I have enjoyed RealPlayer on my PC for many years. I tried the app on my phone a few years ago with disappointing results, thought I’d try it again today. My issue is, why can’t I browse on my phone through the app to select a music or video file or make a Playlist like I can on my PC? Or like I can on many other media apps? Removing the app, again.
I am 54, and just semi-literate when it comes to the world wide interweb. I just found out how to download videos from websites that allow me to take them. (No need to ask what kind of videos, please!) I enjoy downloading them from my laptop or phone, and then playing them on my somewhat larger t.v. screen with the Real Player app. I also enjoy making various playlists for different themes. There is a limit on how many minutes of videos I could store for free, so I shelled out some money for the largest storage space. I am far from rich, but the monthly price was feasible and doable for me. The only problem I had was in trying to share my playlists with one person, but that could have been a tech problem on his end. Also, sometimes the videos I put on on a playlist showed up on the wrong playlist on the tv app.The refresh feature didn’t seem to work on the t.v. Most importantly, I have never had any sense of judgment from the company. I suppose, as long as it is all legal content, there is no issue. Overall, this has been a fun experience for me, curating playlists for me and my friends. Adam in Costa Mesa, California, U.S.A.
I’ve been a RealPlayer user for more than 10 years, and it has never disappointed me. They are consistently reliable and always improving, on a service that I never thought could get better. The program is inexpensive and a great value. It’s easy to use and navigate. You’ll want to make this your default player once you’ve given it a try. It’s ashame I’ve only got 2 thumbs because I’d for sure give it 5 thumbs up !!!
It seemed to be easy to install for a tech-retard like myself. I have liked it on my PC for as long as I’ve used it. It seems odd that I am being asked to write this review for my new device installation before actually trying it. But if it really was successfully installed I am sure I will be as delighted with the REalplayer experience.
Automatically installs additional “security” software without permission. This is a dated and worthless remnant of the 90s. There is so much better software out there that can do anything this can, don’t stoop to this embarrassment of a media player.
Uh oh! What’s happening here! Just wanted to have real player because I think it’s the best. So I purchased the monthly plan and getting ready for real player and too my surprise, real player didn’t worked at all. Please help!

I’ve been using Real player on my desktop computer for a 10 years. However, to use it in mobile device, you have to upgrade to their premium package which is $3.99 or $4.99 to gain full access to the songs or videos you saved to your computer.
The download and video edit program also great. The conversion program compresses video for faster uploads.
Will not allow me to log in because it says my email is already connected thru Google. It says to log in with Google, but there is no option for doing that!
Mobile access poor. If your computer has more than one drive in you library the mobile app will not connect. I have been fighting the issue for over a year. Still no fix has been made.
Need Downloader app that works properly. In a loop. Tells me to log in at google.. Google sends me to realplayer app that sends me back to Google to log in… please fix it.
It’s great! I’ve been using this app off and on for decades. I mostly used it on my desktop. My mobile phone not as much. I really like it a lot.
Downloading my favorite spank bank videos has literally never been easier I literally feel like a life time subscription option would be a no brainer choice for me personally but otherwise imma just stick with the anual subscription payments
Needs more improvement. No changing of orientation of video to landscape to portrait. Also, this doesnt play music from your phone. Library of your videos are not sorted out by folder, only by date. So the menu gets long and clutter, if you have a lot of videos. If these changes were added, easy 5 stars.
Have been using it on desktop/laptop over some decades ago, the same enjoyment is what am getting on phone, it’s like home to home, I love this app Best music/video player ever.
It wouldn’t let me log into my account, but the tech support guys came to the rescue.

