  1. Ok for the most part. Having problems trying to zoom in on map as it wants to automatically zoom out all the time. So you can’t really do anything with it. I found the list to be more helpful than the map. Also would be nice if there was option to filter coin press machines on map instead of having to search coin press machines all the time…have everything else just need to add that.

Overall more useful than not, just got done with a vacation where it was useful for placing orders in advance for food, and doing mobile checkout in stores. It’s also nice for viewing wait times and nearby stuff, etc. The app is clunky though, and it would often crash for no reason. It can be hard to find certain menus, like purchasing Genie+ for a day. Making the app more streamlined would make a huge difference.

  3. It does some really nice things, but had some extremely frustrating bugs. Most annoying was the maps constantly zooming out immediately after you clicked on anything. If I wanted to look at two points of interest close to each other, it was a race to beat the zoom out that I rarely one. The other one was my credit card input screen never loading for the restaurant order that made it impossible to use that function.

  4. It works but it is optimized in a Fisher-Price sort of way. I would love for it to be more robust, easier to filter All sorts of displays like plans for just restaurants or parks or rides, and I would also love for it to cash more data locally where possible. Hopefully virtual queuing is a lot easier with this app, I will be experimenting with that later this week.

  5. Most of app ok. Photos won’t load. Constantly get error message to Close app, Wait, or Provide feedback. Photo pass is an additional cost to entrance of parks. There shouldn’t be this many problems trying to retrieve the photos. Taking time out of visit to take photos and can’t get them. I’ve deleted and downloaded app to try to correct and doesn’t make a difference.

  6. Trash app. Not user friendly and took me a lot of trial and error to learn how to navigate. Zooms out automatically pretty much every time i try to zoom in to find restaurants in my immediate area. Automatically shuts down at times. Froze up on me when i was trying to use the app to navigate to a ride I’ve never been on and was in a virtual queue for. With the money they get from the guests every year you’d think they’d be able to put together a decent app. Maybe try cutting the ceos pay.

  7. Incredible frustrating and buggy app. The in park navigation and map are completely useless for anything besides checking wait times. Just use Google maps. They work much better. The resort app crashed constantly and the restaurant app didn’t allow ordering and only displays the menu. I can’t believe Disney allows themselves to be represented by this awful, shoddy, poorly designed app.

  8. THIS APP IS TRASH! I am constantly fighting with this app when I’m at the park try todo simple things. The parks are already so busy that getting a good signal is impossible. When you are able to get it to work and pull up the maps, the maps dont show wait times, or map it self, etc. Another stupid thing thats new is the lighting Lane, which Is point less! I rode all rides and never did the lighting lanes. Just get there early. Universal studios app is a great example of a perfect app.

  9. Updating to 5 stars as they released an update on 10/11/22 that resolved this issue. Thank you for listening and making the update. This app just doesn’t function anymore. I have been to the parks six times in the last two years and now I can’t even see my park reservations via Future Plans. I called Customer Service and they were off no help. They told me to uninstall/reinstall which did not resolve the issue and the only other solution they offered was to get a new phone. Very disappointed.

  10. It is not user friendly. I’ve been trying to navigate it and understand what needs to be done for our vacation, but there are no clear instructions. Have to reach out for help. But I do like it because it’s Disney. UPDATE: The more I’ve played around with the app the more I learn and like it. It is a very informative app and if you have to chat with someone for “help” they are very friendly, helpful, and fixed my problem quickly. I’m updating my review to reflect these good experiences.

  11. Constantly restarting or shutting itself down, which makes anything to do difficult. And if you’re able to get it in, the app is weird for now making AP pass reservations to an internet link instead of doing it on the app. The only decent thing are the photopass (when you compare to SeaWorld and universal at least Disney’s has an easier option to use than those options but not by much) and dining reservations, but then the Genie+ just doesn’t give good recommendations for planning out the day

  12. More options than most realize. I’ve considered offering up improvements, only to find they’re already there, Guests are just unaware of the options. There is some challenge in learning the app and it’s capabilities, but the more you use it, the more features you’ll find you were looking for (IE travel routes). It may not be the most accurate, however trying to get directions for busses from a Custodial or Entertainment Cast Member is not the best idea either, that’s not their area of expertise.

The app normally works just fine, but I just got the MagicBand+, and every time I try to pair it using Bluetooth, the app crashes. I’ve never been able to get past the pairing screen. Disappointed in not being able to use the full functionality of this new MagicBand. 08/05 Edit: I am familiar with the process of pairing the MagicBand via Bluetooth, seeing as I was able to pair it using my iPad, however, when I try using my Android phone, the app crashes every single time.

