It’s convenient for some things, but really it’s missing one of the most important features of the online portal – there’s no way to track billable hours in the app. Edit: someone was nice enough to respond that the quickbooks essentials subscription did have time keeping ability. I do have the essentials subscription, but time keeping is still not available in the mobile app. That was the point of my first review.
Been using this app for three and a half years and it works minimally well. But it often loses company information and I have to resync that takes forever. It has alot less ability than using the browser version. All in all I find myself using the browser when using mobile and it isn’t anywhere close to being optimized for mobile and it’s still easier to use. You’d think a company the size of intuit would have their act together and produce a workable app.
Snap Receipt option is atrocious. I use this app mainly for that purpose alone, and it’s extremely frustrating. The camera fails to focus 90% of the time. When it does focus, and I snap pics of a full page receipt, it’s little green box wiggles and captures only the bottom half of the receipt. It completely cuts off the vendor info so that it is unable to capture that data when processing the receipts. Update this feature and I’ll change my star rating.
It’s frustrating that QuickBooks needs 87 different apps. Seriously. Build ONE app for your service!! Also, there’s a syncing issue with swiping income/expense transactions. They reappears after being swiped away and then throw errors of swiped a second time. Forces user to manually refresh. Snap receipt seems to snap 2007 quality photos. Can’t read the prices half the time, so it fails to auto import the information.
I love quickbooks. But it has been 2 months that the app is not working properly, nothing can be sent, never showing all ur invoices/estimates etc. I am always working on the way and that was the main reason I love it the system, But now unable to use it. Leaving this review to see is all this issus can be solved, because I pay a lot of money to quickbooks in order to have a proper system. Also ordered a card reader months ago and never received it.
I’ve been asked to submit this survey after using the QuickBooks app. QuickBooks online and the app go hand in hand, but are not in sync. You can only do so much with the app. The app doesn’t function the same as the online version. Online you can enter a customer’s name and choose to view it by last name first or first name first, the app only allows it one way. So, if you enter the customers last name first, it begins all communications (emails) that way. Hello, Smith, John…
Have been using app in Android since 2017. Now it takes for ever to update customers information. Invoices stays in saving and does not move on to customer main screen. If I hit save more than once it repeats the invoice. Does not save signatures from the app It’s been a headache. Every update is the same. Already un installed and deleted data and cache
I like the app and QB but if I’m paying so much for quickbooks I don’t ever want to be spammed. It’s getting annoying. I understand they want to get the word out about their new products but the little tricks that they do when pressing “save and send” they will randomly change it to “fund invoice”.
the app tends to work fine, but you can not use a minus sign to add credits to invoices. I have to go through twelve steps on the internet to do this from my mobile device. There is a seven step process to go through just to print an invoice on the fly. if they had a one button print, a “fit to page” feature for invoices, and usage of the minus sign on the app. I’d give them 5 stars.
Very frustrating to use and intend to revert to previous mobile software. Support is weak and often times unable to help when on the road. Can’t make changes to software via mobile, just the desktop and QB wont do it for you. Kind of negates the mobile aspect. Not all features transfer between users on mobile and here doesn’t seem to be a fix. If you are solo, QB might be for you. Multiple users there are better options.
I just started using the app. The problem I am already experiencing right now is that every time I try to add a customer to an estimate I am creating, the screen turns black and goes back to the customer list every time. It even sometimes pops up a message saying the app keeps stopping then shuts it down on it’s own. I tried to uninstall the app then reinstalled it and still having issues with creating an estimate. Is there any troubleshooting tips you guys can provide for this issue?
This mobile version does about 1/8 of qbo and of that 1/2 of its functionality is buggy. Searching for an invoice does not search what’s in the invoice data fields, it only searches the invoice number and the total amount. That’s not helpful for me. I need to be able to search within data fields of all invoices (even more than a year old).
If you’ve used the desktop version you will be really disappointed. I used the desktop for 20+ years and switched. Not even close to the functionality of the desktop. Many things just aren’t there. Sales tax is the part I feel lacks, the non taxable sales tracking is atrocious, to the point of tracking and reporting that alone is really time consuming. Please QuickBooks, fix this! Your customers have been complaining about this problem for years!
