Leaving my high rating because I like the app overall, and I appreciate the responsiveness of the developers. However, when I check the “current conditions” box in the notification center settings, it shows conditions for a location that I never added to my list and that is far away from where I live (Mt Vernon, KS – I live in Ohio). Mt Vernon also shows up briefly when I open the app, and then goes away, showing the correct location. I’ve stopped using the notification functionality for now.
For the most part it’s great. Very pretty app, easy to use, and pretty close to accurate. I also enjoy having the temperature in my status bar. However, for some reason it keeps reverting back to Mount Vernon weather and not my current location of Orlando. I cannot fix it unless manually going back into the app to have it find my location
I love the app for its’ functionality. It’s easy to use, accurate with a great widget. Unfortunately, I continue to have issues with accessing the network when I install a certain security suite app (Security Masters). I have contacted the customer support and the made the suggestions to no avail. After awhile the app starts to function properly. This, of course, is annoying. I’ve noticed several customers have a problem with network access. I hope the developers address soon.
It’s ok when it connects. I often get an error saying “Network error occurred. Please check your Internet connection.” even though I am connected; whether I’m on Wi-Fi or LTE makes no difference. Force quiting and starting again makes it work, but it’s annoying to keep doing that. Also, the app has bout been updated in a year. I think the Play Store lists November 2017 as the last update. The ad supported version was updated on 2018, so there isn’t incentive to buy the app if it’s neglected.
Update: I sometimes get severe weather notification s, and when clicking on them, get taken to the app. However, the app does not show the alert. The app and the notifications seem out of sync. Cluttered display, sometimes with small white text on top of grayish white image. The radar often fails to load, complaining about a network problem when there is none (I’m on Wi-Fi and all other apps work).
Beautiful but not accurate at all. I wanted to love this app, and visually I do, but what’s the use of a beautiful presentation if the data is VERY OFTEN wrong? 6 or more degrees off, sometimes it’ll say it’s clear when it’s pouring. I thought it was my city but I’ve traveled this weekend and every place I visited had the same issue. Also, the app and widget sorely need a ‘last updated’ timestamp. If they would just allow data to be pulled from more trusted sources this would be great.
It’s nicely done, but there are a couple of annoyances: 1) On a Sunny day, the sky background is too bright. Being able to choose different backgrounds (user image?) would be nice. 2) Needs an even number of “Parameters”. The user chooses what they want to see at the same time (on each side of circle), like Sunrise & Sunset times, but because there’s an odd number of them, they get mixed after the first cycle. Add one, even if a dash (—) so user choices can keep displaying in the same order.
The best and most informative weather app there is! I haven’t seen any problems with the app mistaking my location. For those who see a mismatch between very local conditions and the reports from the app, please understand that the weather stations supplying the data could be far enough away from you that that the weather there is significantly different. My only request is to make it easier to exclude info I don’t care about, such as moon cycle and photo info (I use the text layout).
I set my notification preferences to emergency warnings only, and at 11pm I get noisy messages saying I should bring my umbrella tomorrow. That and the fact that it fails to connect with its own servers to actually deliver weather information, but the app says there’s a problem with *my* internet connection!? Everything else works just fine. I think not. This app is very pretty, and very average, at best.
Nice app with good graphics. I got it for the photographer section showing golden hour. The only issue i have is the temperature displayed isn’t always up to date. I compare the temp with google weather and it can be 10 degrees different. I’m not sure if the weather is coming from Foreca but it’s slow to update. For example, the app says its 79 degrees in Newark CA and its actually 91.
I love the look of this app and it has a ton of data to take in! I struggle with the radar though. It essentially shows how heavy it is raining. But with just basic color blobs on the map, it hard to read or interact. And in the event of severe weather, like we had in our area last month, there is no way to understand severity of weather on their map.
Nice layout (not just “looks nice,” but intuitive & functional) & I haven’t noticed any major inaccuracies. But there’s room for improvement, from lacking info to UI & layout issues, & there’s been very little done to it, with no update in a year & none of those things being addressed, despite pointing them out long ago, which has me looking to move on. Finally, & significantly, it communicates with Facebook. A pro app (no ads) has no (legit) reason to do so. If not for that, I would give it 3*.
I really like the layout and the effects of the app. Very informative. However, the city displayed on my screen widget, is not even close to my location. I have cleared the cache, enabled location,etc.. still isn’t correct. If you had an option to only display a default location, I think that would be a solution for most users that experience the same issue. Other than that, it is a great weather app!
