  1. An interesting app. It feels similar to the stock lg search, that occurs when you pull down. I was happy to mess around with the app, but ultimately disappointed. The functionality doesn’t really seem, to me, to be worth the premium price. Most of the functionality can be achieved wiyh minimal effort on my part. No offense intended to the developer, I just found that it wasn’t for me

  2. future_jmb dice:

stunned by how cool and useful this app is and how well it integrates with Niagara Launcher. my only complaint thus far is that search doesn’t work for Poweramp the way it works for Spotify, which is a bummer since Poweramp is my main music app. Also, I’m unable to open files from the search, whether in Niagara quick search or with the actual Sesame overlay. it just pops up with an error toast.

  3. I have really enjoyed the app. It has aided in searching for my files, apps, images, videos, any/all types of settings and for any perceived lost items in my phone. With Nova Launcher & Nova Launcher Prime as well as Tesla Notifications the integration has been seamless. I purchased the Pro version and it too is so in depth and quick with results. Thanks so much!

  4. This app is very peculiar. It will absolutely revolutionize the way you CAN your phone, but ONLY if you disclipline yourself to remember it’s actually there and use it. Once you get over the initial hurdle of forming the habit of using it, you’ll wonder how you ever got along without it. For me, I have nothing but my dock on my main home, I hide my notification bar, use a live galaxy background, set Sesame to open on home tap, and the world is at my fingertips. Minimalist functionality.

  5. The concept of this app is pretty cool. I bet it works great, but it only has a 2 week free trial. I would prefer a completely free app, like many others out there. I did notice that it had difficulty connecting my Google account to the app. It would show the prompt for me to login or confirm that I want to connect to it, but it would hang and the loading circle would keep spinning.

  6. It’s great upgrade from the default search option and it adds great shortcuts to many of your favorite things in full depth. It compliments a launcher very well, especially Nova. Definitely would recommend, I bought it before finishing the trial and have no issues with it Edit: Almost a year later of using it and it is my go to search tool! I stopped using Nova but with any other launcher I simply apply Sesame to a gesture and I don’t know what I would do without it.

  7. This is so amazing! I’m always so impressed with the level of expertise one must have in order to build such a flawless, practical, and very easy to use app. Just for launching one app, having Sesame eliminates 3-4 other steps (if not even more than that), before you get to the part of the app that allows you to complete the action you’re intending on making. Example: from home screen, w/1 long press on an icon, I can directly compose an email, visit a fav site, open specific doc files, etc. ♥it

  8. I LOVE Sesame, an amazing app! So much more than any shortcut! Sesame could actually replace a launcher if necessary, but when combined with Nova, it just pushes customizing Android phones (my fave hobby EVER!) to a much higher level because you can choose to put less icons/widgets on Home/Lock screens! Love being able to choose an icon pack for Sesame too! Best app of its type, does it ALL! Hands down you can’t go wrong downloading/buying! Thank you for the awesomeness! A billion ⭐’s❣💕

  9. I love this App. It makes Android far more useful and dynamic. While google is out there limiting features of convieniece, sesame is piling them on. I also love that I can set my default search to ecosia but also send my query too google, maps, Netflix, etc. It’s very smartly laid out once you get the hang of it. I hope they can continue growing and expanding features because this app is the game changer. The support channel on Reddit is fist class too.

  10. tL;DR Amazing personalize shortcuts for all apps and social medias for your phone, free trial than one time pay. Sesame is a great app to personalize your phone. You can instantly go to play store for a selected app on your phone instead of having to search, it makes it easier to add YouTubers to your home screen and all sorts of media. Including custom widgets and settings. I would love to see free version after your trial expires with significant reduce of options to still experience the app.

  11. App is good but developer needs different system of paying for the license. I’ve switched phones and reinstalled the app and in that case I might be able to justify charging me to pay for a license again but all I did was reset my device and re install the app but it wants me to pay again after I already paid once. It’s only like $3 but this is ridiculous. If I pay for a license it should be good at least for the life of my device.

  12. Well, if I was looking for a way to search the internet this would would be great. But supposedly it supports searching for files on my phone, yet it never finds any. It simply keeps doing a Google search. If I could, I’d simply disable any online searching. What about it, developers? Does or does not Sesame search for files. If it only searches the web, it’s not much effort to simply open a web browser. What’s the point of Sesame anyway? Especially with storage getting bigger and bigger..

  13. Looks good and search also works, but having few issues. The most annoying one is with changing the icons. It uses System icons by default and I can’t switch to another. When I pick any other icons pack – it falls back to system.

  14. Sesame Search & Shortcuts is a delightful application and integrates with ChromeOS quite well, adds that extra touch the missing ability to universally search nearly eveything from anywhere, in every sense of the meaning! Give it a shot you won’t be disappointed.

  15. UPDATE: Looks like this app has been purchased by Nova Launcher. Nothing wrong with that, but seems unlikely this app will be updated for those who don’t use Nova. Fingers crossed for an alternative that works as well as this on my Fold 4. —– Amazing app, exactly what I was looking for as a Mac user and fan of apps like quicksilver / launchbar / Alfred. Keep up the fantastic work!

  16. Would love to have an option to hide those two rows of frequent app icons. I wish not to be tempted with time wasting apps’ icons whenever I open Sesame to search for some app. I expected that when I stopped granting Usage access permission that these icons will be gone. Instead I just got notification that I should grant that permission again.

