  1. I discovered Houzz more than 10 years ago on my Fire and was mesmerized by the full-screen, beautiful images that inspired ideas for my own home… until they stopped supporting the app on that device. I had to install it on my phone from Google Play. Now I am forced to look at images of homes and literal landscapes in PORTAIT mode only, instead of in landscape mode. It feels awkward and unnatural. I am definitely missing the old version.

  2. The AR capabilities are neat… but the constant requests to allow access to my contacts is obnoxious. Even when I select “don’t ask again” and deny permissions on the android prompt, the app still asks me to go into my settings and enable access to contacts every time I want to save a picture. and then always takes me a “share” screen which I have to back out of. I don’t want to send the pictures to anyone, and I certainly am not going to give a furniture app access to my contacts.

  3. I really like the concept of this app and it has been quite helpful for getting ideas and advice for my own home improvement projects. However I find it doesn’t quite hit the mark for being very user friendly. Finding the advice section from the home page is difficult and posting on it is quirky without any way to edit or delete once you’ve submitted something.

  4. I signed up through the app less than an hour ago. Now I’m signed out, and it won’t let me sign back in. Before I was signed out, I was unable to edit my profile. Several menu items were also broken. Touching triggers a very fast loading notice, then it disappeared and nothing happens. I am at home with a strong WiFi connection. I want to like this app, but right now I don’t think I can even use it. Developers, please get some testers and UX people and pay attention to their feedback.

What happened to the save option? For some reason this app has changed and when I click save it puts it in the wrong idea book rather than giving me a choice. When I try to correct it I get a search box instead of my list of idea books so I have to try to remember all the exact names of my ideabooks and then there is no confirmation that the idea has been moved. The same problem exists when I go to an ideabook and try to move a pic to the correct ideabook. It is frustrating!

Got this app because it said I could use AR to view things in my room, but I’ve looked everywhere and don’t see that option. It’s basically a decor-centered Pinterest board with the hopes that you will buy things. It’s nice for saving inspirational pics, but idk if I need an app for that. Also, as soon as I signed up I got absolutely flooded with advertisement emails from them lol. I disabled them all, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they also sold my address…

  7. I was looking for a layout app but this one is just ideas… basically a bunch of pretty pictures which are admittedly in a rather run-of-the-mill taste…. I found loads of much better ideas on Pinterest…. instant uninstall.

Love that you can add other photos! Putting some of the items/ pins from Pinterest I’ve saved into one board is very helpful! That way it’s gathered all together. Also not as distracting as Pinterest because it’s just for house projects, easier that way to focus on the project(s). I have ADHD so Pinterest gets me rather side tracked sometimes… 10/10 ❤️👍

  9. ok, I’ve been using this app for years. love it. there are some features that are bothering me, but overall is a great app. when in doubt about what I should buy for my house, or what color I should paint my walls I just spend hours, even days using this app and I find inspiration. great app

  10. 1 starring until they actually allow you to disable all notifications in the app. The app has 3 notification settings, I have all 3 off, and yet I get notifications for me to look at decor ideas I never asked for. So let’s call it what it really is: Dishonest spam.

  11. I LOVE the HOUZZ app! !!!!!!!!!!! I have the app on my devices, except on my NEW Kindle Fire. I had it on all of my old Kindles, but I cannot find it anymore for the NEW Kindle Fire. Please make it available for download on the NEW Kindle Fire. I love the HOUZZ app. I have all of my saved ideas on my old kindle, but I need the app on NEW Kindle, please!!! I use the app every night before bedtime, but I cannot do that anymore on my NEW Kindle Fire!!!!!!!!! Thank you very much. Connie

  12. I wish I could just read articles without app. I love that I can make project folders take notes on photos and save info. Very nice. thank you

  13. I LOVE so much on this app. It has helped me make decisions for design, color, features the entire process of building our new home. Only negative, we built our home ourselves with minimal outsourced help. It would be nice to have product information on some of the construction or building materials (I.e. railing, windows, interior doors).

  14. The only reason to have this service is the virtual room creator and the mobile app doesnt have it, it makes you go on desktop to use it. You might as well just buy a copy of the sims to approximate your new builds because its more intuitive and mods to scale are easy to get and its not a subsciption service. The idea anyone would get clients from this service is laughable.

  15. This is a must have app for remodeling. Going to tile stores and slab yards can be overwhelming and underwhelming if you don’t know what you want to do. Visualizing in your head can also be a scary place. Houzz helps you find what you like and helps to put you in the same page as your designer, contractors, builder or other design associates. A perfect way to communicate your ideas. Thank you Houzz!

