  1. Microsoft keeps removing the bad reviews so I’m back to let you all know how terrible this app is. It’s slow, clunky and just doesn’t work as it should. I never get messages in real time, I have to back out of the chat to see when there has been a reply. I can never get calls on the phone. It will ring on my PC but won’t show up on the mobile app until the call has been disconnected and the app shows a missed call notification. This app just sucks a$$ and Microsoft knows it. Fix it already!!

  2. Eric F dice:

Latest update broke everything. Entering the individual chats, the messages are empty or takes a long time to load. The “reply” and quote feature does not work, I can’t even type anything into the text box. Then after a few mins, I get the android pop up that the app is not responding and to either wait or close it. This is one of the critical apps I use for work and it is ridiculous that it was released without adequate testing.

  3. TJ Mills dice:

Can’t seem to turn it off once I open the app. It will ring on my PC and my phone I don’t want my phone ringing when my PC is active. Drains my battery quickly. Often slow to respond and takes a long time to start up. It seems bloated and uses a lot of memory like the PC version. I wish Microsoft would write efficient software. If my work didn’t use this, I would uninstall it.

  4. Teams keeps disconnecting Pixel Buds 2 without fail. Half of the time I can’t open images, and notifications aren’t in sync with desktop. Statuses aren’t updated fast enough, and many many more issues. I only use teams because I’m forced to. This app is absolutely horrible and I have nothing but quality of life bugs that I have to deal with on a day to day basis.

  5. Satisfied for the most part, but I have run into two particularly irritating things. Custom notifications are not great. I can’t seem to get it notify me ONLY when I’m specifically tagged. It still alerts me every time any group I’m in is tagged as well. Second thing is that the push notifications for message previews are just wrong. The notifications simply display the first message from when you last checked the app over and over again each time you get a new one.

  6. Dave G dice:

This is the slowest app on my phone. I use it to call into meetings from my car and also to send messages when I’m away from my PC. When I have Bluetooth enabled on my phone, the app’s sound output won’t use my car’s Bluetooth; instead it randomly switches from using my phone’s speaker to the headset – it seems to “prefer” outputting to the headset. Turning off Bluetooth avoids the issue.

  7. The app keeps glitching on my phone. Whenever I try sending a message in a group chat to someone specifically with the @ symbol, the highlighted name disappears for some reason. Also whenever I try adding a GIF, it sometimes disappears and replaced with this symbol ▓. I use this app for work a lot and never had any problems with it until these glitches showed. Now I can’t send a simple message without these glitches annoying me constantly. This needs to be fixed ASAP please.

  8. It was fine before an update. This app has made me late for an appt twice! When I click the link to the meeting it takes me to a login screen even though I’m already logged in. Says my email doesn’t have an account. Go to create an account and it says my email already has an account. Which I do, but then WHY does it say I don’t have an account when trying to log in again. This is super frustrating!!! Using a link to this app breaks this app

  9. Works as it should. I wish calls could be ended by closing the app. It’s caused some confusing phone calls with clients that I feel negatively reflected on me (I’m an audio engineer who should “know how that stuff works.” Other than that, it’s great to be able to trade off/take over from laptop teams sessions and have it be seamless.

  10. I’ve been using Microsoft teams for work for several years. Overall it is really stable and the features work well. One feature I particularly like is the ability to switch two or from a mobile device from the desktop app which is quite helpful when I am on the go and need to continue attending a meeting or call.

  11. I like the layout and the integration of other Microsoft apps. However the chat functionality seems to only load a very small portion of the conversation at a time, which means I’m constantly running into small loading segments when I want to view a previous conversation. Not to mention it is a resource hog and cuts more than an hour off my laptop’s battery life.

  12. It does some things well, but there’s lots of room for improvement. For instance, the multi-account experience is abysmal. In Slack & Discord, I can easily switch between different accounts, all of my accounts are shown in a list on the side, and the notifications from all accounts pass through transparently. In Teams, it’s only one account at a time. Also, when I’m in a call, the button to open the chat is buried in an ellipsis menu, when it should be right there on the screen.

