The reason I gave this app 3 stars is because the search option is broken. When you search a word in a document the search bar will glitch out and close. It gets pretty frustrating when you have to type a word over and over again in the search bar. I don’t know what happened to the search feature It has gotten Downgraded over the years to the point where it’s almost useless. This latest problem is another slip in quality. If this problem is corrected I will adjust my rating accordingly.

  2. I signed up for the free trial & went to cancel my subscription but there wasnt a spot to cancel it so I was charged $74.53 for a years subscription by Google Play. Due to Adobe not being able to find the purchase transaction in the system even though they saw I had the year’s subscription, they went ahead and cancelled it and told me to contact Google Play to get my refund. I tried doing so but never got a receipt to my email so I don’t have the transaction number but the charge is on my card!!

  3. Wow this app is HORRID. The interface makes you fight it for every little edit and change, the bullet point options are black when in dark mode so you can’t see them, and the reason why I am deleting it is because it forces you to stay zoomed in on the document when editing. That’s right, you cannot zoom out and view a full page at once, you can only zoom out far enough to see the entire width of the page, and no more. Oh, and you can’t create a blank PDF. The “create” option is for converting

  4. Using this app (free version) as a PDF document reader – pages only scroll left to right, it used to be up/down scrolling where you can see a portion of the adjacent page. And without having an indicator showing that I’m looking at page 1 of 4 (or however many), I am frequently missing out on pertinent information for work that is not on page 1 of the PDF. Bring back up/down scrolling, or at the very least put of a display of “page 1/4” for example. Stop needlessly changing things w/o reason!

  5. It opens up and had found documents I had forgotten about, It was 3 of them. As for being ad free that’s a far fetch! As soon as I opened the app a full page Google ad popped open and it’s damn hard to get around at first then there’s streamers on the bottom of the page plus pop ups I then had tried to delete 2 of the 3 document’s it found 4 times, guess what… They are still on my phone. I have used Adobe since their start up and like it. I just don’t get how they can say. Ad free?

Not ideal for multi-device systems and students. I still can’t manage to get any of my comments or notes to sync using the cloud. I’ve tried everything. It’s okay enough as a reader – it does refuse to open anything I just downloaded – but it still leaves much to be desired as an annotation tool. I’ve completely lost hundreds of pages of notes before & when notes do stick around they’re trapped on a single device…

  7. Missing text… I edited some resumes and got everything I could edited, given the limited features of the program, and saved them as they appeared fine in the original viewing. As I started to send them to where they needed to be, I noticed the thumbnail looked different. When I opened the documents I found that all of the text I had edited was a blank space!! Hours of work went in to the edits for those resumes just to find out they were ruined because of your program! Worst $10 ever spent!!

  8. All you seem to be able to do is make text boxes and add images. It’s not even possible to add bullet points from what I can see. The fact that they ask for a subscription for this barely functional app that is only better than Notepad because the text is in boxes. That’s it, it’s not better formatted, it’s literally just in a box. If I could give negative starts for wasting my time I would.

  9. It allows you to VIEW the file. I received a 400 page document from work which was manually scanned….. upside down. There is a simple rotate button within the pc version at the top toolbar. This option is not available on the Android app unless you subscribe. The name of this app in the Play Store is, “Adobe Acrobat Reader: Edit PDF.” It was a free download. BUT it appears that you can only EDIT if you subscribe. I learned this only after granting access to my Drive. I find this misleading.

  10. Mike dice:

so, i go to start my 7 day trial and after severl unsuccessful attempts at starting a FREE trial, my conclusion is that the “Trial” sign-up checks to see if it can successfully charge whatever you’ve entered as a form of payment. When you enter your card number, that number should not be checked until AFTER the trial period is up. Fix this its broken. Also, app saves everything you put into the subscription areas. It doesnt get rid of them, even if you clear data/cache. Dangerous. DO NOT USE.

  11. Super frustrating, I’m attempting to fill in a check list for work using a fillable PDF and the words are getting cut off but I cant find anyway to adjust the size of the font. It should be a basic feature but for some reason they’ve either pay locked it, though when I signed up for the free trial of pro it didn’t get better, or they’ve just not made font size adjustment a feature. This shouldn’t be this hard. The app is totally fine if you want to view a PDF but not actually use it

  12. This app is barely functional. I think half the recent downloads are from people like me who re-download once or twice a year thinking it would work. The edited text doesn’t save, it won’t open most PDF’s I need it to with no explanation, and most of the functions don’t work, at least not on mobile. One of these days, I’ll stop trying this thing that appears to have been forgotten about by the developers.

