Obviously, the leader in pdf’s. However, “liquid mode” is a pain, and now I cannot easily find a way for it to NOT open in said mode. 1. Users cannot easily move to specific pages. I was trying to quickly get to page 87, and it was significantly more difficult. There is no point to this madness. 2. The extra load time cancels any added benefit.
It’s fine. There are a lot of PDF file reading software available for free or low, low cost. So far this has been fitting a need. But I wanted to edit something and that’s where the “Free Trial” offer pops up. Nope. I’ll look around and see what else I can find. I’m tired of being tricked into free trials and then being billed even when I cancel in time. Then it’s a whole other hassle to get customer service and refund. All for a so-called free trial.
App is totally useless! I can’t read anything that is opened with this app. Cuts off half of the documents so I can’t see the right side of it. So I end up downloading the pdf and using Microsoft Office to read the document. I’ve done everything in settings to try and fix, even Uninstall and reinstall. Nothing works, useless. Adobe used to be the best, what happened?
This app needs to be updated for compatibility!! I’ve been using it for a very long time and have occasionally received this message, but in the last few days I can’t open Adobe without it closing immediately. I cleared the cache and data but that didn’t fix it…. I’m at a loss for what to do because as a software developer this is frustrating since we’re taught to fix our issues and help the end user. We’re also taught to make sure we keep up with technology as well.
When I go to open my password protected pdf it starts to open and then I receive a message that some features are not supported and doesn’t open. Before updating it opened fine. I did this on 2 androids to test and was able to create same issue. Before update it opened, since then it won’t. Other than that it has been extremely great!
It is a little annoying when you use only the free version, but still fully functional. The paid version makes it easier to edit, save, transfer and porbably more, but I use the free version. And I definitely recommend it if you’re needing i effort PDF files. It also has additional apps on the play store that can increase productivity. For example ‘Fill n Sign’ make it very easy to add signatures to a online document.
It’s all about the upgrading to a pay service. I thought when I first got an email and opened it about this new app from Adobe Acrobat telling me that they had added all kinds of features. I thought finally this will be so much easier now to send and receive PDF’s that u can edit and sign and that’s way cool. Then when I went to use it. Bamm the first thing they hit u with is a subscription for premium. Cause low and behold the app doesn’t do very much unless you upgrade to premium. Sucks
I use Acrobat DC on my computer and love it! On my phone however, my biggest complaint and frustration is the fact that I can’t add any fonts!!! It’s annoying when I have to use the app to fill out some forms on-the-go and the font that is used throughout the file is unavailable in the app so I have to use a font that looks similar but completely throws off the consistency of the document! I use a very common one, COURIER NEW, but apparently it’s too hard for these developers to add it 😖
I use this app frequently for reviewing construction documents and drawings. It’s always served me well, as it is significantly more stable than viewing with a browser, especially with large files. I would like to see the ability to add folders built into the app. This is a feature that is available on the iOS version of the app, and allows files to be organized in app. Little disappointing that simple feature is not available on Android.
I’ve purchased this app many timesover the years and pay one price and own it till the next version came out. During the year you would receive updates which were fixes to the bugs that were in the program (NO CHARGE) I first purchased adobe was in 1993 and every year or so. Now it’s a constant money grabber every month if not more often. And it broke down in many parts. I don’t know about anyone else but I can’t afford this but can’t do without it. Somebody make a pdf app for one price for all.
I’ve used this app for several years. It’s good to save user’s manuals but it has become ridiculously slow at doing searches within documents. I also find it annoying that every tine I open the app it opens to the home screen but then switches to a screen to compress files (it waits just long enough before switching to fool you into acting on the current screen; this other screen is also something I’ve never used.) Just annoying.
It’s a shame to have to need something like this so I can print pdf files. This says it’s for all files, but many downloads from websites are not able to be opened with this app. All I wanted to do is be able to print to a wireless printer. I can’t decrease font size to print less pages. I tried edit, but apparently the extras all cost money. It’s 2022 and reading, editing and printing pdf’s should be as standard as automatic door locks on a car. I’ll be looking for something else.
Great but inconsistent This app is great. It has cloud integration so I can view all my files across different platforms without having to switch apps. However navigation through this app is a little strange. Sometimes when I’m using Dropbox and look at a pdf when I press back it will go back multiple directories. Because this only happens sometimes, the app is unpredictable.
Obviously good reader with bad quirks. First, liquid mode and repeated prompts to enable it is very frustrating. It ruins an otherwise good app. Second, you can’t share a document without signing in. What? There are so many other PDF readers that allow you to quickly open and read PDF…period. This one is overly complicated for such a simple task.
Great PDF viewer at its core, very fast and very stable. But it’s so aggressive in trying to get the user to sign in that it might as well be a MSFT product, you can’t even click the share button without signing in first. Also the nagging popups. “Have you tried liquid mode? Have you? No really, have you? How about today? What about now?” Very irritating.
