  1. I like working with instawork. It gives me decent shifts at times that work with my schedules. I like that I have the option of seeing the business location and that it connects automatically with google maps (big help!!!). There are so many features I enjoy. However, it is a hassle all the processes to do and way the system is set up. And don’t get me started with the top pro bonus feature *eyeroll*. I recently started using the app and so far, it has some kinks. Overall, I’m satisfied with it

  2. This app is not very good to get quick gig work. They use GPS, but you still get gigs that are over 100 miles away. Plus, the few you do get in your area, are gone in seconds (not an exaggeration) unless you have booked more than 2 gigs. Which is impossible if you can’t even book one. Otherwise, the pay comes quick, and no fees. That is the only thing good I can say. Getting the gigs has been SUPER frustrating.

This is a great app that provides gigs for many trades of work if you need a job or just some extra income in your wallet. Only reason why I didn’t give it a 5 star is because I’ve had 2 shifts canceled last minute recently. Other than that I’m grateful for this amazing app. (Edit): lately the app freezes alot. Mainly when I want to send a message to support. Also location tracking is having issues therefore affecting my rating. I always have location tracking on for this app.

It’s a really well done and legitimate app! Definitely daily choices, I would complain there aren’t enough in actual Seattle, but I guess once prove yourself by working 3 in a row without cancelling or no show, THEN you get offered more and better shifts. So it says…. I just finished my first shift, so I dunno yet! You can also get more through recommendations and such. I just hope there are more shorter shifts. Almost everything is 8 or more. I’ll update if it changes. Overall, well done tho!

  5. Good luck on booking shifts. If you get an alert, you can immediately click in the job and find that all shifts have been booked in less than a second. So if you see an alert that is more than 15 seconds, you won’t get a shift booked. The platform itself is very basic. So basic that it is confusing at times trying to navigate.

  6. So far this is a great way to find a gig/part time job and even a temp to hire type position. It was slow the first day but after filling out everything I could in the app; open shifts started appearing. I was able to book 2 Saturdays and the whole process was simple and easy. A hard day’s work and I earned some much needed cash. I highly recommend this app to anyone looking to find some work without the interviews and waiting for a call back.

  7. This app has incredible potential a few kinks here and there need to be worked out and there definitely needs to be more supply for the demand..meaning more listings, preferably closer to some of the more rural areas. I plan to go canvas for a bit tomorrow in my county and a few surrounding counties I figure it’s a win win win situation 👍😁 All in all this is a great app and just what I have been looking for in lieu of traditional work.

  8. This app is easy to navigate & offers great shifts for great opportunities to the employee! So far so good👍. Don’t like all if the extra things they want you to do inside the app before you can start accepting shifts. Some of it is irrelevant bc it wants us to advertise. I think word of mouth is the best way so there’s no need to do all that extra inside the app.

  9. Instawork is very difficult to work with when you have an issue. There is no one that you can phone or even email when you have a question or discrepancy with respect to hours/shifts. Your only option is to send a message and than receive a response hours later from a bot. As a cashier/counter worker we have not received ANY of the tips that were paid to us via credit card transactions. I gave 2 stars simply because it is what it is when it comes to gig work.

It’s worked for picking up jobs every so often when I have some extra time I can put in. I’m sure being in a big city helps. One app glitch that gets annoying is it won’t let me into the app to just look at jobs unless my location is on, after I’ve signed up for a shift and the couple days beforethe shift. It’s necessary for the duration of the shift, but days before is annoying because it doesn’t do that to me otherwise.

  11. This is great for finding temporary work that could lead to actually getting a job / career! The app is easy to use, I recommend this app to those who are looking for work. All you have to do is add your work history, some personal information, a few assessments, and you’re ready for you to start booking shifts. If you actually work and avoid being late and calling off, you get to get higher badges that leads to better benefits such as; higher pay, better gigs, and many more!

  12. Okay app. Hard to navigate. Certain areas of the app needs work. It sent me two messages to consistently change my picture when I see filtered pictures all over the site. Then because of my area will not let me complete my w2 which means I cannot get any good job picks when they come up. Very fusturating. Don’t know if it’s worth it.

  13. Easy to use platform but has limits. Requiring so many recommendations from friends, family, co-workers and employers does provide a higher class workers, but limits a person’s ability to get to work fast. Some of the trainings and tests are buggy. Either the training loops endlessly or the tests don’t provide a location to put an answer for a couple categories; warehouse basics is a good example. There are tons of work which is a huge bonus but next none are graveyard shifts. Pay is amazing.

