It used to be a very useful app. Now horrible! I have several Chase Credit cards and I used to be able to check each statement on line but no more! Now, when I ask to view a particular one, only one comes up and not the current one! I had stopped mail statements. So my option now is to go to the Chase website or resume receiving statements in the mail. I am thinking of going with the latter!
8/2024 update: I’m a legally blind user who has always had a great experience with this app. The fonts were always large and easy for me to see. However, the most recent update has made this app borderline unusable. All of the fonts are small. Please undo whatever you did to make this happen. Previous review: User friendly and easy to navigate. Can manage multiple accounts with one app. Easily pay bills, credit cards, and transfer funds.
Never had a problem with Chase. I am particularly impressed with their procedures when they identify fraudulent charges on the card. The app keeps getting better all the time. The only feature I need is the current month charges (current balance – last month’s closing balance). I have to do the math to find out how much I’ve spent in the current month.
Most functions in the app work well, but I am extremely annoyed when Chase updates the app and then displays a “what’s new” screen. The screen takes several seconds to load, and cannot be cancelled while loading, at a time when I want to do something in the app. A simple, non-blocking notification would be fine.
Update: 4 years later and we still can’t do a simple SEARCH. decent app, I’m not sure if I’m missing it somewhere, but I can’t believe there’s no search function for your transactions. It’s’s super frustrating to have to scroll to find something. Their funnel by transaction type is absolutely useless when you need to find something specific and it’s not categorized correctly. With all the money and resources Chase has, this is an unacceptable oversight
BEWARE!!! DO NOT use Chase Auto!!! They will charge you extra payments if you pay early. Then, charge a late fee for a paid bill. Customer support will transfer you with long wait times and still not know why they charged you, but tell you to pay more to avoid any hits to your credit. Just hassle after hassle to deal with here. The app forces you to call customer service as it is missing basic options. Auto pay can not be changed from this app. Lots of spam and calls from sold info. AVOID!!!!
I don’t have any problems with the services of the app per se. But the new iteration changed the font size and thickness, making it smaller and more difficult to read. If you’re making changes, make ones that are easier on the user as opposed to more difficult. Also I could find no way in the app to change the font size.
Nice app. The only thing I’d change is the ability to permanently fix the category of a merchant transaction. For example, it keeps putting Walmart as shopping, but I only use Walmart for groceries. I can change each individual transaction category one by one but not all or even just future ones, so my budget is too messed up and not worth the hassle to use it the budget feature, which is the only reason I use a different app for budgeting.
This app has not been working properly. It literally just won’t work. Gives an error message for months now. I have tried uninstalling/re-installing. Customer service has lied each time I’ve tried them by saying they’re aware of the problem, that it just started a few days prior, and will resolve it soon. It’s been several months; it is not resolved. And I believe because of this my incoming belle’s won’t work.
I’ve used the app for years with no problems, but within the past 6 months, the app has become SUPER GLITCHY. It seemed to be a steady decline. At first, it just wouldn’t close when I finished banking. Then, it was delaying being able to see recent transactions. Today, I couldn’t see my transactions at all. As soon as I would click anywhere on the home page, it would crash and log me out… What’s going on Chase?
I switched to a new phone, then after a while I tried logging in from a PC and it told me that it had sent a notification to my OLD phone! There is no option to choose the new phone or just get a text with a code or something. It’s the old phone or I have to call them. This is completely idiotic. I was able to figure it out and manually deactivate the old phone from settings, but I imagine how many people ended up calling and waiting on the line. What an epic fail.
This app was great at the beginning, but now recently it has been giving me trouble. I think it has a bug or something whenever you go to securities and setting check or change the notification or something and doesn’t let you go back to the main screen, the whole app freezes and only thing you could do is close the app and reopen from start.
Very user-friendly and lots of financial tools. I really like the pie chart breaking down my spending; it’s made paying my bills and saving money easier. Great app, great bank. They’ve asked me to update my review. I still like the bank, the visa card, and the app. 5% back on Amazon when I shop with the card. The credit journey is a big help with improving my score; I was able to get a better rate on my last vehicle purchase
This has been a great app, but a recent update is driving me crazy, every other time i login (who stays logged in?) It asks me to turn on biometrics/fingerprint. I do not use biometrics at all and it is disabled on my phone. This needs a permanent opt out button. Called support and they said it was “by design” and to use a web browser to log into Chase if i do not want to be asked about biometrics.
I login with the password. However, I’m prevented from seeing my information, by an unwanted offer to login faster next time. How much faster is it going to be? I was in fast with the password! Until you popped up a screen blanket to offer me an unwanted speedup with the screen popup blanket. Thank you developer for nothing! By the way. The app doesn’t calculate the running balance for pending charges. I need to pull out the calculator for that. Phooey on apps that omit information 😛😝🤪
There is no way to make a payment early and put Autopay on pause for a month. Other credit cards do this because it is advantageous to their customers. If I forget to turn back on autopay, I will of course get a fee if I do not pay my cc manually. I think ease of features that can prevent their customers from receiving fees says a lot about the bank. Chase doesn’t make it easy… Also just started getting charged $12 per month because my direct deposit goes into another bank account. 👎
Forced to use Chase when they became the servicer of my mortgage. Trying to setup external accounts should be easy, but I have to verify manually for my banks for actually setting up payments. The links to do this are not in the app or website (at least on mobile). Messages say what to search for if I’m unable to find it, but none of the search results are relevant for this. Among all my financial service appsI utilize, this is by far the worst.
The whole chase environment is terrible. I’ve had issues for months. They closed a credit account without informing me. For some reason their app can send me a verification text code, but their phone support can’t. Their customer service has incorrect info when verifying info for my account. I was told they were going to send me a verification for my ID, but nothing ever came. I tried updating my account info, entered verification text code, but made me call a number that didn’t give me a code.
Generally worked for electronic transfers and check deposits. Extremely frustrating experience with the option to schedule an ATM withdrawal. The only way to withdraw cash was with a digital wallet and none of the available digital wallet options on the mobile app worked with any of the 10 ATMs at a Chase Branch. Why are you rolling out an incomplete product? Customer support was no help either.
Update:Email directed me to go to Chase Credit Journey through app. However CCJ is not viewable through app. Otherwise Ok. Combine Points option is hard to find on the Chase website and us not even visible/provided in the Chase App. For those on the go, if you cannot perform a function in the App, the App is useless. Chase travel cannot view or book hotels through app. Now, it’s worthless when I need it.