  14. Jeff T. dice:

Everything is done through the app….but it is not completely intuitive and basic information and functionality is missing. We were told that Magicband discounts were available if staying at a Disney Resort and ordered through the app. That’s true but you can’t do that in the app until you check-in (also in the app). Same with reassigning members of your party to different rooms, can’t do it. Disney used to set the standards for guest experience, but not so much anymore.

  15. It was much better before the upgrade. Things are awkward to find and sluggish now. Update: wow .. somehow the app has gotten even worse!! It crashes randomly, the door-open button for Resort stays doesn’t work, after a Genie+ is scanned it doesnt refresh for ages, the filters suck, the maps do crazy things without you doing anything. This is a hot hot mess of an app … as central as they have made it to the experience, Disney needs to work on getting this app right! Disappointing!!

  16. While I think this app has its usefulness, I also have a lot of problems with it. For example: I usually have multiple technical issues. Sometimes these issues resolve by themselves, and other times I have to contact Disney for help. I think if Disney is going to require you to be on their app (for litterally everything!) then they need to spend some serious time and money to ensure it functions properly.

  17. It is a complex app and a little difficult to figure out how to navigate. And I have written code and built phone apps before. HOWEVER, I was pleasantly surprised that when I called for help the live agent was patient, knowledgeable, well spoken, very helpful. Multiple calls too!! So I think it is a wonderful tool to enhance one’s trip to the Disney parks!! Just may take asking for some tutoring lol

  18. I’d give it zero stars if I could. It is far too bloated to be useful, never have I not had to wait for a loading screen to delay me between steps. And half the time you need to screen shot your “confirmed” reservations because when you get to the park they have vanished from the system. Hire some programmers Di$ney and do it right next time. Their reply was that my phone is too old/slow. It doesn’t work any better on my friends new phones FWIW. Oh, and that’s one of the oldest saws in coding

  19. While I think the app is very useful and will definitely help on my trip, it is a bit on the slow side when it comes to loading and the app appearance is very “busy.” Having the ability to clean up the front page a bit by having the option to remove the info. could help. Also, being able to reorder the buttons on the main menu (the page with the tip board, mobile ordering, and transportation buttons) for quicker access and customization would be helpful as well.

Couldn’t unlock Door at the room although my wife could. EDIT: Yes, my bluetooth was on, and I did agree to use my device to unlock the door. I was on the guest wifi at the resort, so data wasn’t slow. In fact, the app worked to unlock the door just the day before. I had to sign out of the app and sign back in before it worked. The next day, one of my planned experiences mysteriously disappeared from the app (horseback riding). There are a lot of bugs to be worked out in the system.

  21. I am on a Disney trip right now and I’m very much struggling to plan our days. Finding rides and navigating Genie+ lightning lane schedules is very complicated. My daughter’s ticket didn’t link properly on the app and I wasted an hour of the ONE day she had at a park talking to guest services to try and fix it (they weren’t able to fix). And every time I try to zoom in and view the map, it automatically zooms out. Overall, too many options and not user friendly or intuitive.

  22. A must-have app to get around Disney World. If you are planning to buy Genie+, you going to need this app to book a ride. To learn more on how to do that, search YouTube. The map interface is somewhat buggy. When I zoom in, it sometimes zoom me back out. They should make an individual map interface for each park instead of putting them all in one map.

The always crashes on the first launch and while using it constantly. They are forcing you to have your face glued to your face yet you constantly have to re open it. I have cleared cache, cleared data, and reinstalled the app with the same results. Just today the app crashed when I tried to check in for my mobile order, book a lightning lane, and check wait times. At least a dozen times in the span of 4 hours. Can’t cancel DAS pass because it constantly shows ‘something went wrong’

  24. I like the convenience of the app. Everything from wait times to trivia. However, I tried to modify my hotel reservation and could not. Also the park wait time screen kept collapsing. I couldn’t get it to display properly to see wait times. I just think Disney needs it’s own satellite to maintain its functionality.

  25. Shane Sage dice:

The app was super helpful but at the same time super frustrating!! It crashed so often when trying to do something as essential as unlocking my resort door. Finding information in the app for navigating/transportation and resort amenities barely existed. We were constantly confused on the services offered and how to use them like genie plus. There were many times where I found just googling the answer to my question and using a third party website was easier than their own resources.

  26. James McP dice:

App is vital but also a dumpster fire. If you have the fonts large for visibility the menus don’t expand correctly (ACCESSIBILITY FAIL!), it constantly changes zoom level in maps, the route tool doesn’t rotate or show the full directions, you constantly have to go to the main menu, it doesn’t cache basic data requiring constant internet and you cannot mute or mark read the dozens of mostly irrelevant status alerts that clutter the home screen.