  14. Shaun dice:

Haven’t been in app for long. So far it seems promising. I have met several people who have nothing but good things to say about Instawork…. Update: This app is great. My only issue is thhe tracking.. My phone stays in my pocket while at work….. The tracking has gone out on my last 3 shifts…. I’ve done everything the help section said. Seems I’m still getting same result…. Soon the tracking is gonna be mandatory….. Hopefully I can get this issue fixed..

  15. Great opportunities but terrible customer service! I had an issue and it never got answered despite sending Multiple messages for an entire week to support to express I was having issues and couldn’t Get my shift covered despite doing all the steps to do so. The app would not work to transfer the shift. I got penalized and have STILL Not gotten a response!!!!!

  16. K. C. dice:

Horrible inteface! Not available everywhere! Finding information be harder than it needs to be. And finding gigs by location is just silly with the interface they use. Not very convenient. They don’tseem organized enough to have my personal information and accessto my money. I don’t really trust them. And they have no customer service number on top of everything else. I have yet to book a job!?!

  17. E VILLA dice:

Not a fan of the tracikng and location permissions required to use the app even when you are not on the clock or even working that day. On my day off, looking for potential work and had my location off to save battery life, the app said they needed my location just to look for work.. Very invasive on my private time. They have competitors In my market who do not ask for that level of information. Too dependent on mobile technology which isn’t always reliable, especially in certain locations.

  18. I love this app and have worked a good amount of shifts. It’s convenient and helps people make some income. I just don’t like how you automatically get disqualified from leveling up for the next month if you cancel a shift. I understand that they depend on workers to show but sometimes canceling is the only option like if someone gets really sick for example. They should at least look at history of gigs worked or something instead of automatically disqualifying for following month.

  19. It’s a good app and helps find you a good amount of different jobs. Also offers temp to hire opportunities and paid back up, and it’s been consistent and reliable and also has very good work environments to work for. I think it’s stands alone as one of the best gig / temp to hire job / gig application and employment helper. Also all the people who work at together at different locations can easily stay in contact thru the app, so it’s also got great communication and team work skills.

  20. R Max dice:

Great side hustle app for anyone in the service industry. You can find gigs for BOH, FOH, event set up, general labor, warehouse work, forklift drivers, etc. The app could improve : The quizes: they seem unprofessional & thrown 2gether w/out care to use proper terminology. The training: could be a lot more helpful & useful. *I have an older phone running on Android 4.4.2 & this app isn’t compatible w/my device. I have to use my tablet which makes it difficult to clock in/out.

  21. There paid back up system is flawed, and if you don’t know how to use it. You’ll get kicked off the app with a suspension and you won’t ever get that four hours pay. Their customer support is also one of the worst around, and it’s clear they just reply with conversations templates. This would be an amazing app otherwise, but unfortunately due to their just chat contact options that might get you a new person each time. It makes the app useless after a single slip up. Even if you did your work.

  22. I downloaded the app got everything set up only to be disappointed that there arnt any opportunities in my area that are close to me. They need to expand to places more and not just the big cities smaller towns could really use this option to. I know of alit of people that would utilize this for the extra cash option, including myself and some friends. I really hope they consider expanding asap.

  23. During the school year, I am asubstitute teacher. So I was looking for a summer income. Well, I found this one! Instawork is one of the jobs apps that actually gets you jobs! I was referred by a friend, and I have now, I have refered others! Being a college student. I am so busy with school, that a consistent work schedule is difficult for me. Choosing my jobs at my convinience, is the best part of this app.

  24. Great concept. I’ve looked at other states/locations where instawork is working and there’s endless work. Where I’m located (Phoenix AZ), there’s little to nothing that gets posted. You get the worst paying jobs and if you don’t permanently have the app open, you’ll never get anything. In conclusion, if you use it anywhere else besides Phoenix, it’s an awesome app

  25. slow to read and respond to customer service emails. they penalize with no warning and without verifying the action that is being penalized actually happened. There’s no way to talk to a person only through the app chat and email. The selection of shifts is great. just need better customer service response and a phone number to call if you get no response or if it’s a time sensitive issue .

  26. Would be nice if anyone would answer my messages in the app. Constant location tracking 90 minutes prior to shift start? Tracking drains my battery like crazy, and it’s no one’s business but my own where I am at an hour before shift start. Customer service is terrible. I contacted them with a question almost a week ago, STILL no answer. On ANYTHING. She on you Instawork. Your competitors are sounding better and better…

  27. I’ve worked one shift so far. The app is legit and works, my shift went well and I got paid. They require that you do GPS tracking and clock in via the app, and I had an issue where there was no cell service or available WiFi where I worked, so I got labeled a no show. I was able to resolve the issue, but they took a while getting back to me so I lost a shift I had signed up for.

