After having this app downloaded for over 8 months, I’ve tried to be fair before writing a review. I can honestly say, It’s as difficult to use now as it was on day one. If searching for anything specific, it’s impossible to find. School and business closings should be easily found especially when inclimate weather is at its worse. Sorry, but I honestly find this app worthless. However I do enjoy your daily and nightly newscast.
When it works, it’s great. This is the only app on my phone that takes forever to load!! It’s really inconvenient when you see a notification you are interested in but it takes a solid minute or two for the page to come up. I’ve also never been able to get the voting thing to work. Perhaps it is an android thing? Please make some adjustments if possible.
This app needs a complete rebuild from scratch. Nothing but problems and TERRIBLE load times. I get notifications daily with interesting topics that I have opinions about. I want to participate with the “Vote Now” notification. But when I click on it, all it says is “Megaphone TV Amplify Your Audience” and then nothing… The next issue, I get a breaking news alert. It’s something I find interesting so I click on the notification, which of course brings me to a completely unrelated article. 👎
Good content but the app really needs some work. It’s buggy and notifications never work when I try and click on them from my drop down. Lots of times I’m forced to just read headlines because the stories only go to a blank screen. Their ads are super long and unable to skip them and they are before every video… So annoying. Hopefully they will make some much needed improvements in the future.
This app is Clunky and needs a great deal of work. A person can’t listen to it while they do other things, it requires constant attention. Press the back arrow, correct this, press audio and refresh on and on. With a newspaper app at least you know you have to read it then you don’t have to repeatedly manage it. I only keep it installed to fact check other stories and confirm things from other sources.
The latest update implements a very annoying and incessant pop up urging you to enable notifications when you’ve specifically turned off notifications in settings. Note to developer: if I have taken the trouble of manually disabling notifications, it is because I don’t want notifications, let alone notifications about turning on notifications! Just saying…
I really like that the scrolling issue was fixed in the latest update, it was the only thing that was keeping me from loving the newer interface! The only reason this app gets 4 stars instead of 5 is because I hate trying to READ a news story and having videos autoplay and blasting audio when I’m in public places (even when my phone is on silent). Other than that the app is great
This app is terrible on Andriod devices. Everytime I get notifications to read a story, it always takes me to a totally unrelated story. Live weather updates during severe weather? Forget about it. I always have to go my web browser to see severe weather updates on their website. This thing needs to be looked at and optimized, because it kinda sucks.
I’d give it no stars but I can’t. Your app crashes every time I try to open an article. What good is it if I can’t read the articles?!
It could be a useful app if the push notifications worked. I’ve tried changing settings, reinstalling the app, and I don’t remember what else to try to fix it, but the alerts never come through on my Android device (Pixel 4a 5G)although they will on my iOS device (iPhone SE 2020). Also, I notice in settings it says “Hi Brian null” which would indicate there’s something wrong with my profile, but when I check, everything is filled out.
Never had issues. That was until this morning. I always check the news app before i do anything for the day and now i cant even do that. I open the app, starts to load, then automatically closes itself. If it gets fixed, i might change rating.
disappointed after latest update a while back. auto plays clips of the stories on homepage and auto plays videos/ads when only trying to read the article. there was a clip of an assault on the homepage that was very brutal. I found it disturbing they didnt play a discretion warning, just a clip of a woman getting brutally jumped. this isnt liveleak…I uninstalled.
Live broadcasts are the best feature, but the ads within individual stories are insane. 30 second ads to watch a 15-30 second news clip, or in some cases they are just slides with text. There are other local news apps that weigh less in the ad content.

Alerts work great. But when you click on the alert to open the app it takes forever to show anything. It’s as if the app is frozen… The buttons don’t work… Becomes unresponsive. Needs an update.
Locks up everytime. I will get a notification of a story that I want to read or watch, and click on it. It then it attempts to open the app and story, but cannot unless I hit the back button or go close and click on the app directly.
Doesn’t work on Android devices. Having to open the app and refresh multiple times to see the news update that pops up in my notifications is a bit too much for me. So I deleted the app. Maybe I’ll give it another try in the future when Androids are taken into consideration.
App takes way too long to load. When clicking on a notification, the app loads a white screen. Sometimes the content will pop up but most times I get tired of waiting and close the app. {Breaking News} — Notifications are now opening the wrong link.
I ended up uninstalling it because it would freeze and couldn’t finish watching weather video. Also took long time to open or load and then no sound so would need to load again. I enjoyed it otherwise but hope it can be fixed!

I cannot believe your ads! I attempted to view 3 videos and got the same 20 or 30 second ad playing at the beginning of each one. HUH??!! Are you kidding me???!!! I am uninstalling this app & you REFUSE to WASTE my time watching an ad in front of EVERY VIDEO!!
Slow!!! It takes forever to pull anything up from notifications.. the vote sections never works.. hell, I wanted to modify my settings on the app and it can even get into that! BTW, I’m using my home wifi!
Needs to rotate (go wide screen) and protect to other devices
App won’t open when tapped. It disappears. When I tap to vote on your questions, all I get is a black screen with Megaphone TV on it. I do get the newsfeed.
Ads and more ads. I get you need revenue but blasting ads in autoplay when you just want to quietly read… rude. NEWSFLASH. I am NOT watching a 30 second ad video before watching a 10 second news video. EVER. (GOES FOR WEBSITE TOO) Uninstalling.

Painfully slow app. News videos take forever to load and it’s mins of ad’s. Uninstalling because notifications are off, but still getting notifications. Reporting is sad! They make Will Farrell (Anchorman) look good!
Weather is good and accurate. However push notifications and news stories take forever to load or just freeze trying to open. Speed up the app and it would be 5 star.
Much improved from the first time I installed. I love the ABC11 News team! However the app has some bugs: I can’t ever get to vote in their polls because the polling app never opens! Plus opening news from my notifications is SLOW.
I love the breaking new. even when I can not watch the broadcast I can come to the app and listen to the entire News. I love the app. it allows me to read or listen on my own time. love the weather and the sports.

A video pops up while reading the article. You ‘X” it, continue reading, yet soon as u scroll down it pops back up! Why do I have an option to “X” it? Also produces articles 5-45min after other news apps have already announced the “News” sometimes causing ABC11 producing articles that are inaccurate b/c of their delay🧐🤡🤬😢
Always freezes when trying to open with Alerts on top of your phone. Have to close multiple times to activate again. Will uninstall it soon if no progress in fixing.
*CENSORING MAJOR NEWS* ABC11 had decided not report the coup in Sudan. After contacting the news desk twice, I was informed they had chosen not to run this major international story. I am uninstalling the abc11 app and will no longer use them for news local, state, national or international. No longer a trusted source.
Like so many others, push notifications do not load. Thought it was because my Galaxy S9 was getting old. Upgraded to the Galaxy S21 this week. Push notifications still take 2 minutes to load.
0 stars. They want you to watch a 30 second ad for a 15 second story. I get you guys have to make money. But do I have to watch an ad with every single story? Why no skip feature? You guys are just greedy at this point. I will get my news elsewhere.
This app opens slow. The share button doesn’t work most times. It freezes constantly. I have very great wifi…and no other apps do this
the app has to be closed and restarted a lot. you can’t just click on a notification, all you get is a white screen until you close it and reopen.
Android version Samsung S8+. Totally sux. installed… didn’t work, so reinstalled after restating phone. Repeated 3x and just uninstalled permanently. NO help for Hurricane Florence!!!!!
Horrible app. I thought WRAL’s app was bad. This is ridiculously bad. Freezes every single time. No videos, no casting ability. Come on guys, your news is good. Get your app together!
