Use this to take a photo and search the internet for the item in the photo. It works pretty good although if you have a unique item it obviously won’t find a match but it will find similar. You can scan plants/bugs to identify them too. Price comparison for online shopping too. Many ways to use this. It is not always accurate but you can see that it’s close and most times gets it right. So I wouldn’t use it if I needed to know something for sure.
Absolutely love this app. Sometimes it is a little out in left field, but usually it is right on. Wish it linked up with a shopping option sometimes. I’ve had fun discovering new things by accident, though, whether because of an intermingled misidentification, a link to an interesting article I can’t resist, or a link to a creative artist or writer with an association to what I have searched.
Google Lens is a very useful app. It allows you to use your camera in locating item specifics; brand, size, model, etc. The results give multiple websites regarding the item searched. Works great in locating information on even some of the most difficult to find items. If an exact match is not found the app displays items that are a close match. I’ve tried other apps that say they can do what Google Lens does, only Google Lens can provide such accurate and detailed information. Thanks Google!
When you tap the capture button it somehow snaps an image from several seconds ago, not what is currently in frame on the screen. You can’t redo the shot by pressing Back, you have to force close & relaunch the app. Worthless. Get your §H¡T together Google. The camera works fine in every other app, so don’t even try blaming my device.
