Loving PayPal! They got one of the easiest money transfer to friends and family without a fee. It also is great to connect to certain sites that pay you for surveys&games. The fee to transfer money to different accounts is an reasonable amount. So far I have had no problems with PayPal or the app in general. I prefer the app over the website. In my opinion, the app is easier to navigate.
The app is garbage, it always malfunctions and requires a password, and it’s impossible to put together an invoice on it. Been using my browser, but the latest request I received wasn’t invoiced, and the stupid app overrode the browser, and wouldn’t you know it, had to enter my password despite already being logged in with my key. Burn the whole app and start from scratch.
I liked PayPal. But, after the last update, I am frequently (multiple times a day) getting notifications from my system manager telling me that PayPal is running MASSIVE amounts of ram in background. 30% of my ram capacity. It’s bogging down my whole phone and is, needless to say, extremely annoying. Plus, I don’t really use it much since the ebay divorce. I think that was a bad decision. Maybe it’s time to just let PayPal go. I’m happier with my other financial service providers anyway.
Loved the app. It’s fast and convenient. I can check the balance of my money when I can get a handwritten personal check to be approve through Ingo Money. I never had a problem in the past until now. Tried to use the cash a check through the app and of course it got declined. Called customer service and was told to try again and it would go through. Nope it still got declined. At first it was quick and easy but now it’s nothing but a headache.
Easy and convenient for paying bills, friends, anything. Dec 2022 edit- I don’t know what’s going on besides increased fees, but I can’t use my bank account that’s free, even though I’ve had no issues using my bank accounts before! I have to use my debt card for a fee, that keeps increasing! It denies my payments before I even pick a payment method. I have to log out & back in to send payment!? It’s no longer quick, easy, or cheap but Cash App is, so from now on, I’m using it instead! 1 star now
Nothing but problems. Initially I couldn’t add cards to the app, then received security warning from my bank questioning the $1 charge. Time passed and I was successful at adding my credit card immediately followed by an over $900 charge to my account. Now I don’t have access to my debit card and have to go to the bank for a new one. I truly thought, silly me, that PayPal was the safest and most secure option.
I would like a refund of the $6.50 fee to transfer money with a debit or credit card. PayPal has a flaw in the security check where it never goes through no matter how many times you successfully complete the challenge. I did so about 25 times and gave up to then use the debit credit card option instead of checking account. This needs to be remedied. Meanwhile your app needs to be fixed!
Used to love this app. Now, it gives me nothing but problems when trying to send friends and family money using linked accounts. Keep asking them to fix their app, or figure out what’s going on, but they ignore me. UPDATE: They’ve gone from bad to worse, recently, and the app is completely messed up for me. It’s not just affecting friends & family transactions, now, but ANY type of payment initiated from one of my linked accounts.
WORST APP EVER. What kind of money transfer app doesn’t connect with Chase?? Chase is one of the most well-known and commonly used banks in the entire country! Spent over 25 minutes trying to get it to send money from PayPal to Chase, but it’s just not an option. The only option I did have is to wait 10 days for a check, from which they deducted a fee. Ridiculous. I will NEVER use PayPal ever again, nor will I ever recommend it. Done.
Competes against itself. If you get the app on your phone it sends a text message code to verify it’s you. Yet when you have to click out of the app to get the text message code and re-enter the app, it takes you right back to the beginning to log in and get a code again…thus continuing a vicious cycle of you never logging into your account. Extreme flaw on their part. Other apps allow for this or even pop up an ‘allow’ request on the screen.
PayPal used to be easy to use. The app is structured in a way now that makes it very difficult to make payments to merchants with the preferred payment you choose. I should not have to decide which payment method I want to use for individual merchants singlely. If I choose to use one card or payment method as my main choice across the board I shouldn’t have to go into each one individually and make that choice. Absolutely stupid!!!
So typically this app gets the job done and is quicker than the browser version, but recently I’ve been getting daily warnings that the PayPal app is taking up an insane amount of RAM in the background, sometimes when I haven’t even used it that day and the app is closed. I tried their solution of deleting and reinstalling/clearing the cache, but it fixed nothing. I really see no reason why this app should be wrecking my phone’s RAM as much as it does. Hold off till they roll out a fix.
The app is giving me log in issues with the password error even though my password hasn’t changed. The app now wants me to verify photos between the app and the bank, but I’m having issues uploading pictures when the app won’t allow to select the photos to upload for submission. Paypal is also stuck in a loop by notifying to me for paying a fee that I’ve cancelled. There are still some good such as things about Paypal such as the UI and ease of access for use on daily basis compared to a bank.
