  1. Fox Sports is dialed in……I enjoy their college basketball coverage the most, but lately I have been looking in on the NFL portion of the app becuase of the Detroit Lions. The commentators are good and I have enjoyed making my picks for the NFL and NBA. There is enough in the app to keep me busy and interested. I admit that before this year I didn’t really tune in except for last year for the college football coverage and the more favorable support of Michigan State on its way to 11-2.

  2. Terrible app. Incredibly buggy – if you’re behind at all (watching a game that already started, for example) your only options are “Jump to Live” or “Restart.” That’s right. You can’t go back. You can’t fast forward. And if the stream glitches, like it did for me, it might just glitch out of full screen mode and – extraordinarily inconveniently – show the final score for the game you’re still in the middle of watching. Awful app. 0/5 stars if I could. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else.

The experience of watching the World Cup on this app is hot garbage. You have to click through way too many menus to find the replays, and there is no way to hide scores. Why is it so hard for a sports app to add a hide scores setting? Also, the home screen is too busy with way too much content and way too many cards. I’m sick of “modern” app design it’s not user-friendly at all.

  4. Ed Tauch dice:

Horrid. Horrid. Horrid app. No matter where I use this thing it consistently crashes every 10 to 15 minutes. Not only that, when you quickly try to relaunch what you were watching, it sneakily makes the live game turn to a restart choice (and in a hurry you won’t notice, youll just quickly hit play) which is confusing when it’s starting over but you can’t tell and finally realize only to go back and have to search for the live option. Again this is every 15 minutes. Terrible experience.

  5. Terrible, if you don’t get to your remote fast enough it will automatically change the channel on you to something that it chooses as more important. Your only option is to restart or watch live, so if you’re watching a game a little behind the real-time you have to jump to live or restart, so frustrating!! On a restart you can’t fast forward so you have to watch the whole thing again and then hope it doesn’t do it again……

  6. Frankly, a not good experience. App is buggy as can be. There are times, no matter how much I press “WATCH NOW”, that the video feed will no appear. Just the page it belongs on. Other times, the video appears but the cast button remains hidden despite being on wifi and everything working. I have to consistently close out the app to get it to work again. It’s a frustrating experience. I just want to watch the World Cup. I expect better.

  7. This app is largely unusable. Getting so many different error messages on my tablet. Just refusing to play. Watching on my phone on this app & it keeps recorrecting to portrait mode out of landscape every ten seconds of switching it while my phone is sideways. So many bugs. Just want to watch the flippin World Cup… I keep getting an error saying my provider doesn’t cover this as well. I pay almost the max amount for xfinity, so I should not be seeing this message. So many bugs and rarely works

  8. App uses its own embedded video player. So no instant replays, no letting it buffer, and it cannot be used by Android’s picture in picture video player. App frequently glitches, and causes the full screen to disable itself repeatedly until the app is restarted. At least I can watch most of the world cup games with the help of a paid cable subscription…

  9. Sign-in doesn’t work, I am trying to sign in with my Dish credentials, and yes I have access to Fox through the upgraded sport package. However, it just skips the credentials page and I can’t actually log in with my Dish information. It is super frustrating that this is something that is advertised and is being paid for, but I can’t access it.

  10. Unexplainable bugs. Sometimes streams work on one device but not others, and the error messages are unhelpful (eg “an error occurred”). And the video doesn’t stay fullscreen, it just goes back to tiny preview automatically on my modern phone (Pixel 6 Pro), making it a very unpleasant experience to watch, and sometimes impossible to watch. I also wish it had a scrubber to view replays and go back live like other modern video apps (Youtube, Netflix, etc).

  11. It would be neat if the app actually complied with the notification settings. Set it to “mute all notifications for 24 hours”, two hours later it sounds and tells me to catch Fox’s 4:30pm NFL game. Hey, guess what, now you’re getting your notification permission revoked on a system-level, because you can’t play well with others. Tsk tsk.

  12. This app is worse than useless. I can’t watch any World Cup games; it says there’s an error and I need to contact my cable provider but magically, there’s no issue with my provider when I use my actual computer to stream. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times and restarted my phone over and over with no change. You’re better off asking a friend to relay the broadcast to you over a tin can and string.

