This came preloaded on an old phone. I never used it. I couldn’t delete it either and that’s really really annoying. I hate when the phones say “if you disable this app, it may cause your keep your phone from running properly.” I guess it would if I were trying to make a power point presentation. But then the paranoia comes and I don’t disable it and I just look at it taking up precious space on my phone. We should have a right to remove bloatware without guilt.
I love Google Slides. All of Google’s productivity apps are designed to put usability first. There’s nothing fancy about Slides; it’s just a simple, clean app with all the features you need and everything right where you’d expect it. I appreciate the Google Drive cloud integration too. Being able to access my work from any phone or computer in the world is awesome. Oddly enough; I mostly use Slides as a photo editor for social media. It’s surprisingly good at that; lots of customization options.
I was using this for a project and all the things I was using on the computer for it are not available. The Word Art option is gone. If you had Word Art on the slide before, all you can do is move it around. Cannot search for images, and images do not show size like it does on computer, which makes it difficult to select the size you need. Text boxes and size of text are difficult to change and adjust. Highlighting is out of the question. Good for presenting but not much else.
Fine if you want to reference a presentation or maybe present it, but editing from the app is awful. Can’t change background. Can’t delete a slide (press and hold does not work as they say). And changing fonts or layout is clunky at best. I’m a big fan of the desktop version and will continue to use it, but the app is NOT good for editing. I suppose that is due to trying to keep the size small, but dang, don’t lie to the user. C’mon, Google.
Fabulous for grade school students and beginners learning to create presentations! Of course, it has all of the protection that we have come to love with Docs. My only recommendation….since I have been so reliant on Google products for the past five years, I would like to see a greater variety of templates and transitions – to make upper grade presentations more exciting & more involved.
Always my go to for making a presentation for school and work. I would reccomend to anyone that gives slide presentations, because it is easy to use and gives lot of quality features to explore and implement into projects. I don’t have any complaints, I just take off one star for google because they definitely spy on you.
While the app functions are useful and the synchronization with ppt files appears to be decent (or as expected), the ease of some efatures within Google Slides coud and probably should be improved. For example, the adding of audio files or background music does not live up to the standards that seem to be raised year after year with Google for Education-designed apps. Additionally, manipulation of volume, ie. the sensitiviy of in-app volume control, lacks good sweep control.
Why must you oversimplify? I want to use all of the editing options available when creating slides. PowerPoint lets me. Why must companies dumb everything down like we’re idiots and the only thing we are capable of is putting a picture on and some basic text. I want creative control which is why I use PPT.
Good for what it can do currently, but should be better. Needs to include the features of Google Tasks (Why are there two apps?). Should handle image placement better. Should also handle grocery lists the way Google’s web app does – why is that another product?
This app is best to make presentations . This app is really helpful to us. I really like this app. But there’s one problem, when we go to change the background, it doesn’t change. There’s no option to Change the background . I recommended you to install this app. It’s safe ✨.Anyways, Thanks google team ❤.
If I could I would rate this app zero stars. I am on a tablet and when you go into o slide there is no toolbar. I tried going on google. I looked up how to make toolbar show on tablet. Nothing, do not get this app it is a waste of storage and time. Anybody is better off with powerpoint.
Extremely horrible. When the new slide already has text on it, you can’t change the text. You have to delete the textbox and insert your own text. Super annoying. Test the app to confirm. Good luck fixing this issue!
Pretty good presentation creator/editor. Would like some better controls to delete slides, it took me a sec to figure it out at first.
Using this app to control a presentation on a big screen with a Chromecast is really painful. I have to leave my finger on the presenting notes all the time to avoid them to scroll back to the beginning by themselves. The slides go dark often and they just stop loading while presenting. Very annoying and distracting. It would be great if it worked as it is much easier to move while presenting rather than being seated with a laptop where the experience is much better.
An excellent experience! Way more convenient than Microsoft PowerPoint mobile app. Does crash sometimes else remaining is good.
I’m here to say slide can get kind of annoying due to when you placing lines or clicking them it won’t let you because of other text boxes you need to fix that 🙁
What a marvel modern industry- insert video in slideshow still break your leg experience. How normal people now about management of access for video on Google drive in other to run link to you slide somewhere else? Programmers are really loosers.
The app is ok for looking at presentations but, you can’t edit documents at all. I got the app so that I could edit documents, so really bad.
