Unable to manually select files within a torrent on s20 fe. Files highlight but you are unable to specify which files you do or don’t want to download. Also the “help us improve” button in the app doesn’t work. Nothing happens and is only there to look nice. No actual bug reporting possible so 1 star.
Very serviceable, and simple. Would like to see more of the desktop version’s features added, especially download location control, but the app is low-cost, and works very well. (I don’t care much for the integrated media player, and use VLC for that, since it has integrated volume, subtitle, and other controls. People who are less particular than I am will probably be glad uTorrent has a player integrated – one less app to manage.)
Stick with free ver., Pro ver. is just not worth it atm. Overall, The app still feels bare bones at its current state. Not a lot of features like other torrent apps I’ve seen/used, so I can’t give it a high rating at the moment. EDIT: I deleted a video from a file manager. Then I deleted the torrent file from utorrent. The video would still be in utorrent’s video section even though it’s not in my phone anymore. May be a possible glitch or bug. Fixed by uninst. and reinst. EDIT2: Slow DL speed 🙁
Was a 5 until the update. New UI is a visual headache; file names are huge but download stats are tiny? Lost ability to open videos in 3rd party app by long pressing file; and the included player is missing basic functions that are standard in most players. Files don’t seem to show up in Samsung Video app either; might be Samsung’s problem but no issues on other torrent apps I’ve tested. Looks like I will be shopping for a new app. What a shame, I’ve been loyal for years.
Best Torrenting App Available; Purchasing the Pro Version 1000000% worth the money. This app is so fast, so easy to use, integrates seemlessly with whatever software ecosystem you toss it in, and is continuously bug-free. I’ve never has so much as a temporary slow-down of processes within the app, and any files it says it can handle, it can. HIGHLY recommend this one!
Used this client on PC since it’s first came out and it’s always functioned the way I wanted but on Android this app is absolutely trash… hot garbage, don’t know what the issue is with it but on many different phones I have had the same problem lots of times which is that it simply won’t download or won’t connect to peers. Very disappointing after paying for the app when I could of just used frostwire or Vuze for free which both seem to work great with no hassle at all. So ya, use frostwire.
cannot click anything in landscape view. all current downloads queue when app is in background. besides that works good been using for years. update: I allow the app to use both (battery & data) in background and all app settings are off. not sure what else it could be. ill email you direct to see if we can find a fix… thanks for the response
Never really works properly. It always seems to throttle download speeds or just outright not work. For years I always thought I was doing something wrong but I found a competitor app and id downloaded everything I needed practically instantly and provided much clearer download statistics and information. I will say though, Utorrent web is a completely different story on PC. Works perfectly every time. Shame the app doesn’t compare whatsoever
Been using the app for years! Didn’t mind the adds at first cause I would just close the app and go back in to stop the add. I purchased the add free version a couple months back because I got tired of being cheap it was only $3. Now I just got a new phone. I look through the app store and the add free version is nowhere to be found. So after all these years, you wait til I purchase the app to now only offer the version with adds.
Do NOT download if you have the most recent version of Android it was crash the second you try to download ANYTHING. It does it on both my tablets, and i updated my phone over the weekend and it opens and crashes instantly. Just downloaded a fresh one on this phone, no change. This app is BROKEN and until it’s fixed it is a waste of time and money
Pro version: 1. Magnet links no longer work directly from the source. Need to copy the link and paste into the app 2. App stops working if it doesn’t have the focus (doesn’t work in the background), which renders it pretty much useless, unless one dedicates an android device to just run the app
Greatest torrent app ever Edited to 2 stars. The new visual update killed the ability to see your download speeds and you sometimes have to either exit the app repeatedly to get it to go away or force close it..Why did you break a good thing. Edited to 1 star. I didn’t think it could possibly get glitchier but here we are. Jesus Christ people, I’ve recommended this program for like 20 years on every device I’ve ever owned but this is sad. Edited: Jesus, now it won’t add a torrent from a file.
After update does not add torrents automatically anymore. Starts the app but thats it. We need option for rollback to last version. OK, it started working again after few restarts and many tries. But this shouldnt be like this.
aweful. its basically the same dysfunctional app the free version is just no ads. Torrents still dont download, constantly having to delete and re download torrents just so they run….i have to delete and re download every single torrent about 20 times to complete the download
Terrible….. can I get a refund. Built in player won’t play .avi files. So frustrating that I cannot access the downloaded files to open in another media player…..the folder is hidden and non accessible!
Works well but won’t close on Samsung devices. You have to hit exit, then clear it from the memory and then you exit again. Why? Support responded quickly. Ticket now raised to resolve.
App is almost like the desktop version but no way to add/remove trackers. Would like to see that added in a future version. If that gets implemented I’ll give it 5 stars till then I give 4 stars.