Stay clear of this app, very disappointed with live background not working. Works a couple of times then background freezes, tried to uninstall and reinstall with no success. I even upgraded and bought the paid version to have the ads removed. Thinking I wasted my money! Thanks weather live….for nothing. I have no antivirus or battery saving software on my phone that would interfere with the functionality of this app.
I been using this app for a few years now, it has usually been pretty on point with everything. But on two different phones now the location doesn’t update. I open the app and it always says there was an error or something like that but then it works after I reopen once or twice every day so it can then update like it should when I travel. Other than it’s pretty solid.
I like the way the information is presented, but I do NOT like the fact that I can’t get rid of the moving backround. I would prefer a solid color backround. I find the moving background distracting. UPDATE- turning off “animation” helps by setting a static background, which is much better than the same background in motion, at least to me.
App update. The developers got in touch with me regarding inaccurate weather forecasts given through this app. Keep in mind the app itself is great but a weather app is only as good as the source of weather information that it is connected to. There are several different sources of weather information and the one that they have for my area of the Treasure Coast of Florida is absolutely the pits. I can’t tell you the number of times I have stopped plans to get together with people either on a boat or motorcycle, based on a forecast one or two days ahead that turns out to be completely different on the day of the get together. Unfortunately, by that time it’s too late. I am uninstalling and looking for another weather app. As a retired commercial pilot, weather is a very important part of my life and because we are Outdoors so much, it is an important part of my social planning. Note to the app developers, you have a great app, please connect with a different weather source. I’ve emailed you and sent in screenshots prior to this. Thank you
This has been my weather and background app for years, on multiple phones and tablets. It’s a rock solid app that has never given me trouble or bad weather information whatsoever. The live wallpapers are gorgeous, and the widgets are clear and informative. I usually keep the Complete widget on my home screen with full transparency, and it’s still easy to read. Plus you know the general weather from the background change. Easy top 10 app.
I really enjoy using this app. It has been super accurate so far and I love the many choices in widgets and the full screen live weather effect on the app. If I may make a suggestion, instead of just scrolling weather backgrounds, would you be able to make actual animations instead? That would be epic! That’s my only suggestion. I love everything else lol. Thanks devs!
I really want to like this app but there a few things that bug me. First, I can’t remove the temp from my notification center. Second, why does it keep defaulting to Kent, WA when i turn off GPS? Lastly, would like to get a more detailed description of the hourly conditions. However, it does have a nice interface.
Needs to be frequently updated to match current weather. Not sure if public’s reports determines accuracy for different areas of the same city can have a difference in temperature, barometric pressure readings, and location of rainfall totals. Forecasting can differentiate due to said temperature, barometric pressure readings and location of rainfall. Overall, it can use improvements, however it can be somewhat accurate.
The weather seems fairly accurate in general, but I have to wonder why It is that when I have weather notifications turned on, I’m getting notifications from all over the place. The last notification I got a few minutes ago was for a beach that was 275 miles away from me. If these insane notifications don’t get fixed soon, I’ll be tossing this weather app.
I have looked for just the right weather app for quite awhile. I love this one! I especially like the “golden” and “blue” hours mentioned on the sunrise/sunset part, since I’m a photographer. I only wish the newest version of the app had a buy once option and not just a subscription. Anyway, I’m happy with my purchase.
There is problem with this app, it defaults to Mount Vernon KS, doesn’t obey GPS locations, or adding in the area you are in. Tech support while quick to answer email gives the usual clean cache, delete data, uninstall and reinstall. None of this works its obvious that there is a programming issue, I’ve used this program for years for the great widget, but now it’s useless. Well unless you live in Mount Vernon KS then this is good program. Otherwise useless for other areas.
Love the looks of the app and widgets! The radar map needs work. It moves to fast. I would like to see a switch for past and future radar and a sliding speed adjustment for the radar speed as well as the ability to stop the radar at a certain time and adjust that time by sliding your finger or thumb across a time bar. see(Storm Tracker) Still been using this over other weather widgets because of it’s beautiful widgets. However, I have to use other weather apps and radar apps for certain things.
It’s decent, but the UI is all one color and makes it hard to distinguish between hourly and weekly views. Plus weekly is always off the screen. Swiping right and left on main view is confusing as to if it’s changing the day or the time. Overall it has great information but it takes too long to get to the two things people care about when we open the app. Today’s weather by hour and the weeks weather. Also turning off notifications doesn’t work. I still get flash floods every time it drizzles.
The features on this are great. I especially love that they list golden and blue hours for photographers. Unfortunately, the actual weather forecast is often significantly off. It was so bad I started using my old app for the weather, and this app for the extra features.
