I cannot justify $9. I want to and wish that I could justify it. And the 30 second adds are typically repetative. I would say in 10 minutes of gameplay, you will spend 3 minutes on ads. I’m deleting the game because of it!
Really fun, mostly relaxing game. I wish a lot of things, mostly I wish there were less ads. If you want to progress at all you are bombarded with advertisements, which just gets frustrating really quickly. I also wish there were more permanent means to get the lower level fish to stay away, instead of paying a ton of coins to get something that’s one use and might not even get you anything.
The controls are easy, getting far in the game isn’t too difficult, and the mechanics fit well. There are a few issues with stuff such as the gold chests bugging out and not working no matter how many times you try, the aquarium being laggy (may be only an issue on my half) and the map buttons not working. The game is overall great though. It’s calming, fun, and rather addictive.
Did not play for very long, it was hard to get into the game. Caught a handful of fish, made a few upgrades, it was going decently well. But then I quickly hit a speed bump where I couldn’t catch any fish without upgrading and I didn’t have enough money to upgrade. I could upgrade by earning gold from the aquarium, but that REQUIRED ads. I don’t mind ads, but this is a dark path that makes watching ads essential/integral to gameplay. That is a no go for me.
if you want a chance to catch bigger fish you are forced to buy items to keep smaller fish away. This eould be great but the items are single use and you have to keep buying them after every fish. Not worth wasting your time on a game that doesn’t want you to succeed. There is also an animation after every single movement which makes the gameplay extremely slow. It looks good though…so there is that…
I really really love this game. It’s easily addictive, & let’s you accomplish goals, while keeping more in store for higher levels. I haven’t hit like a road block to get to the next part because it’s nicely spaced so that you have to work hard to get to the next level, but you CAN get there. I want to let the game devs know that my special bonus gold map is glitching. As soon as I load into the game, it starts the countdown again but I never actually get to play the bonus map. Love the game tho!
Really well designed. Some random ads, but not overwhelming. It is really easy to get good and max out everything. Fulfilling the catalogue or what I call fish pokedex is somewhat challenging. I do believe there need to be more boats and more charachters or upgrades for boats and new clothes for character customization. Really fun and a good way to pass the time. The 2 flaws I have with this game: 1- Manual Saves. 2- Data is not transferable to new devices. Good game, play it if you have time.
It’s very pretty, but that’s about it. Every little bit of the gameplay is transactional, to wit, the first thing the game instructs you to do is to upgrade all of your equipment, and you’d better, or you won’t catch anything. There are supposedly ads that let you earn gold or complete steps, but I could never get any of them to play. Fastest install to uninstall ever for me, about eight minutes.
This would be such a great game…fun gameplay, relaxing, intuitive controls. But the ADS! They are constant, one after the other, most are 30 seconds and unskippable. I would pay to remove them but they doesn’t seem to be an option. I’m uninstalling even though I like it because the ads are insufferable.
Genuinely a good game. In theory, anyways. Solid concept, execution, decent progression. Game feels a bit slow, but not unbearably so. The problem? Ads. Everywhere. All the time. Constantly. Chest? Ad. Aquarium fish hungry? Ad. Click the upgrade too many times? Ad. Been playing for six minutes? Bam, random ad. Went too far to the right? Have an ad! Unaware that we make other games? We got you. Ad. I’d love to provide more meaningful, useful, critical review. But you’ll need to watch an ad first.
A relaxing experience, to be sure. I also like the option to skip the ads; i don’t mind watching to feed the fish or open a chest for money. Sometimes the ads won’t load and i can never feed my fish. It would be nice if there was an option to use your gold to feed the fish for those moments. Perhaps a few more relaxing songs would make this even better.
Great game in terms of graphics and gameplay. The only complaint is that its a little heavy handed on the ads, and even if you purchase add free, you still have to watch quite a few for base game mechanics like aquarium and gold chests (which are frequent and cant always be avoided). Would be 5 stars if my phone wasnt hijacked for 5 minutes of back to back ads.
Honestly , I feel like the other reviews are looking at it from a competitive standpoint. I dont feel like that’s what this is, as the title and intro implies, it’s fishing and life. As the cutscene shows the guy getting away and unwinding. This game provides a good mix of relaxation and strategy. I’m sure there are quirks , but all games have this. But overall with the art style, mechanics, and astounding choice in music, I feel as though this legitimately deserves the 5 stars I’m giving.
The game runs smoothly and didn’t seem to have bugs, but it also didn’t have much content, and its monetization is very excessive for such a minimal and repetitive game/experience. I would give it three stars for looking and sounding nice, but an ad coming on at high volume out of nowhere during fishing woke up my partner when playing in bed, and that made me lose respect for what is supposed to be a relaxing game.
This game is wonderful in play and execution. Now I don’t mind the occasional ad for a buff or something, but this has is absolutely plagued with them. The way it stops you from doing anything behind an ad wall is rediculous and severely hurts the game’s playability. It feels like all the amazing quality is just thrown out the window for a cash grab at this point.
The concept and art are very nice, but I did not enjoy the game. I did not find it relaxing at all and found it frustrating to have to keep upgrading and going back and forth between screens to make any progress, not to mention the slight lag i got when i did so. A lot of chests and other things have an option to watch ads to progress, but whenever I tried to it just didnt let me watch an ad in the first place. Why give me so many gold chests locked by ads when the ads dont work? Annoying.