  13. Mike Rego dice:

Will someone for the love of all that is holy fix this app?? I’ve been using this app on my phone and Roku tv, to watch the world cup of course, and every game is interrupted at minimum two times to tell me that they have either lost my location and cannot play the game, or that my trial has expired, when I am logged in with my TV provider. Sometimes it gets to as many as four or five times a game that I have to exit the app or restart my device in order to continue watching. Far too buggy

  14. The coverage of the World Cup is garbage. There is no designated menu for replays. The only way to find the replay for the first match is to go through several menus. But in doing that, you see the score thus defeating the purpose of watching the replay. Users need to be able to watch replay (of any sport) without having to see the score. That’s how it is on ESPN and NBC

  15. Kevin C dice:

Full screen live events experience is terrible. Near the end of games it constantly switches to portrait mode and there is no setting to prevent this. Most people want to watch a sport through the end and in full screen and this app doesn’t seem to allow that.

  16. Good interface, but poor streaming quality. This app on my various Google TV devices always end up with choppy/stuttering video. It’s been doing this for years, so I assume the developers have no real interest to fix this issue. I’ve read it’s an issue for many people as well.

  17. Adam dice:

Don’t know how you invest so much into licensing for sports content and make an app so bad. Using heavily during world cup but even other times. Stuff like if I rewind 10 seconds during middle of a game, it kicks of full set of commercials. If only that, ok. However, that is 1 example of many I could provide.

  18. Solid app. Very few glitches, if any. Active, constantly updated, user-friendly interface with simple controls and easy access to scores, betting info. & links to watch events that are broadcast on the network. Personalization & notifications for favorite teams, etc. also makes for a more user friendly experience.

  19. Full of bugs and an absolute headache to use. It consistently crashes on my phone (Galaxy S9) giving me error codes. It takes me restarting the app sometimes up to 5x’s to get it to actually work. It also suffers from this wierd bug of automatically snapping the screen from landscape to portrait over and over during games which causes me to restart the app to fix it. I know its not my phone since none of my other video apps have any of these issues. Fine when it works but a headache till then…

  20. You can’t watch live games for free and an app can always be better. So I give them a 3. I use it for checking the box score, stats and bios. It’s usually good for that. On occasion they just leave a player completely out of the box score which is weird. You gotta kinda cross check it with another app. Otherwise I like it. Just short of a 4 because they forget players stats like they didn’t even play in the game.

  21. The worst app when it comes to the notifications! Hands down!! I installed the app to get updated notifications on a couple matches I picked and set as “following” on the app itself and during three days, the app popped more than 20 notifications for almost all sport events the service covers (imagine that, lots of notifications)! but on the favorited matches I chose, there were no notifications at all. This is crazy and all it means is, it’s just designed to add more subscribers only.

  22. Crashes every time on three different Android devices even after reinstall, since 9/17. May be since 9/13/22 version since I didn’t use it in a while. Help desk wasn’t helpful. Took me through script of steps culminating in doing a factory reset. Because both of my Android 7 tablets have the same problem, a reset shouldn’t help. I suspect new version of app is not compatible with Android 7. Help desk said they have no way to escalate problem.

  23. This is genuinely the worst streaming app I have ever used. It either grays out the chromecast option, or tells me cable package doesn’t include this channel, which it does. The only solution is to uninstall and reinstall, which i had to do multiple times a day during The World Cup. And then worst of all, the app crashed during the World Cup trophy ceremony and I missed Messi’s crowning achievement. If you can’t support something, don’t buy exclusive rights to it. Good image quality tho.

  24. A W dice:

This app sucks to the fullest extent of the word.. It’s really unfortunate that none of these apps actually allow for a seamless sports viewing experience. No matter whether the phone is in “auto-rotate” or “auto-rotate off” mode, I cannot view in full screen mode. It always switches back. I guess I’ll go hit myself in the head repeatedly with a hammer because that would be more pleasureable than ever using this app again.

  25. Major bugs with the app when trying to watch the games. It glitches and won’t allow me to sign in to my provider. It often says “playback failed” and won’t show the games. it has also told me a game has ended even though it is only a few minutes into the 2nd half. If the bugs would get fixed it would be way better because when it decides to work it is awesome.

  26. This app is a MAJOR step backwards from the FS Go app. FS Go was by far the best sports streaming platform out there, clearly superior to competition (NBC, ESPN, TNT, B/R) due to the extra features and high quality. This app takes away the best features like ability to jump forwards or backwards by 10 seconds, and ability to watch a replay spoiler- free. Why would you actively take away the most useful features? On top of that now I’m getting “playback failed” when trying to stream a replay.

  27. They have made everything worse since switching from the Fox Sports Go app. You can’t cast to TV, FF/RW through shows you restarted from the beginning, the video clips always get an error and won’t let me watch, and the live sports news shows that I watch often don’t even appear in the TV show listings. I’ve turned to watching ESPN and the NBA app because this app sucks so much. Also, i don’t care that much about the World Cup. why does it have to fill up everything?