  13. It took me a while to figure this one out and to say I was extremely frustrated is putting it mildly. But with some persistence I finally got the app to work on my Android 11 phone. So a little helpful information to anyone who’s trying to connect by using the Microsoft teams app. Make sure all your permissions are turned on in the settings app otherwise you won’t connect. I assumed these were already on but after going there they were all off.

  14. In the past I had a terribly difficult time connecting to my Dr on this. At least I think it was the same app. But today it only took 15 seconds when I used to spend 45+ MINUTES TRYING to connect, and about 70% of the time failing. Very frustrating! If this is an upgrade or repairs on your part, congrats 👏🏼 and thank-you!! Excellent job! Well done! If it’s not an upgrade/repairs please help me figure out what to do to make it easy to connect.

  15. I’m concerned about security with Teams as I’m not allowed control over my own account. I find this a huge security and privacy issue and would never purchase this product. Still a total nightmare to use on multiple devices at once, though. The function of the product itself, though, has gotten a lot better. They continue to improve it and have added functionality.

  16. This app would be great if they could iron out the issues with notifications. I miss a lot of important work messages all because I’m afk or on break for more than a few minutes. It seems once your status changes to “away”, the app won’t send updates to your phone or PC until much later, if at all. Edit: updated the review to one star because the notification system seems to have worsened recently

  17. If your workplace uses Microsoft Teams, this app is a solid companion. I love that push notifications are *highly* customizable for each type of activity, and that most of the desktop app’s core functionality is present in the Android app. Rich text editing is also a nice inclusion. However, in-app SharePoint integration and file editing are still buggy, and third-party app support is pitiful. The Teams developers are doing good work with the hand dealt to them by the Microsoft ecosystem.

  18. Brad dice:

Regardless of whether you use two-factor authentication and select the option to remain signed in, Microsoft teams will request me to enter my password nearly every single time I use this app. I don’t have this trouble with the desktop app but the mobile app is in serious need of work. It’s frustrating to have an app that is meant to be for convenient communication with coworkers be a continual source of headaches and something that makes it difficult to stay connected.

  19. Dee Jay dice:

Helpful app w/ room to improve. It allows quick sharing, communication, & integration of extensions that make collaborative work easy. The ability to create Teams, & channels within those Teams make it similar to Discord. It is not friendly to multiple languages (many Microsoft apps can improve greatly in that arena) so you will have to copy paste “special” characters to communicate in various languages. This app (again, like other Microsoft apps) also doesn’t have all punctuation marks.

  20. Jon dice:

Recent update makes the app break frequently. When opening the app, there’s a loading screen screen saying “Managed by your organization” that often never finishes. I have to force close the app several times before it goes through. If I’m on a meeting and it happens, I won’t be able to use the rest of Teams until I’m off the call. Please fix!!!

  21. All the features are fantastic, but it would be nice if it were more reliable and consistent. I’ll make changes to my settings, and a week later features & functions are different and my customizations are wiped out. Or I’ll try to perform an action in a meeting and I fumble around because a button/menu has moved.

  22. I am dissatisfied with the reliability and features of this system. When I have an incoming call, my phone does not always ring through the app. When it does ring and my phone is locked, it hangs up on people half the time while I try to accept. If you want to forward calls to a phone, your company has to upgrade the licence. Once the call does connect, there are often user side connection issues that interrupt meetings and make people incomprehensible.

  23. Could be an Android 13 bug, but the toolbar (chat, people, etc.) now appears as a PiP box and cannot be used. No way to see who is connected through the people screen, let alone mute and manage the meeting. Also, PiP box cannot be moved or closed, which means it blocks access to other apps. For example, I cannot access the select button in Google Drive while in a Teams meeting.

  24. The interface is a little obtuse at times but you get used to it. It works reliably and if the network has bandwidth the sound, video and shared content features work well. Sound and video performance on Android is good most of the time now. They keep adding features and the library of add-ons keeps growing. Good product.

  25. Great for work, school, or just personal. you can have multiple accounts at once, one for work, one for school, and your personal one so you can switch between when you need with ease. Amazing app. only problem I had was using the extra apps you can add. I tried connecting to my tasks tab on my school account but it would not load. Haven’t tried it in a bit so if it works now I will change my review!