A few dollars I am never seeing again! I’m removing it and trying another torrent app after years using it, unfortunately! Whoever designed this new layout has zero knowledge about user usability, mygod what a downgrade! I wish I could return to the old version where my downloads were in a simple list where everything could be easily found, now the list is ultra unnecessarily chunky and it takes multiple clicks to find the download speed for example, awful!
Paid for this version had a few issues but u torrent fixed problems and they seem to are now cured thank you! Great to have a team behind an app that solve problems quickly without the bull. Others apps should take note! Thanks again
App doesn’t shut down on request. It just restarts every time I tap the “quit” button. I have to do this half a dozen times or more until the app actually shuts down.
It’s so annoying with this latest version that app won’t stop after file downloaded even Auto-Exit turned on. It’s used to stop by itself when there is no files are downloading or files are paused but now it just stay in background once app is opened. I try to tap to Exit, I have to tap 2 times to make it stop. Another annoying thing is white background appear up top the Torrent file when tapping on to preview which is blocking any information such as file name, file size and estimated times.
Update 08-23-2022 The new edition is buggy. Doesn’t even display the download speed! Same context issues as before. +++++ Update 06-19-2022 Contacted technical support as suggested by the responder to this post. Weeks have gone by. No response. The app is broken on Pixel 5s. Fluid’s FREE torrent app works flawlessly. This app is now worthless. +++++ The latest updates have broken functionality. The program will not just close – it restarts. I have to close it multiple times for it to close.
Basic Graphical Errors: Android after selecting a torrent, the whole box becomes impossible to read (white on white), and the swiping to remove is idiotic as you can’t do multiple at once anymore and have to confirm the deletion or not of the files anyways. Go back to the drawing board please. Pa: Exiting the program triggers a “restarting” animation and it doesn’t close…
I was being a little harsh on this app, as I wasn’t getting used to it. Downloading torrents is reliable and it’s worth it once you get to fully downloaded the torrent with no problems. My video torrents are still not playing when I copy/cut them to another storage drive. It has happened with a few various torrents. Customer service was helpful, saying that a codec is missing, deleted from transferring torrents or my phone is missing a codec. I have hope that this will be fixed one day…
UTorrent pro is faster than the other one .. and this is only one time payment. So good to use if u love movies and u cant access or view it all online..
Been using for ages and no problems, would like an option to move the torrent file out to external card when finished dl tho (Move and delete the torrent link) 🙂
I knew this was coming. Was scared to buy this after seeing the bad reviews. Was working oky for 3 days. Now i can’t download anything. Torrent just stuck at 0%. and don’t bother sending me the copy and paste message “oh we so sorry for the inconvenience please send us a support ticket”
Was a good app not so long ago ,new device I decided to install it again, already bought the pro a long time ago, wen I open the regular version it said thnx for the pro version but it keep on closing wen a torrent start… Can’t download the pro version whiteout paying again and that version close too wen a torrent start…i Want a refund
Background downloading not working. When switching to other apps downloading pauses until open the app again. Need to stay on app without doing anything… Worst app devloped by worst developer.
Missing the download speed on the main screen. This is one of the most important features for deciding if to continue and downloading a specific content
Crashes on tab s8 ultra. Says it has a bug but clearing cache/data/reinstalling doesn’t fix it. Months later still hasn’t been fixed
OK this is what I think know about this for mobile when a person downloads a game/movie you stop the downloading because your phone is dieing and when you EXIT MAKE NO SENSE WHY IT RESTATING SINCE THE PERSON IS TRYING TO EXIT OF THE APPLICATION WHY UTORRENT WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE CORPORATION ARE THEY EVEN TRYING TO FIX THIS APPLICATION/SOFTWARE or skills are dropping Lak of sleep…😐😮💨😮🤔😑🤦🏻♂️
What happened? Used to work fine and now it does not work at all? Tried uninstalling it, tried different torrenting sites. Nada. Zero. Zilch.
Notification doesnt show actual number of seeds and download. Paid for this so I expect this is much more stable/bug free from the free one. Using Galaxy Tab S8 5G.
Keeps opening automatically after I exit the app. If anyone has a solution please share. Because it’s really f***ing annoying.
This app used to be perfect but now when I click on torrents nothing happens. It auto opens like usual but there’s nothing being downloaded.
Once you add a download the App closes as soon as you open it saying it has a bug. tried clearing cache but still not working . the app is up to date, never had an issue with the free version
I think I somehow found the solution. Go to the App’s Settings, then go to the “Theme”, then choose “Use system default”. It worked for me.
I am using the pro version. The magnet links have stopped working since a few months. The torrents do not auto-start. Even when i download the torrent file, it doesn’t start. Although the torrent files were perfectly fine, i mean with good amount of seeds & peers.
Auto shutdown not working even when force closing the app from recent apps or pressing the back button on home screen of the app there is a persistent notification which does not go away in notification bar and also the app randomly starts in the background even without any act of opening torrents or using the app