  13. I think this app does its job. I have had to uninstall it regularly to restore speed on opening large files, and lately that doesn’t help. I have a manual that is 136 MB and 3120 pages. It takes 12 seconds to open and 8 seconds for the contents to show. Then added time up to 12 seconds to display new pages. I can open it in Google drive, it takes 10 seconds to scroll to the bottom, then instantly displays any page in the book. Unfortunately it doesn’t support bookmarks. Years of this behavior.

  14. I rarely use this all. Today I needed to use it and it had to to update. When it updated and I opened it, a screen opened a page for me to re register using my credit card for verification saying I wouldn’t be charged. I put in all the information. It was NOT anything to do with the app at all. Instead it was to sign up for some streaming service and said after 5 days it would charge $39. VERY deceitful as it presents as the pdf app when it was for an extensive advertisement. I am pissed!!!!

  15. It’s just annoying that phones now a days being the most used for things like this don’t have this kind of thing already installed and for free or less then $20 a month when you don’t really use it much. I would have done the free trail but I didn’t want to deal with having to make sure within a mouth to cancel before the “terms and conditions” automaticallytake it out.

  16. The mobile Reader is one of those apps where 95% of it works great and is just what I need! But the other 5% is absolutely fury-inducing. Yup, I mean the intrusive implementation of Liquid Layout. Most of the PDFs I use on my phone need their columns and other layout elements preserved. It is much easier to pan and scan than try to follow a reflowed version. If it were just an available feature that would be fine, but LL constantly applies automatically and I have to turn it OFF. So annoying.

  17. I’m using this on a chromebook, and it won’t combine two pdf files into one. At this point, it’s no more useful than any free pdf viewer app. From reading other reviews, I’m not the only one that can’t get it to do much on a chromebook. Please fix this! I would love to use your product, but it won’t perform even basic functions.

  18. This is a horrible app for creating PDFs. I tried to combine a bunch of pictures into a PDF and kept getting the same message about an error converting this file. So I tried to use one picture to do it, the same message showed up. As someone who is paying a monthly subscription fee for Adobe Acrobe, this is 100% unacceptable.

  19. Bernt Lie dice:

Horrible app. I opened a 100 p PDF file from OneDrive, and spent 4 hours commenting/inking the file in an Android tablet. Then I exited the app. When I re-open the file, the comments are nowhere to be found. The *obvious* location should be in the original OneDrive file, or: without internet connection – in a local copy, which immediately is synced when internet connection is back I had internet connection the whole time. But file with comments are nowhere to be found.

  20. Hayate dice:

This is a pathetic excuse for a PDF service. You can’t do anything at all without buying an incredibly bloated and overpriced subscription; without that it’s completely useless. What is even more baffling is that when purchasing the subscription, it is advertised as a 7 day free trial – it charged me the same night for the full price despite being meant to have the full run of the trial at my disposal. This app is terrible (and borderline criminal in the case of the subscription). Do not buy it.

  21. Please add customization feature in the reading mode. I am an ebook reader and I find pdfs to be easily readable on reading mode. However, reading mode doesn’t allow to change text size, text spacing, text font etc. making it harder to use. Please add these options in reading mode or increase the scope liquid mode for more than 200 pages. Edit: It has started crashing after using the app for a day. The same happens even after reinstalling the app. Please do something to it…

  22. We get it, Adobe, you want liquid mode to catch on. Meantime, user as are left with a less useful and more annoying app because they have to contend with unwanted prompts that cannot be permanently disabled. Other companies have tried nagging their users to use new features, it generally doesn’t go very well…

  23. Matt E dice:

Developer responded to my review but when I came to check it, the review had been deleted. I guess Adobe dosnt like when you mention that other PDF readers work better. Bottom line Adobe Acrobat Reader crashes constantly and requires permissions to everything. Your better off just opening PDFs using drive or almost any other app that will open them.

  24. can’t zoom out when in scroll view, doesn’t save zoom level when in page view. you either have to pinch the page to the right size every single time you turn a page, or be forced to read a document taking up the full width of your screen with no way to see more. just let me zoom out damnit

  25. I’m not really fond of it, but I know Adobe’s been around for quite sometime now generally speaking. Any cpu service thats had longevity usually takes the time to perfect their craft. That being said, the little bit I did navigate, lets me know it can very much so hold its own efficiently! 👍🏾

  26. Rip off. I got the free trial for my wedding and as people do when getting married I forgot to cancel my free trial. I have been getting charged since July for it, fine whatever. I tried to cancel the subscription since I have absolutely no use for it whatsoever and they want to charge me 90 bucks to cancel, basically forcing me to keep a product I don’t need or want for a whole year. If I could give negative stars I would. So don’t forget to cancel or you’re screwed for a year like I am.

