==Story==
Two girls find themselves in a colorless world full of memory, and with no memory of themselves. Each alone, they set out into places often beautiful, and just as often dangerous.

Arcaea’s story is interwoven throughout Main, Side, and Short stories which each focus on individual, playable characters. While separate, they all share the same space: the world of Arcaea. Their reactions to it, and its reactions to them, form an ever-shifting narrative of mystery, sorrow, and bliss. As they explore this heavenly place, follow their steps down paths of glass and grief.

  1. It’s a good game. It may have a lot of things locked behind a pay wall. But as of now, as a F2P player, it has enough content to keep me occupied. And if you’re willing to stick with the game as a F2P player, you might be able to get some more songs for free, like world extend and new years gifts. And the gameplay is really fun, and is a must try for anyone. Only problems for me is world mode, like it’s super grindy, and story is locked behind $30 (no deals) and possibly more.

  2. If you play this on phone be ready for pain. Thumb play is possible with most songs. If you want more fingers youre going to have to find some way to stop your phone from moving from various angles. Some way to slide fingers around the screen without building up friction on the surface, have a screen that isnt cracked, and an OS that doesnt lag. If you have all that you’ll be fine. Amazing game though, I found my brain and my fingers doing some things I didnt even think possible. Git Good/10

  3. Locks all story content behind paywalls, but still offers enough free content at medium to low difficulties to give a thorough try to determine whether buying in will be worthwhile to you, or if the skill ceiling is too high to make buying in worth it to you with your skill level. The free bits I’ve tried so far make me think that with a sufficient discount on DLC, it could be a worthy contender to list in my top 3 or top 4 music games on Android.

I was recommended this game by a friend, it did not disappoint! I’m a big fan of rhythm games and this one syncs very well. I see a lot of people in reviews complaining about pay walls and that the game is too hard lol. Story mode is locked and you have to pay for that, but everything else is free through farming and playing games. Overall this is a great game and they are very much more lenient than other “free-to-play” games I’ve seen. I do recommend!

  5. The first rhythm game I’ve ever played for more than 15 minutes, and it’s so fun!! the songs are great, the art is beautiful, menus are easy to navigate, and it’s not nearly as difficult to play as Voez or even Piano Tiles. I would love to see more metal songs like Purgatorium, but besides that, the songs are fun to play, and the game is difficult enough to where practice is needed, at least for me. I love Arcaea so much!!!

Easily the best mobile game I’ve ever played. For those of you who look for the same things as me in an app, the content is very well polished, and much of it is free. I’ve easily put hundreds of hours into the free parts of this game. The gameplay is that of a rhythm game, involving tapping and sliding your fingers across the screen. The music is (for the most part) quite good. I’ve actually found some songs that I’ve put on Spotify playlists through this game. I can’t recommend it enough.

  7. This is a nice, fun, casual rhythm game with beautiful art, nice songs and a unique story. It has helped calmed me down when I am having anixety attacks bcs of the fact that it doesn’t have a stamina meter that force quits you out of the song like the idol games I’ve played before, so I can just practice and listen to a nice song. It’s worth spending money on. My only complaints are: it is a little picky with hitboxes, and sometimes sky notes are hard to see with the light background.

  8. The sky notes are an interesting mechanic, but are very overused. Segments with them are either too easy, requiring very little of you, or unfair, requiring you to obscure the base notes behind them. It’s also changing to gauge their depth when they change height; while there is a lot of lenience, it’s still distracting.

  9. Musical rhythm game Rockband and Guitar hero style interface but with a complex additional element of “sky notes” which have you do some interesting sliding of notes on a seperate line from the tap/hold notes coming down the standard 4 lines. There’s a story element hinted at the intro but haven’t seen dialogue furthering this claim in the first few levels of character progression. Some songs are locked behind a paywall and others are locked off in the stamina based online world option but they do provide at least 10 free songs on 3 difficulties and characters for those whom want to try out the game before committing. Still undecided on how to recommend this beyond a beautiful rhythm game due to the search for the story element hinted in the intro. Otherwise plays pretty responsively at easy and normal difficulties (called past and present). Will update later. [10/9/2018 EDIT: Story progression is based on seperate music packs which can be bought for the equalivant of $5. Smaller songs packs unrelated to the story can be unlocked for $.99 to $5 depending on if it’s a single song or a multisong pack release. The free song collection is about 16 to 18 songs before you count online world progression unlocks. Online world locks are based on refilling stamina system in which based on the standard difficulty of the song and which character you clear it with will gradually work towards unlocking more stamina banking caps or song availability unlocks. Character leveling also is tied to online only stamina based plays. After level 5 (about 30 stamina worth of plays) stats for characters finally improve so those of you playing for story or character progression will be waiting a few days before you really get anywhere.] The gameplay itself is still very beautiful and best enjoyed when played in present (normal mode) if you a duo THUMB player. If you are tablet wizard or those of us who set your phone down on a flat surface, completing a future (hard) song may then become possible for you since most 7+ difficulty songs require 3 or more contacts/touches per second. In short a full hand and metronome level reflexes will be needed to keep up on future. [[Tl;dr verison: beautiful rhythm game that takes the guitar hero format and adds a dynamic sky judgment line into the mix, most songs are locked off in mirco dlc and online stamina gambit progression. Free offline players get 16 songs on 3 difficulties to sample the gameplay. Story is mostly text based novel.]]