Overall it’s a great game. Been playing for around 3 weeks and enjoy it. I don’t have many issues but will leave them here, both for Creator and players. 1. Lots of Ads and even the paid version still has aquarium ads. As much as I enjoy the game 8$ is a lot for a mobile game. Make it truly no Ads and cut that price in half and the players that get it would make up for the difference. 2. Would love to see more aquariums. Want to categorize fish, maybe even backgrounds?
This game has a strange allure and can be addictive. Cant quite put my finger on it but its enjoyable and kind of relaxing. To the developers; we really dont need the pop up telling us what the bait is upgraded to every single time. As a tutorial in the beginning sure, or add a little bait icon or stars to the HUD or something because that pop up every single time you upgrade the bait (you do it frequently) disrupts the flow big time and really gets annoying after a while. Just my 2 cents.
This game is, well amazing in my opinion. It’s relaxing, calm, and so much more. There’s only a few problems that I’ve encountered, the first one is the pop up ads. I know people say that those ads are five seconds, but for me it’s about twenty. And the other problem is that, sometimes the store glitches out and the screen freezes. I know it’s not my device, because it never happens. Please improve these, I will give it a five start rating if you do. This game is amazing. My favorite. Thats all
Definitely getting that dopamine. My one braincell is very pleased. I study graphic design and this is one of the prettiest games I’ve seen out there! The flow is nice, the graphics are top notch, and the ads are very discreet (they’re often only shown if you want to do bonus actions. You can just turn of wifi otherwise.). It’s very soothing to play after a long day. My one complaint is that I wish there was a way to sell fish from the net individually instead of in bulk.
I actually love it. Surprisingly captivating for a slow and casual game. You can watch ads to earn extra gold, but I don’t like that the ads sometimes pop up either way, and they’re super long. Take those ads out, and I’ll give the fifth star. My other complaint could be that it’s pretty stinking hard to keep expensive bait away from cheap fish, but I could understand that some people enjoy the challenge.
POSITIVE: soft colors, lovely little scenery, peaceful music, relaxing atmosphere NEGATIVE: in-game progress much slower if player does not watch the 30 second ads for coins ALSO The mood is constantly interrupted with notifications and suggestions telling you to upgrade, buy a boat, or do something. Need an option to disable all the hand holding. All I want is the fish, the music, the sky, the atmosphere. Just like in real life. Would be 100x better. Thanks
Very relaxing and easy to obtain highest levels/equipment. Stress free, the goals to achieve are only those you have set for yourself. Once your fisherman has reached their max, it’s just catch and collect. They are always adding new fish, it’s fun and requires some patience to catch the fish you are after. Would recommend to anyone wanting a fun, easy way to unwind.
I greatly enjoy the game, but the ads are EXTREMELY intrusive. This leaves me in a quandary because tho I can deal with paying $8.99 for the full version (that’s high for a mobile game, BTW, but w/e) , but I kind of don’t want to reward the publishers for bad behavior. also, for that price I’d expect a full unlock, but all it really does is remove the ads. I know people need to make money. The frequency of ads in the unpaid version, though, makes it more of a demo than a freemium game.
I’m hard-pressed to find another game that captures my attention for as long as this one. With mobile games, I’m a heavy critic. I often install something, and between ten minutes or a day later it’s off my phone. This game has a repetitive but addictive idea behind it which makes it enjoyable. It’s setting and music also adds to the theme really well. Good job.
The game style is gorgeous and the sound is amazing. Very polished and professional. However the amount of ads is ridiculous and makes the experience a lot worse. Very ad heavy within the game and to unlock some of the random chests you also need to watch ads for those. Overall I wasn’t my motivated to play it for more than just a couple of days. Always sucks when you’re trying to lure in a fish and get an ad in the middle of your progress. It’s fine, but overall not worth the download.
Amazing and pretty game! I normally get really frustrated playing most fishing games because they either make it EXTREMELY difficult or it’s just littered with ads. I decided to pay for no ads because it’s a beautiful game and I’d love to see more of it. More than happy to support. Relaxing and not overwhelming at all. I like the mechanics and the leveling up process. Simple and easy to keep track of. Can’t wait to see where it goes
I would love to give it 5 stars, but if you get a fish to high level or without bait you have to recast. I would like it better if the rod stayed in the water but you lost the bait. Also the higher level fish were everywhere and I couldn’t catch the ones my level. Otherwise it is an amazing game, just too frustrating for me at points
It’s fun friendly and easy! It helped me with my anxiety just to relax and fish. I even have my own aquarium! Games don’t have to be bloody or violent to be enjoyable. Just something so simple and peaceful can easily be the best entertainment out there. I enjoy the updates and various features. Keep it up! 🙂 Feedback: More baits! A new game mode? Multiple aquariums. Something new and cool! Feedback on decorations : Have a decoration capacity so it doesn’t interfere with owning fish
This game is already a nice game to play, but I believe some things should be added to make the game a little less frustrating. First of all, instead of making bait guards a one time use, make them more expensive and have them last forever/ be upgradable. Also, I think if you reach a certain level you should just be able to catch level 2 fish without level 1 bait. Overall a decent game but more should be added.