Falsely advertised as free! I just wanted to edit a document. Something that would have taken 5 seconds to do. A service that’s FREE everywhere else. But they wanted me to subscribe monthly or yearly for a STUPID amount of money for what it is. I guess I wasted the amount of time I could have just done it on my PC with an actually free program. Would be nice to do it on my phone. It could save me a whole 60 seconds. Not worth $100. Not even worth $1. Lol But Adobe did waste my time though.
By far, the most user-friendly and consistent .pdf reader I’ve ever used for Android. Easy user interface for ‘non-techies,’ like myself. Makes it simple to download, share, edit, and save .pdf’s. The only .pdf reader app I’ve used that downloads and opens files consistently and without pop-ups or ads! Doesn’t cause my phone to freeze or become slow or ‘glitchy.’ It’s now my default .pdf reader for my Android S21.
I’ve used this app almost daily for years in my career, but after a recent update Ive chosen to move on. All PDFs will only show headers and page numbers now. It’s not the PDF file itself because I can open them just fine in other viewer apps and on my PC. Adobe did something wrong with the latest update and the app is completely useless now. Farewell Adobe.
This app saves local versions of files in a hidden folder only it can access, bloating its size. Those files are only removable from within the app itself, not with a file explorer. Even if your file is saved on an SD card originally, Adobe still makes a new version inside its own app in an attempt to get the user to start using their cloud services so that they can manage their files.
This was a decent app until I updated it yesterday! Now when I do a search, then rename or open a file, then save or close the file it pops up with the phrase of ‘no files found’ and I have to completely restart the search if I need to rename or look at multiple files. What a waste of my time!
I’ve used this app for so many years and I’ve loved it. It was perfect for getting signatures and filling out forms electronically in real time, with my customers. Then it updated. Just read all the other reviews. Very clunky now. The tried to simply everything that it’s become more of a pain to get initials, signatures, and fill out forms. I really wish they would would remove the stupid edit icon and bring back the full screen with the task menu options. Plus the scrolling is now clunky. There really was no reason to change all of this. Don’t get me wrong. It’s still a great pdf editor and i would have kept my review at 5 stars. but the new changes are very annoying.
I tested the premium for 2 days. It just works so bad… Everything works in the cloud which makes a simple combine PDF to take 30 minutes and 2GB of data… Then the document gives you error when you try to open it. If it is not damaged takes between 7-8 min to open. You want to rotate the pages and there is no option to select all. You need to go one by one!!! In a 200 page document… Incredible they want to charge 10$/month for this. What a steal!!
The new search functions is awful and utterly useless. I need to search a long complicated document, on a regular basis. I need an overview of all occurrences of my search term, as it was in previous versions. Having to go through each individual hit, as it is now, is completely unacceptable and unusable. Switch it back or I will be forced to find a way to get sideload a bootleg of an older version . That search feature is more important to me than any so-called improvements you could ever make. Also, I will NOT log in to a stupid pdf viewer. Very offensive. Stop trying to track people or steal their data. Viewing PDF’S on my phone does not require any internet or cloud access.
The update looks nice, but drawings move when the screen rotates. That wasn’t an issue in order versions. I use the freehand drawings to mark up PDFs when I can’t highlight for one reason or another. it would also be nice to be able to use night mode in general, not just specific to single PDFs. another small thing that I wish I could be included would be the ability to freehand draw, but also advance the next page by swiping. Along with that, be able to zoom in and out, pan around a page, while free hand drawing. Overall very good app but just a few tweaks might make it more useful
Huge step backwards in the latest version. Search used to produce a visual list of all of the places where the word or words appeared. You could scroll through them, see which ones were relevant, and then tap the one you wanted to go to that page. This is gone. Makes no sense and makes Acrobat much less useful. There seems to be a bug with the arrow to go back to the list of documents. About two-thirds of the time, it simply exits Acrobat. You have to restart acrobat, which sometimes opens back in the document, and then the arrow works, and sometimes opens in the list of documents. The inconsistent behavior is frustrating and the need to go through multiple clicks for no reason is time-wasting and evidence of poor programming and poor quality control. There are other problems with features that were apparently removed, but those two are the obvious main points. Previously, I would have given Acrobat four and a half stars or better. Sadly, I have to reduce that to two stars. I use the search feature constantly, so the reduced capability is a killer for me. Oh, and $25 a month just to rotate pages? That’s ridiculous.
Terrible update! The latest version imposes the ‘features’ on your reading experience, most notably with the pencil icon that pops up on the screen whether you want it to our not. Also, search now only returns one response at a time, which is useless. I hate updates that make the app worse, not better, without really adding any useful tools or features. I wish there was a way to go back to the earlier version?