  27. L D dice:

Free version definitely appreciated. Fully intend to purchase most of Adobe apps, products, services etc. One of the last dependably-dependable. Highly recommended to all the using alternative readers. This one simply has the most experience.

  28. Len Cain dice:

I can’t encrypt from the mobile version of Adobe. I have to set a password. I can’t go to tools and use the encryption options. It doesn’t work for me. The reason I upgraded to Adobe was to use the the encryption tool to send my files. Not a fan. Help me out if I’m missing something or doing anything wrong. I have spent the past hour sending test PDF papers to see if I could find a way to encrypt my paperwork. Not a fan

  29. Total waste of time time to install, as they seem to remove the print option when used on a Chromebook. Since this is the only function I needed from Adobe and the support docs for the app say it should be there, that’s a pretty mammoth fail.

  30. SineX Op dice:

Fake subscription. Signed up for a trial run. Got charged by my bank the next day. This is dishonest from Adobe. I barely used the app as i could not even edit the file that i wanted. Deleted as it didnt work after. Also made sure to remove the subscription immediately. Got charged regardless.

  31. Wanted to give 0 stars but not able to do that. Worst app, they just charge you even when you go for free trial. Don’t even go for their free trial, they will charge you for full year even if you cancel the subscription for free trial the same day! They are not doing anything to support you. You will just keep following up. They say here, they will help get resolved but they never resolved and never refunded my money. Don’t go for free trial or to their premium, it’s big big fraud.

  32. It is so bad, it makes me want to cry and smash my computer. You can type in the sheet but don’t ask how. If you type something in the sheet it may actually popup anywhere on the sheet, part of the text most likely missing unless you add at 3 blank space at the end. Printing can only be done after you first make a copy and then sometime you can print. Adobe; do you really think that we want to pay for Acrobat when the free version is so bad? BTW I work with Google OS-Chromebook

  33. Fails to render some PDFs correctly. I’ve got some large technical reference documents that I have been referring to for the past decade. I have read them on eReaders from Sony, Amazon and Kobo. I have read them on iOS devices, Windows, Linux, BSD and macOS using a variety of closed-source and open-source PDF readers, including Adobe Acrobat. Acrobat Reader for Android is the only application that fails to render these documents correctly, often displaying blank areas. Other readers work better.

  34. Good app for reading PDF-files. The actual version suffers a problem when searching a document. Whenever it changes to the next page the search function will have to be restarted and search phrase retyped. Very anoying when working with a 5600 pages standard.

  35. Mason dice:

this the right version from adobe. Before installed one (PDF Reader App -viewer), that was really rubbish. Just open then ads popped up and went to portrait mode some more, hardly to use, so next few second uninstalled but don’t why that app rating 4.6. Only recommend this one from adobe. Can sign and input text to pdf. Adapt landscape….thank u adobe.

  36. Adriane dice:

Extremely useful, easy to navigate and had many useful and neat features…I use it always, even if there are other options I still choose this app for my documents, files and to create pdf’s or papers. Also easy And useful to access your files in order to upload it share them to other platforms.

  37. It opens pdfs documents very slowly ,i mean the text appears very slowly on the screen . It also gets freezed in the mid of highlighting texts and other operations . It is a coveted app , but working not up to the mark 😥👎even other apps like XODO DOCS works fast then this without any glitch . I would recommend developer to use XODO DOCS once. Atleat after using that , u could bring some improvement. I have been using adobe for long time in laptop . I hope u will make improvements. Thanks

  38. Very functional app has a cool function called liquid mode doesn’t necessarily work with everything the really cool when it does-1 star for not being more intuitive seeing as how some documents open in the after Equity it would be nice to be able to change the file name from the app small stuff like that

  39. P&D Mac dice:

Well, first time to open app only gave me a blank screen with an adobe symbol. Once i got rid of the screen, tried to open it again with error mssage popping up every minute even though i did a force stop. Adobe is a computer virus, not a program. Taking in tablet to Geek squad to remove this virus even though the program has been deleted.

  40. What happened to the ability to copy from the documents? I need addresses from docs to plug into my GPS, and it used to allow me to copy. Now I have to type the info in manually. What a ridiculous feature to get rid of.