  28. The app works fine until you try to watch it on full screen or cast it to a TV. Literally every single time I hit the fullscreen or cast button, it says “Uh oh, looks like we’re having a problem” It makes the app useless because no one wants to watch football on a small portion of a tiny screen. This app is garbage, just like most of the other reviews say…

  29. This is the second consecutive week that this has been in complete failure mode. App doesn’t ever get past the loading screen. The few times I can finally make it to a live game, half of the screen is covered with a semi-transparent overlay. I’m on a Note8 so I know I’m not on a “newer device” but still… Signing in through my provider, AT&T, often returns an error followed by the app crashing. The real bummer is when an empire controls viewing abilities and can’t create a viewing solution 🤨

  30. It is truly mind boggling to me that this app has no obvious way to search for particular sports or events. This wouldn’t be as much of a problem if the pick my teams section actually included all sports and teams. I’m trying to watch Formula E, a racing series, but there is no way to add it or any of the teams to profile. Truly asinine. Also the chromecast streaming is buggy and awful. The app frequently disconnects from the chromecast.

  31. Fox Sports was one of my favorite apps. I could watch replays of some of my favorite shows during my lunch break, like first things first and undisputed. Now you need two apps to even find content, then when you do find it you only get clips. Then I saw the podcast on the fox sports app only to find that the episodes are 3 months behind. I’ll just DVR the shows and delete both apps complete waste of space.

  32. Using this app to watch the Women’s World Cup while at work. When the app works it’s great but I keep having to uninstall and reinstall every time I want to use the app otherwise it tells me that “playback failed.” An irritating issue that I hope is resolved soon. Until then, if you are also experiencing difficulties with playback, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

  33. For the purpose of actually watching anything on this app, you’re better off finding a stream online. It takes forever to actually load. Any time you switch apps, the video breaks and you need to back out to the main menu and hope it decides to load again. Sometimes it will but when it’s a critical moment in the game, it probably won’t. Actually selecting the game you want to watch won’t work sometimes. Terrible app. I watch the streams online more often than get this piece of trash to work.

  34. The no spoilers mode is not as comprehensive as it should be. The app showed me only one match from the first day of the world cup (today is quarterfinals), I went over to the schedule to try and watch the US match, and it showed the score plain as day, defeating the point of no spoilers. Also, the fact that this app doesn’t have Chromecast support, but Fox Sports Go does, is pretty inexcusable.

  35. One of the worst streaming apps available. Logins will say they’ve timed out or have been attempted too many times, when they work in other streaming apps. The lag and jitter is so bad sometimes that I just give up entirely when I am able to watch. I don’t know enough technical/programming stuff to say why, or to feel comfortable saying it would be an easy fix, but every other top tier content provider (from sports to movies to TV shows) seems to have an exponentially better platform.

  36. This is a good app. I need it for scores, but I have come to appreciate the other tabs too for social media, odds, and stories. My one complaint is that I wish it opened up to the scores tab by default, rather than the stories. I also don’t care for the shuffling effect of the story covers when the app launches, which kind of messes with my eyes.

  37. The app crashes frequently when trying to watch any content. My tablet is set to auto-rotate the screen, but the app seems to always get stuck in portrait mode. The Fox Sports Go app had worked great for years. Being forced to switch to this app to watch content seems like a step backwards and is really frustrating.

  38. On installation the app does nothing but crash and refuses to let me log in with my provider. It is completely useless until you force quit, clear the cache, restart your device and then repeat that process until it finally works. Yes, I was offered the help line, but I don’t think I did anything differently than they would have told me to do. App needs fixing so people don’t need to jump through a thousand hoops on install. Once you get it working, it mostly runs fine until it randomly crashes.

  39. Fix your app! Especially on Xbox! Multiple times, the app will cease up and then restart what I am watching. I was watching SmackDown, I started late, so I restarted the episode and watched from the beginning. Maybe, 20 minutes in, the video stalls and kicks me out to the home page. And when the app resets to the home page, the episode is finishing and ruined the match! Now, I don’t even want to watch what I started.

  40. This app is pointless and useless. Since one of the FIFA Women’s World Cup game is on FS1, I had to download this app in order to watch it. The worst part is that you cannot cast this to Chromecast because there is no such option available. The previous app, Fox Sports Go, allowed me to connect to a Chromecast device. But streaming FS1 isn’t available any more. What good is having all these apps that don’t let you cast to Chromecast? Worthless. Pointless. Useless.