Terrible!! Everything was great I could make payments via the app for over 2 years. But ever since the update I can’t do anything with the app except check my balance and purchases. Why can’t they go back and undo whatever the did? I try to link my bank account that I’ve had for over 20 years and it keeps saying I don’t have an account with said bank. So now I’m having to go back to making payments via phone call. This takes what feels like forever too many questions.
This app freezes and fails to operate properly. Most of the time I have to go to my desktop and use PP from there. Extremely inconvenient. My latest issue is the captcha running 30 times and not figuring out that I’m a human . It has become a non-functional app. Not recommended, what a waste of time.
It’s an excellent safe and highly efficient payment service. I certainly prefer it to using a credit card because it’s a cash business. That’s the good part, PayPal had also become a credit service. They emphasize credit to the extent that I don’t know how to add money or check my account balance. I think they’d do well to keep things more balanced.
I have been using PayPal exclusively for the past year or so for all kinds of transactions, domestic and international, with confidence because I have never had a problem – none! Thank you, PayPal, for making my life so much easier and worry-free. Oh, I do use Venmo (only payment method acceptable) for this once a month, recurring payment. No problems there, either.
Very easy & convenient! When it comes to money transfers & prepaid banking, PayPal truly sets the standard and is leading the way as one the finest in it’s industry. You can’t go wrong utilizing PayPal’s ever advancing tools and money management services, most of which are free or very inexpensive. 2 thumbs up! To my friends @ PayPal, Keep up the great work! Cheers!🤙🏾
A great app for sending and receiving money and payments. It’s incredibly annoying that they hold all of your payments for Goods/Services for weeks if you have a new account. I’ve had to call twice already to get them to release funds and they’re still holding all my new payments almost a month after creating a new account to keep my sales separate from my personal funds. Even with over 40 incoming transactions totaling over $4,000, all tracking information provided and 0 disputes. Ridiculous!
The App has worked fine I guess until the most recent update. When you try and open the app, the screen turns yellow and immediately crashes to the home screen. I’ve tried to uninstall/reinstall and it didn’t make a difference. It will launch if you open it from the app store which is the only way I was able to complete my transaction. Thankfully I don’t rely on PayPal for frequent payments.
I usually have no complaints with this app but after the last update all it does is open for a split second and then immediately crash. I’ve tried uninstalling it, opening it from the app store and restarting my phone. Nothing has worked. I can only open it from the web browser. I’ll change my rating once this is fixed but it is extremely inconvenient when you rely on it for some form of banking.
A complete headache. Money can be held for inordinate amounts of time for any reason they decide. Linking my bank account was an ordeal in and of itself and they conveniently wait until you’re essentially through the process before you find out all of these blocks are in place. Zelle and cash app are much easier to set up and navigate. Also be aware there is an additional fee if you want access to your money the day it is released.
I’ve used this app for years and I have to agree with the latest reviews. The app is buggy now. I use my fingerprint and it wouldn’t stay up very long then would ask me for a pattern. I never set up a pattern so it’s wrong no matter what I select. I uninstalled then reinstalled and now it’s just stuck on the yellow background with the blue logo and won’t open at all. Need to check what you did in the last update because it messed up the app.
PayPal is wonderful, but the app is awful all of a sudden! I’ve been using PayPal for, like, 20 years? And never had problems with the app until today. I don’t use it very often, but I just went to check it to see if a payment had come in (it had) and it won’t stay open. It just keeps crashing over and over. Updated it, and it won’t even stay on the screen for more than a split second before crashing. What the heck? Uninstaller and reinstalled (has worked with other crashy apps) and same thing.
It works great, is dependable and convienent, especially for long distance transactions, which can be implemented very quickly. PayPal has always been responsive to me and helps with transactions which fail, particularly those which involve Oversea transactions. I wich more definitive information on the transaction was provided and there should be the ability to make notes in a posting of a transaction. That would make them easier to manage. Overall, an excellent application that is quite useful
It keeps crashing. As soon as I enter my birthday, it freezes up, 7 times in a row!! It has been updated but is very cumbersome, and a pain in the *** to navigate. It’s graphics are cool, very retro 2022. A classic case of, “You don’t sell the steak you sell the ‘sizzle’!” Cash App’s UI is a pleasure to navigate 👌🏼
App is currently unusable. I had to change my phone number and it still doesn’t accept the new one. Each time I log in, it defaults to the old phone number for two step verification, so I click try another way, and it sends it to my new number, this ONLY works on browser. Every time I do that on this app, it sends me back to log in again. The app is a bug ridden mess right now. I can’t even log into it. I never review things, but this is just unbelievable.
