Update: reduced another star for adding instruisive features that interrupt and slow down the learning. Update: with the latest update, the learners are immediately greeted with a full page ad prompting the users to buy the subscription. This is a great incentive to drive users to other apps with less aggressive advertisement. The biggest problem of Drops is the lack of easy feedback and community support. It’s far more lacking than Duolingo in this area. Good for beginners.
I took French in high school and college, but have become ‘rusty’ with no one around me who speaks the language. This is a great review for me. Yet for a beginner I would choose another course. Some of you ‘Word pictures’ are misleading as to translation, et al. Starting with food words is NOT the place to start! Counting, words to find things, travel etc. SHOULD come up 1st. They are better starts! Alors! Bon chance mes amies!
I have just installed this app. I used its free minutes to try it and learn new vocabularies. My first attempt was very successful and I really love the method used to teach vocabulary. In addition, I like the smoothness of the design and color choice and how the icons are well designed and used to demonstrate the word being learned. Thank you so much for this masterpiece.
Update: After using the free version of Drops for four months, I purchaesed the yearly subscription. I’m thisclose to purchasing the lifetime subscription. I really enjoy the lessons and improved images. What I don’t like is that if you try out an additional language, you can’t delete it. Please give us the option to edit our languages. I’ve been using Duolingo for a while now. Sought out an additional app to help me along. There were many recommendations for Drops. I’ve only had two lessons thus far and as of this writing, I’m loving it. Wanted to try the free version before upgrading. If upgrading means I can take lessons as often as I’d like as opposed to only once a day, I may be upgrading soon!