  26. Jeremy B dice:

HORRIBLY FRUSTRATING Just trying to join a meeting in which I received an email to, but after multiple attempts with the same results – no matter what I tried – I’ve given up. After inputting my credentials for the meeting (id and password), it always sends me to the app log-in screen where it will not let me delete the previous person who last logged on. I could go on and on, but I’ve had enough Teams for one lifetime. Thankfully we have Zoom.

  27. This tool has a good potential! I already like it. However, there are a few things I’d like to see improvements: 1. There no way to see the Group Chats and Individual chats in different views 2. In the Teams channels, the navigation on the message content is not that user friendly. The usage of the scroll bar on this screen, when you have a lot of content over the time is a mess 3. The search engine is not that efficient. I used other tools before and the one on Teams is the worse.

  28. Rubi M.B dice:

For the past couple of months, it has completely stopped working. Everytime I have a meeting it would crash on my laptop and appear with a error and ‘please try again’ message. I have downloaded the app on my phone, and for some reason Teams can’t seem to handle two active devices at the same time. Never had this issue before, now I can’t get this to work

  29. Kris Deb dice:

Every time I open the app I’m on the useless HOME screen instead of a chat. App is slow and the status is not updating properly. Notifications issues similar to old Skype app. There is no consistency between desktop and mobile versions of work and personal apps, my whole family is trying to use it but it’s just not logical at all. We are in the process of switching to WhatsApp. It’s a shame because I am a Microsoft person.

  30. There are many issues using current app. Recently, I updated my phone device. Since then, using Teams become headache. It takes too long to show the searched words. While typing, suddenly hang or stop working. Whatever written, gone missing. If I tag someone, all written information gone missing. If I attached photos, it’s not shown as photo but show as square box. I think there are other issues and all need to address ASAP to solve.

  31. What a terrible user interface. I downloaded the app with a limited data plan for the sole purpose of joining a meeting on the road. I searched thoroughly, but I could not find a “join meeting” option. That should be the most prominent button, but this app wasted my data and time. Don’t let it waste yours. Zoom is so much better for joining virtual meetings.

  32. T L. S dice:

Terrible app. Keeps crashing upon launch on Android phones. That happened with my old device and the brand new one. None of the workarounds on the Web works (clear cache, storage, reinstall, etc). This is certainly app related, because my account works fine with my husband’s iPhone. This is a well known problem and the “developers” don’t seem to care about all the reports out there.

  33. Utter rubbish! Only app I know of that needs uninstalling and reinstalling every few weeks in order to allow you to use your Bluetooth headset (keeps losing that option after a few days!). Even though it’s in dark mode, chats appear white with grey-coloured text. Genius! Enormous battery hog. I have to disable the app when not using it. Half-baked feature parity to Windows client. No automatic retries of failed sends. Every other app has figured it out, not this one. Message statuses don’t sync

  34. I don’t know what the developers are doing in Microsoft. Neither Mobile App nor their system app works well. Mobile app auto-crashes for no reason in between calls, even if i am typing a msg, it will crash. This issue is there since past 10-11 months, but still there is no one to fix it. They want to update the emojis instead of fixing bugs? What kind of changes they are publishing. please atleast fix the bugs which are in your current application before moving on for new changes.

  35. Don’t understand why they don’t copy good features from zoom and other competitors. example 1. The way screen annotation is done in zoom is so much intuitive. (Not talking about white board) example 2. Why can I record any video call. Why does it have to be a meeting link for the record option to show up? Meh, can’t believe such a big company with so many developers lags behind competitors this much. 🤦🏾‍♂️

  36. Simply the worst tool for work. Particularly awful when language interpretation is required. Teams advertises its interpretation function as automatic (which does not exist yet) and it does not even have a decent listening function as Zoom does. This app is a mistake, do not use it or promote its use if you’re looking for efficiency at your workplace.

  37. Cannot remove lost cached profiles! If you have signed in with multiple accounts (usually business ones) and lose access to any of them, the app will enter a login prompt loop for that account, preventing you from accessing your other accounts. Sometimes mashing the back button 40 times allows you to eacape the login window, but there is no way to remove those cached inaccessible accounts, because the sign out button is within that account profile that you cannot log into. Stupid beyond belief!