Couldn’t leave well enough alone could you? I need this app for work purposes. It is how we fill out work orders. The latest update has made editing the work order extremely user Unfriendly. When creating new text, you do not have a full screen to see what you are actually typing unless you stretch the text box which makes no sense, just give me back the full text screen. Also if you have to adjust the placement of the text sometimes it jumps around when you try to grab it. 🤬🤬. This version sucks
The new update no longer allows you to send multiple files at the same time. It consistently freezes the app when you try to sign the form. You have to shut the computer multiple times to get it to sign properly. I would recommend trying it yourself. I am only getting 2 options when selecting the “three dots” (also known as option selection) I’m seeing remove from recent and delete. No option to share.
This latest upgrade screwed up all the good things I liked about the app. I use large PDF files. Bookmarks were once easy to set up and use; now they require navigating with tapping on the screen several times just to set them up or to find them. Entirely too confusing and unnecessary. Even getting to the file browsing system section is now more difficult than it should be. One misstep and the screen enlarges and you got to figure out how to get back. I use it to read music lyrics on stage and can’t be spending a lot of time navigating a crappy app between songs. It seems Adobe could not leave well enough alone.
Naturally, being made by the company that made the PDF standard in the first place, I’ve had no trouble opening valid PDF files. If I could suggest one improvement for future versions, though, it would be the ability to delete the resident copies of files that it makes in the app without having to go into the phone’s settings and delete the app’s data entirely. The extra space they use really starts to add up after awhile. Also, maybe ease up on beating us over the head with the Liquid feature.
A solid and well known app, this is a great option for almost anything you may need to do. Good rendering, nice view options, good annotations, and good form filling. I’m only giving 4 stars, though, for two reasons: 1) It feels a little dated and cumbersome. I get the feel while using it that the design and flow of the app is in need of an overhaul 2) There are some features missing from this app that are available on a Windows/Mac, if you have a premium subscription.
This app was great! Was being the operative word. The new UI is terrible and makes it absurdly hard to access the table of contents of a large book, requiring four separate touch inputs which wouldn’t be such a bother if it didn’t break 90% of the time you tried to use it. But here we are. Get literally any other PDF reader, you’ll save yourself a lot of hassle.
It is an excellent mobile version of an app, however it jumbles text if it’s grouped in the same text box, and doesn’t have spacing features and therefore you cannot adjust it. You also cannot specify text if it is part of a larger textbox. Overall, impressed, however I would really like to see this improved to really be able to edit pdfs on a mobile device.
I found a bug. I have android 6.0.1 on a Lenovo Tab 10. The app offers two opportunities to make annotations. One involves using a long press anywhere on the PDF and then annotating. Another involves tapping the blue pen circle. If you long press, all freehand highlighting marks shift down and no longer highlight what they are meant to highlight. Very frustrating. Could you fix this? However, if you click the blue pen to make your annotations, everything works out. Otherwise, I am very happy with this application.
6/21/19 Read rave reviews about new stuff so I did the update. Big mistake. The most useful feature of the version I had was the ability to search a document for a word and have the app show me the number of times the word was used and a small bit of the text at each occurance. This is useful when searching a book doing research for studying or to write a report. The versions since 18.2.0.182935 only highlight each occurance, does not say how many times the word is used, no preview text panel.
Fantastic app that only gets better with the improved software upgrades. For phones, it’s great for viewing/reading files and any comments, as well as signing e-forms. However, a tablet/laptop screen is more convenient and doesn’t limit functions or capabilities. The monthly subscription cost can be difficult during unemployment or underemployment, but luckily, there aren’t any penalty fees for canceling and resubscribing at any time.
The app worked great until the last galaxy system update. Currently I cannot locate the app but it starts when I plug it into the car. The navigation works fine I can make and receive calls. I can receive text but cannot send text. It allows me speak the text but When it asked me to send or change it says the Internet connection is unstable. It also will not shut down automatically when I remove the phone from the car and the car is turned off.
I do like the app, but would love to see certain features that I believe will make it the best in the run. 1) The read aloud feature needs a lot of improvement. There should be choices for more voices, accents, and speed options as well as better quality of the speech. 2) The arrow keys are not user-friendly. This should be fixed. 3) The highlighter option.. I would love to see more choice for colors in the free version.
This app has quickly become a cornerstone to my doctoral studies. It is easy to learn; very intuitive. I can take my work with me, reading and taking notes wherever I am. I can also enlarge text on the screen. I had printed out a document, and the font was TINY. I was able to enlarge the electronic version and read without effort. I’m sure there are some weaknesses somewhere, but I haven’t encountered any yet.
Was working fine….Until today. Well, I noticed it today. It could have been malfunctioning yesterday or the day before for all I know, but I hadn’t used it until today. It force closes without fail, and that little message pops up saying “Acrobat for Samsung has stopped working” and gives me the option to close the app or look at some sort of info. It won’t open at all, tried it numerous times over the last few hours Note 10+ running Android 10, One UI 2.1, and the August security patch.
