I love Wattpad! It’s an amazing app, but a few bugs and glitches are bothering me. The add at the bottom of the screen sends me to the website even if I didn’t click it. That, with the ads between practically every chapter is a little too much for me. I don’t have enough money to pay bills AND pay for a whole bunch of subscriptions. I also feel like a few more things would make the app a better experience. I do love writing, thank you for the otherwise wonderful app!
This app is amazing! I get to read books from all my favorite fandoms! Just two problems. My email won’t verify. No matter how many times I’ve hit resend it never shows up. The other problem is that the ad at the bottom of the screen keeps sending me to websites even when I didn’t click it. Please fix the email problem as I cannot comment, vote, follow or anything that makes the app more fun. I love sharing opinions with people and reading Rick and Morty x readers so I highly recommend!
Normally I would’ve given this a 4/5 rating, but the current issues I’m having with writing, and updating chapters is becoming a real hindrance. Italics spread to words that aren’t specified, pictures deleting themselves constantly, and the screen jumping down to the bottom of the page despite editing a different section of a chapter makes it difficult to write. The only way to fix these issues is to disable auto generate. Don’t know why the creators can’t just go back to an older version…
I love Wattpad for a lot of reasons, but after I got it updated, where I write my stories in has been annoying. It keeps changing my writing like: when I put a few words in Italics, it changes the WHOLE thing into Italics. I don’t want that. I always have my writing stored on the left, but Wattpads been changing it to go to the middle of the page, and I can’t change it back to my own preferences. I don’t know if I should be crying because I’m frustrated or chuck this phone out the window.
Although I love Wattpad, these ads are ridiculous. There’s a BET ad that pops up every 30 seconds, literally. It directs me to the app store to download it. Plus the ad on the bottom of the screen that stays there and keep flashing. And let’s not forget the ad that pops up between chapters. This is crazy. They need to fix this.
What is going on?! I’ve used wattpad for years to write and read. I could deal with the suffocating ads. Now, I can’t even log in to the app version of Wattpad. When I was able to, my writing glitched out completely. There’d be like 5 different versions i’d have to pick through to save. It would be completely italicized, bold, or delete everything! Sometimes, it would add 30 extra paragraph spaces. This is ridiculous and ruining my story. Fix this.
I love Wattpad, it’s an app I’d love to recommend but… this new update sucks. in editing mode images delete themselves, and you can’t just make one selected thing italic because it makes everything italic too, it slides your screen to the very bottom which makes writing hard, it centers your paragraphs and won’t change them back—all in all, it’s just terrible now. The ads before were tolerable and honestly reasonable with the quantity being only after a few chapters but now it’s so much worse.
Love it so many good books! I can read books from many of my favorite fandoms! It’s a great app and I really like how it’s made. The screen does keep glitching and moving the text slightly at the end of a story however, although, I’m not sure if it’s just my device. The premium is also really good and I believe I’ve been using it for around a year now! But besides that, the app is really good and works really well 😀
I really love Wattpad, so I won’t give it a 1 star. But, I’ve come back after a while from writing. Since then, nonstop bugs are frustrating me. When writing, it constantly glitches to the bottom of the text. Other times, it makes the entire text in italics. Then it’ll just freeze, and crashes. It’s super annoying! I write a lot of words! I use italics regularly, but if it does this, I can’t keep going back to each individual one! Please fix this soon! It’s ruining my writing experience.
Its an amazing app, don’t get me wrong. However, there is a few issues. One being how you can’t skip adds between chapters majority of the time, and many are repetitive. I would also like to point out that everyone has this problem: the add bar at the bottom of the sceen. It wasn’t originally an annoyance, but the x, if there even is one, is impossible to click. And don’t forget how it flashes. It’s a huge disruption to reading. Thank you for reading my concerns/ problems.
It has trouble going to the next chapter. Sometimes it works, other times you have to completely exit the story and choose the next chapter in the drop down menu, or close the app and then try both again. I appreciate the dark mode, thank you for that!! Ads can be annoying, esp when you have to stop in the middle of a story to watch a fricken full screen ad and lose the flow/feeling of the story. Otherwise they’re just little things at the bottom of the page.
Good app in general. But the ads…goddamn there are so many ads. After almost every part of a story, you get an ad. Other than the abundance of ads, the app is easy to use. Easy to figure out. And great for stories. Another smaller complaint is the notifications. I sometimes don’t get the notifications for the books I’m reading, and it can get annoying.