  27. This app definitely has some helpful features, but it’s buggy and missing a few critical features. Main one being the ability to completely disable recommendations, or at least configure them. It keeps recommending the least popular stuff at the park above our scheduled rides and stuff we want to do.

  28. The app doesn’t function properly. Checking into my hotel was a nightmare. The app never maintained correct information. It said other people were in my room instead of my family. Hotel had to call “IT” several times. Park reservations kept disappearing and showing back up on the wrong day… Not a Magical experience at all. Disney likely has created a monolithic database behind their apps that is so badly designed that the whole thing likely needs to be re-architected. YIKES!

  29. I like how you have it all in one place but it’s also to much in one place. I have never been to DisneyWorld and booking this trip has given me so much anxiety I almost said screw it. The app is confusing to follow you never know when what you click might take you to a web page to finish what your doing, you also need a reservation for the parks which I never knew so you could miss out of going to on of the parks you want to go to if you don’t plan months in advance.

  30. BTG dice:

It would be nice I’d the previous page button on androids, actually took me to the previous page, and not close the app. Update: Still just as annoying as I remember. App still closes when back button is pressed. Auto refresh and readjust the zoom every 5 second is super annoying when you’re trying to look for things on the map.

  31. Functional, but not super helpful. Generally used it as a map around the parks, but it’s slow and doesn’t always refresh. Trying to find the different activities, and not just rides, is irritating. They should download the Universal app and see how much better they can get. It’s also really irritating trying to use it to access everyone’s tickets. Not good for larger groups without magic bands. Disney Genie was worthless. Did not spend on the overpriced Genie+ functions.

  32. Very confusing. It is similar to the menus Gordon Ramsey would butcher on his show. Too many options but little direction. It took us a full day, at least 5 cast members and a few people more experienced to help us figure it out. The map feature is likened to Google maps but we don’t agree. One of our party is an IT person and still struggled. Once you get it you get it but again it is a big learning curve. The app just isn’t intuitive. I felt I had to enter the same info multiple times.

  33. jabodagabo dice:

I love the effort to make everything seemless and automatically combined in a central location. However the application itself has been rather frustraighting. It seems the SSO single sign on feature could use some work as I’m often getting pages that won’t load because it really wants to re authenticate me but nothing pops up or tells me that. The future plan itinerary has very limited options on the mobile app vs website. The future plans/itinerary seems overlapped by magic genie system.

  34. Anthony R. dice:

This app is terrible. If you’re an android user and want to navigate your friends and family through the parks efficiently…this is not it. Will zoom out of your spot quickly on the maps if you’re looking for wait times, attractions, shops ect. Can’t click on anything because again. It will zoom out. Ruined my experience.

  35. The app lags, is often unresponsive, and crashes multiple times per use. It also drains my phones battery. When it works it’s great, but it’s very unreliable. I really wish Disney would figure out how to fix this app. It’s gotten progressively worse over the years.

  36. Help navigating the park but my app locks up and crashes every time I hit the 3 liness at the bottom. I’ve even talked to CMs about it and it still doesn’t work correctly. My app won’t let me make dining reservations either. I have to use my husband’s phone. But you almost have to have the app. Just hoping my pictures from the Memory Maker will come thru eventually

  37. phunfone dice:

Constant crashes and error messages. I paid for genie+ but I couldn’t book lightning lanes 90% of the time because it failed to load. The map is internet only and doesn’t show labels until you zoom all the way in. Chat support took 3 hours to respond to my issue of not being able to load audio tales (which I paid for with genie+) because I got an error message, and they didn’t resolve my issue; they just said “sorry for the wait” and nothing else.

  38. I just updated the app yesterday when I bought the magic+ band and it will not link up. It keeps saying the app has a bug. I know how to use this app. But not sure what the “new update” did to it. Cuz it’s not working. Might want to look into what went wrong with the update. Hopefully there will be another update very soon and this “bug” will go away.

  39. Dean Bruch dice:

EDIT 7/30/22: Attempted reinstall of app. Did not fix any of the previous issues. Wait times still don’t populate on list only map. App also now crashes periodically. EDIT 7/2/22: Ever since most recent update, wait time list does not populate times. Wait times are only available on map. Still disappointed with app. Always has network issues. Future plans section refuses to connect. Dining reservations will not complete without numerous errors and retries. Generally disappointed with this app.

  40. The app is unfortunately necessary to book certain rides and check in for dining during your visit but it very rarely works. It will work fine one day and the next tell you that you don’t have a reservation or genie plus even though you do. There are tremendous problems trying to join the virtual queues at 7am even when opening early in preparation. It crashes multiple times a day& is constantly missing important information. I have even more complaints but the review doesn’t allow more text