  17. Dacia V dice:

After trying it out for the trial time period, I really have no opinion about it because I never found myself having a need to use it. But, I can’t find the app under my subscriptions so I can cancel the free trial! I don’t want a charge on something I’m not going to even use! Ahhh!! 🤪

  18. bahrta sai dice:

My only issue with this is I would like to be able to choose custom quick search apps. I use the duckduckgo browser instead of chrome, which I haven’t used for a while, but what are meant to be web searches sometimes default to the play store, since I don’t use chrome. I would like to be able to select which apps I use. with that feature this would absolutely be 5 ⭐ worthy.

  19. Sesame replaced fast finder. Fast finder had replaced Google search. Sesame provides me with a common search interface where I can search my phone for apps and contacts, but also search the web using brave (for the results) and qwant (as a search engine). The few Euros I had to pay is nothing compared to the benefits. One very important added benefit is voice typing. Sesame will produce the words I speak and search for what I want. Google search changes my words to something they prefer…

  20. Search is great but… Shortcuts don’t work after reboot. I long press on an app, then hold and drag one of the ‘activity’ shorcuts to the home screen next to it. I tap on it right then and it works. But when I reboot, the shortcut goes dead. Needs a fix by the dev.

  21. I’m facing a really weird issue. I usually search for a Contact name (through Sesame) and click on the call icon to place calls. But recently, I’ve found that the icon for phone calls has been replaced by the email icon. Really, really weird…

  22. This was a GREAT addition to my phone. I can’t tell if I’m more upset that this dev sold out to Branch, or Nova. Anywho, if you care even a little bit about your privacy you shouldn’t use this app. Which is a total shame, because the functionality was amazing. All good things must come to and end. I’m eagerly awaiting and searching for an open sourced replacement.

  23. neill2011 dice:

The app itself is very useful. But for some reason on my device the blur just isn’t working on my device. It must sound really weird, but that and the shortcuts are why I wanted the app to begin with.

  24. The only thing I was missing switching from iOS to Android was the Spotlight feature that is built in on iPhones and Mac devices. This app came to solve everything, does a like-wise experience and now I’ll use forever!!! thanks, this app is just amazing! AMAZING!

  25. Oregano H dice:

Using my phone is much faster. This and Nova launcher are a must have for me. It’s worth it to really take the time to check the available shortcuts and customize it to what you will actually use.

  26. Gets on my nerves after trial ended. Notifications daily begging me to buy this app. I don’t mind the popup thingy at the bottom I get every time I search something. But I really do not like the normal notification I get randomly (even when my phone is standby and I’m not using it) I don’t like beggars. 1 star

  27. David Daly dice:

I don’t leave many reviews but felt this was necessary. I just paid $3.99 for the full version and the first shortcut I went to setup afterwards required another $1.99 purchase. If you feel like paying for something, then paying for it again, then this is the app for you. I have never before purchsed an app, only to get hit with another purchase option immediately afterwards, simply trying to do what I thought I just paid for. I’m not sure if I paid the extra $1.99 if that was it or maybe the next time I tried to setup a shortcut they would want $2.99. I was happy to pay for the app but very unhappy that I couldn’t use it without paying again. Never really got to try out it’s functionality, so can’t comment on that.

  28. Biru Panda dice:

Although I purchased this application about a month ago , it suddenly pops up with a notification that it’s been 54 of your free trail, continue to buy sesame ? What is this exactly? I uninstalled and reinstalled it too, didn’t work.

  29. Abdu Casey dice:

Switched from apex launcher because they are un-loyal to their customers and having paid for the pro version they took it away without warning. Very happy so far with this launcher and all it’s features and customization.

  30. I was using WhatsApp as contact action add on and now it is not showing in list. I have paid for it but suddenly without any reason it just disappears.

  31. Ryan Healy dice:

Love it. Would love it even more if we could have the option to turn Gboard incognito while searching 👌 fingers crossed!

  32. I wasn’t expecting much- but Sesame is great! All the useful features of Google, but is customizable enough to turn off/ modify the annoying/ useless features. I like that I can change my default Search engine to DuckDuckGo, and browser to Firefox Focus (which got can’t do with Google app). I’ve found it useful to be able to search multiple apps (contacts, calendar, notes etc). The UI is very customizable, and the app is very nice and fast, so searching is snappy.

  33. I’m blown away by the versatility. Speeds up every day tasks a lot and it’s very easy to get started and configure to your liking. The only gripes I have is that when I open it there’s a seemingly random list of contacts which I have never called on this phone, and that I cannot use YouTube Vanced instead of YouTube for the quick search feature. Other than that, I have no complaints at all.

  34. Pretty solid. Why is the search bar widget 4×2, that is way too tall and totally ruins the flow of my home screen

  35. I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical about this app to start with, seems to promise quite a bit.. It’s got quite a learning curve – takes the app a day or two to ‘learn’ your movile phone usage and based ita suggestions off that, but it’s definitely a fast learner. I’ll most likely change 4* to 5* once I’m used to the app. Want a minimalist home screen, completely blank but fully functional? It’s right here.

  36. Very good app with fastest search index and app shortcuts. Highly recommended for samsung devices as app search in samsung is very slow.

  37. It’s kinda of buggy after Nova7 and it’s integration turns itself off.. Don’t know why? But it happens on each time you reboot or charge your phone.

  38. Great functionality, the Look and Feel are less developed, purchased the extra’s, but stopped using it because I’m sceptic about the recent take over.

  39. Gave this app another shot. Never even got through the setup before deciding I was done. Twitch integration was a struggle because Sesame kills itself when you tab away, making 2FA a problem, and it says “No supported apps detected” for my Google account.

  40. Oldey that golden, been using this app since about 2008 and couldn’t be happier. Still integrates and quickens systems with shortcuts as well as it did back in that day