There is only one thing worse than a free app that deluges you with ads…. A paid app that deluges you with ads. My QBO app is constantly reminding me that I “qualify” for instant payments… All I need to do is move my business to THEIR checking account or give them an EXTRA 1% of transactions. I cannot skip, decline, or remove this item from their “Todo list”. It is infuriating. Get this off my screen if I tell you I’m not interested! When that works, I’ll review again. Thanks
One thing about this app is that it consistently sucks. Specifically the receipt uploading portion. It takes so much longer to upload things than it actually should, especially images from your phone. Images are always blurry and it randomly crops off portions of the receipt taking much longer to upload since you must edit the image. Inefficient and consistently poorly engineered, especially from a large software development company.
I’ve had QuickBooks since early 2000s when I started my company they’ve always been reliable and everything seems to always fall into place the last few years they’ve improved with being able to invoice and get paid through the QuickBooks program instead of having a merchant service machine that you have to deal with. I would recommend QuickBooks to just about anybody. Sam Smith
I only use the app to take photos of my receipts. I use the PC for everything else. So this new I can only take 5 pics at a time thing is a pain. I often get batches of 20+ receipts at the end of a job. Total pain. Please revert. Also, it seems to not be talking to the camera anymore to focus. My larger receipts are always blurry, and I can’t get them to focus no matter what I try.
I use this app for two things other than the main money in money out tracking function. The reciept snap is useless. It crops in random spots and can not focus on the the reciept I have it in a photo booth! I’m getting black photos as it’s cropping the entire reciept out. You can not upload photos of the receipts at all it is completly broken. The mileage also tracks the way the crow flys, not the route mileage. So it drastically under estimates how far you’ve driven.. And I’m paying for this…
My CC details expired and I didn’t renew with my new CC details. This caused me to be locked out of my data. I inputted my new CC details and paid for the subscription via google play. My account would still not allow me to create or make changes to existing data. After spending 3 days back and forth with Google and Intuit and escalating the issue with both parties nothing has been done. I am now using different software. based on my experience don’t pay for this app through the play store.
My customers are telling me they get an error message when trying to make a payment which takes payments longer. The fees are very high per incoming payment, and my customers emails are constantly not sent and must re type every email address in system to get emails delivered… The app on my android most of the time does not match the information on my computer… I have a small business and this makes things very very difficult. But I’m lost for options to fix…
When this app works, it’s fantastic. It’s so much easier to use and faster than the browser version. That being said, I consistently encounter too many issues that make it unreliable for me. The app will often freeze or hang when saving invoices. Sometimes, my customers don’t load properly, so I can’t search for them. The most egregious failure, however, is when I’ve taken all the steps up to taking a payment, and instead of allowing me to swipe or enter card details, I arrive on a white screen.
Just started using Quickbooks Online thus year. So far so good. Great for my small business. Being able to bill paperless and accept online payments gives me a more updated professional look. Plus I love the ability to scan all my receipts in and it keeps track of everything. No more hand written invoices. Customers have been very receptive. One suggestion I’d like to see that many other apps have is the ability for customers to tip. I provide services and would definitely be a plus to have it.
It seems the app is completely disconnected from the online software. A while back, I noticed that I couldn’t login to Quickbooks online. It said my account didn’t exist (after using it for 3 years). After calling 4 times, they claimed they found a security issue and closed my account. After many more frustrating phone calls, my account was reopened, but the app did not recognize this change. The app still says my account doesn’t exist, yet I can log in on desktop. I’m beyond frustrated.
It loses my data. I can log in. It says it is my company. But once again I no longer have any customer data, invoices, or anything. Not sure what quicken plans to do to keep my business, but this is unacceptable. Last time I was able to uninstall the app, and reinstall the app, and then my data reappeared; however, that is beneath the reliability level I need.
Mileage tracking is horrible. In auto tracking mode, hit some traffic or a long wait at a light and your trip stops-starts multiple times. Even when you manually enter your trip, expect quickbooks’ calculations to be missing 30-50% of the actual distance. Called customer support support but they just want me to troubleshoot the issue with them. Sorry, but I’m running a business and don’t have time to route out bugs in your software. Although if you want to hire me as a tester, let’s talk.
I love this app. It’s super convenient. However, since the latest update I’m no longer able to see all of my invoices as I could before. Some of them won’t show up even searching under the specific client, but I can find them in QBO. Invoicing is what I mainly use the app for and because I’m not usually at my PC, the app helps me answer any questions clients have when they call. Hoping to get this issue resolved and back to how the app was before.