  38. I couldn’t find a way how to delete old Microsoft accounts from Teams insalled on Android and how to fully reset it. Every time when I reinstall it, it restores the old data. I lost many hours for researching this problem, but nothing helps. It is stupid to collect all accounts and don’t give you an option to delete unnecessary of them. Also, once installed it isn’t possible to install a fresh copy. I am very angry 😠.

  39. MS Teams App has gotten better. However, one thing I wish would work better is the phone history listing on the Teams App. I would like the date to be near the number in the history listing so that you can see at a glance when someone called. To find out the date of a call you need to tap it and then the date appears. I think the iphone version show the date at a glance, but not on the android version. Bummer….

  40. From last few days facing issue with Bluetooth device while attending a meeting. The main purpose of using this app is confidentiality but the bug present in current version beats it. The audio will plays simultaneously in phones speaker and Bluetooth device, even after manually selecting the bluetooth device from the available audio option. This should be rectified immediately. OVERALL WORST EXPERIENCE

  41. I’ve been using Microsoft Teams for a while now, and my experience has been consistently frustrating. The app is incredibly slow, especially during video calls. It often struggles with connection issues, even when my internet is stable on other platforms. Logging in is also a hassle—sometimes it takes multiple attempts to even get into the app. Overall, it’s been a disappointing experience, and I wouldn’t recommend

  42. Its like they made the app and never actually used it off of their microsoft sponsored work PCs. Its like having a fast car but the AC never works, the thing runs just fine and actually excels in certain categories, but I’m pissed off that I have to sit in a hot car, and oh btw you have to pay to use the radio. There is no quality of life and most certainly no charm to the app. This app was made by machines who dont have time to go through and add and fix stuff for the hell of it.

  43. Something has happened recently where I cannot send messages until I clear my cache and local storage. Even then it only works for a few hours before breaking again. It takes 10 minutes to recieve messages or reactions and it’s just incredibly frustrating. I can’t even see accurate statuses of my coworkers. I’m on call and I can’t rely on this app to make sure those I support can reach me.

  44. Good when it works. For some reason, teams doesn’t work while using mobile connection, on wifi, it’s perfectly fine. If I uninstall them reinstall, it work fine for a little bit, but eventually defaults back to not working unless I’m on my wifi. Sometimes I’m near wifi and need to use the app and can’t. Interestingly enough, I can receive messages, I just can’t respond to them until I’m back on wifi. Not sure what’s wrong here.

  45. Personally I like Teams. It has quality integrations, features, emojis, and is applicable for personal and business. The integration with Outlook is great. The video call quality rarely has issues as well. Zoom’s design is super confusing for me. Google chat is blah, and FB is fine. Slack is meh. The others are meh also. The “New” Windows updated version acts wonky every so often, but the Android version seems stable. I would say it’s probably one of the best. The only one close is Discord.

  46. Now I’m not getting any messages until 24 hours after they were sent!!!! I don’t get any notifications from teams at all! I’ve missed many messages from people because of it. This has been a problem for over a year! Can’t do a very simple and basic task like copying some text, like an address or phone number, from a chat message. It only copies the entire message. Fix your app Microsoft!!!!!!

  47. Scott dice:

Possibly the most rage-inducing app I’ve ever experienced. Freezes, shows a loading icon that never goes away, and only sometimes, occasionally works. Sometimes tells me there’s an update and then I need to wait … for … something, yet that message means literally nothing. Absolutely infuriating, rage-inducing, phenomenally low quality time wasting garbage. Would need 1 trillion promotions to simply “suck”.

  48. The app was functioning properly on my Android phone before the recent update. Now I am no longer able to send messages, it is not accurately syncing up with the desktop version of Teams, both the video and phone call functions do not work, and I am unable to access files that I was previously able to access. There has been no communication about when these issues will be fixed. So, at the moment, I am incredibly disappointed in what was previously an excellent tool.