I have been trying to make a transfer to a friend. The app kept denying it before I could choose the funding source, so I know it was an issue with the app. I contacted the help within the app. Explained the issue. The person understood, but said he couldn’t help me. I then got his last message on my notifications but somehow the app does not allow me to read it, even though it says that messages will be kept for 90 days. After that I try one more time and then voila. Low rating based experience
I can hardly ever access my credit account. There’s always errors. I can’t check my balance and can’t make payments. It’s extremely frustrating. (Update 9/24/22) Now the app doesn’t even open, and crashes so I can’t access my account at all. I’ve closed it completely and restarted, didn’t help. Didn’t even realize I’d go down from two stars.
This PayPal app keeps crashing as soon as I open it. It just blinks and shuts! After trying multiple fixes the only one that works is to restart my phone in order to access it. As it is the only thing working it is annoying because usually I haven’t gone through everything on my home screen that I wanted to before having to restart. After using PayPal for decades I’ve had multiple problems this year alone for the first time. FIX ASAP.
The interface is unintuitive. Sending/receiving money has averaged 14 days the two times I’ve used it so far. It’d be quicker for someone to mail me a paper check. In my most recent transaction, PayPal immediately withdrew the money from the senders account and placed the transaction on pending status for me, the receiver, for 9 calendar days. I initiate a balance transfer to my bank and had to wait another 5 calendar days to show in my account. System is rigged to hold money for two weekends.
Don’t set up autopay with PayPal credit. It’s not as reliable as you may think, because when I had it turned on, it still never made payments and supposedly I’m at fault for it. I got charged late fees and they closed my account. Good, I suppose; it’s not like I’m going to want to use your financing anymore anyways. Used to be a great, reliable app, but now it’s going downhill fast. I’d stick to Venmo if I were you.
I use PayPal for direct deposit from work, and I love it more than any bank I’ve ever been with. I have a card I can use anywhere in person or online, and the balance on the app is immediately updated so i always know exactly what’s in my account. I’m also provided with a detailed list of what & when my expenses were, and money can be sent immediately to other paypal users. No waiting or fees. No overdrafting. This is an incredible app & i love paypal.🖤
The latest updates to the app have made it completely unusable. When it does load, it only loads partial account information. I don’t know if payments have gone through, what my current balances are, or any useful information. And yes, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and cleared cache and continuously get the same results. Fix your app, PayPal.
Went from 5 starts to 1. The app doesn’t want to open ever since the latest changes. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled a couple times but it doesn’t change anything. My bank transfer that is supposed to take 1 to 3 days is taking 5 days. I tried to make 2 payments to my credit cards and both were returned and now I have fees. It’s really gone downhill. I wouldn’t trust PayPal with anything important anymore.
I love this App, you have 30 days to dispute transactions with PayPal. You can add debit cards, bank accounts, credit cards and set-up automatic payments. They’ve increased my spending limit on my PayPal credit account numerous times, without my ever asking. Plus the convenience of sending money to friends, relatives, or anyone is wonderful!
Since the mobile site doesn’t work for some reason, the app was quick to download and signing in was easy. The UI/UX of this app is definitely high quality. I work very closely with Mobile App and web design and I can appreciate the level of effort it too to make this look and feel fresh and with the customer in mind. Fantastic. Update: I did have issues with the app crashing. I uninstalled and reinstalled. It is working fine now.
Seriously.. the app was fine to pay in-store or online with but not for getting paid through. I started receiving payments and the application won’t allow me to transfer to any of my banks even though they are linked to my account. It will only work if I pay the “Instant Money” fee. There’s two options for a reason. My PayPal balance will only show on the app but if I go to the mobile or desktop website it says it’s zero. $0.00 This just feels wrong.
I tried to transfer for no fee but an error occurred setting up routing/account num. I tried again a few days later still didn’t work. Of course, greedy paypal makes sure the transfer method that charges a fee works. I tried to reach out to support and the message center is unavailable. They charged me an instant transfer fee but the transfer didn’t transfer instantly. Phone verification code won’t send. These are all CRITICAL functionality. I will be finding another solution.
The app is alright, but the fact that I have to use the browser to link my debit card to my account is inconvenient. No where that I looked in the app was I able to locate this option. All I saw was things to do with only sending money, or creating a PayPal debit account. The option to add, and manage your personal debit card for the account should be added to the app for easy access on the go.
