I’ve had this app for about 4 or 5 years now but I think it’s time I said how I feel about it. This app is nice but the problem is that most of my songs are out of order!!!! I tried using a playlist maker on my computer to make all the songs in order. I made the playlist in the .M3U format which Poweramp didn’t even read. I tried making a playlist on Poweramp but I didn’t feel like taking the time to sort out all the files in order just to get them just how they should be in order in the first place. I use Winamp on my computer and Winamp has been around since Windows XP. Winamp has no problem putting the songs in order as soon as you tell it to scan the folder(s). That’s pretty bad when a program for a computer is 10 times better than a app for a phone.
App is too confusing. I’m having problems when I first open the app, press play next (because I’d rather hearing something other than what I left off at), but then it says something about starting a queue and hitting play next, instead of using my entire collection as it was set to, just starts pulling tracks from the album of that first song I skipped. I’ve looked through many options. And, that’s the problem, whatever it is is too confusing. The queue and shuffle should not be this confusing.
Would give 5 stars, plays a lot of formats. My only problem and for me it’s kind of important. When you choose a playlist that you put together and play that playlist for some reason the app jumps off of the playlist and plays a random song and I have to hit skip to go back into the play list. It’s annoying because sometimes it happens multiple times.
I downloaded this to my Android Head Unit & it seems to run a separate equalizer that works on top of the unit’s built in Equalizer. This results in some distortion between the apps & resulting output. I think if you turned off 1 of the equalizers the result would be fine. Edit: I found an output setting for speakers that allowed me to switch off the output equalizer setting. My suspicion was correct, the sound improved greatly upon doing this. This app shines in file management. From 3 to 4 ⭐.