‘Google Slides’ is a tool app to create, edit documents. But for me now, it is just a tool to open some documents, presentations that is not supported by my device. That’s all.
the application performs much worse on mobile than on pc compared to other similar Google applications, every time I try to open the app or a slide it crashes at launch, to the point I cant even reach my presentations from my phone
The android app is awful. Hangs up abruplty when using Bluetooth keyboard (no other app does so – so it’s not the keyboard or any other thing), has very limited features – what’s the point of having a productivity app with less features. Please improve. The web version is amazing. So the only option is to access the web version in the tab.
Neber used it, unable to remove it. It’s a waste of space on my phone! Using my space without my permision. Not able to remove, who knows what its doing.
The app is overall quite good, however it is a major downside of all Google Office programs that they only allow to download files in .pdf format on mobile devices. It is especially inconvenient with slides, as slideshows are often required in MS Power Point or similar software compatible formats.
Great app and I’m just a 13 year old so I just go on here to make funny slides or school projects and this is a great app to do it on.
It’s fun to make stories with pictures and shapes and all kinds of things. It’s great as flash cards online too. There’s so many things to tinker with
It’s a good app for making presentations, slides for students.it have a few problems that I wish in new updates it improves and become more easily for using. I’m
Keep receiving these unsolicited sexually suggestive notifications through this app. Not interested in the nude photos or hookups. I’ve blocked, removed, and reported the matter on each occurrence yet I still receive these unsolicited sexually suggestive notification in my Google drive. I don’t appreciate those types of Google slide notifications showing up in my Google drive and it needs to get fixed. Update: after posting this message, received a vulgar, sexual Spam Gmail msg. SMH, really?
will not allow me to open or work on any slides. Shuts down immediately. I tried uninstalling, reinstalling, restarting, and troubleshooting. very disappointed.
The controls are treacherous. I’d prefer it to be more like the computer version of slides. I don’t even think you can rearrange the order of images/texts.
This app is good on pc but on phones some features are gone, you can’t even add animations here but only on pc. That’s leaving presentations to long boring without it, please do better.
I hate this app, FIRST you need a laptop to edit some text. It’s not working in cellphone, only in laptop. Its not applicable on any kind of emergencies. This app making me stress.
One thing I said constantly to myself while on the mobile sit is “I hate google”. Do I even need to explain why? I spent 5 minutes trying to share my project, but because my browser isn’t supported, it would just pop up an error. So what did I do? Download the app. And what do I have to say about the app? It’s garbage. Since the account I was using is administrated, I just can’t access the files, so that’s fun.
I am not be able to add images using mobile google slides . There , option is showing but when in am touching it to add any picture . Then , the picture Is not added And it is back automatically.
It doesnt have the option to add vedio and Animation effect , if u want to replace powerpoint then these options are very important. Its light easy to use but without basic functionality people are not going to use it instead of Powerpoint.
It’s simple and easy but really lacks basic features!! For example: why can I add animations on the web version of google slides but not on the app? Why can’t I ctr c and ctr v the images I want to add? Why the hell can’t I drag and drop from my pinned files on chromebook? As a student and a google cloud subscriber, I need things to be properly integrated between my google pixel, chrome book and everything else. Please get this fixed, google.
When using the app with Talkback screen reader and physical keyboard it’s hard to edit slide’s body part on a slide is selected, screen reader doesn’t read out nor letters, words or lines when trying to move around with keyboard arrows or CTRL+ up/down arrows. Due to this, if I have misspelled a word, I have to delete the slide and write it from scrach, because I can’t navigate between letters and words without Talkback guiding me.
It’s a cake walk until you’ve a group project to work on. For an app that is essentially made for collaboration, the way the website and app act up when multiple users access a file is really bothersome. Imagine having a close deadline and both your google docs and slides literally freeze at the same time and take minutes to just load and reload. Honestly, I fancy google slides as a very convenient app except for this deficiency of complying with multiple users at once which takes away 2 stars.
In the mobile version, they used to let you simply tap through the slides like you’re clicking a button. But in the newest version, you have to slide your finger to the next slide. It’s just so painful and somewhat frustrating when Google does something stupid to these apps, JUST LIKE YOUTUBE! GOOGLE, FIX THIS!
I’m using on my tablet and so I work on my Tab a lot now that it is so much more portable than a laptop and so I try to use Slides on it and IT IS SO LIMITED!!! I tried to use the transparent custom colour and it doesn’t work. the option is not even there and everything else is so limited. at the end used it on the web browser instead. what’s the point of the App then if i still need to go back to the browser? come on Google. srsly?
The only problem I have with this app is that it doesn’t have the same features it does on a desktop when I use my android tablet. 1) No ruler guides (I cant move the spacing of the bullet points from the sentences). 2) Can’t edit Tables. Like I cant edit the borders on each side of a cell Please add those features. They might be irrelevant but some of us need those features for the work we do.