Best player on my android. I recommend this player and I would like to use in my personal computer but I don’t know if it’s available for personal computers
I like this app. It works quite well, especially when you want to cast.
It is only unique in that it plays .rm and .rmhd videos. Otherwisr it has nothing unique or useful for tablet owners. I want the full Real Player program so that I don’t have to have two or three video programs on my tablet or constantly download on a PC then transfer or sync them to my tablet. If I wanted to do that I’d stay home and just use my PC. Very disappointing!
App apparently does not register itself in the android OS as a video player, so it’s not in the “Open with…” menu that my file browser app pops up when I long-press the filename of video files. This prevents it from playing video files stored in shared folders on my local area network. Also, can’t play .avi videos (divx codec).
Would say an ad-free video player. Well balanced sound. Sometimes landscape and portrait mode does not work properly. Need to upgarde in some sections
The RealPlayer is a brand that’s been around a long time. The app has potential. Please add pinch to zoom, a-b in video loop, and refined replay button.
I too used RealPlayer for years on my PC and I liked it so much that I bought the license for it. My PC burned out so used my phone. But I was disappointed that in the Mobile version I could not find Audio section ( to edit audio files). So I Uninstalled it. I was also a bit annoyed to see all these online (garbage) videos pop up lol. I hope you’ll have an Audio Player/Editor some day. Thanks.
I downloaded it because I needed to open a .ra (RealAudio) file and then discovered it only plays videos. The description isn’t misleading; I just assumed too much. So maybe it’s unfair to dock it points but I’m bummed. There aren’t ANY apps in the Play Store that will play RealAudio and work on my device.
I hope it’s a fee service because I am currently unemployed but I am long for a new good job.. by the way, just in case you want to help,, Amazon is not an option for at least sixty more days. Nevertheless, I have downloaded real player to my pc , but I have not used it yet. Now I am installing it to my mobile phone through the play store as it suggests, even though I think its optional this time. I hope it’s free if it is not I will uninstall it again.
I just wanted to clarify after I previously gave a semi bad review believing that the app didn’t support landscape mode. it actually does & I hope I didn’t turn anyone away from downloading a very good app. just needs to support folders
This is my third update and you’ve responded with the same solution, verbatim, twice. If my review and updated reviews were read, you would know the solution you provided isn’t the problem. If you would like to help me, please read my update history. The app is useless. I can’t login and the device is set to the Network Date and Time. So that’s not the problem. Please look into the error message I receive: “The client auth token is invalid.” The solution provided is set as it should be.
I tried logging in with my email and get an error that I have to sign in via Facebook, but there is no Facebook button. I logged in on my pc with my Google ID but not i can’t on my android app. Error says its still in development. There is no support on the Help in the app related to this problem. Don’t think I’ll spend my money here. Also it seems that for 5 bucks a month there should be more cloud storage.
This app was my favorite in my old symbian device and I wanted to try it in Android I downloaded it last week . It showed me only video file , I tried to ask the support for help to play mp3 . But even the support section is bugged !!! each time I got error message .
It’s great pity premium is not on all devices I own. It should be for at least 2!
They don’t support their own video format. .rm files don’t show up in the list of videos on my phone, and I don’t see a way to browse to the files. Is this a Y2K thing? If any app should play .rm files it should be yours. When you Google “Real Video Format” the first thing talks about how it was used for video streaming etc. Exactly what this app claims to do as well. Part of me feels like I can’t blame you. .rm files had more artifacts than an Egyptian tomb… 👎👎 Figured out VLC will play .rm

Three Stars because no extra video functions like vlc i.e audio track, Download subtitles and other etc.
Makes my phone useable,,makes computer usable,,I play guitar and sing,,YouTube and realplayrr I can burn videos from my phone now,,or edit my phone clips,,,I’m very happy and couldn’t live without them,,now I can open a YouTube channel maybe make some money of find a lady,,,of course they will cancel out each other ,but I’ll still have my music.
I once loved your app which played my music and this app now appears to have no settings for music. You really did have the best music player once upon a time. Sad indeed!
I don’t need cloud storage .Of its a one time purchase for premium (adfree) then it make sense. Otherwise it cost more than double the price of Netflix in my country .
It was working perfect, now suddenly it has begun to crash.