I’ve been using Wattpad for years and it’s a good app to use, however the recent ads update has bothered me. Before it was a reasonable amount, at the end of the chapter, but now it’s that plus at the bottom of the screen while you’re reading. Not only does the ads pull you out of the story, but they don’t acommadate to darkmode users. The ads are bright, colorful, and moving. If you’re easily pulled out of a story I do NOT recommend wattpad.
It’s a very amazing app, so many stories to choose from! But I am a mobile player and I’m starting to get dissapointed. I’ve been pulled from Wattpad to watch ads and get advertised, I can no longer flip my screen, and there have been tons of banner ads popping up at the bottom of the screen, covering my view. I heavily dislike all of these cons of being a mobile user. While I do have laptop with another account on it, it’s really unfair as I don’t get ads on computer.
It’s a good app. I’ve used it for 7 years and the only problems I have is that there were too many ads (ended up paying to not have them) and the fact that sometimes I cannot get connection on it. I’ve been staring at this loading screen for so long. I obviously have connection because it let’s me search but I can’t get notifications or look on the home screen.
I was excited when wattpad came out years ago. Now, I’m more furious than anything. Trying to write feels nearly impossible due to glitches. After writing only 4 paragraphs, it has decided to constantly switch all text to italics after using it for one sentence. I try to switch the bulk back, but, as soon as I start writing again, it changes to italics again. It makes me want to throw my phone across the room. I guess functionality takes a back seat when you’ve already capitalized on its users.
Interesting stories on a once easy to use platform. It’s kind of funny how corporations will change their apps to be worse. Wattpad now crashes at least every 5 chapters or so, and sends me back from a couple paragraphs to 2 whole chapters that I have to scroll through to find my place again. Also they moved the reply box to be on the top of the screen instead of on the bottom which is inconvenient and serves literally no purpose. If you can use it on your pc, do that, otherwise, suffer.
It’s a really great app! There is books for everyone, no matter the type or preference. Nice people on the app. No glitches as far as I’m aware. The ads at the bottom of the screen are kinda annoying, but not like some other apps. Ads only pop up in-between chapters and they are never that Long or anything ( though I wish you could skip them). I love this app alot!
The app is quite good but one problem is that that it messing up and glitching to the point where I literally have to uninstall the app and reinstall it just to fix the problem. There are a few bugs so I hope they get fixed soon. Edit 01.01.2023: My stories are now unpublishing themselves for for reason and I’ve updated the app. It’s getting kind of annoying.
I enjoy it a lot, the layout is simple and easy, theres not many bugs but one problem is the ads, there’s a LOT of ads. I also wish there was a way to see the fics you read without adding it to your library since it’s a bit annoying having to take 50 years trying to find a fic you read.
I love this app! It’s always fun to kick back and read when I’m stressed. There is one little thing gi recommend though..it would be super helpful if we would be able to see if we’ve already read something..sometimes I forget that I’ve already read something and then I start reading and it gets super annoying.
I’ve been using Wattpad on and off for many years, and the amount of ads now is insane. When you get an ad just about every 2 chapters, you’re essentially getting 3 ads because there’s 3 things to click X on! Not only that but they’ve added small ads at the bottom of the chapter you’re reading which is so distracting. I have nothing against snakes but I don’t wanna see a snake slithering around the bottom of my screen from an ad from TikTok. I’ve learned to turn off wifi and data when reading.
I’d give it more stars, but lately the app has been glitching BIG time when trying to edit chapters on the app. It is a hot mess and hard to update anything when the chapters keep glitching and shifting text around. Gifs also aren’t working and keep showing up as ‘obj’ in a small square box. I’ve never had that much trouble with this app. I’ll change the star rating when they fix the app.
The ads on this app is insane. There’s tons of them, and the only way to get rid of them is through buying their membership. Also, for some reason, late at night my app gets laggy. It doesn’t matter what percentage my phone is, battery saving mode, whether it’s on or off the charger, it will lag and only late at night. Also, my entire recommendations is those books you have to pay for, which is kind of annoying. I do love the stories on here though, and that you can write your own.
I love this app, but the ads are extremely annoying. I don’t mind watching ads for the stories or having them around the all like they are on the mobile website, but the way it’s laid out here is every two chapters or so, you get an ad, and while I can understand you need money, forcing the subscription onto freemium users isn’t a good idea to make me wanna subscribe. Maybe if you gave me a good reason, I would. Just saying, love the app, but needs some work.
I really like he app and the layout and I don’t really mind the ads. The only problem is that when my wifi fluctuates or when my wifi is off and I turn it back on, it won’t allow me to go on the app and will say I have a connection problem for hours. This is really disappointing especially because I like the app a lot but I don’t wanna wait hours to actually use the app when I please. Please fix this problem as it has gone on several times.