  10. Ok if anyone has played sound voltex IV heavenly heaven or it’s previous game’s, then this is no different. It’s control schematics are very similar in note layout. Very nice collection of tracks and very straght foward for a rythim game. Even if you never played sound voltex, this is a very good alternative in terms of the way it plays. I’d recommend it to friends who like these kind of games and it’s grate that you can even play it offline. And that’s hard to find today In most mobile game’s. however unlocking stuff won’t be possible unless u play in world mode(online), but not a huge deal. Overall since I’m a major fan of the sound voltex games and I saw this was similar I gave it a go and I enjoy it. Very good and addicting game for a mobile device. Keep up the good work

Ok dont get me wrong, I LOVE this game so much, but why is it that when I uninstall the game, I have to rebuy all of the levels I had (using fragments) even though I already had them. I understand your current fragments being reset, but not your levels. Plz Change. (Correction, you are able to hit the sync button when completing a level and are able to download your songs back. Ehy not give this option from the start?) Great game otherwise, totally recommend.

  12. This game is pretty fun and has some cool features. It would be nice if things were better explained. You can’t really get new characters without paying real life money for them, and some songs are only playble for free in world mode. You also cant turn on tap se if your game is really laggy. If you’re willing to spend money on it it would be really fun. Edited to correct spelling errors.

  13. I love this game. It’s one of the only free to play rhythm game that I’ve played where buying something is more of an option than a requirement. Yes you can buy song packs, but the game has more than enough free content to keep you preoccupied. Even though sometimes the 3-D pipe system is kind of weird and janky, it isn’t really a problem most of the time. If you enjoy rhythm games, you’ll enjoy Arcaea.

  14. The interface, while still not perfect, has been improved a lot over the years. There are still features missing that this game sorely needs, most important of which is an actual practice/training mode that gives you the ability to choose a section of a song to practice and the ability to play it slowed down. When the best way to actually get better after a certain point is to watch gameplay from the top players to figure out certain patterns, I think that’s a problem.

  15. I had an S8 Edge, which made this game unplayable. I downgraded to an S4, and boy was the wait worth it. The double-track system is different, yet they managed to pull it off in a way that keeps the gameplay smooth and satisfying. Plus, the songs are very fun to play.

  16. Amazing rhythm game dripping with a cohesive theme. Unique mechanics and a beautiful visual design. I removed one star because the paid DLC has some of their songs locked behind the time gated World mode with its Stamina system. I don’t mind having to grind for the unlock but I don’t appreciate it being time-gated. I think the time-gate makes sense for the free content… Also, I recommend they add the random song button somewhere besides the very bottom of the list. Imagine being on ALL SONG..

  17. Arcaea is a hard rhythm game with beautiful art and a great collection of songs. The major problem I had with it is that when I transferred devices the songs I had unlocked before weren’t unlocked anymore. In order to unlock songs you have to play and collect fragments and sometimes even unlock other songs before it. Think a kind of pre-requisite to buying certain songs. Also you have to buy and complete the songs before it for each difficulty of the song you’re trying to unlock.

  18. You start with very little, but earn fragments the more you play, allowing for a decent selection of free content. I quickly learned the practice at lower levels is necessary to avoid frustration. I play a lot of rhythm games and could barely touch a 5 at first, but by the time I grinded enough fragments for the more difficult 7s and 8s, 5s were a no-brainer and I could actually handle the huge difficulty leap between 7s and 8s. Best rhythm game Android has to offer!

  19. Jeff F dice:

Played many mobile rhythm games and here how it stacks in comparison. Game play is some of the most crisp you’ll find. Unique and fun note design. Probably has the highest overall difficulty I’ve found. Desperately needs side bars like Phigros so my palm doesn’t mess up notes or accidentally hit the pause button which will completely ruin a run. MANY GREAT songs, all full length. But many take a LONG time to unlock. And MANY are PERMANENTLY stuck behind pay walls. About $1 per song.

  20. I love rhythm games so when I found this game that contains two planes which the notes can be on it really took rhythm games to the next level. I would say it’s pretty good but as some who is a free 2 play gamer, there’s some songs that are locked behind payroll. Either way I recommend trying it once if you like rhythm games and are looking to spice it up.