Radar still doesn’t work after a few days. After installing it works great for a few days then states no internet connection. I haven’t seen anyone else with this issue. Tried deleting, clearing cache, reinstalled… works for a few days then right back to not working. Poor execution. A shame too, as i believe this is the most visually appealing weather app on the market. Don’t waste your time.
Idk man, it’s accuracy only seems to go as far as current weather. As far as prediction accuracy, it’s awful. It’ll change multiple times, is it getting it’s feed from CNN? You can’t plan anything outdoors using this app, that’s for sure. You’re better off using the app that came with your phone tbh. It’s unfortunate, the UI is great, the aesthetic is pretty. It doesn’t eat up your resources, which is nice, truth be told, I’d gladly give up some battery juice for some accuracy for sure.
This is one of the slickest, prettiest, UI designs you will find. I use many weather apps but this is one of my top favorites. As a photographer of particular interests is the enhanced sunrise / sunset section of info that adds “to the minute” estimations of the “golden hour” and “blue hour”. The light just before sunrise and just after is golden, and 15 to 30 min before sunrise and after sunset is blue . I time my portrait sessions around this as well as sunset sunrise landscapes
I really want this app to be my favorite weather app, but it is missing a critical piece of information about the current and upcoming weather. There is no precipitation summary for the whole day that I can find. Currently, if you want a summary, you need to click on each hour of the day you want to look at, write down the expected amount of rain/snow, then add the numbers together. If possible, it would also be nice if there were a vertical line between days on the hourly timeline.
I really like the widgets and the weather info but it doesn’t update my location as it says it does. I have to manually update it everytime. I tried the location tracker and permissions as specified in other reviews but they don’t work. Please fix then I’ll download it again and adjust my rating review. Update: I did the delete cache and the tracker is set to always. Still it doesn’t update. The app always thinks I’m at Mount Vernon when I’m in Hawaii.
Always been a great app. I’ve used it for years. One rather annoying issue when using the rain radar is that occasionally it will say network error. At first I could fix this by making sure that every other app window was closed. Lately though, nothing seems to help. It is a bug I hope they can fix. It’s still the best I’ve found though and I always recommend it to others.
Tried this app a couple of years ago and decided to delete it for a few reasons. Decided to try it again recently and the improvement is amazing. Accuracy is much improved and there are several new features. Radar is much better and as I have family living in a hurricane zone the new hurricane tracker feature is a great addition. Only needs to include wind speed in hurricane info to make the app pretty near perfect. Recommended 100%👍Thanks developers.
Over time i have been consistently disappointed with the weather predictions from this app. Now, I am giving 2 stars because the user interface and presentation is good. However, a recurring theme plays out with daily and hourly forecast. At present in my location, there is meant to be snow for today and the next two days. Despite this, the weather outside shows no signs of this, nor can I see satellite data to confirm. Every hour this changes to the current conditions, making it useless.
It’s a great weather app with some great features. The widgets look great and so do the live weather wallpapers. What I would like to see is better animations, for example rain drops running down the screen. Or fog in the corners of the screen similar to the old HTC sense from 10 years ago. Also the notification area needs padding as its to congested and the curve nearly cuts in to the temperature. Also the text remains black when dark mode turns on so I can’t read the notifications.
Great app, but for some reason the animated background has stopped working on both my tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab A) and phone (Samsung Galaxy J7). The animated background is constantly stuck on cloudy. Edit:- Thanks for the response. I’d seen previous replies about the battery manager causing problems, so took the app off monitoring. I’d turned anti-virus off. Both to no avail. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app numerous times and it now works fine on my tablet, but not on my phone. However, the widget works fine on the phone – I’ll live with the background animation not working.
My favourite weather app for about 9 years. I find it more reliable than any other weather service I’ve tried except for a weird blip last year, since, they’ve been back to fantastic. Nice widgets and a clean interface. It’s pretty great tbh. Only request would be including a pollen forecast/count as its the only thing I have to search elsewhere.
It notifies me several times per day that “Tropical Storm Survey” has formed. That’s pretty useful. It actually isn’t useful. There’s no “Tropical Storm Survey”, and it certainly doesn’t form multiple times per day. I had to turn off notifications from this app because of this bug.
Stopped working with last Android 9.0 update. I select location and track me in 4×2 widget which it does for a while then widget freezes or goes blank, details do the same. Particularly after a reset. Also, app not updated in quite a while. Noticed there’s a ‘new’ version on the store, with a different purchase structure. Not happy.