This app is horrible when entering expenses. Once you have entered all data and SAVED it, the screen still remains on the “new expenses”. When you hit the exit key you get a warning message saying if you exit all data will be lost. So you save again. Same thing happens. Soon you have 3 or 4 of the same expenses! This has been broken for many versions!
Until the update, on 3/21/22, I had very few issues with this app, now it makes me sign in every few minutes, doesn’t refresh data, and glitches out with half the features. I am beyond frustrated! I uninstalled and re-installed the app a few times and restarted my phone, but it didn’t solve the problems. HELP!! I use this app daily so to be having these issues is not going to work.
QB is mostly user friendly. I appreciste all of the tools provided; integration with all of my bank accounts. make it easy to create and send invoices and receive payments. My primary challenge is keeping on top of proper categorizing expenses and expenditures. For the most part, QB tries to make it easy, except it can backfire when things change. All in all, I think it will be excellent for most small businesses.
This app that I have used the last 4 years is no longer functioning. I rely on this app to run my business, and currently it flat out doesn’t work. When I try to adjust my invoices it won’t save and an error message pops up to call quickbooks. When I call quickbooks, they don’t because they say the don’t support the app. It is an endless frustrating loop and I am unable to run my business effectively. Someone reach out to me and fix this (developers).
I like the app, but for some reason it’s not tracking ‘My Business’ expenses correctly. On an Android phone, it’s showing exactly twice the profits it does on an iPhone..same account! I’d be happy to send someone screenshots, etc, to try and resolve. Very frustrating because it appears to be a very simple calculation…
Been using this app for several years and over the years the updates always takes away features that are used regularly. Latest update has made the app very slow and glitchy. Bring back the scroll bar in the customer list like the iPhone has and stop auto resetting back to the top of the customer list. Would be nice if I could send an invoice and it automatically give me the option to go to the next customer instead of having to exit andscroll to the next customer after each invoice is created.
I have been using this app for years it has been very useful until recently. It’s not syncing with regular QuickBooks online desktop version. All of my customers after the letter m are not available in the app but they are on the desktop version. They are incorrect combined tax rates which I cannot delete from the app. I have to change it for each invoice I create because it defaults to the wrong one. I have deleted them on the desktop version and everything looks good.
I have typed the same sales reciept at least 5 times and it says saved and no it definitely is not. I closed the tab, I closed the app, it keeps freezing and closing itself as I am typing. I am using a samsung chromebook plus. pleaaaase help I have a lot to catch up on for taxes and at this rate it will be next year before I get them done. Sincerely, frustrated business owner
Regularily deletes info randomly from past transactions. No way to get it back. Wheather it be payments received or individual items in an invoice, it will alter or delete the info that you put in. You will only find out when you customer calls. Not good accounting software. You have to go over and over old transactions to maintain correct info.
This is the worst app to ever had doesn’t allow you to put in multiple characters for descriptions and services the old one will allow you to put in all you wanted now you’re limited. It won’t let you change your address or other info without logging into a computer that’s why you buy the app so you don’t have to use a computer I called customer service and there’s nothing they can do. I will be canceling the service do to the on user friendly nature and many other issues
QuickBooks is the most haphazardly thrown together app that I have installed. The app randomly freezes and glitches on my Note 20 Ultra and on my iPhone 12. The other thing that bugs me is that you cannot access the same features on the mobile version that is present on the online version. I only use this app because I have to.
This is my second time installing the app, after trying to login in, it occurred to me why I uninstalled it the first time. I can’t login! It laughable that in 2022 dev’s can’t make apps to perform the simple task of logging in. And from some of the reviews ive read it seems as if the apps performance is hit or miss depending on the day. I need stability and reliability from apps that “help” me to manage my finances not add to my frustrations.
My second 1-star review in 5 minutes. I’ve tried to install multiple “QuickBooks” apps to attempt to access my small employer’s timesheets, and continued to fail. A message of, “Head on over to the web instead” isn’t helpful when your app fails; if I wanted to use the web on my phone, I wouldn’t have spent time trying to sort through your various “QuickBooks” apps, installing, trying, and uninstalling them when they fail. 4th try in several years; so done.
Snap Receipt Function in the app no longer works. Stopped working about a week ago, I figured it would correct itself. It didn’t. So I looked up the issue and went through the whole diagnostic that intuit provides which is to clear the cache, clear the app data from the app settings, and then lastly uninstall and then reinstall the app. None of those things worked so I’m continuing to not be able to document my business write offs which is incredibly frustrating. Hopefully they will address this