Honestly love the app.love all the thing I read on it but there’s two things about it that annoys me. 1: the adds,way too many adds. And 2: the fact there’s no like read history,if you start another story and forget to save the last one in either list/library there’s a 80% chance you wont find it again.ive been trying to find one I read years ago but i can’t because I simply didnt save it by accident. But other than that I love this app!
It’s a great app, but it has a lot of issues. Sometimes the app will crash in the middle of reading. It also tells me I have connection problems, which I dont. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and then it gave me difficulty logging back in. Once I was able to, the app behaved as normal, but now its saying I have connection problems again. Please fix.
okay listen: I love wattpad. I like reading and writing books for others to read. But there are two issues that make the app worse. One, the search system. Filtering to find what you want isnt easy, and sometimes when im trying to filter two or more tags it doesnt show me at all what im looking for. For example, [just a random example dont look too close] if i tried to filter for countryhumans and smut, itd only show countryhumans. Also when im writing it keeps taking me to random apps?? idk why
Some stories were removed with the update, the app made me sigh out and sigh back in to my account because the home page wasn’t working, and I noticed that several stories were missing from my library, even one of the two “Available Offline” stories. I can’t find the ones I remember, much less the ones I put in my library to read later. If it is at all possible to fix that, I would appreciate it.
It’s a good app for when you want to read or write story’s, but sometimes when I go to add a new part to my story it says it saves and then it disappears. It’s annoying to write all of it over and over again, there’s quite a few adds which isn’t a big deal to me but It might be a big deal to others. Please fix this and I’ll be sure to update my rating!
I like Wattpad, but for some reason, there is a problem with the table of contents. It is not updating so the chapters of a story are in order. This is an issue that needs to be fixed. Also, the log in keeps glitching and I have to constantly uninstall and reinstall the app. Also, stop with the ads. It’s getting annoying.
it’s a good app, I use quite frequently (as an escape but that’s besides the point) but as of recently the ads have become so unbearable. I keep getting the same two ads for an app I already have and at the end of them they automatically open my app store without me even touching the screen, it’s infuriating.
It works fine on PC, but sometimes I’ll go on my phone and continue writing – I tend to save twice just on case but it’ll say “problem with restoring story” I’ll click the version I want, but it’ll keep telling me theres a problem- I’ve tried resaving, exiting and coming back, leaving the app and coming back but it still pops up with that message. It does that on PC to after not clicking anything . . Usually just saving. It’s not a big problem but it does become annoying and stressful.
Good app but there’s way too many ads. I’ve been getting ads popping up in the middle of a chapter and take me straight to the app store recently and it’s very annoying. You also get ads after every couple of chapters and banner adds at the bottom of every page almost. It’s way too much and extremely annoying.
I absolutely love Wattpad, especially reading stories late at night or on long road trips. I’m a mobile user and when I get an ad, it says “Prepare to adjust volume” which, I do like that they gives us a bit of a warning. Although I do wish it gaves us a bit of a warning for brightness. I usually read late at night and to be given a warning about brightness levels changing would be really helpful.
Wattpad is barely functional. You used to be able to have multiple offline books you could read but now you can only have two unless you want to spend a lot for Wattpad Premium/Premium+. Wattpad now has pop-up ads in chapters, which disturbs reading. Also the new update where they move the reply to comments to the top of the screen instead of keeping it on the bottom is disorienting. I don’t recommend the app at all. Just use the website with an ad blocker. It’s so much better that way.
If I’m being honest, I love this app. It has a bunch of NSFW stories in it which makes it a amazing app, all though there’s 2 small problems, whenever I’m scrolling through the stories a random ad pops up and then I loose my focus on what I was reading, this also goes when you’re at the end of the story, other than that… Keep up the good work. Also, I recently just got on the app and it said “Sorry this story is no longer available.Try to get back online or go to library to read more stories”
Love the app but man are the glitches the worst. I haven’t used the app much the past many months because of it. When scrolling and reading it will randomly glitch out and I have to exit the whole app and re enter, once I’m back to my book im on like 2-3 chapters prior and have to find my spot again. Usually by that point its glitching again. Not very enjoyable when you can read 1 sentence a minute if you’re lucky.
Great stories, but unstable platform. The app is ad heavy and every two chapters you are forced to view ads. Also, as you read you have ads at the bottom, so that makes it somewhat distracting. The app didn’t use to be so ad heavy, but now it has me searching for other apps to read stories.
