Editing my review. When signing up, there is some kind of periodic failure in syncing the confirmation text with the app front end. Finally decided to start working on 12th try. Was able to then log in. Only 3 stars because there is so much advertising, it is difficult to navigate. Eventually found the free option to freeze credit.

  2. Ever since I resigned up for experian with the membership, I’ve had nothing but issues. The app doesn’t work at all always some sort of “technical difficulties,” and neither does the website with the same error. What’s the point of paying almost $30 for something I can not use? I want to cancel, but I literally can’t even log in to do that.

  3. Keith R dice:

Cluttered home screen focused on paid services while free, essential Freeze/Thaw are hidden where you wouldn’t think to look. But it is there (in Support menu option), and at least the app works with my web login unlike the other two. App loses a star because it unceremoniously logged me out while I was entering feedback in the app that it asked me for.

  4. Tried to confirm my cell number 3 times. All 3 times it told me I’m all set. Then app tells me I need to follow the link still. The one I already followed. Uninstalling. Useless. *Edit I was unable to complete the registration process so I can’t use the contact section. If it’s this difficult to sign up I’ll pass on the app altogether. Buggy before I even use it.

  5. great app. I use for financial protection. And credit Monitoring. Keeps you alert to any changes in all 3 credit reporting agency. The only set back to the app. You have to go to the other two agency’s to do any corrections. Wish all three would meet in middle for total coverage. like I said it monitors them. Great benefits with credit offers and coverage on insurance. Options to lock and freeze your credit. And insurance to protect you if your credit is compromised. Thank experian.

  6. This review is more about this bureau then it is about the app. So first off the way they calculate your credit score is terrible. The intent is to make sure you remain in bad standing with your credit score. It’s nearly impossible to up your credit score. Not only that they do not give any proper advice. They also do not give good credit line suggestions. It’s all paid suggestions. This agency is entirely bad all around.

  7. I can NOT understate my frustration with this app – Installed, created my account and logged in. To complete my registration it wants more information. I after providing what it wants to complete my registration, I’m told the process failed for “Some Reason”. Gives a help number, but the automated system only offers basic help like changing a password. Won’t transfer me to anyone who can explain “Some Reason” unless I ask the right question – a question the app fails to provide.

  8. So, I cannot connect with the app with my vpn turned on? I also cannot change the credit card I have on file. It just tells me that I need to enter a 2 digit month and 4 digit year and will not let me proceed, EVEN THOUGH I DID!!! Also, your phone system is a joke. Fix your issues. I ended up using my pc to connect with your website. The phone number for experian is useless and the app does not work well even after update, cleared cache, force stop, and phone reboot.

  9. This is the hardest app to update your real credit score. On the app, after paying off credit cards, lowering balances under 30%, making sure my score should be no less than 700. It still has me at 642. When I refinanced my car with my credit union, my experian score shows 718 on their end! I knew I was on the right track. Even now, the app won’t update. Just keep bettering your credit activities. Credit is a privilege! Be a good risk by paying your bills on time with lower balances.

  10. Their app is good in some ways, until you need to password reset, then it’s junk. System never sends a code. This service is fairly pricey, so my expectation is the password reset works. When it did work, they seemed to transition into a credit card & insurance sales broker. This should be a feature I can turn off. If I want a constant bombardment of ads…I can request my own quotes. Get your act together experian.

  11. I made an account today, and initially I could log in and traverse my account just fine, but now, I can’t log in at all even with all my info correct. The app and website both display that they are having technical difficulties when I try to log in. Sometimes it prompts me to call a phone number instead, which is just stupid.

  12. Have ALL notifications checkmarked off in app. Every day since install, get at least one unhelpful, irrelevant notification about whatever experian seems to think might interest me. Don’t claim that you give “more control” of notif to customers if you insist on ignoring their choices. Deleting. Resp to experian rep: There’s nothing to help with. I know how apps and notifications work. This isn’t user error, it’s a choice experian has made for their app behavior: Advertise something every day.

  13. has been a very useful tool to keep strict eye on my credit. you can put safe measures in place at no cost and they will send to all the credit bureaus that they must call you first before any type of credit can be authorized. ive always gotten a verification call so it’s legit. free trial for premium was nice. ended up subscribing a few months as they help remove your info from these data mining sites and the dark web. given it a shot, either like it or don’t 😉

  14. They are not good when it comes to dispute something that’s not accurate on my report I disputed the same thing twice and I even tried to upload proof about the information that was inaccurate but experian wouldn’t even let me upload it. I am about to just uninstall it, experian is not worth having for credit and my credit score went from 728 to 607, it drop dramatically for no reason at all

  15. There is a very short list of banks they can connect to and if your isn’t 1 of them the app is of no use for anything credit related. Can’t consolidate anything. Can’t provide your bills you make payments on. Basically anything you pay using a debt card or bank account that is a bank they didn’t approve means they can’t use the info to provide you with A credit score. Don’t waste your time. Their are better apps that actually use alot more banks for a much more accurate credit score. 1-10.=-1

  16. I paid for the highest membership available so I could cancel my subscriptions that I may have forgotten about, but sadly, they don’t have my bank in their system…which means I had to search for subscriptions manually, which completely defeats the purpose of “searching for forgotten subscriptions” which was advertised, and the entire purpose of why I downloaded the app and paid for a subscription. I changed my subscription to the free monthly subscription, but am unable to cancel this account

  17. I like and dont like, so this is a descent app. It helped me remove some fraudulent charges. Now the bad, it doesn’t boost my credit line accounts always and doesn’t keep up with them always up to date. The main thing is my bank accounts doesn’t like this app connected to it, which is very suss!

  18. Hi there! I don’t like the app. Mainly, there’s NOWHERE to set up notifications on my phone of getting paid in the Digital checking account. Not an email, a text alert OR a push notification. I use my account to pay some of my utilities so I can boost my credit score, and I really like everything else about my plan, but literally ZERO push or texts? Come on, you can do better than that. I’m VERY tech savvy and have looked everywhere in both the website and the app and there’s no such settings.

  19. K E dice:

Constantly gives me the same alerts day after day “your credit score went up”…then I check and it didn’t. Also, clearly, experian is more focused on selling their consumer facing services more than giving an honest and accurate credit score. They really want your bank account data so they can sell it and make money, THEN they will give you a higher credit score as a reward for that.

  20. Daily fake alerts and notifications. “Your credit score has improved!” “Your credit score is the highest it has been since you joined Experian! Open the app to find out more!” I see that more than once a week, and the score hasn’t changed in weeks. Why are you clickbaiting me? Let me view historical scores on a graph that I can interact with. There’s a graph, but clicking on points does nothing. No, I won’t contact support. It’s a flaw in your app, not my account. Do better. It’s really annoying