  49. Android version is buggy. After using this app for a few years, recently the android app stopped syncing my own sent messages from my desktop app. I can see messages I receive on my android but I cannot send messages from my phone. They hang up for a few minutes and I get the error that “messages can’t be sent right now.” This is not a sporadic issue. It has been broken like this for a couple months. I have reinstalled the app twice. Until this bug is sorted out the app is unusable.

  50. When trying to log in I get presented with this error message. “One or more of your apps are out of date. Please update your apps to continue.” I have tried looking up resolutions online, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling every Microsoft app I have on my phone and nothing helps. It worked for about a week and a half and then this error has been popping up ever since. Tried to download an older version but the play store won’t let you. Unusable.

  51. This app is annoying garbage. I’m glad I can access teams, but the level of user control is horrible. You can’t control the sounds of notifications whatsoever. It uses the phone’s default notification sound. You can’t turn the sound off or change it to something unique without ENTIRELY disabling notifications. So, your only choice is to have your phone ping every single time somebody enters something in a conversation, or, not to receive notifications at all.

  52. I have used Microsoft Teams twice now and I find it to be an excellent app. I like the smoothness and ease of use. I never struggle with it, video audio or otherwise, it’s so super easy to join a meeting and exit as well. I see and hear everyone excellently every time. So far u am pleased beyond measure. Thank you Microsoft Teams!!❤️

  53. It doesn’t work on my phone anymore, but it used to!! Every time I try to open the app, it makes me sign into my Microsoft account. Which then makes me put in a code on my outlook app. Once I’ve done that, it brings me back to the teams app just to tell me that my phone doesn’t support it in browser mode & I need to open the app, so I click the button. But newsflash, **I’m already on the app!** then it tells me there’s been an error & it goes back to the sign in page. I NEED THIS FOR MY BUSINESS

  54. It’s fine when it works, and it does good captions usually. But it malfunctions frequently and it’s nearly impossible to make an account without a paid business account attached, which I wish they’d say upfront instead of having an avenue for free accounts that just sends you in circles. I’ve tried in 2019 and 2024 and it’s exactly as garbage to try to sign up. When I’ve had a work account, I can sign in, but it still malfunctions constantly.

  55. Tony dice:

The company only cares about Apple (iPhone) and not Android (i.e.Samsung). The android version has so many errors and bugs. When going into menus gives errors. Opening up different links fail to load images, sometimes chats purely don’t load. All of my iPhone friends say their experience on Teams with the same WiFi network works flawlessly, and how bad of a phone Samsung is! This is all due to this App. I hate this app more than anything and I prey my company switches to something else.

  56. It never seems to work. Notifications don’t work, I don’t get new messages, I can’t lock certain channels or even access them. I’ve tried updating, un installing, and restarting. It will work for a while, and then I begin experiencing the same problems. It is worthless for staying connected at work.

  57. (5/30/24) Another quality Microsoft product. I don’t know what happened, but I can’t even use the app anymore. It won’t load the latest messages and it keeps trying to “refresh” or something. The screen just goes white with a circular progress bar every 3 seconds. Looks like there were some recent updates, no idea if that has anything to do with it. And before some intrepid Microsoft intern responds back asking me if I’ve checked for updates and installed them… yes, yes I have.

  58. After using Teams for several years, since the recent update, on my Android device, Every time I open it and am logged into work, it keeps opening a sign in page. I also have a personal Microsoft account so it’s automatically listing my home email. Whether I try to sign into it with work or personal credentials, it states it cannot sign me in right now. I can go back to the previous screen as I am logged into work, but it constantly jumps back to this log in screen. It’s very frustrating!

  59. Only works when I don’t really need or want it to. When I’m in the office and walking around away from my computer, it never works. When I’m on vacation, boom it’s blowing up my phone. It rarely sends messages from the app and when it does it doesn’t send them till almost 11:30 at night. To top it all off it doesn’t work correctly on data or wifi so it seems kind of useless if you ask me.

  60. Worked great until the April 12’th update. Now all it does is take up space on my phone. Literally every feature is either completely broken or partially broken. Even something as simple as replying to a message doesn’t work. You click reply, nothing happens. You try to react with a built in emoji, too bad, nothing happens at all. Microsoft has been breaking Teams and Office in general for the last two years. They need a complete rewrite at this point, the code can’t be saved.