  28. 5 weeks trying to fix a technical issue. They have my passport, my social security number, my resume, but for some reason my email holds me up. Even though it’s an outlook email and been in use for 7 years. If anything happens to my credit or bank accounts I know who to go after. Spent way too much time trying to fix THEIR issue. Save yourself the worry and frustration find another app.

  29. So far it’s functionality is impressive. I’ve got everything setup and booked my first gig. I was operating a front loader the day before. No phones are allowed not that I could find time to use a phone. I missed the window to verify my shift by 11 minutes and immediately contacted support but couldn’t get the shift or remove the blemish. The window to confirm opens 24 hours prior to shift and closes 16 hours prior so keep that in mind it’s important. Hope they create a way to erase mistakes.

  30. It’s beenf amazing. It’s a great way to get back into the game and network within the work force of your choice. Start here if your not sure what to do. If you want to try different things and most importantly at your pace. Instwork it’s easy to sign up , great for networking, flexible at your convenience and completely your choice. Where when and what is all up to you.

  31. Just completed my first shift last week Everything went smoothly. Interface is actually really easy to navigate and understand. My 2nd shift didn’t send me a notice and I missed the check in window. Maybe some good feedback would be to ease up on the punishment for missing a push notification that didn’t actually notify me. Still going to keep using the app so far. Would like some focus on tax being applied to wages before being paid if at all possible.

  32. This is app is great for small gigs. When you need extra income or bored from quarantine, you can rely on the app. The cons are the team takes a long time to reply on issues regarding time sheet, and most of the gigs are long distance. I’d recommend to gigs based on closed proximity. Because most are not willing to drive 60 miles for a $16.75/hr is an scenerio. But overal the gigs I’ve worked have been smooth and reliable

  33. The only reason I’m giving this otherwise convenient app that works 2 stars is because of their non-existent customer service. I showed up to a shift and the app wouldn’t open, so I couldn’t clock-in. Because I couldn’t clock in I lost all my upcoming shifts and my rating even though I was on time and worked the shift. The real problem now is there is no one to call for help and the messages I’ve received from “chatting” with them have led nowhere but to general answers and and frustrations!!

  34. For the most part, Instawork usually comes thru for me in terms of the consistency with which they post skill-specific gigs. I say “usually” because – over the past 2 weeks – in the 15-20 seconds that it takes to open and view the shift details after I receive the push notification, the shift is already fully booked. Every. Single. Time. Over the past 2 weeks. 15 SECONDS! Ive got a 4.91 rating and silver pro status, but I’m definitely no longer receiving priority access to shifts suddenly.

  35. The app’s functionality works quite well. However, I have one ongoing bug within my account. It keeps showing that I need to complete an ‘appeals’ training, as if my account has been deactivated or suspended. After contacting support, they say my account is active, and with no issues. Once they suggested to me that I uninstall/reinstall to see if that would eliminate the issue, I stopped caring about it. I feel that an Admin should be able to clear this issue, but it appears the onus is on me.

  36. I hate how it doesn’t notify me anymore about an upcoming event confirmation. So it gets canceled. I just checked my gigs and they’re all gone. It’s very frustrating when you were looking forward to working and getting that money, but end up getting canceled. Also live in the city, the app has access to my location, so I don’t understand why the app has to find me event server shifts 30-40 miles away. Literally I have only had 1 gig in the city and 2 others that I had booked, canceled.

  37. Hmmm…describe my experience….a complete waste of my time! It’s “bait and switch”, simple as that. I haven’t had even one gig through this app. The jobs mysteriously disappear when I click on them, which is even worse than not having any jobs post. You think you are about to get a really great gig and then…..poof….it disappears just before you can grab it. People do NOT waste your time on this app!

  38. Great app. To find local gigs! Setup was quick and painless/easy to navigate…this app let’s you start working gigs with the basic minimal details in your profile-giving you the option to be able to go back and add &/or complete the rest if the info in your profile as you go-increasing your options & wider variety/range of shifts, the more you complete. Genius! That’s what i dig- being able to start booking shifts right, rather than making me complete an insane checklist in order to work a shift

  39. I would give it five stars for concept, and yes, it really does pay well. However, the app itself is so badly designed and annoying to use. There are weird technical glitches, like the red ‘no internet’ warning that blinks on and off at the top; it’s just always there, getting in the way. Always. Or that chats with support staff just kind of disappear and aren’t archived with all the other chats. Or that it sends you dozens of redundant reminder texts but no push notifications. Etc. Etc.

  40. The algorithm is not at all useful. Within the split second that I’m given a notification that there’s jobs available and clicking the jobs, they’ve been booked. I’ve never even worked a gig (because they seem to be impossible to get) so I know I don’t have any bad reviews that would affect the algorithm. It’s frustrating to say the least…