  16. I have been using this app for approx 3 years and it has substantially assisted in making the right design decisions and given access to a wide selection of professionals. The search facility and the way it identifies what you are interested in is truly amazing. Also the user forums and shared experiences are priceless.

  17. Love this app and recommend it all the time. Easy to do custom searches, lots of fascinating articles, packed with lots of contractor information

  18. A great app. It gives an array of perspectives that one can search from. I just love the pictures that the app gives. You can almost get everything regarding houses!

  19. I am passionate about interior design and have several idea books in this app. Currently, I am renovating a 102 year-old home that was built in tge craftsman style. I have used Houzz for inspirational ideas. I like it much better than similar apps.

  20. Excellent options for home decor & Interior Designing. t Top notch designs and photos Re uploaded & updated from time to time. plenty of options to choose.

This place has real furniture. Not the cardboard stuff. I bought a dresser here and it was so easy to put together. All pictures, but detailed enough to get the point across. I did not stress once putting it together. The drawers are a little big . I can fit enough things in them to make it worth it. Worked out so well, I bought another for my living room. Everything’s in it’s place and I can find it all now. I’m here today to buy a third. Love you Houzz.

  22. This game is total rubbish I have been trying to login in but it’s not working. Is just like I wasted my data downloading it.

  23. An easy source of inspiration for reno ideas. I found my contractor through Houzz and I am delighted with all the possibilities offered for vendors, merchandise and space/layout. It us particular helpful when you need to visualize and scale the space. Thank you for existing.

  24. Enjoy all the fantastic ideas! All the beautiful pictures!

  25. Kurt Lage dice:

great app. I get a ton of design ideas from here for our Airbnb.

  26. Why do I have to create an account? I understand there can be benefits, but at least let me launch the app and see if I like it before asking me for my information as soon as the app is opened.

  27. inspiration in your pocket! Lots of great ideas & practical tips. Ideabooks make saving and organising images easy. It would have been 5 stars, but for a bug with the app where links to additional articles are a bit broken. To reach the one you want, you need to click on the article above the one needed in the list. A bit annoying, but still a great app!

  28. When uploading a project, from Android have to pick image one by one and unable to choose multiple image from gallery, it takes long time just to find subfolder of subfolder just to choose single image, then have to refind and rechoose it

  29. I feel like when I first started using the app, there was a lot more information about the designs, such as paint colors and where things were actually bought. The reason I removed so many stars is the scroll functionality. All of the pages don’t scroll well and you often end up clicking on pictures or similar item tags. Doesn’t happen in other apps, so it’s got to be something wrong with Houzz. It’s so frustrating to use, I just rage-quit eventually.

  30. I love this app the only thing I think could be added is permission for location so it could help you find contractors and product information and places to buy them around your area so that everything u need is in one App. Other than that everything about this app is awesome possom!!

  31. While there are many positives about this app I think they have started to promote too many products and services at the expense of informative articles and ideas. I used to browse the photos to get ideas and tips and now I usually just open and close within 5 mins. The latest upgrade also brought an unwelcome and confusing look that has made using the app more awkward and difficult to use making it very much less relevant to my needs.

  32. Houzz provides awesome ideas and updates for what is new in home decor and remodeling. It is great for someone like me who is not real good with decorating. This is my go to app when I need a fresh idea.

  33. Great for getting ideas on renos and remodels. I am currently renovating a 3-bedroom, 2 bathroom unit and the ap has given me a lot of good ideas to suit my space and budget. I have also ordered some light fixtures for my new space.

  34. Love the content but same photos appear over and over. Not sure I’m seeing all new stuff. Also don’t find the filters very accurate. For example when I filter compact size….the sizes are still varied and def not all compact. Sometimes sale tags on the pictures won’t go away either. Maybe I just don’t know how to use app properly and it is a user problem and not the app 😅

  35. Horrible, pictures take long to open and almost no AR in 90% of the advertised content. The series on Netflix make it look so easy to visualize this inside your own home but trying just to realize almost nothing has AR enabled… simple example, kitchen island lights, no AR. Please fix it, the products are beautiful, but if i can’t view it in my own home I’m not going to waste my time on the app further.

  36. This app is really helpful especially in giving ideas on house designs and tips.

  37. gives me ideas and the designs are clean and fresh… wish more items had a price tag in the pictures

  38. I would like to cluck on a photo and get a link to purchase items.

  39. I really enjoy everything here. Great customer service and products. Doreen

  40. Houzz provides me so many idea options on everything about getting the home and garden of my dreams. As a first time home owner building from the scratch, it’s a great comfort zone and a huge resource. It’s easy to show contractors examples of what you want and guides on price, where to look. I like the periodic notifications too. The only hitch is it can take a while loading.
